Reviews for Crow Park Hotel
Review 1:If I had to pick anything it would only be that there was a draft coming through the window in room 7. But it didn't spoil our stay at all. It was raining and blowing a gale outside!
Review 2:Lovely welcoming clean hotel. Breakfast was scrumptious, infront of log burner. :-)
Review 3:all the staff were very friendly with us pointing us in the right direction on our walk to catbells would def go back but hopefully it doesn't pour down with rain next time plus breakfast was gorgeous
Review 4:Nothing.
Review 5:Excellent location just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre with its own car park which is an absolute bonus. Very friendly staff. Lovely room and we had a wonderful view of the mountains and lake from our window. The range of whiskies in the bar is one of the most extensive I've seen anywhere which was a wonderful surprise!
Review 6:Welcome was friendly and efficient. Room beautifully clean. Bed comfortable. A short hop from the centre of Keswick. Good range of offers for breakfast which was very tasty.
Review 7:Noise of the Central heating going on and off and poor soundproofing between rooms. We unluckily had a loud and noisy neighbour, which is not the hotels fault!
Review 8:The staff were friendly, breakfast was very good and location excellent. Our room(no6) is a signature room with terrific views over Catbells etc. Good parking at the back
Review 9:Horrid toast- tasted like value bread and not sufficiently toasted- soggy and under cooked. No biscuits in the room
Review 10:Location and mountain views from the room. Good museli.
Review 11:Not being able to get dinner on arrival in the evening due to pre booking requirement. No lift - as a person with a spine problem going up flights of stairs was difficult. Walls very thin - heard everything happening next door. Including loud noise when next room residents returned home drunk.
Review 12:Location
Review 13:Lot of stairs if your room at the top floor, and there' no lift, so ask if this would be difficult for you.
Review 14:Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Views and location couldn't be better. Parking is available, but a bit tight. Food is cooked perfectly.
Review 15:Felt that we suffered from a combination of having booked only 1 night and also having booked through Booking.com
Review 16:Location of hotel in respect of The Theatre on the Lake
Review 17:Shower was dribble , no bath, single room a bit small for all my walking gear!!Room itself rated as just adequate!Top floor room with no lift , heavy luggage for walking trips!!!Pensioner breathless at room door!
Review 18:Location, car parking facility, overall pleasant internal common areas.Bar, breakfast.Comfy bed.
Review 19:Clean room, comfortable bed and bathroom, friendly staff, good breakfast, tea making utensils, near main bus station, close to Derwentwater, near theatre in the lake, great views.
Review 20:No Shower, only a bath. Lock on bathroom door broken.
Review 21:Perfect location to walk to local pubs! Staff very welcoming. Great breakfast with attentive staff. Nice hotel. 140 tariff in keeping with all prices of establishments in central keswick. Free parking at the hotel is a godsend.
Review 22:Booked in was given room number and key only to find room was occupied by another guest could have been embarrassing also told only few stairs to second floor untrue found it difficult as had ankle replacement
Review 23:Comfortable bed
Review 24:This is a lovely friendly hotel in a good location for the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick. The staff are always very helpful, especially to solo travellers like myself.
Review 25:apart from the bar it was very much a B&B at twice the price, staff were very good. We were in room 22, 72 stairs up, no lift.
Review 26:Very clean overall, and very comfortable bed
Review 27:Lovely location close to the centre of town and the lake. Accommodation was a very comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good quality food that was nicely presented.
Review 28:Horribly uncomfortable narrow "double" bed - no sleep. Appalling décor, nasty, badly decorated room, no dinner available so we went to the hotel next door which was very good. We will stay there next time.
Review 29:The staff were friendly, hardworking and efficient.
Review 30:My room had only a bath with handheld shower head. I would prefer to have proper shower. This was not a big problem though.
Review 31:I had a lovely view to Derwent Water, the charming room had everything I needed. Staff were very friendly and informative. Location was close to the lake and the town centre, but very quiet at night. Breakfast was great too.
Review 32:This is not a hotel, not even a decent guest house. Facilities less thanbasic. No lounge area. Evening meals ridiculous price though did not eatthere. At £120 per room extortionate for what was offered. Room toosmall - single room with a double bed & badly laid out. En suite toosmall. Second class service - told was because booked throughBooking.com agency. Management would not exchange room unless paid £30extra. Uht milk was off. No biscuits, hot chocolate, bottled water, phone or clock/clock radio in room. No early breakfast availableunless ordered in advance. Had to pay full price in advance. Could notcancel. Staff unhelpful. Information in their brochure totallymisleading. Conflicting times given for meals and the cost. In myopinion I should be given a full refund from you as booked through you.I would never stay there again ever
Review 33:The bed reasonably comfortable.
Review 34:Lots of stairs to climb to bedroom (52), although we were on the top floor.
Review 35:Friendly staff, good breakfast, private parking Good location 5 minutes from town centre
Review 36:They have 2 types of signature rooms: with bay window and with regular window for the same price. We got the room without the bay window and it was definitely overpriced adding a sad note to our vacation. I would not go back :( Try booking from their website, might get lucky.
Review 37:Location is perfect and staff is attentive
Review 38:Everything was first class
Review 39:A great location The access to the shops, bars and restaurants was only a few minutes walk away Friendly staff We couldn't fault a thing
Review 40:Very friendly staff. Good location. Nice breakfast and a clean room with good shower. Car park was available to use the day of our check out to spend the day on keswick.
Review 41:Lots of stairs, a problem if you have mobility difficulties. No shower in our room
Review 42:Parking good Easy access into Keswick town centre Staff very helpful superb location Good choice of places to eat for lunch and / or evening meal
Review 43:This was a very charming hotel in close distance to town centre. The bed was super comfortable, the breakfast yummy and the staff all extremely nice and friendly.
Review 44:Excellent location with wonderful views from the hotel yet located within easy reach of the town centre shops. Also a 5-10 minute walk away from the excellent Theatre by the Lake. Friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable room and really good breakfast. I intend to stay again!
Review 45:Third floor a little strenuous for two ladies in their seventies!! Heating didn't come on in the room as it got a little chilly in the evenings.
Review 46:Convenient situation. Fabulous view from the front door!
Review 47:The person in the next room was using bad language once or twice which I could hear from my bed. My room was Skiddaw. The shower was noisy.
Review 48:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Review 49:Carrying our cases up 3 flights of stairs! But it was worth it!
Review 50:This was a wonderful hotel in a fabulous location. Our room was great with a wonderful view and the best bed! The staff were very friendly and breakfast was wonderful.
Review 51:Our room came with a bath only and the wifi was almost useless. Breakfast was also very basic.
Review 52:Friendly staff and good location. A very nice and authentic historic feel. Free parking for residents.
Review 53:Having requested sheets & blanket when booking, on arrival, was told that they were left on the bed . i.e make your own bed!!! All those steps.
Review 54:Proximty of hotel to theatre. Having a free carpark
Review 55:???
Review 56:Our experience was excellent. The staff were excellent too. The breakfast was good quality with curtius and efficient staff. Paul was very helpful as the car park was full. He arranged for us to park in the driveway of a local house holder. Brilliant. Bottled water in the room would have been nice. But that's what we would expect anywhere. Definitely going back. Ken & dace. ?
Review 57:Excellent service and food, Great location to explore Keswick and see the hills and Derwent Water. The sound of sheep, dogs and enjoyment of walkers and families was very pleasant. Parking will a real plus.
Review 58:It is inconvenient that bathroom is outside the bedroom and not soundproof can easily hear the noise.
Review 59:llocation, closed to bus station, clean, small but enough.
Review 60:The hotel has a good location just on the edge of the town center and is just a short walk to all shops/pubs/restaurants etc. Car parking is good with the hotel having its own spaces at the rear and free on street parking to the front.
Review 61:The staff could have been 'more present' and helped with luggage...as it was a steep climb up three flights of stairs (no elevator). There needs to be a clearer explanation of the location and entrance to their carpark.
Review 62:The scernery was wonderful and the access to town and tourist facilities was excellent. Central convenience. A clean and spacious room.
Review 63:Unfortunately the wifi wasn't working but didn't bother us as we were hardly in the hotel.
Review 64:Fantastic staff! Bedroom was very clean! Amazing view and breakfast was great! And very good parking facilities
Review 65:The staff were very friendly. The hotel was nice and clean. The pictures on the walls gave you a View of how things were in the Lake District years ago.
Review 66:The room was on the ground floor and was not what was confirmed on the booking, probably because we had booked the final room. It was not good value at the price we paid. The room appeared to be an add on come annexe. Room skiddaw
Review 67:Close to town centre. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 68:Cost of Beer in the bar, this discouraged social drinking in the Hotel. The number of steps there are to gain access to the front door..
Review 69:The views over Hope park and up the valley
Review 70:Not a bad experience, BUT, I don't like memory foam mattresses - they do not work for my dodgy back.
Review 71:I was taking part in The Jazz Festival. Hotel Ideally situated between all the venues.
Review 72:Would have liked some de café coffee sachets as well as original. Pillows could have been a bit softer.
Review 73:The weather, the location and the view from our bedroom
Review 74:The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great - handy for town centre shops & restaurants. The view from our room was fantastic, although we had to climb a lot of stairs to get there!! Breakfast was really good. All in all a good stay and we will return.
Review 75:We paid £120 for a standard room and were extremely disappointed. The room wasn't in keeping with the hotel at all and we felt we had been ripped off. There was no shower, the bath was dirty, the decor in the bedroom was a big unprofessional clash of dated patterns on the wallpaper and curtains, we were right next to reception and we looked out onto a brick wall.
Review 76:The location was brilliant as were the staff and breakfast.
Review 77:We rang the hotel and asked for a bottle of Chablis to be put on ice, to be left in the room - the response was 'we only do wine'. Puzzling!! We finally got a bottle of chardonnay (it was not a good bottle) There was no restaurant. The dining room opened at 5.45 and closed at 7.30pm (shades of 1960's Blackpool)
Review 78:The breakfast. The Breakfast Staff. Bed comfy, room pleasant, nice view. Ideal location for our needs. There was parking.
Review 79:disappointed for the money Stopped in just as good b&b's for a lot less, noise from other rooms , no on suite shower , coffee facility's but no biscuits
Review 80:good location , friendly staff, Nice food, cleanliness ,
Review 81:Great position within easy walk of all the facilties in keswick. Fabulous view from bedroom of lake and mountains. Staff friendly and efficient. Would return again
Review 82:Was disappointed at the plastic beakers in the bathroom and also the very small TV. This was wall mounted but couldn't be tilted or moved. The bathroom was also smaller than expected.
Review 83:The location of the Hotel is ideal, five minutes from both Lake and Town Centre. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was fantastic. Views are brilliant from almost every window in the building.
Review 84:I really liked the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff - we actually felt as if they were pleased to see us and look after us and we therefore looked forward to going back at the end of the day..
Review 85:Sorry to moan, there was no hot water when I had a shower in the morning. We didn't make a fuss about it as the rest of the stay was very good
Review 86:The staff and the food were excellent. the hotel was very clean and engaging
Review 87:Wifi only worked near a window
Review 88:The staff were very friendly and the hotel was wonderful. Great location, room was fantastic and the breakfast exceeded expectation
Review 89:My only real criticism is that the free WiFi was problematic. A small gripe in comparison.
Review 90:The hotel is located between the shore of Derwent Water and the town centre of Keswick, making it a great location for both walking and heading into the town centre. The staff were really helpful and early check in was not a problem to them. The fact you can book one night at a weekend is a great bonus compared to other hotels and guest houses. The free off street parking is a great bonus in a busy town centre.
Review 91:A guest repeatedly banging on a door and calling out a name at 5.30am!
Review 92:Perfect location and hotel fully met my needs for an overnight stay in Keswick while visiting family. The staff were friendly and polite. Good quality breakfast and fabulous views from the dining room.
Review 93:Difficulty in finding car park no lock on bathroom door couldn't find staff always has to ring the bell at reception average breakfast overpriced
Review 94:There was'nt anything negative. The only suggestion I could make would be to develop the bar area to encourage its use.
Review 95:The hotel was well located. The staff were helpful and informative, and gave a very good service. The bedroom was very comfortable with great views across the park with the hills beyond. There was a log fire burning in the lounge which was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast choice was varied and very generous.
Review 96:The restaurant in the hotel was only available if we requested it in the morning. This was due to lack of customers. This was not properly explained but no doubt it would be a thriving place in the summer.
Review 97:The hotel location was good and there were plenty of places to eat in Keswick.
Review 98:Wifi only available in lounge and bar areas. Not in our own room.
Review 99:Wonderful views of Derwent Lake, close to all Keswick facilities. Very helpful staff, with good local knowledge and information. Secure bike storage available
Review 100:Housekeeper obviously thought establishment was hostel rather than hotel given that he told me that I was to check out prior to actual check out time. Dinner not available (except if pre-booked) Room door did not close properly and walls were thin
Review 101:This is not a criticism, merely an observation. If you were arriving by car and did not know the area around the Hotel you might, depending on the direction you were coming from, have difficulty initially in locating the car park
Review 102:Accommodation was excellent in a perfect location with panoramic views to the Lake and the surrounding hills. The Staff were extremely welcoming and willing. and eager, to answer your questions and to share their local knowledge with you.
Review 103:The staff are all very friendly and helpful excellent breakfast only complate he gives you to much !! Would recommend this hotel to friends as its in a very good location not far from the Lake and near to the Town.
Review 104:Wi-Fi did not work in room 20
Review 105:Staff were local, courteous and friendly Nothing was a problem Breakfast was fantastic Location great for lake or centre
Review 106:Couldn't fault anything but would recommend the elderly or infirm request a low floor room
Review 107:Friendly staff and management Superb setting of the hotel Fantastic views Cleanliness of the hotel Private car parking Superb quality of food Will definitely revisit this hotel again
Review 108:No lift with rooms on five floors was a disadvantage . The staff were very helpful in delivering all our luggage to the fifth floor, andreturning it to ground level on our departure
Review 109:Position of Hotel
Review 110:Suffering with arthritis, the climb up the steep front steps was a little daunting, but manageable. There is a car park around the back of the hotel, but until you book in, it is difficult to find.
Review 111:The hotel was lovely, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The view on the brochure is a little misleading as you can`t quite see the lake as I`d hoped, but this didn`t ruin my stay. Keswick itself is beautiful and the trip was well worth it.
Review 112:shower needs updating poor force of water. no lift and there were 56 steps to our room. no offer to help with the cases.
Review 113:position great views and quiet at night. friendly staff
Review 114:Dated bathroom. No shower even in 'superior' room. Toilet flush broke first night - repaired next day, broke again next night. £140/night hugely overpriced
Review 115:Staff friendly and helpful. Location close to town centre. Bed comfortable. Good views.
Review 116:Top floor room had 50 steps to get there phew!!!!
Review 117:View from Bedroom Window brilliant Fresh cooked breakfast each morning Friendly Staff Spacious Bedroom Very short walk lake and town centre
Review 118:Wifi was weak in our room but was more than made up for with the rest of the hotel and staff, I highly recommend it for your stay in the lakes
Review 119:The staff were so welcoming, helpful, and considerate, they really did make our weekend away the perfect stay.
Review 120:Creaky floorboards (you can hear every movement). Thin walls ( you can hear every snore from next door)
Review 121:Friendly,helpful staff. Great breakfast. Beautiful location. Very comfortable large double bed in superior room.
Review 122:Comfortable, relaxed and friendly hotel. Bedrooms spotlessly clean and well furnished with all the facilities you could need. Great breakfast (didn't try the evening meal but that looked good too). Good position, only a short walk from Keswick centre and the lake but really quiet and peaceful. All staff very friendly and helpful. All in all a really good weekend, will certainly visit again.
Review 123:The friendliness of the staff and their commitment to a superb stay for all of their guests. The wet room bathroom was excellent and the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel enhanced our stay. We will definitely return.
Review 124:No lift No gym No mini bar in rooms No beer on draught Mother in law's room looked onto a brick wall. bathroom had a shower, but no bath.
Review 125:Friendly and helpful staff Excellent breakfast cooked to order Beautiful view over Derwentwater
Review 126:No atmosphere. We didn't book in for dinner as nobody else did & we didn't like the idea of eating alone. Didn't use bar for same reason.
Review 127:Room and bathroom clean. No shower, but we knew this when we booked. Breakfast plentiful and good choices. It was great to be able to walk to Keswick Main Street in couple of minutes and also to the lake and the start of many walks.
Review 128:No shower! Noisy through the night, it rained but double glazing didn't keep noise out. Breakfast very average. No wifi coverage in our room, at £66 per person it wasn't good value.
Review 129:Good views, good car parking
Review 130:Early morning, noise possible a/c unit right outside window. Window was into shabby passage magnifying noise. Ok for one night stay but not worth £120! Decor in room/bathroom tired for those prices.
Review 131:Comfy bed, good breakfast, allowed later check in. Staff friendly and polite.
