Reviews for Hazelwood House

Review 1:Poor breakfast - processed cheese, toaster that did not toast, cheap tasting ham. Not overly friendly - did call me a cab.

Review 2:comfortable bed, decent shower

Review 3:Excellent location with plenty of parking. Very comfortable bed and lots of hot water. The owners and staff were friendly without being obtrusive. Very good breakfast. Would definitely recommend it.

Review 4:Tony (the owner) was very helpful and even managed to find some shoe polish for my boots. We stayed here when attending a rugby match at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff and it proved a great option. Train travel was easy and quick and the rates were much cheaper than staying in Cardiff itself, plus the B&B was much nicer.

Review 5:No faults indicated.

Review 6:Excellent hospitality, the owner and his team are just excellent, facilities excellent, standard excellent, food excellent, value for money - excellent,

Review 7:The card machine didn't work so they could not take payment. Had to arrange this separately.

Review 8:Rooms were comfy and well presented. Location was good for what we needed.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:What a beautiful place to stay very helpful happy staff. Easy access to motorway but also far enough away for it to be nice and quiet, lovely morning breakfast. Highly recommended in the area of Bridgend .

Review 11:Tony was very helpful with printed directions to a couple nearby restaurants for dinner, and for getting us to the Inn when GPS failed. Quiet, outdoor patio with gardens

Review 12:very poor quality breakfast Annoying TV in breakfast room where we were only diners. I switched it off and member of staff was about to switch it on when I explained we wished to sit in apeaceful environment. He seemed non plussed !

Review 13:The staff (Tony especially) were a delight. As a lone traveller working all day alone also, it was a very lonely time, but it was nice that Tony noticed and took the time to talk to me. Very nice gentleman.

Review 14:nothing at all. I must add here, that I really can not understand the comments made by the guest dated 8th August, other than they must be insane and on day release from the asylum !

Review 15:Our room was spotlessly clean as was our bathroom. This was also true for the rest of the hotel. We will be returning in a few weeks time.

Review 16:Nothing - all good

Review 17:The staff were helpful and friendly; The breakfast was joy to behold , Tony was very informative and helpful when we needed a taxi.

Review 18:The rooms are outdated and not very clean. Attention to detail missed. Obvious signs of bad housekeeping. Very hard bed. Noise from railway late into the night.

Review 19:The host Tony was very friendly. The breakfast was good but could be improved upon. Good location but again the grounds and maintenance could be improved. Reasonably priced.

Review 20:We booked in a short time frame so they were surprised when we showed up. Happy they hadn't given our rooms away in meantime.

Review 21:Extremely comfortable rooms and large. Good location, pretty property.

Review 22:Very friendly welcome from the owner. Easy booking in procedure and provided with everything that we needed to know. Nice clean and tidy accommodation with good sized room, nicely decorated with good facilities.

Review 23:A real friendly atmosphere and nothing to much trouble for Tony and his staff. If only all otherExcellent establishments were like this, then all overnight accommodation would be a pleasure. This place is a credit to the hotel business.

Review 24:Nothing at all.

Review 27:Small concern but veggie option for breakfast could include Quorn sausages.

Review 28:Hairdryer, press, and lots of thoughtful items in bathroom like cotton buds, cotton wool and shower caps. Tea making facilities and extra pillOws. The book with local info was very helpful with menus and local shops and facilities open times

Review 29:Some traffic and train noise. Soundproofing between rooms could be better.

Review 30:Friendly staff, large comfortable room, good breakfast, convenient location.

Review 31:Everything was excellent, from us being late to arrive hungry and staff happy to give us a light meal so late. Everywhere clean, lovely large twin room with a large shower room. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Staff happy to help to get map from Internet to help us get to our next destination.

Review 32:This is the best b&b I've been to in UK. It was clean, staff friendly and good breakfast. The best thing about it though is that it is quite no idiots screaming in the hall way or making a noise in the room next door. I would 100% book again.

Review 33:Bedroom needed slightly updating. Hairdryer was old and not powerful.

Review 34:Stayed here as we were watching the Wales vs NZ rugby game in Cardiff. Close to Bridgend train station which was perfect for getting into Cardiff. Breakfast was good, lovely staff.

Review 37:As a business traveller it was a refreshing change from the run-of-the-mill budget hotel. Very hospitable, comfortable, clean and conveniently located close to Bridgend. Like being on holiday!

Review 38:Near a railway line and main road so quite noisy if you had your window open. Having said that, it didn't disturb us as it wasn't too warm that we needed the window open at night.

Review 39:Convenient location just off the M4, comfortable and friendly. Lovely big room.

Review 40:breakfast was plentiful but only average for £6.95 each. Our bathroom ceiling sloped and we had to take care not to bang our heads whilst using the toilet and getting in and out of the bath (even my wife who's only 5'2" tall). Showering must be really awkward !! No complaints it served us ok for one night. Wouldn't choose to stay again.

Review 41:warm,comfortable and clean. good and free wifi internet connection. good parking area. average value for money for our offer price of £60 for the night (glad we didn't pay whatever the full price was). Staff were friendly. Tea and coffee was provided in our room. The room was quiet and our night was not disturbed, we slept well.

Review 42:Highly recommend to everybody. Nothing to much trouble. Tony made me very welcome. All staff very friendly. Room was lovely and clean. Couldn't find a fault. Perfect!!!!

Review 43:The location was stuck between a dual carriageway and a busy railway line!
