Reviews for Hôtel La Marisa

Review 1:Parking must be reserved before coming to hotel . There are not enough spaces for everyone! For the price we paid, the breakfast was somewhat basic. No fridge and no air conditioning would make staying in the summer impossible for me.

Review 2:Overall wonderful hotel and by French standards this translates to outstanding hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Slept very well in comfortable bed. Clean room and elegantly decorated. Very calm, peaceful and convenient location next to the beach and downtown. Definitely will be back for a winter stay.

Review 3:Lovely staff, 12e breakfast well worth it, meticulously clean rooms, superb location a short block from the ocean, ocean glimpses from room, lovely ocean sounds all night. Comfortable and a great value. Small but enchanting hotel. Will stay again.

Review 4:Staff/owner were so helpful and wonderful to work with! Perfect location!!! And rooms were beautifully appointed. Such a nice hotel that we extended our stay a third night.

Review 5:only english TV channel was CNN

Review 6:Excellent position, close to beach, shopping, restaurants and train station. Also very quiet area throughout day and night.

Review 7:The cost of breakfast was expensive (20E) so we ate elsewhere. Air conditioning would have been good.

Review 8:The location was perfect. Close to beach & restaurants. Very friendly staff who went out of their way. Well presented hotel with lovely back garden.

Review 9:The hotel had superior rooms available and asked if we would like to pay for an upgrade, which is not best practice (either offer a free upgrade, or say nothing). Our room was small and dingy.

Review 10:In a good position close to the sea and the tourist area.

Review 11:the room was rather small, but no problem for us!

Review 12:the furniture, all the books you could enjoy in confortable armchairs, the breakfast place, the location near the ocean, but in a quiet little street

Review 13:Despite it being the off-season, with many places closed, we had a lovely stay at the Hotel Marisa. Staff were helpful and kind, and Saint Jean de Luz was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended.

Review 14:Location is a weakness. If they advertise a sea view, it is between buildings.

Review 15:Old fashioned charm and quality.Very congenial staff willing to help make your visit a good memory. English spoken.

Review 16:The bedroom was expensive for me as a single occupant and was rather small especially the shower room

Review 17:Madame sylvie and her staff were charming. The location was excellent for the beach and very quiet at night . Breakfast in the garden was delicious and attractively presented.

Review 18:Our room looked out on the street, which could be somewhat noisy early in the morning. if you are very sensitive to noise, it would be preferable to request a room on the side or back of the hotel. Also, make sure to request a spot in the hotel's private garage to avoid having to go to one of the city's parking-lots, which tend to be expensive and hard to find!

Review 19:The hotel is small with only 17 rooms, so the staff know their guests by name. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel in general exudes a lot of charm! We spent much time in the library, which offered a variety of books, including excellent guidebooks in a number of languages. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and always available for help. Breakfast, served until 10:30AM indoors or on a nice outdoor patio, was delicious, copious and always included some fresh homemade cake! Tea was available in the breakfast room in the evening. The hotel is just a few steps away from the beach, and its location is very close to shops and restaurants.

Review 20:Huge bathroom with bathrobes and good quality towels. Excellent breakfast.Complementary bottle of cava in the room.

Review 21:A great hotel in a great location.

Review 22:No complaints at all.

Review 23:The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great.

Review 24:I think the breakfast price was expensive, 12.-Eur without buffet, is not according to this hotel.

Review 25:Helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, comfortable bed and especially the quietness of the hotel.

Review 26:Perfect location.far above staff friendliness. Gret recommendations. We will definitely be back.

Review 53:Where to start?. Staff 5* + deserve a special mention. Nothing too much trouble for them - from a drop of fresh milk to detailed directions for wherever we wanted to go. The restaurant & bar suggestions espcially good. Lovely hotel, clean & well located. Loved our visit & intend to return in the spring.

Review 54:The room was maybe a little small and the lighting could have been better.

Review 55:The hotel was so quiet. No banging doors, no flushing noises, no rattling pipes. Bliss

Review 56:Price of breakfast. If we had booked direct with the hotel, we would have had breakfast included in the price which was the same as that charged by booking.com without breakfast. Room a little small if staying for more than a few days.

Review 57:Friendly staff. Good location.

Review 58:Small personal hotel with well thought-out facilities, just off the mainpromenade, a beautifully private enclosed garden area in which you couldhave breakfast or just take time out. Charming receptionist - Mehdi. Andpleasant staff.

Review 59:The room was small and there wasn't enough space for our luggage. The hotel plumbing was also very noisy. The breakfast was expensive so we ate out at other establishments.

Review 60:The staff were lovely and very welcoming.

Review 61:The hotel couldn't control the heavy rain of our first three dayswhich greatly dampened our spirits and hopes for a seaside break. Inturn we had to spend a disproportionate time in what was really a rathersmall room

Review 62:Most impressive staff, especially the receptionist who sorted amislaid car key problem for us. Good decor and lighting. Plenty ofcoathangers! Excellent location in the old town with everything withinfive minutes walk

Review 63:There is absolutely nothing I could say here

Review 64:It genuinely was a lovely little hotel, with terrific staff and very comfortable facilities. I would definitely stay here again and encourage others to do so. It is perfectly situated for the beach and town.

Review 65:Internet service was very spotty. Parking garage was $15 which I thought was expensive. Breakfast not worth the price.

Review 66:Medhi at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Review 67:Charming decor, lovely building with gorgeous woodwork, pleasant courtyard, friendly staff, excellent location for enjoying the small town of St, Jean de Luz and for day trips into the countryside. The beach is beautiful but it was not beach weather when we stayed. As previously noted in other reviews, parking is in a garage a short walk away but easy to access and secure.
