Reviews for Ramada Resort Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel & Spa
Review 1:We took our dog and were therefore given a room in the annexe at rear of hotel. These rooms are not pictured on the website and are very shabby. We had booked a double room and ended up with two separate single beds. Dirty and stained carpet and pieces of plaster missing from walls. No cold water no matter how long we ran the taps. Very disappointed as booked for 2 nights as a Christmas treat
Review 2:Very nice pool/spa area Excellent food in restaurant Lovely hotel grounds
Review 3:Cleanliness was quite poor. There were cobweps on the ceilings in our room, tea cups in our bedroom were unwashed, bathmat in our bathroom was extremely old and dirty. There was also a yellow water stain on the bathroom ceiling.
Review 4:Good location, good SPA facilities and good value.
Review 5:Hot buffet breakfast was cold & plates cold !!
Review 6:Staff were friendly & well informed !!! Main restaurant a little pricey but food & service excellent
Review 7:Booked ahead on booking.com("lock in this great price today") then found price on day £11 cheaper but I was locked in to more expensive price.basically penalised for booking ahead.also only 4 hours swimming for kids finishing at 6pm,not good for older kids
Review 8:Fantastic friendly staff
Review 9:I'm disabled and there were some unavoidable steps, but staff were very apologetic, so I really didn't mind.
Review 10:It was such a surprise to find how lovely the hotel is. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was SO large and comfortable. A 6 foot bed and I slept so well. The swimming pool and jacuzzi / steam room / sauna were amazing and beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic with lovely fresh fruit and local yoghurts in addition to full English breakfast. I would rarely go back to the same place twice, but this time I definitely will!!
Review 11:Very very slow wi-fi. No hot water in the room just after 20 mins every time. They did too much chlorine in the water of the Jacuzzi, that's why my eyes was very sensitive .
Review 12:We had a lovely cottage near the lake, was such a beautiful view from our terrace. Staff very helpful, delicious foods, big swimming pool area.
Review 13:Room Heating was electric portable, not central. Room cold when arrived. Dinning room has bad acoustics due to hardwood floors and no sound reduction qualities, rugs or curtains, etc..
Review 14:Great Spa and food in the evening. The chef is top class.
Review 15:The bed was not comfortable, the room needed tiding up there was cracked tiles in bathroom and a damp patch on ceiling looks like room above had a leak, the food was expensive for what it was, we both had steak at £21 each the chips where very pale n under cooked and it didn't taste nice.
Review 16:Lovely friendly staff, great swimming pool jacuzzi steam room, we had superior room so was lovely big room.
Review 17:not as much as bad point, but the lighting in the restaurant could be a bit brighter - hard to read a menu without a torch! :-)
Review 18:it is an old hunting lodge from 1600, has got a character, each room reflects its history. the staff is the best, especially Elizabeth! as it was a birthday treat for my friend, we were upgraded to the amazing room, the facilities were great and can't fault the service. The spa is deffinitely well worth a visit. Almost felt sorry only stayed one night!
Review 19:Mattress in the annex room was not comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast were not to a good quality. The restaurant also appeared a bit tired and neglected. The restaurant service was not good, I do not blame the staff as they were simply too busy to keep up.
Review 20:The majority of staff were great, very helpful, friendly and professional.
Review 21:Dinners not presented to the quality that the high price called for; e.g. no rolls or bread, lack of imagination in vegetables.....
Review 22:Quiet and rural location. Staff very pleasant.
Review 23:The Spa was lovely and relaxing . The lady that did my massage was excellent ,very friendly and did a brilliant job. Highly recommend. The room was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely cooked breakfast too.
Review 24:Room was two flights of steep stairs up in the roof space. The room, was cold. The restaurant has no character or ambience and as such chose to have my evening meal in Usk.
Review 25:Fresh coffee pod machine in the room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast
Review 26:I can't believe that there was no food option after 9.30 pm other than crisps and nuts! Little touches could have made this a fantastic stay rather than an OK one. Wifi might have been free but very difficult to access.
Review 27:The bed was very comfortable, the location peaceful and the coffee machine was a nice touch!
Review 28:Got the feeling that the cottage hadn't been used in a while- cobwebs in the bathroom and poorly maintained windows. Room needed blackout blinds. They don't provide shower caps either!
Review 29:A warm welcome and a comfortable bed. Pleasant rural location.
Review 30:The matress on one side was completely sunken, definitely needed changing.
Review 31:Lovely large airy room, great breakfast and great spa facilities. Only 30 minutes approx. drive to Cardiff.
Review 32:Breakfast buffet needs improving. Hot selection limited, only luke warm. Need to cook fresh.
Review 33:Very good location. Great to have use of pool and sauna. Some upgrading needed but very comfortable. Very helpful reception staff who arranged taxi.
Review 34:Friendly staff amazing food and made our group feel very welcome for a hen party . I would def recommend this hotel it is perfect for couples and groups ! Will stay again really enjoyed ! X
Review 35:There didn't appear to be a centre to the hotel....just rooms running into each other which was a shame as we normally like to sit in a nice sitting area / drawing room which was lacking in this hotel.
Review 36:Our room was a good size (room 6) with a recently refurbished bathroom which was lovely. The room itself had everything you could ask for so no complaints at all.....the girl on the front desk was superb....completely unflappable...well done to her :)
Review 37:Could have done with serving food or sandwiches late as did not get back until 10.
Review 38:A warm welcome and helpful staff. Room was excellent being in the seymour suite.
Review 39:Breakfast was dried up and luke warm due to being a self serve. All fresh fruit salads were nearly empty. Why do hotels not serve breakfast as wanted - so wasteful as well. Our room was really cold and didnt have a radiator in it. Room next door was being renovated and we walked out in the morning to a staircase covered in dust-clothes and an open door to outside. Room was very tired - wonky lights and only one accessible plug socket although it appears renovations are in progress.
Review 40:Great spa facility especially as empty! Decent size pool pleasant staff and spacious room with all required in terms of good bathroom and quality shower gel etc. For what we paid it was good value for money but I wouldn't want to pay full price. it is definitely 3 star.Nice pub down road White hart to have dinner
Review 41:The room had little bits of damage. Such as stains on the lamp shades and on the ceiling. One of the lights in the bathroom didn't work either. Plus it said we were meant to have a hair dryer but we didn't... The bottom of the bath had a bit of damage as well.
Review 42:The pool was really good and looked amazing! The breakfast was also really good.
Review 43:Bed was very lumpy and the coffee with breakfast was quite bitter-tasting. It would be good if the spa facilities could be reached through the hotel rather than having to go outside to a separate entrance as it was pouring when we stayed! However the lovely room and friendly staff outweighed these minor negatives and we would definitely stay here again.
Review 44:Staff very friendly
Review 45:I didn't like how cold my room got at night even though you expect it from a old building. The bed was double which was perfect but the duvet could have been bigger as if two of you was share bed one of you would only have abit of duvet
Review 46:I would definitely recommend it to other people. It's just what you need if your looking for some relaxation and the nearest shopping centre is 30 minute drive away. But you can eat in the hotel if you want. I loved that the spa was only a few feet away.
Review 47:The location was in a great setting but a good 15-20 minute walk to the closest
Review 48:The staff were very friendly and helpful and the gym/spa area was well equipped extremely. For the price we paid, extremely good value
Review 49:Room was not properly "serviced" on first day of stay.Hoped to have some information on the history of the house prior to it becoming a hotel.
Review 50:Lovely old Elizabethan manor, great setting. Catering staff excellent, very impressed with enthusiasm and work ethic of the young bar staff-a credit to the hotel. The Catherine Parr room was sensational.
Review 51:Poor access and signage from annexe to main house. No welcome book in room. My daughters being told they couldn't swim at the time which the website and folder said they could. Being allowed in but feeling awkward. No response from hotel despite our complaints and being told manager would definitely email us.
Review 52:We could take our dog for free
Review 53:Lack of cleanliness in first bedroom. Relocate to heritage suit which had damp patches and peeling wall paper .
Review 54:Location of hotel in order to visit local attractions
Review 55:No bad experience, only gripe is it could of been a bit cleaner, but given how busy and pushed staff are I can under stand.
Review 56:Staff were great, spa was delightful, room was fine, beautiful grounds, had a lovely stay.
Review 57:Toilet in room leaking. Far too much noise with wedding. No sound proofing at all. Restaurant v basic. Room decor horrid. Water marks and wall damage.
Review 58:Location
Review 59:Leaving was hard.
Review 60:Staff were amazing and always friendly. Food portions were great and the price was unbelievable low for the high quality provided. Breakfast was stunning all in all the staff will do anything to provide a great stay in a beautiful location.
Review 61:The pillows are very cheap/poor quality which did not help sleep. The electric shower poor pressure and weird controls with no guidance. Bathroom needed ventilator as mirror clouded up too much. TV frequently subject to interference which spoiled programme.
Review 62:Clean, very well maintained. Reception and departure procedures faultless. Breakfast service and quality of food etc very good.
Review 63:I didn't like the fact that the swimming pool was 1.5m in depth, although that didn't affect us in any way. I didn't like the fact that we had to ask for the Jacuzzi to be put on every 10 minutes, I have been to places where it just stays on constantly.
Review 64:I liked the fact we were able to book through booking.com and get a very good deal for a spa hotel. I love the pool and idea of jacuzzi and steam room etc. The pool are was dimly lit which was fantastic.
Review 65:I had the belly pork as a bar snack, it did not represent value for money.... The gentleman in the gym could of been more helpful. The other issues I appreciate you cannot do anything about, no windows in the bar, restaurant isn't enticing, not somewhere you would look forward to eating in.
Review 66:Location was great. Room was great. The new girl behind the bar could not have been anymore helpful and friendly.
Review 67:Unfortunately the boiler in our building had a problem and we had no hot water overnight and on the first morning.
Review 68:The hot water problem was sorted quickly once I'd reported it. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the staff were lovely. We were upgraded to a three-room suite, complete with four poster bed, just 'because it was available'. Lots of choice for breakfast.
Review 69:the room had a few cracked tiles in bathroom + could do with a bit of repaint. also it would be better to say that u need madical certifacaite in advance if u are planning on having any treatments + have any health probs as it was quite disapointing for me 2 get there + find out i couldnt have any treatments as it was awfull for the staff 2 have 2 let me down to
Review 70:the staff was amazing they we really welcoming + helpful. it was also a very beautiful location , surrounding grounds + beautiful breakfast with plenty of chioces. great faciliteis the pool etc is outstanding all in all very relaxing + freindly thanks for a lovely stay
Review 71:The walls are very thin and we could hear everything that was going on in the next door room.
Review 72:The bar staff were very helpful and friendly and the Spa team were fabulous. Please remember to take cash with you as there is no facility to give them a gratuity.
Review 73:Our room was lovely but did have paper coming away from the wall above the fireplace which did let it down.
Review 74:The spa was very nice could give the changing rooms a makeover and better lighting in the pool as it was a bit dark but was still lovely. The bar meals are great and good value for money.
Review 75:The toilet cistern was faulty , which we reported on the first evening. It was not resolved. Also the room had been recently painted/plastered and we were always aware of this
Review 76:Rural quiet location with large room
Review 77:nothing
Review 78:The service and the location .This has been our 3rd visit to this hotel and has never let us down. The location is so peaceful and left us feeling so relaxed. The food in the restaurant was brilliant (the lamb was fab!) As it was a birthday treat for my wife, we were upgraded on arrival to the bridal suite which was a lovely touch and was huge, It was on 2 levels and had everything we needed, and was cleaned to a very high standard. We used the leisure facilities and these were again to a very good standard, the Jacuzzi being lovely. We had the most lovely treat from the hotel and its management which was a stunning bouquet of flowers, which delighted my wife and was a lovely touch. Thanks for a perfect time- we will definitely return again.
Review 79:A wonderful setting for a relaxing stay. The staff were brilliant, the room excellent and breakfast was superb. The spa facilities and pool were faultless.A lovely place to stay.
Review 80:Wow what an amazing place, such a beautiful setting, staff were so lovely and helpful. Am booking again to bring more family and friends we only stayed one night and so missed it when we left. Thankyou so much.
Review 81:booked this for my daughter and son in law to celebrate her birthday and their wedding anniversary they had a glorious time said staff could not do enough enjoyed the spa and came home thoroughly chilled . also I had requested some fruit to give them a surprise !! up turns strawberries and champers thank you so much. I think they will be returning next year
Review 82:Some of the areas were tired and in need of decorating - also the television on in the bar in the evening was intrusive and spoilt the atmosphere
Review 83:It was relaxing to use the spar facilities
Review 84:Bed was the worst I've ever slept in, Hannibal's elephants had a better nights sleep on the Alps, ( room 14 by the way). Bar prices were not cheap but isn't that what we're ment to expect?
Review 85:Setting was very relaxing, bar had good atmosphere and check in was quick and efficient.
Review 86:Found some of the staff quite miserable and even though we paid for a superior room, there wasn't much superior about it.
Review 87:The spa facilities were good and the mid week offer was good value for money.
Review 88:As the walls are thin in the rooms, blaring tvs are very disturbing, especially at 5:30am. On my last night there was a proms evening for a local school. All the students were outside until well after midnight which meant no rest for me. Parties like that are very inconsiderate for hotel guests and should not be outside hotel windows. When I mentioned this at check out, the lady didn't even know there had been a party. I feel I should have had a refund for that last night as I felt more exhausted than I did when I started my holiday! Not really the quiet country retreat I was hoping for. On another note, the bedrooms seemed very clean, but there was months of dust behind the bedside tables with hair pins and sweet wrappers behind it too. Attention to detail is lacking. Free wifi is certainly not up to scratch.
Review 89:The staff was very friendly. The fitness room and spa were very good. Bedrooms were comfortable.
Review 90:Elizabeth on reception was very friendly and helpful . Beautiful grounds. Peaceful. Comfortable bed and a quiet night's sleep. Attractive pool/ jacuzzi area.
Review 91:The only things that let it down was my friends room wasn't cleaned properly it was not ready wen we got there also the towels smelt of grease and the following morning be for we came home we used the pool etc and there was some old lady that complained bout the children splashing they wasnt doing it on purpose they was simply enjoying them selfs the way she spoke to them was out order also made a complaint and we was asked to leave the pool by the man that was on reception at the gym as he said we had to be out by 12 with the children but we was not told this by him wen we signed in as we didn't get in there till 11.20 you should at least have this up somewhere people with children can see so we wasn't happy with the way he delta with it if people have problem with the children using the facilitys then maybe you shouldn't have children go there or even just have a set time wen there no adults using it while the kids are there
Review 92:I came up with my 14yr old daughter as a birthday treat for her also came with friends and there children it was a lovely night stay enjoyed it my daughter was loving the spa facilities couldn't wait to use them the next be for we came home .
Review 93:As we were celebrating our 6 year anniversary te staff upgraded us to the cottage which was very special for us as we got married in the cwrt blydyn and celebrated our wedding night in the cottage
Review 94:I could not connect to the hotel wifi so gave up after 30/40 mins of trying. The shower in the morning was not hot I would say close to being warm! There was a party at the hotel and my room overlooked the entrance where smokers sat outside until late so noisy.
Review 95:Nice and comfortable room with friendly staff. Arrived at hotel late and did use any facilities. Also left before breakfast so can't comment on this.
Review 96:Was a little disappointed with breakfast as nobody asked what we wanted on our breakfast was just given to us with a pile of beans poured over the top now if your like us we like to see what we are eating.. So breakfast was a big disappointment for us :((
Review 97:Rooms and spa were lovely, really enjoyed.
Review 98:Very shabby restaurant area, and very grubby floors, chairs and tables. Really needs refurbishing. Staff need training on customer care and how to give a good service.
Review 99:Gardens and beautiful.
Review 100:Fire alarm going off around 12.30 in the night. Woke me up and took a little while to get back to sleep.
Review 101:Food and leisure facilities were great. Nice relaxing couple of days
Review 102:Limited jam at breakfast- Really strange because I never had that before in a stay. Only Blackcurrant Honey or marmalade.
Review 103:Beautiful spacious room Great leisure Wonderful grounds
Review 104:We stayed for two nights in June 2015 for our Wedding Anniversary - I requested champagne put in the room prior to our stay - went like clockwork along with the flowers I requested - The Staff were very helpful and friendly - The food was excellent also!
Review 105:Our room was not cleaned on one of the days. Our booking for superior double said we would have a bath but we didn't get one. Very short staffed. Mistakes made on bill in restaurant we asked for steak sauce 3 times and it never came then we were charged for it!
Review 106:General location was lovely and hotel itself
Review 107:annex rooms in poor state being sold as standard rooms on booking.com. picture doesn't agree with description. room door left open all day by cleaner valuables were in room as no safe
Review 108:breakfast
Review 109:The Leisure Centre opening times are somewhat limited. Although good, the hotel is not as impressive as their website makes out.
Review 110:The staff were friendly, the location is beautiful and good if you want to get away from it all. The food was also impressive.
Review 111:Restaurant and drinks a bit expensive. No choice of cooked breakfast on 2nd morning apart from self service option which was a bit dried up.
Review 112:The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The setting was beautiful with trees, ponds, gardens and hanging baskets all well maintained. Spa also lovely.
Review 113:Easy to get to but still away from from any noise! Lovely room and beautiful surroundings! Didn't want to leave! Fantastic breakfast, free wifi and spa included though I didnt get to use the spa.
Review 114:The smell of fresh paint as soon as we entered the hall to our room and room it was strong in odour. and the beds were two singles pushed together to make one. very uncomfortable. and a loud tv next door till all hours.
Review 115:gym facilities, Grounds peace and quiet and the morning cooked breakfast was most welcomed.
Review 116:Internet connection a little slow and bar menu options limited
Review 117:Location was beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Room as large and airy, bed very comfortable with a quality feel. Very very good nights sleep!!
Review 118:our room was of a very low standard all furnishings just worse for wear should have been made over along time ago, such a shame to let out rooms like this in such a nice hotel,
Review 119:staff very good, lovely setting ,pool gym sauna were an attraction to this hotel.
Review 120:The room itself was very poor and dilapidated. Walls were badly stained, the paint was chipped, furniture was old and in poor shape, cobwebs hung from the ceiling above the bed and the electrics kept cutting out when we watched tv. The carpet was not clean and looked 40 years old. Very poor value for money considering what we paid and we were so disappointed with the room I wish we had stayed elsewhere.
Review 121:The grounds and location are beautiful. The staff were absolutely charming, in particular the restaurant team.
Review 122:Evening Restaurant food was good without being great but stay was very good.
Review 123:Pool was great , countryside lovely . Staff good, Breakfast was yummy (Scrambled eggs with salmon )
Review 124:The hotel needs a little updating. We booked a superior room but I'm not convinced it was a suoerior room. The bathroom floor tiles were cracked and the overall decor needs an upgrade.
Review 125:Great location for a short break. The leisure facilities were good. Dinner at the hotel was good though the vegetables were warmed in the microwave. Breakfast was average - it was waiter service the first morning but self service the second morning because of the number of people there but it didn't seem that bust to me.
Review 126:Inside, has been poorly designed and decorated. Its a real shame that someone would do this to an old building. Also in need of a good clean!!
Review 127:The grounds of the hotel and building from the outside, are lovely. The reception staff and the lady in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful.
Review 128:We stayed in room 15, right outside our room was a corridor fire door divider and every time somebody went through the door it SLAMMED shut. Also, the cleanliness of the hotel was comprised with the wedding party(s) when we were there. Also, my partner had to report a very disgusting "issue" in the female toilets. Without going into to much details, she had to wash and change her shoes.
Review 129:The facilities and grounds were immaculate. Staff were friendly and helpful and room was conveniently located close to reception area.
Review 130:Nothing it was as expected in fact better than expected for the price I paid and I would certainly come again. The dinner I had was excellent too.
Review 131:Wanted somewhere convenient and welcoming for my dog. Room fine and close to dining room etc. field at back perfect for dog early am and last thing at night - could do with doggie bin.
Review 132:Very minor grouse - the arm chairs in the room were looking very tired - as were bits of the wall decor. But overall this did not detract from a great overnight stay.
Review 133:Good-sized room, excellent bed and bedding and super TV (both screen and channels), friendly and helpful staff, lovely views and grounds.
Review 134:Quite a limited dinner menu which appeared to be the same every night.
Review 135:The hotel was easy to find and the setting really beautiful. The staff were friendly and very helpful and everywhere looked spotless.
Review 136:Price of the drinks at the bar, excessively priced I would say but I guess you don't have to drink them.
Review 137:Gym, spa and pool facilities were very good for hotel. The gym was probably better than average for a hotel. It was also very quiet ( not many people using the facilities ) maybe we were just lucky to have it that way due to the times we we're stay and using the facilities.
Review 138:I had a room in the out building even though my booking.com confirmation said i had a room in the main building. The room had such creaky floors i had to ask to be moved in fear of disturbing guests in the room below. Unfortunately they could not offer me any other room.
Review 139:Friendly restaurant staff. Good food!
Review 140:We wanted to have a bar meal around 7.30 however it was full of very loud rowdy wedding guests with no space to sit. We went to the receptionist who suggested we had room service or wait until they went to their allocated area.I understand there was a service charge of £4 for room service which could have been waived in the circumstances but we waited until the bar was clear around 8pm
Review 141:Room nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent. Most reception staff nice bar one! Spa facilities
