Reviews for Arena

Review 1:In our room (the last one in the corridor) Wifi connection was very low.

Review 2:Location is easy to find. The owner in the reception is very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean

Review 3:Location is not amazing but it was just to sleep for a wedding so its ok to be in a zoning

Review 4:Very friendly, clean, free wifi everywhere, flexible with time to check in and check out

Review 5:-

Review 6:Very friendly lady in reception, helped us with bus/tram connections. Bus/tram stop near hotel, good connections to city centre. Room absolutely ok for our family. Several restaurants in absolute walking distance. Parking outside, large gate locked in the night, but small walking gate was open.

Review 7:I have found better value for money elsewhere. The breakfast is definately NOT worth the money.

Review 8:The hotel is very close to the exit from the motorway and is suitable for a short stop-over. The rooms are small with the most basic facilities, but they are both quit and clean. The free WiFi is working fine.

Review 9:Very poor breakfast. Overall this hotel is expensive. No fridge in the room.

Review 10:Nice that we could park the car in the hotel's private parking area. There are many restaurants close to the hotel. You can get a 10% discount at the restaurant pataterie as a client of "arena"

Review 11:Poor and too expensive breakfast. There are few restaurants, including McDonald's near by so you better eat somewhere else rather than pay around six Euros for some butter and jam.

Review 12:The room was clean. Beds comfortable. Staff polite, speak only French.

Review 13:Everything was fine. Just to be picky, the tap in the toilet has a tricky nozzle with very small holes, which spray very little quantity of water but with very high pressure, thus resulting in splashing everywhere.

Review 14:Private parking, friendly staff, good wifi, just 500m out of the highway, very silent in the night as inside a commercial area where everything closes after 8-9pm.

Review 15:Breakfast, no protein source at all just sugar sugar sugar. Meat and eggs would be a huge improvement. The coffee was very good though.

Review 16:Location Staff very friendly and helpful Nearby Tram Stop Nearby Restaurants

Review 17:Breakfast we served too late for us and what was on offer was very basic, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 18:Close to the motorway, basic accommodation, only really suitable for an overnight stop-over but we all had a good night sleep.

Review 19:The room was perfect for our family, comfortable, clean, near numerous restaurants, only 20 minutes from the Mediterranean, and just off the autoroute. The staff was very friendly.

Review 20:The mattresses where very hard and we all had bad backs by the end of the holiday. But we did stay for 16 nights, a few days would have been fine.

Review 21:The location was excellent for catch the tram which is a great way to travel. The rooms where cleaned daily cleanliness excellent. The staff are really friendly and helpful going above and beyond. There was no noise from the other rooms and the breakfast was continental but plenty of choice.

Review 22:We have used ARENA several years - despite hard mattresses. NOW the mattresses are worn out and we both got a bad back and a bad / no night's sleep. The young (around 30 years) man at the reception was certainly nice and helpful but he can not or will not speak nothing but French. We speak 4 languages and understand another 3 - and still could not communicate with the receptionist! We had ordered and confirmed the desire for a quiet room - and were shown the room next to the elevator! The rich breakfast buffet as described on booking.com is a complete joke.

Review 23:ok wifi

Review 24:weak internet signal

Review 25:The breakfast was not enough if you compare with hotels in this category all around Europe.

Review 26:The security of the parking The communication with codes

Review 27:Great place to stay to break up trip across south of France plenty of nearby resteraunts

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Great budget hotel near amenities, shops & short drive to Montpellier

Review 30:communication was a bit difficult

Review 31:The Location, close to the highway Good for one night (stop over).

Review 32:Location, small room

Review 33:Electronic code for room door, gate, purchased with machine or online

Review 34:the mattress and pillows were not the most comfortable.

Review 35:no noise from other rooms, which is fantastic in these kinds of hotels!

Review 36:Close to motorways and had restaurants close by. Rooms have recently been refurbished.

Review 37:Breakfast for this money have to be much better......

Review 38:on par with premier inn close to restaurants etc

Review 39:Nothing.

Review 40:Great for a one-night stop-over; supermarket and eateries nextdoor. Lovely staff.

Review 41:the code for the late arrival was not working

Review 42:Location, breakfast

Review 43:Sleep quality, parking

Review 44:Had to hold the shower head o shower. Seems to be a common problem

Review 45:Quiet and comfortable close to restaurants and 5 min walks to city tram into Montpellier.

Review 46:Nothing at all

Review 47:Very convinient location if you travel by car. Easy to find by gps. Very nice private free parking. Clean and modern room with all the necessary things. There is a lift. Wi fi is very fast in every room. Ideal variant for those who travel by car.

Review 48:Perfect location if you just need a one night stop. Situated into the comercial zone but quiet. 1 km to Carrefour market where you can find a gas station with the cheapest price on France.

Review 49:nothing

Review 50:excellent quality for the price. easy and secure parking. quiet, clean, big comfortable bed. easy to find, close to highway. helpful reception

Review 51:The breakfast is very poor.

Review 52:Perfect choice for those who travel by car and make a stop in Montpellier for just one night. The rooms are quite new and very clean. Wi-Fi is fast.

Review 53:is some cases there was as sent of smoke entering the hotel lobby.

Review 54:good value for money, comfortable rooms for a budget hotel. various options for dinner near by, I liked the dinner at Campanile hotel.

Review 55:The location. Although there are a few restaurants around, it is an industrial area far away from town with nothing to do in your free time.

Review 56:A nice, clean and modern hotel with comfortable rooms. The furniture and the bathroom necessities are basic as you have to expect for the surprising low price you pay. The lady at the reception is very friendly and helpful. The parking is locked over night. The breakfast is pretty sufficient for French conditions. If you arrive after closing of the reception (21:30) you can still get your room by paying by CC at the automat at the entrance which will give you your code for entrance to the hotel and your room. All in all a good econmic place for a stopover for one or maybe two nights but no more.

Review 57:A kettle in the room would help a lot.

Review 58:This budget hotel is much better than others like Ibis budget, room/bed/bathroom are better. It was good value.

Review 59:The outside of the hotel is not pretty, but the inside is great

Review 60:The hotel was a great deal- new rooms with great comfortable design and fantastic staff. Modern and clean. Also ideal location next to big shopping and freeway, close to downtown- I would come back in a heartbeat

Review 61:It is a favourite mainly because of its location, close to the autoroute and to the place we have to visit. Quiet, secure car parking, restaurants nearby, good breakfast, friendly and not expensive.

Review 62:The one thing we would have liked were two pillows each - one pillow perperson is not enough.

Review 63:The receptionist was very helpful. We requested a quiet room andthat's what we got. The hotel is in a good location if you want toavoid staying in the city center. I believe the tram into town is nottoo far away. A bonus was it was situated within walking distance of acouple of restaurants and a big Chinese supermarket. It's a basichotel but then so is the price. The rooms were clean and warm. We woulddefinitely stay here again next time we pass that way.

Review 64:Good value, really clean , really basic, just what you need when you travel with children and are just passing a night on your way somewhere. Great mattresses and clean linens!

Review 65:I had trouble finding it coming from tramway stop. Recommend having hotel's phone number handy to call them for directions. The room did not have a luggage rack.

Review 66:It was very cheap compared to the other Montpellier hotels. Even though it was at the end of the tramway line, the trams run frequently (except late at night) and are very clean.

Review 67:We stayed here for one night on our way through. The room was very comfortable. There are a couple of restaurants very close by. Overall, we would recommend it for a stopover.

Review 68:Wash-basin was chocked. But it's not a big deal as

Review 69:This budget hotel is excellent in the sense that: 1. It is close to orange tram line 2 station Saint-Jean le Sec. It takes around 20-25 minutes to reach Place de Comedie from this station. 2. One china store is just in front of Arena. There are many shops around. Mcdonalds is also there close to Arena. 3. Auto check in facility is excellent. I checked-in/out at odd times. And for this reason I was given reservation code via email to access my reservation details and make payment. The important thing is that one must have VISA card to make payment if checking in outside mentioned hours. Email response is superb. 4. Family room was good with one double bed, one single bed and one more single bed kept underneath the double bed. Room is good for family as well as 4 adults as recommended by booking.com. 5. It's very new property and well maintained.

Review 70:It is located in a retail park, which we knew ahead of time. But with all the surrounding beauty of the area, it felt a bit grim.

Review 71:Good stop to break a long journey. Near tramway into Montpellier and near the main motorways. Air-conditioned. Clever idea of a third bed which was keep under the main double bed. This meant both our children had their own beds to sleep in, and the low height of this third bed meant we didn't worry about our youngest falling out.

Review 72:a more proactive/enthusiastic reception would be nice, after all, travelers have come a long distance driving and are tired.

Review 73:at the reception was not as attentive lady, she took us on request a blanket so that's a positive point. Sufficient parking space however with a trailer or baggage car a bit trickier. Fine, neat and clean rooms. Air conditioning worked perfectly. worth repeating, the hotel has left a positive impression on us.

Review 74:Nothing to do in the hotel itself other than sleep.

Review 75:Nice staff. Let us use hotel refrigerator. Free parking. Free Internet. Right off the highway &very easy to find.

Review 76:The only thing I would ask is that perhaps it would be handy to have a 'waiting room'. The other thing is to add to the website instructions on how to get to the hotel from Montpelier airport; Take the bus from the airport to the centre of town and then take Tram 1 and then Tram 2 to Jean de Vedas. This trip cost 2 euros 40 and was a bargain compared to a taxi journey of 30-40 euros. Get off the stop just before Jean de Vedas.

Review 77:As we arrived at midnight and there were no staff present to show us to our room, I found it a novelty to key in codes to access the front door and door of our room. The procedure was painless and efficient and it worked ie keying in all the relevant payment details and reservation number. The room was clean and nicely presented and we slept very well. It was a little difficult to shut the window, but all in all a good night. The water for the shower was hot and bathroom was clean and tidy. After we checked out, I asked if we could leave our bags whilst we checked out the environs and waited for our taxi. The lady at reception was very friendly and accomodating. She locked away our bags and gave us peace of mind.

Review 78:The only weak part was the late registration, but I imagine by limitingtheir staff hours they can offer good prices to their customers.

Review 79:We wanted an affordable hotel for our last night in France with ourfamily. As we had morning flights back to the usa we didn't want to betoo far from the airport. The Arena was perfect for what we wanted. Check-in is only after 5 P.M. unless you make arrangements ahead of time. Wearrived around 4:30 P.M. and walked across the street to the AsianSupermarket and browsed the store, bought ice cream and ate it in theshade waiting for the hotel to open. We found a good restaurant rightnext door which was convenient, and the children didn't have to stay uptoo late. The Arena is close to a freeway, so was easy to find after westopped at the first exit and enquired as to the location.

Review 80:No real dislikes but it lacks any sort of charactor

Review 81:Basic hotel well situated not far off the motorway good sized room plain breakfast served however there are plenty of restaurants very nearby

Review 82:It can be classified as hostel; there is no reception after 9pm;they gave me a code to enter to the hotel, the garage, and the roomwhich made me feel like in a campus rather than hotel; bathroom'sdoor was dirty inside and had dry yellow and red drops.. Pillowswere very small..

Review 83:Location is ok if you have a car, it has a parking and wifi in rooms

Review 84:We had some difficulties findng the bed for the second child (which wasunder the main bed), and there was no blanket cover for it.

Review 85:Decent budget hotel, clean and well-located.

Review 86:Poor breakfast

Review 87:Very helpfull staff

Review 88:All was nice, like usually

Review 89:Our bed wasn't too comfortable.

Review 90:Good value for the money if you have to stop for the night. Free wi-fi. Plenty of restaurants around.

Review 91:As allways perfect. Close to the motorway, very clean, a good bed, a good internet for free - and a good price. What do you need more ?

Review 92:A nice overnight stop hotel near the motorway

Review 93:Secure parking and the nearby restaurants.

Review 94:sometimes we heard a device-noise at the morning.

Review 95:clean and has big rooms with nice design.

Review 96:The staff didnt understand single word in english.Difficult to communicate. But friendly.

Review 97:The staff weren't friendly or helpful.

Review 98:The price was great, the rooms are clean and good location. The free wifi is excellent.

Review 99:Very clean, they speak english, wifi perfect. Good parking. Pricevery good.
