Reviews for Hôtel Le National

Review 1:No any sound isolation. Owner of the hotel has a dog, who is barking all the time while owner is avbsent, it can continue for hours. In the room next to me was a family with a baby. Each time the kid was crying, sound was as if it was happening in my room.

Review 2:Very nice owner who is ready to help in any deals

Review 3:Late check in was a little daunting but worked out well.

Review 4:Friendly staff including " guard" dog! Recent renovations retained original character of building while giving it a completely modern function. Convenient location.

Review 5:The owner, Renata, was so very helpful - providing guidance on what to see and do in St Etienne and how to travel to Firminy (I was attending a conference there!). The breakfast is very good. The room (4 Bis) was spacious and very clean with a modern shower. Real coffee was available just outside this room for just 1 euro. All was perfect. Close to the Railway Station (it is just behind Hotel Ibis) and the city centre is within walking distance.

Review 6:Slightly wobbly shower fittings, and room insulation not perfect, but it is a conversion in an old building and not a F1!

Review 7:Very Friendly and Helpful Reception and Staff. Perfect location close to the Station. Interesting and characterful. Good breakfast. Very French!! We really enjoyed our one night!!

Review 8:The lady who manages the hotel is very kind. I made a mistake with day of the booking but she gave us the room at the same price, she explained us about the town and she was very nice with our children.

Review 9:no lift, rooms are pretty small for moving around, washroom is much smaller.

Review 10:hotel owner is a nice lady will help you explaining everything. very near to train station. rooms are clean and tidy.

Review 11:nothing

Review 12:The Hostess Reantha Even though she spoke minimal English and I minimal French, we were able to communicate to each other When I explained to Renatha I was in St Etienne for an upcoming football match, she offered to find me a ticket for the match, which she didn't have to do and is an example of the kind hearted and sweet lady that she is

Review 13:No lift but owner took bag up to room when arrived.

Review 14:Could leave luggage for later pick up, even tho hotel closed that afternoon(Sun). Clean and comfortable room.

Review 15:Bathroom very little.

Review 16:Nothing was any trouble for our very kind host. We arrived with bikes in boxes, no problem, was happy to store them for us. Can't eat gluten, no problem, alternative breakfast was organised. It was a pleasant stay.

Review 17:No parking on site, had to drive to different location and use a card to get the car out basically needing the lady to take you there. The front door is locked often so had to use a code on side door. Neighborhood was a bit down, didn't think it was too safe to be out late.

Review 18:The lady who runs it is very nice and helpful.

Review 19:Half board for about €45 a night. Clean & friendly. The food is simple but you won't go hungry. A sort of upmarket hostel where you get your own bath room (shower).

Review 20:I feel like I'm at home. A warm welcome from the host, the staffs are very polite.

Review 30:close to the rail station very helpful lady owner and staff.very good value for money

Review 31:Room was very tiny.

Review 32:Hotel is quiet okay and rooms are quiet at least if they're out to the courtyard (I was there during the week so was not bothered by any nightclub).

Review 33:No elevator, Bar but no restaurant i believe, I had a very small room, nothing open in the evening around there

Review 34:Next to train station, Friendly welcome, There is a restaurant in another hotel nearby where you can eat a full menu for a decent amount, good for a single night

Review 35:Parking was not secure ( a "private" alley). Surrounding area is not the best, but I found a friendly welcome at the local bar. Will stay there again if I can sort the parking for the bike.

Review 36:Very comfortable room. Quiet (metal shutters), clean, bright (plenty of lighting), Wifi strong, friendly welcome, décor inviting and personal.
