Review 6:Central location, handy for the lake, theatre, shops, restaurants. Parking permit could be used in main car parks in Keswick, but parking is available at the hotel after 4pm till 10am.ideal location
Review 7:Having to cut our stay short due to a family matter
Review 8:Location, very close to town centre, view, big room, staff very polite and helpful, breakfast was lovely.
Review 9:4 pm check in far too late. Our bedroom number 16 relentless noise all night long from either water or central heating boiler. Management not interested in the complaint so we had to move for our second night. BE AWARE OF ROOM 16
Review 10:Good breakfast, nice environment
Review 11:Poor communication when trying to book, no reply to two emails and two phonecalls. Cobwebs in room and a workman left a jumper in our bathroom one day and Our room wasn't cleaned one day.
Review 12:Location, breakfasts, room
Review 13:Car parking not good. I am of limited mobility, and I found it difficult to have to go for the car at 4.0 pm. I have nobody who could drop me off, and then park the car.. I have a blue badge, but that did not help.
Review 14:Close to the shops, the town centre, and the theatre by the lake.
Review 15:Good location close to town within walking distance of shops. Lindsey was welcoming and friendly on our arrival, our room +en.suite.were brilliant, and very comfortable and clean.staff were very helpful and friendly, thank you all very much.
Review 16:None at all. It was perfect
Review 17:The property was located well within walking distance for all our needs,it is beautifully decorated, clean, very comfortable beds, lovely choices for breakfast. Lyndsey and her friendly staff made us feel very welcome, We will definately return as soon as possible.
Review 18:Lindsey was so helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location of the hotel was terrific for parking and the central shopping area. We could walk to restaurants and shopping and the lake was just up the street.
Review 19:Arrived to find that the hotel had not been informed by bookings.com that we had reserved a room. Massive oversight by bookings.com. Luckily the hotel were able to sort us out with a room, quickly and professionally.
Review 20:Professional attitude of the staff. Lovely room with a fantastic view of the Surrounding country side. breakfast was excellent.
Review 21:Easy parking situation (able to drop bags off at the door before parking across the road), amazing views across the park to the fells, gourmet breakfast, friendly staff. Could not ask for more!
Review 22:Great location between the town centre and the Lake. Lovely, friendly and very helpful staff. Nice airy rooms with good facilities and views. Delicious breakfasts too!
Review 23:the perfect hostess in linzy and staff , nothing was a problem for them .not that we had a problem, we really enjoyed the whole weekend. we will return again sometime to the lakeside house hotel.
Review 24:Absolutely NOTHING>
Review 25:From the moment we checked in we were made welcome and the view from our bedroom window was to die for - The staff, food and room were all fantastic. Looking forward to returning all ready.
Review 26:We are a couple in our 60s, in decent shape but the 3 story climb to our room was daunting at times. Arrange for a room on a lower floor if possible.
Review 27:We loved the innkeeper and her children! The breakfast was scrumptious. Our room was very spacious and meticulous. I hope we can go again.
Review 28:We stayed in Room 3 with a big bay window overlooking the pitch and put golf course and loved it. We found the Staff very friendly and the cleanliness and facilities could not be faulted. Breakfast also excellent. All in all well worth the money.
Review 29:Breakfast times a little in flexible & not very vegetarian friendly. No WiFi & no mobile phone signal.
Review 30:Modern, clean, friendly guesthouse in the heart of the Lake District.
Review 31:Missing plug for the bathtub - just a very minor thing.
Review 32:The best location ever (think: beautiful park and easy trails right at your doorstep and picturesque lake a few minutes' walk away) ; very spacious room (including bathroom!); delicious breakfast in a beautiful and airy dining room; Lindsay the innkeeper is fabulous and beautiful (and helpful of course), and her kids are adorable! Top pick for visit to the Lake District, excellent value for money.
Review 33:Can't actually see the lake but great mountain views. Parking bit of a pain at weekends as no on site parking Llack of drawer space for a weeks stay
Review 34:Room 16 Breakfast Friendly and efficient staff
Review 35:Had a slight problem with the water pressure, seemed to be some airlocks so you have that pleasant red hot/freezing cold experience! However, did not think it serious enough to complain, just mentioned it at end and manageress was eager to fix it. Biggest problem though was with booking - I understood I was paying in advance through booking.com at a special rate so was bit shocked to get bill at end - the lesson is to really check your emails!!
Review 36:Food was exceptional, beds were exceptional, staff were pleasant, location very good
Review 37:Did not bother us but parking outside from 4pm to 10am, but we always found a space. Rest of time free parking with pass provided at nearby car park unless you find a space on road alongside.
Review 38:Rooms were immaculate, roomy and airy with great views. Ideal location, good breakfasts, Lindsey and staff worked very hard to maintain very high standards.
Review 39:We had to come home
Review 40:The staff were amazing and the Manageress couldnt do enough for us. We were all over the moon with our stay. The Eggs benedict for breakfast was the best I have ever had - and its my favourite breakfast dish so I've tried a few!
Review 41:Absolutely nothing to complain about but maybe should to keep it a secret for us.
Review 42:We spent two nights at Lakeside and honestly couldn't fault a thing. Friendly hosts, beautiful accommodation, gorgeous food and a perfect central location.
Review 43:Lindsay the manager was really helpful and friendly, giving lots of advice and tips. The location was excellent, just a few minutes walk from the lake and the town centre. The room was really clean with excellent comfortable beds! And the breakfast was lovely, with a good choice on the menu :)
Review 44:None
Review 45:Lakeside house was in a great location and because we were staying for 4 days, they upgraded our room to a room with a view. Breakfast was so delicious and staff so very friendly.
Review 46:Lovely bright and airy breakfast room with great views. Spotlessly clean bedroom with very comfortable bed. Welcoming and helpful owner and friendly staff.
Review 47:Only very minor: our room was a bit of a trek up several flights of stairs, especially when we were carrying the pram, baby and bags. We would ask for a ground/first floor room next time.
Review 48:Location was perfect - no need for a car to get about. Hope park is on the doorstep. Lake, town and shops are all very nearby. Room was lovely - we booked a standard room for £110 per night. It was the largest "standard" room we've ever stayed in. Very clean and well furnished with lots of storage space and plenty of room for a travel cot. En suite was an average size but clean and modern. Shower was hot and powerful (possibly the highlight of our holiday). Large dressing table in the room with tea and biscuits and water replenished daily. We loved the daily cleaning service so the room was immaculate when we got back every evening. Breakfast - delicious selection of food, both hot and cold items, though portions for the hot breakfast were slightly small. Staff were happy to provide soya milk for me instead of milk. Beautiful view of the park and mountains in the distance.
Review 49:Owneres & staff very friendly.Very clean & breakfast was excellent.Car parking very easy & all facility's in town only a minute walk away.
Review 50:Beautifully furnished and obviously well looked after, very good location near both Lake and centre of town, friendly and helpful owners, fabulous breakfast with a cook who knows how to make a perfect poached egg!
Review 51:There wasn't anything I didn't like.
Review 52:Everything about our stay here was pleasant, the Owners were proud of their Hotel and rightly so. The decor was Modern and well thought out to suit all. The rooms were spacious, had a TV and Hairdryer and a lovely large shower and the bed was very comfortable with pillows I would have bought if I could! Everywhere was clean and un-clutered. The Breakfast was very nice and the menue for breakfast was a pleasant surprise. You could have fruit and cerial and still have a good choice of cooked breakfasts. All in all I would recommend it, the Poached Eggs were just right every time. I would recommend this Hotel without a doubt. We know Keswick inside out but if you don't the Location of this Hotel is perfect, turn left you are in the main town, turn right you are in the Park which leads down to the Lake and Boats to take you on a trip round the Lake.
Review 53:One of the top rooms had very low sloping ceiling to one side of the room, and after a couple of accidental bumps to the head, had to be very careful when moving around in the room.
Review 54:Idyllic location, picturesque views, next to Derwent lake, yet on the town's doorstep making it easy for evening meals and strolls.
Review 55:Visited the Lakeside House a couple of weeks ago with my partner and we deffintely will be visiting again, nothing was too much trouble, staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed and breakfast is in a great location walking distance to the town and not to far from the lake.
Review 56:Reception opens at 4pm so not always possible to get hold of someone if you need help.
Review 57:Breakfast! Lovely food, deliciously presented. Shame the hotel didn't do dinner, but conveniently near to good restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 58:Thank you to Lynsey and her staff who made my husbands special birthday a wonderful break away. They made us feel like apart of the family, we couldn't of been made to feel more at home. We Would thoroughly recommend Lakeside Hotel great location, extremely comfortable and clean, really friendly & helpful staff
Review 59:Nothing.
Review 60:Our first time there, but welcomed like old friends. Room was lovely, clean and very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast is first rate, especially if going on a long walk! Location was central but away from the noise of traffic.
Review 61:we received a warm welcome from owners on arrival. Our room was spacious, warm, v.v. Clean, beds lovely and comfy. The breakfast was fabulous, fresh food, tasty and well presented.
Review 62:The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty. The room was modern and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hotel was just a short walk from the town, lake and hills.
Review 63:We loved the contemporary decor. Very comfortable bed and nice warm bedroom! Food was delicious! Close to town centre and the Lake. Views from room towards Catbells. Fantastic! We'll be back!
Review 64:We arrived late and check in was straightforward. Room 2 was very high stand as rd love err looking park and 2 huge bay Windows. Everything high standard and staff really nice. Breakfast excellent.
Review 65:Parking not great, having said that the hosts went out of there way to make sure we got parked.
Review 66:Friendly helpful staff and fantastic room. Great location. Couldn't have asked for anything better.
Review 67:Limited parking. Not a real problem though as the hotel provided a free pass to park in the central car park a short walk away.
Review 68:Nice room with a view of the park. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Short walk to centre of Keswick and nearby restaurants.
Review 69:The room we had was on the small side and it was a little awkward in the bathroom with a large shower but tiny sink.
Review 70:A great location with great views. Friendly and comfortable B&B. Easy access to the town and walks into the hills on the doorstep.
Review 71:Minor point: check-in not until 16.00. On a wet day (hardly rare) this left us hanging about very damply.
Review 72:Extremely pleasant staff, both friendly and efficient. Super room, definitely more hotel than guest house, and genuine luxury items. Great breakfast.
Review 73:Lakeside House was fantastic - comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent and served by very friendly staff. The location was ideal, with the car park permit a welcome necessity.
Review 74:I am 6' 1' tall so the low ceiling beams in the room were a challenge - its worth it for the view !
Review 75:View from room amazing. Staff very friendly , efficient and helpful ( to the point of moving their own car to help you park ! ) Location perfect just a short walk from town center . Room very clean and well appointed with free wi-fi . Breakfast lovely with lots of choice. Would definitely come back.
Review 76:The people managing the accommodation were extremely friendly andhelpful. Location was excellent, barely a five minute walk toderwrmt water lake. Place was clean. Breakfast was good. Amazingview from the room.
Review 77:Disappointed with the superior room (10). Nice views of golf course but very cramped with inconvenient layout. Shower room very small.
Review 78:Superb stylish decor, friendly professional staff. Excellent cooked breakfast to order. Excellent drying room for boots and coats. Exceptionally clean. Lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere.
Review 79:Lindsay, (the proprietor) was so helpful with pre trip planning; the staff was accomodating and very service oriented; the English breakfast and other breakfast options was perfectly prepared; the staff was extremely helpful with tips for exploring the area; the room was spacious, very clean and nicely appointed
Review 80:Staff were very friendly and helpful, but not in your face. The hotel was very comfortable and quiet situated on the edge of the park near the lake. The town was a very short walk round the corner with a good array of shops, pubs and restaurants. The breakfasts in the hotel were superb.
Review 81:Although bright and spacious, our room included a very low beam, which we knocked our heads against a few times, until we remembered to duck! The minuscule TV was mounted on this beam at a strange angle, which meant you could only really watch it if you were lying in bed.
Review 82:Our bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was modern and spotless. There was a good choice of things for breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. The LakeSide is ideally situated, overlooking a park and the fells and yet only a two minute walk from the centre of town.
Review 83:Check in times rather late although did not bother us because we had a long journey. Parking not ideal but it is not a real problem.
Review 84:Excellent location, close to good places to eat. Very friendly, nice rooms.
Review 85:Slight confusion on booking. Good weather made room a bit hot for sleeping.
Review 86:Very good position near lake & park. Very relaxed atmosphere. Most attractive dining room & lounge. Excellent breakfasts with good choice.
Review 87:Not much. Our room must have been right over the outdoor smoking area as we could smell smoke a few times. No AC (spoiled Americans, we are), so had the windows wide open for coolness at night. The evenings were warm, so no relief there. Nothing really to complain about.
Review 88:The location was perfect! Just a quick walk to the launch to motor us around the lake allowing us the opportunity to explore other lakeside communities and to hike to the top of a mountain! It was also a quick walk into the little town of Keswick. We rented a car and made it to a few of the other nearby towns. So much to see and do, we have to go back! The breakfast was yummy and the staff was always ready to help and always there with a smile and suggestion if we asked.
Review 89:Only issue was being in an attic room one side had quite a steep slope which meant there was a constant risk of banging your head against the slope - I did it twice and it was quite painful.
Review 90:Generally very good - excellent breakfast and great location/views with a very friendly owner.
Review 91:The location, cleanliness, modern décor and furniture etc. Friendly helpful staff. Help with parking nearby. Great breakfast. Even supply ice for the room if required.
Review 92:Location was perfect. 2 min walk to either the lake or centre of Keswick. I reccomended our room (room 2) as the views were lovely and it had plenty of space. Definaely worth getting up for the breakfast, just what's needed before a long walk ahead.
Review 93:It would have been nice to have had bath robes with the room - but it did not detract at all from how lovely it was.
Review 94:The room was beautiful - well decorated in a contemporary style. Perfectly clean and very comfortable.
Review 95:Large room with beautiful decor and big bay window. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly and efficient service. Within easy walking distance of lake and town centre.
Review 96:The Bathroom was too small and it was difficult to wash you face without splashing water all over the place.
Review 97:The reception at this B+B was exceptionally welcoming. Although we should not have checked in before 4 p.m. we arrived early but were greeted warmly by Christine who gave us permission to leave our luggage. She also ensured that we had a parking pass which we could use immediately. Lovely sheets and towels.
Review 98:We had very spacious bedroom on the first floor with triple aspect windows providing wonderful views over Hope park. Breakfast was equally excellent with plenty of choice an good attentive service. Lakeside will be our hotel of choice in Keswick
Review 99:Ideal location for town centre and lake Derwent, excellent breakfast and the staff are very friendly , very clean, easy parking just outside, would stay again
Review 100:Parking wasn't a problem but I think it could be at times. But they give you a free parking permit for many locations for car parks around the lakes
Review 101:Location was perfect as was the view.A 5 minute stroll to the lake along the park and 5 mins to the town in the other direction. Spacious room. Some nice touches...they provide binoculars to view the hills and provide ice for drinks.
Review 102:It is common to see someone of the staff at breakfast time , since then you cannot see anyone whatever time of the day. Not importante to me bit a little odd
Review 103:Localization accomodation breakfast
Review 104:I'm a very light sleeper and it was refreshing to find somewhere very quiet and have a good nights sleep. The room was perfect and lives up to being called "superior double". Staff are very nice and its all run very well organised. The breakfast is top quality. Parking is a short walk but free. Its close to town & had lots of leaflets and information available.
Review 105:Parking close could be a bit tricky and you had to move the car by 10 am due to parking restrictions. However permits were provided by guest house to use local car parks.
Review 106:Lovely bedroom and dining room. In fact a beautifully kept guesthouse with a good location. Breakfast were of a very high standard with eggs benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled egg and lovely fresh fruit.
Review 107:I wish that the bathroom could be a little bit bigger. It seems it's very small comparing to the size of the suite.
Review 108:Breakfast was superb! Great start of the day. Very comfortable beds. Very helpful staff. Would definitely recommend it as a place to stay in Keswick.
Review 109:Friendliness of staff made you feel very comfortable we felt more like friends than visiting travellers. Food excellent. We arrived a bit earlier than I had requested but was no problem which kind of Lindsey.Very helpful with really good information when asked for. Town a couple of minutes walk, lake no more than 10 minutes walk. Lovely view from room.
Review 110:We loved the location; very close to the town centre but with lovely views of the hills. Room was spacious and comfortable and the staff very friendly.
Review 111:Parking is the only issue in this location but it is free to park, so if you are lucky and can get close, stay there.
Review 112:Other than parking arrangements, everything was perfect for us. The ground rules about dirty footwear we thought was a very good idea and you could see it had the desired effect. The public areas and rooms were spotless.
Review 113:We hated leaving!
Review 114:Lyndsey ( I hope that's how you spell her name) was an amazing source of local information and extremely friendly to deal with. The staff serving breakfast were also very friendly, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. The accomodation was excellent and very comfortable and homely.
Review 115:Was expecting a room with a great view but was not as expected as overlooked a walkway at the front of the building. Would go for the standard option next time.
Review 116:Quality of the rooms and the lovely breakfast. Extremely clean and modern and would highly recommend.Staff were very friendly and helpful also.
Review 117:Parking wasn't great but they did give us pass for public car park
Review 118:Very friendly with a no hassle check in and out, nothing too much trouble
Review 119:We didn't have much of a view
Review 120:Staff were lovely breakfast was beautiful and beds were so so comfy! Fab location and luxury room was spacious
