Reviews for The Crescent Hotel Harrow
Review 1:Although my room was clean unfortunately it had a stale smell probably due to the old carpet. The bed covers plus pillows smelt awful, so I had to cover the pillows with a towel from the bathroom in an attempt to mask the smell. To make matters worst the hotel decided to start doing repair work at 7:30am Saturday morning in the room next to mine. The hotel also advertises doing breakfast but non was available.
Review 2:The close proximity to Harrow shopping centre meant I was able to walk to shops and bars. I also liked that there was ample parking at the hotel.
Review 3:Did not feel I could come and go without buzzing in at the main entrance. Staircase was quite narrow to bring stuff up and down.
Review 4:Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was not far from town centre. Had free parking.
Review 5:The location was near Harrow-On-The-Hill tube and train station which was perfect for us. The staff were friendly and the room was in good condition. I would recommend this hotel.
Review 6:It seemed to be on a residential road in the middle of nowhere. I felt like I was visiting someone's house when I saw it and not a hotel.
Review 7:I liked the fact that it was cheap and available at such short notice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I also liked the fact that I could park in front of the hotel. If you just need a place to sleep like I did which is not far from London and Wembley then this is perfect.
Review 8:too small, and it seems have smells. i booked breakfast from booking, but hotel not have this. this should be mistaken by booking.
Review 9:quiet, free park for car
Review 10:The location of the hotel is perfect with shops, restaurants and tube station 10 minutes walk away. We stayed with our teenage son and our family room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful and made us feel very welcome and we had the added bonus of free parking. We will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again in the future and can certainly recommend it.
Review 11:Rude staff! Answered the phone saying 'hello' not 'hello the crescent hotel' like professional people should! Rang to ask for directions to the hotel and the answer I recieved was 'go to the nearest shop and ask them' staff were not helpful at all! Also online it said Wembley stadium is 3min walk from hotel when it's actually a 20min car journey! There was also things left in the room such as toiletries so obviously the room hadn't been cleaned! The bin was also full! It was more like sleeping in someone's house rather than a hotel, didn't feel comfortable at all!
Review 12:Although the room was mainly clean, the shower head and remote control needed a deep clean.
Review 13:The room and bed were comfortable. A bottle of water in the fridge for each guest was a good touch as no breakfast available at this hotel
Review 14:No Breakfast, Parking was difficult, although we managed in the end. Shower was much too small, could not bend down. No small table or chairs to sit on We were up in the loft and the staircase needs a further handrail at the top. Location was a bit grim
Review 15:Only met one member of staff at check in and check out. He was fine. Beds were comfy. Room was warm enough and clean
Review 16:No complaints.
Review 17:Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Great location near restaurants & town. More than comfortable. Clean, & suitable facilities. Hot water. Very quiet hotel, quiet location. Nice TV. Very basic accommodation:- low price, convenient location.
Review 18:Bed was a bit too soft for me but other then that no complaints. Great if you're stopping the night. Wouldn't book it for the a weekend depending on my budget :)
Review 19:Close to the train station, couple of bars near by. Clean room and bathroom. You get what you pay for, overall happy with the stay.
Review 20:There are bed bugs, rats, and I was coughing all through my stay. U booked for 2 days but had to leave after a day because u could not sleep due to rats & coughing all through. The place made me very sick and almost vomit. The staff refused to refund my last day since I could no longer cope. My suggestion is that the place should be closed, it's all deception and unfair. I wasted my my money and time
Review 21:Stayed 2 nights. Dated. If bedding was changed it would be far better. Pillows awful. Disappointed towels weren't changed so had to use wet towels next day. No-one around at all. En-suite small but adequate. Shower fine. Was ok for price we paid but could be improved.
Review 22:Location brilliant. Few minutes away from shops bars, tube station. 3 stops to Wembley Stadium which was ideal.
Review 23:No breakfast served at all, although there is a dining room. Seemed as though in the middle of decorating. The bar had been varnished and absolutely no bar stock.
Review 24:Quiet and comfortable. Room 201overlooks the garden. Adequate shower. Clean generally but carpets and decor a bit grubby.
Review 25:A few of the other guests were really loud and noisy at early hours. Which either woke me up or kept me awake
Review 26:The room was lovely and cosy. Comfortable feeling.
Review 27:Charged Double for the room as we only stayed one night to attend ACDC concert at Wembley. Landlord stated that as we only booked one night over weekend, he had to be compensated for loss of business due to customers not being able to stay over the whole weekend. Also didn't offer any Breakfast to maximise profits!!
Review 28:Close to Tube Station and local amenities
Review 29:not very happy people to.welcome you seemed like it was hard for them.to.smile
Review 30:Lovely room very clean.doesnt offer breakfast evan.thou its in there hotel booklet and also menu on the wall.should be removed.
Review 31:There was a menu in the room for breakfast, but when I went downstairs in the morning I was told that the hotel no longer offers breakfast.
Review 32:The room was very clean and comfortable. It was very close to the town and the train station but very quiet.
Review 33:had options for breakfast at I think around 8:30 everyday got downstairs at 8:30 and no staff around at all, after we walked to mcdonalds to get breakfast came back and waited in the living room for our ride home one staff member appeared but said nothing what so ever. manners and people skills are needed to run a hotel!
Review 34:Clean, private bathroom, comfortable beds
Review 35:Couldn't find any.
Review 36:I extended my stay from 5 days to 7 days. Staff is great. I was welcomed by the owner and all other staff were sincere and ready to help all the time. Cleaning is at the standart of a 4 star hotel. No need to pay 80-100 pounds for a night in another place. It's just 5-6 mins walk to Harrow tube and bus station.
Review 37:We are a young couple travelling the world, including third worldlocations & on a budget but this hotel was by far the worst.Management was rude & incompetent, we requested our sheets to be changed after two days with the same musty smelling sheets that were there when we got there but were told that the sheets weren't changed because one of our locked luggage bags were left on the bed. Came in at 9pm one night with said manager in the room next to us with his door open while blasting the television. No idea of customer service or hotel management. We have stayed in very basic hotels all over the world with much better service than this. The hotel itself is not clean with floors that creak, which can be heard at all times of the night. The bedding & towels smell dusty, old & the shower makes a horrible loud fan sounding noise which doesn't stop even 10-15 minutes after use. Also our luggage had been opened while we were out of the hotel with some items being moved around. The place really has nothing special to offer, it is not a clean or quite place, poorly managed & definitely no value for money. Regret staying here.
Review 38:carpets were dirty in room. The room has lack of space. I did not have sufficient space to open my suitcase. I used bed to open my suitcase. No air freshener in toilet
Review 39:Nice staff,
Review 40:Cheap and cheerful hotel in a quiet location. Clean room and hotel, friendly and helpful owner/staff. 5 minute walk to the local shopping centre and tube station as well as the bus station. A perfect base for just putting your head down for the night whilst planning the rest of your time in around London.
Review 41:Wooden floors in general, not just in the hotel. And some neighbours smoking (cigar or something) inside, with their windows open, inside of going outside the building. The smoke was drifting into my room. I had to close the window.
Review 42:The helpful staff; the location did help me travel to the city centre easily, and the homely surrounding.
Review 43:Everything was fine. The hotel is not purpose built but is several properties all enjoined to create the hotel. We had cancelled our stay at the nearby Best Western because of issues over problems with the room we were being allocated. Had to find another hotel locally at short notice, so reserved the Crescent. Very happy with our stay at the Crescent Hotel, and will be staying again in May.
Review 44:Apart from the 'phone in the room and free wifi, there were no other facilities at all. I had understood that there was a bar and could have killed for a beer when I arrived but it was shuttered and I could see that the stock was pretty pitiful. The bathroom was small and had that "musty" smell - ventilation was a small extractor fan - and the shower cubicle was really small.
Review 45:The room was clean and the beds were comfortable and for us the location was ideal because we were attending a 2-day event at the Harrow Campus of the University of Westminster (Harrow Campus). We slept well and woke refreshed.
Review 46:The welcome from the owner was warm and friendly. He was very helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay and would book again.
Review 47:We booked 3 rooms on a weekend and were more than happy with everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable and nice and warm. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. They were so friendly and welcoming letting us know where everything we wanted was and where to go. They sorted taxis out for us too. Very trustworthy people as one of our gang left his wallet in the bedroom draw which he hadn't even noticed and they rang me within 20 mins of leaving to tell me. I would book to stay here anytime I'm in London again. There was 6 of us and we'd all give them 5 stars.
Review 48:The room was clean though looked old, especially linens and pillow, no smell though, but far not looking fresh.
Review 49:Staff at reception was available 24/7, very informative and helpful.
Review 50:There was a strange smell from the bathroom but we sprayed air freshner to make it better. The shower water was lukewarm but I wasn't sure if that was due to the fact I couldn't work out which dials were for what!
Review 51:The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The tube was a 5 minute walk from the hotel which was very good.
Review 52:No bath. Old-fashioned decor. Soap had run out.
Review 53:Really nice, welcoming place. Its not the Ritz but its fantastic value for money and its near town centre. People were very helpful and kind. Room was nice; large double. Quite old-fashioned in decor and dated; however acceptable. Shower was lovely - no bath which is a shame. Would stay here again. Very quiet and got a good night rest.
Review 54:In terms of cleanliness, this hotel needs to do some basic training. The room was in damped condition and smell of cigarette smoke was everywhere as if a heavy smoker just left the room. I also found some mosquitoes in the room!
Review 55:Positive things: The hotel is located very near to Harrow on the hill station and there is a big mall less than 5 mins walking distance. The staffs are quite helpful and wifi signal is good enough. The shared bathroom was clean but not into high level. This is ok hotel if you want to stay somewhere cheap but not a good value for comfort.
Review 56:i would have liked a top sheet on the bed - the duvet covering me had obviously covered many many people previously so sleeping with that covering me was not nice
Review 57:the owner? / staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful
Review 58:The maze of corridors to get to my room. I did book a single room but the room was really small. Bed was very uncomfortable and pillow was smelly. It didn t feel very clean although bed linen was fresh. Hotel seemed like it needs updating And a freshen up.
Review 59:Check in was easy. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Close to amenities and tube stations
Review 60:The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to park the car outside the front door on the drive for the whole weekend. The tube station was only a five minute walk. Room clean and had lots of space for the three of us. The hotel is basic with no frills but excellent value for money so we will be returning.
Review 61:The staff were so friendly and welcoming and as someone who has never been to London before they helped us out in finding shops, stadiums and were very helpful and patient. The hotel is literally 2minutes from the shops, train station and the bus station, great location for getting to places, I would definitely stay again as would like to thank the staff for their hostpotality.
