Review 1：We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very comfortable and the staff were very polite and helpful. We would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Review 2：Lots of uneven stairs to this room which my co- traveller found difficult, though the hotel did offer us an alternative when we arrived.

Review 4：the hotel had no booking from booking.com when we arrived and was full. they did help us to make alternative arrangements at very short notice but the duty manager tried to be helpful but was quite inept.one of his staff had to assist. I have spoken with booking.com Michell who said she would investigate and copy me into any email correspondence. the problem made us late for a wedding! Any comments from you would be appreciated. We have used quite a few times but don't want another repeat of this failure

Review 7：Comfortable room, staff friendly and level of service very good, excellent breakfast. I arrived quite late after a long journey and staff were welcoming and quickly got me to my room.

Review 9：The staff were all excellent and ensured we had everything we needed. We had bar food for lunch which at first sight appeard a little pricy but when it arrived it was excellent in all aspects - freshness, quality and portion size - and hence excellent value for money. We returned from a day out in the evening after the service but we were provided with a bar snack (well a meal) again excellent in all aspects.

Review 10：Room was clean but tired as wallpaper was coming off the wall. Also we wer situated next to the kitchen with the noisy fans outside our window. From 1 is not a god room to be in.

Review 14：Not very disability friendly, long walk from car park, only downstairs rooms were in an annexe across a main road! Dinner menu not very extensive and pricy for what it was! Bad experience bathroom flooded overnight, no reason but unable to use! Adjustment made to bill without having to ask! So the hotel was able to face up to its responsibility.

Review 27：I requested a room not facing the main road, but we have been given a room which was opposite the hotel on the main road, the traffic was consistent throughout the night and we could hardly sleep. The mattress was so soft it gave me backaches, the duvet was so small just enough covered the mattress, imagined two people sleeping in the bed! The room was very stuffy!

Review 40：If you have a room over the road from the main hotel, avoid the one over the front door as it slams shut consistently. Room was also very warm and unable to open the window due to the road noise i.e. loud and noisy motorbikes and tractors.

Review 56：The service at breakfast was extremely poor , you would normally expect to be seated but we were left to our own devices. We had to ask for tea and coffee twice and despite asking if we could place an order we were ignored and other guests who came in after us were served first. Another two guests had been waiting prior to us asked if they could order as they had not been served either , they then told the waitress to also take our order but we were then served before them and they only received their breakfast as we were leaving. Portions were also disappointing. The shower in the room was also broken and could not be raised above 4ft.

Review 63：Souless, tacky, ridiculously overpriced, dingey, drab depressing room/decor, old fashioned grotty nana bathroom, just a bad depressing vibe, like a bedsit with hotel furniture. Room on the road, traffic noise. £40 a night would be asking quite a bit for this room. Staff were sweet and helpfull though. A big waste of money. Hotel owners need to step their game up dramatically!!

The bath panel was damaged and the wood has been damp and not replaced. You could hear when people were showering as the water was being used from the pipes. The front door and access to the sleeping areas banged loudly when people were entering or leaving.

Review 72：some rooms up a lot of winding stairs, not easy for the elderly or not so nimble. Very busy through traffic through the town - visitors need to be wary when crossing the roads and aware that some small lanes and roads which appear to be pedestrian thoroughfares are in fact roads.

TV debacle, 1st response to complaint ie no TV remote was that the previous person must have taken it - later as they replaced the new faulty TV found that it wasn't working....a covering backside comment then. Had to search for someone (in the bar) for reception on arrival.

Review 85：THE FOOD WAS AMAZING !! The staff were very friendly and helpful ..and amusing ! We booked a superior double room, but while travelling they called us to say they only had a standard double available, which was fine, as the standard room was very spacious, clean and had everything we wanted. The location was brilliant too .... would definitely go back !!

Although in the centre of town, we were given a quiet room over the road from the hotel which looked out on a lovely walled garden.
