Reviews for La Noyeraie Rocamadour

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:We enjoyed being a little out of Rocamador... Easy to park the car, but only a 3 min drive in. Peaceful and private. Central for village touring. James was a very welcoming host.. Made us feel at home. Cooked a yummy dinner on our first night and offered good suggestions for eating out other nights. Also basically organised our itinerary for us which was great! Visited places we probably wouldn't have without his local knowledge. He is very passionate about local producers. Also a lovely breakfast each day with a surprise home cooked goodie as well as croissants etc. Bed and shower good. Wifi good. Nice to have a bit of space in our room.

Review 3:James is a fantastic host and cook! To future guests, we recommend eating in for the evening meal is possible. We loved the quirkiness of the building, which is nicely away from the hustle and bustle of Rocamadour. We would love to come back again! Having an English speaking host was an unexpected treat!

Review 4:Not a criticism but if you book via booking.com make sure your dinner reservation goes through. The host did not expect us but managed to put together an excellent dinner.

Review 5:Individual attention from host. Dinner cooked by host from local ingredients and cooked well. Knowledgable about local wine which was available for dinner. Home cooked croissants for breakfast.

Review 6:Very nice host who made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at the studio in the garden, which made for a very confortable and quiet stay. Rocamadour is just a 5 min drive away.

Review 7:We had a lovely time and were particularly impressed with the attention to detail. This made our stay so enjoyable and memorable for our children who loved the food, drinks and playing with the dogs. I woke to the smell of freshly baked bread and cakes - perfect! Thank you.

Review 8:Just a couple minute drive from Rocamadour. Very calm and quiet. Good wifi connection. Parking across the road. Clean room and linen. James is very friendly. He gave good advice.

Review 9:Peaceful but pretty place to stop over en route further south.....very cheerful & chatty host who is a good chef and passionate coffee maker! Great wine list from the local area......we will be back !

Review 10:Wifi signal was occasionally poor.

Review 11:Everything! James was an absolutely wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. His knowledge of the area and the local wines is fantastic! The studio room was perfect for our needs. Make sure you have dinner here! It was the best meal we had during our 3 months of travel!

Review 12:The Hotel is so nice, we only stayed one night but definitively a place to stay again. Lovely owners, but the best thing is the coffee machine, here you can really taste a good cup of capuchino, or maybe the best espresso in France… really.

Review 13:Having to smoke across the road, but we understand.

Review 14:The location...close to the main tourist attraction and good restaurants, but being able to retreat from it. Helpful and informative host, James. Big room, good breakfast...WARM bathroom...the first ones to turn the central heating on in Europe. Thanks!

Review 15:Friendliness of Proprietor. Went out of his way to guide us to places of interest. Location convenient to the magnificent village of Rocamadour. Room spacious with kitchenette facilities. Appreciated option of b'fast in room or sunny garden.

Review 16:Absolutely nothing!

Review 17:From the moment my son, 28, and my arrival after a long drive James welcomed us and immediately made me feel I was the only guest there. He spent so much time with us about our itinerary that night, and the next day. If it hadn't been for his exemplary customer service toward us we wouldn't have gotten to do one of the best parts of our entire 10 days in France or Rocamadour in the exact way I wanted and appreciated. He picked up on my desire to experience Rocamadour very intuitively. We started at the top instead of the bottom and avoided the part that wasn't something I wanted to do late that night. And, for this attention and our experience in general I couldn't have been any more pleased. James spent a lot of time with details about directions and ideas. The caves in Padirac were one of the best parts of our vacation. He planned our entire day to a T. Also, the room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and clean as a whistle. The attention to the breakfast we were offered was really awesome. Homemade croissants, jam, and lattes made to our liking, that he remembered from the first day to the next without being asked. I can't begin to express the gratitude I have in the choice I made to stay at La Noyeraie Rocamadour:.I have already recommended this place to friends that are in France right now and would again for anyone going to this area. Thank you James! Sincerely, Sarah and Sam

Review 18:Whats not to like

Review 19:A young english couple who have followed their dream. James & Jen are working very hard to make their Farmhouse B & B successful & we found they were such interesting people to talk to. James studies coffee and Jen studies wine & so very helpful in advising us about the local restaurants & the sites & the order in which we should do them.

Review 20:teapots too small and awkward to use

Review 21:Friendly, helpful host Fresh, homemade raspberry cookies at breakfast (homegrown raspberries) Fresh milk brought to room for drinks of tea

Review 22:Charge of 9€ per dog above average.

Review 23:Helpful advice from owners on restaurant. Large area ideal for early morning dog walks. Spacious studio. We cannot comment on food as we were a very late booking.

Review 24:James has a passion for his business and is very knowledgeable about the area. He advised us on the easiest access to Rocamadour, location for photographs and recommended a good restaurant. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 25:Not a real problem, but we could use more electrical outlets in the rooms, for charging all our electronic devices such as smartphones etc. Other than that, nothing at all!

Review 26:We especially liked James, the owner, who was so helpful in everything we asked for. This is a small B&B in a converted farmhouse, near Rocamadour. We got a small apartment for our family which was very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast cooked by James was good and satisfying, abd the recommendations made to Dinner restaurants were proven 100% correct. The smells form James's dinner cooking were superb - a shame we did not have the chance of having it since we had not made the reservation for that and arrived late that day. Parking is free in the parking lot across the road. Wifi reception was good all over the place. Great value for money. Thank you James!

Review 27:Having to leave!!!

Review 28:James and Jen offered us a wonderful warm welcome. Homely place, but providing a very high standard. Excellent breakfasts, and we recommend booking for at least one of James' superb evening meals with the added bonus of Jen's expert knowledge of local wines to go with the meal. We were always made welcome to use our room at any time of the day. We also liked the fact that there are tea-making facilities. Very close to Rocamadour, but also there are many beautiful villages to visit in the area of Lot. We would be delighted to return one day and highly recommend La Noyeraie to other people.

Review 29:Nearby crossroad is relatively busy, which requires some extra attention when crossing the road to the parking lot with small children.

Review 30:Excellent and helpful owners Great wines available Owners were very flexible in meeting our family's needs Spacious room for a large family Overall atmosphere of the house and the surroundings

Review 31:Not one complaint with my stay and experience.

Review 32:Great jumping off point for exploring the area. Close to Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac, and many small villages of interest. James and Jennifer were excellent hosts and spent more time with me than I expected in putting together day trips for me to explore the area. Very nice grounds to spend the evening sitting outside or having your morning breakfast, nice rooms, and very clean. If I am in that part of France again in my travels I will look to La Noyeraie again for my stay.

Review 33:The whole experience is just so wonderful! Make sure you book the evening meal which is definitely worth it! If we have a chance coming back to Rocamadour area next time, we will definitely stay there again!

Review 34:Nothing to complain about

Review 35:Friendly and helpful English couple. Comfortable bed and French furnishings in this gorgeous old French house... Being tastefully and carefully restored. Lovely grounds and garden to sit in with shaded areas. Easy access and a great base to visit Rocamadour medieval town and the surrounding area. The owners cooked an evening meal for us using local produce as well as using home grown vegetables and fruits. The local wines we were offered to accompany our meal were from local small wine growers in Cahors which we were also able to buy to take home. We would definitely return and whole heatedly recommend you to visit.

Review 56:- nothing

Review 57:- easy access - kindness and warm welcome - dinner and breakfast - nice bedrooms - perfect for family

Review 58:All aspects of our stay were perfect. Our host was particularly helpful too.

Review 59:Mattress covers ( very sweaty), Road nearby

Review 60:Very welcoming and lovely room. Fantastic walking from Hotel.

Review 61:An excellent small hotel/guesthouse, in a beautiful part of France. The onwers were incredibly friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to help us plan our following days route via some wonderful scenic roads. Would highly recommend.

Review 62:The rural environment, the food and the very charming hosts. We will certainly keep our eye on their web site to see how things are going and hopefully we will stay there again.

Review 63:There is nothing to dislike.

Review 64:Fantastic hosts. Fantastic premises. Fantastic location. All topped of with a fantastic evening meal and breakfast. A genuine warm friendly welcome. I will be visiting again. DIOLCH YN FAWR.

Review 65:There was nothing negative about this visit, everything was as we expected.

Review 66:Very pet friendly with lots of space for our active dog to run in, Jennifer and James are excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the area.

Review 67:Nothing really. Breakfast 8 - 9 was a little early for personal holiday choice.

Review 68:Lovely room, wonderful hosts and very nice food for breakfast and evening meal. The locally selected wine was a treat.

Review 69:owners: perfect lesson of wines about Jennifer and very nice breakfast and supper cooked for James, the landscape, nearly to rocamadour and grouffe of paricard.

Review 70:Maybe needs a TV on the wall in one of the rooms however with WiFi available from the rooms this is not so important.

Review 71:Lovely run family hotel, renovated to have a very traditional French style, with only a few charming rooms that helps make the stay feel more special. Fantastic English breakfast available for a small additional charge in a lovely reception room. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Very helpful owners, fluent English of course, and great location, easy to find. Rooms very clean and tidy, nicely furnished with good fixtures, fittings and additional pillows and blankets available if needed. Great shower. Highly recommended. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Review 72:I'd stayed at Noyeraie before and was very pleased to get a wonderful warm welcome from the whole family. I stayed in one of the newly renovated suites. (Blue, has a bedroom, separate living room and bathroom). Although I travelled alone, I liked the idea of a separate room to myself to relax in when not sleeping. For ease, I booked in for dinner, and was very happy with the meal provided by James. Homemade soup, traditional Confit du canard and chocolate mousse. I also sampled a local wine (K, I think it was). Jennifer, James' wife really knows her stuff about local wines and gave a great recommendation. As before, breakfast was simple, coffee, croissants (nice and fresh). Again, my time was up too quickly. Should stay longer to explore the land surrounding the accommodation! The newly renovated room/s was clean, well decorated and in keeping with the traditional house style. Its almost like having my own little flat. Lovely way to break a journey or stay to explore the surrounding area's.

Review 73:This is the first negative review we have ever written after 5 years of vising Europe each year. The comments apply to the 'studio' at the back of the house and not to the main house which we did not visit. The studio is a converted animal shed? of the farm with a flat roof that slopes to less than shoulder height. Three sides are stone with a timber wall blocking the front. There is one 50cm square window on one side and a glass door. If the door is closed which you have to when it rains, then ventilation is minimal. This accounts for the mouldy smell throughout the room. The room is small with no room for a wardrobe. The bed had a plastic mattress cover so that when you turned during the night there was the accompanying noise of creaking plastic. This was not a nice place to stay and we could not get out quick enough in the morning. We are not people who go around complaining -read our reviews of Chambres Hotes les Coquelicots in the Dordogne and Hotel Les Rochers in St Savin where we stayed the nights before and after this and see that we can be lavish in our praise.

Review 74:The bathroom is the only positive.

Review 75:James is very hospitable, full service in English (hard to find in this area), excellent location, Proximity to Rocamadour (+-5min by car) , very clean, spacious rooms, convenient parking in front of the hotel, good atmosphere, Highly recommended!!!

Review 76:Nothing but pay attention to reception opening times - we forgot

Review 77:Only short distance from Roqamadour. Really nice large room with wifi. Secure parking for our bike. Recommended

Review 78:Breakfast on fold-up table in room. Small bedroom that was very cluttered. No wi-fi reception in our (garden) room advised to stand in the garden for signal (in the rain).

Review 79:Warm welcome. Very good dinner on one night of the two.Fairly new shower room.

Review 80:Just about everything. No: everything. The host was interesting and charming. The design of the rooms is very elegant, beautiful linen, color choices, well designed bathrooms. Everything was super comfortable. There was a large field in the back for exercising my two shetland sheepdogs. The place is well situated close to Rocamadour, but far enough out of town to avoid the tourist crowds. I would highly recommend this chambre d'hote.

Review 81:Not really a dislike but the place is out of the town so you need a car. Go out at night and see the site at night all light up.

Review 82:After you reserve you will get an email offering a meal. It is a very good dinner of duck confit as the main with local ingredients. Owners have recommendations for other places nearby.

Review 83:The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The B&B was lovely and our family suite had plenty of room and privacy. We enjoyed looking around Rocamadour which is very picturesque and quaint.

Review 84:Nothing.

Review 85:We received a very warm welcome from the owners and were delighted with their hospitality after a long day's travel. We chose to eat at the hotel and our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the lovely evening meal: we were also enlightened by our host's knowledge of the local Cahors black wine and enjoyed our sample! A really lovely, welcoming, small hotel, close enough to Rocamadour for us to enjoy a pre-dinner walk there even after a long journey.

Review 86:We arrived very wet andthere no food available. We had to put our wetgear on again and go out . 2 miles away (nearest). This was the onlyproblem we had.

Review 87:Friendly family run hotel. We are bikers and this was our sort ofplace.very central for touring.they put us on track and we thoroughlyenjoyed our stay with them.

Review 88:Good place to wind down after a long journey and ideal for our stopover.Plenty of space for our dog to exercise without disturbing any of theother guests. Some people have mentioned the road noise. Our apartmentwas at the back of the house and we didn't notice any noise at all.Slept very well.

Review 89:Located on busy road junction with considerable traffic noise. Choice ofwine with dinner dictated by owner's personal taste.

Review 90:Very clean and comfortable room.

Review 91:This was a great place to stay - lovely old farm house, but modern facilities and comfortable rooms, and close to Rocamadour which was a delightful village. We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious dinner prepared by James, and the expert description of the amazing regional wines by Jennifer. Enjoyed their company enormously and wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 92:We stayed at La Noyeraie in the "studio". James and Jen, the owners had recently renovated the space and it was lovely!! The new windows fit in really well with the building, and it just felt really comfy and welcoming. We had booked in for the evening meal which was cooked by James. Lovely traditional food, accompanied by good local wine to go with it. We hadn't booked breakfast, but James very graciously gave us a full continental at short notice. (Coffee from proper machine....lovely!!) Really wish we could have stayed longer..We will be back!!! Also, as we were driving it was good to note the off road parking availble, and that the beautiful town was only about 5 mins drive away....

Review 93:Nothing whatsoever!

Review 94:We loved everything! James and Jennifer were wonderful hosts! The English Setter Millie was great on receptioning us! Will return to this hotel whenever we go back to Rocamadour!

Review 95:If you're after starchy, prissy and pricey then this is not the place for you. This is a family run guest house and the owners seem to love what they do. Their enthusiasm for the place is infectious. Personally speaking, they were very kind to me as a lone traveller. In fact, their kindness was such that I don't really want to say too much about it in case everyone after me expects the same. Great evening meal and ample breakfast. All locally sourced. You won't be disappointed.

Review 96:James could not do enough to help us. Jen & the children were great.

Review 97:James was an excellent host and the dinner was delicious!

Review 98:The owners are very helpful and friendly. They even gave us a free bottle of wine for us to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

Review 99:Traffic noise

Review 100:Location most suitable for access to places of interest

Review 101:We liked it all !

Review 102:Beautiful location, in an old French Farmhouse. The owners make it more like visiting old friends.

Review 103:Nothing!

Review 104:The owners were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Review 105:Very helpful and hospitable managers. Convenient location for Rocamadour and Dordogne area. Ample off road parking.

Review 106:The owner was particularly helpful and friendly and made us most welcome
