Reviews for Residhotel St Etienne Centre
Review 1:Night manager would permit people to visit outside front door during night and early morning hours. This included talking, singing and laughter while guests were sleeping.
Review 2:All around good value on a non-vehicle block of the city street.
Review 3:A little bit tricky parking car or dropping off luggage.
Review 4:Really well located for being in the centre of town. Lots of action happening in the square. People were nice. Great guy on reception, really helpful and great customer service.
Review 5:Shower leaks profusely onto bathroom floor as it is open on the entry side with a very inadequate shower curtain. Basic continental breakfast - poor value for money. Apparently no staff on site between 10pm and 7am. Was not aware of any means of contacting anyone in case of need during those hours.
Review 6:Located reasonably close to tram stop.
Review 7:Wifi situation a bit annoying. You have to get a passcode from reception, we asked for two, but meant we couldn't connect all devices.
Review 8:Excellent value for money, location, location, location.
Review 9:No air conditioning made for little sleep. Our friends had a portable fan as room was on afternoon sun side.......a portable fan could have helped with the heat....room was stifling! We were two but only provided with one towel and two hand towels
Review 10:Reception staff were excellent, very helpful. Location was ideal!
Review 11:The bathroom was a bit cramped.
Review 12:there was a coffee pot and refrigerator in the room. I also liked being able to keep my keys with me for the day and not needing to return them to the front desk every time I left.
Review 13:the noise from the pedestrian street (loads of people chatting and having a good time) was a bit much (but bearable)
Review 14:staff was friendly, location good and not in a dangerous area, great to have a fridge and cooking option, great that room was clearly a non-smoking room
Review 15:No air condition No parking and parking in the public parking house was pretty expensive. No soap to wash your hands in the bathroom!?
Review 16:In the city centre Clean Free WiFi OK breakfast (at least compared to other places in France)
Review 17:The staff told us how to get to the Finish line of the Tour de France which was completely wrong so we missed the Finish!! The noise in the street went on until 2.30 am then started again from 5 am so I got 3 hours sleep. When I told the Reception the next morning she said "I know I live nearby" I asked why as an older couple we were not given a quieter room she said they were fully booked....but I had booked about two months ago. No excuse. There was no public area to sit downstairs and the car park cost us 14.95 euros from 4.00 pm to 10.00 am!! All in all the hotel was a disaster. No thanks to the staff we drove to a spot the next morning and were able to watch the start of the race.
Review 18:The room was okay but for 87 euros I would expect this.
Review 19:Shower head support needs repair.
Review 20:Good price for the room and central location.
Review 21:Very difficult location.Parking is a nightmare.
Review 22:The staff were extremely helpful. The location is fantastic - right in the centre of town.
Review 23:No A/C during heatwave. Meant having windows open and dealing with excessive street noise.
Review 24:Centre of city location.
Review 25:Central location. New clean & well maintained.

Review 34:A lot of space in the room Own kitchen
Review 35:Great location! Next to a lot of restaurants and shopping.
Review 36:Wifi was strange: we were given a modem/router to plug in ourselves but none out of our 4 phones could connect to the wireless network. They detected the network but they just wouldn't connect. We were given another router to try but that didn't work either.
Review 37:Lovely room, great price and location, good facilities. Just what we needed for our stay.
Review 38:Supermarket on ground floor takes deliveries from 6:30 am, and the soundproofing is very poor, so don't plan a lie in...
Review 39:Very pleasant staff, great location
Review 40:Availabilty of a cooking surface enabling light meals to be cooked and with a supermarket within a couple of minutes walk this enabled this to be done.
Review 41:The beds are inacceptable hard and after two nights we where glad tomove on. Maybe ok for young people but not for old timers like us.Internet was free (ask for WiFi transmitter for room) but obviouslyoverloaded in the evening with the effect it was sooooo sloooow andhence useless.
Review 42:Location in city center very convenient for people who like stollingaround town for shopping or in the evening for finding nice bars anddinner places. Convenient was public car park (Hotel de Ville) justaround the corner (ca. 10 EURO/day).
Review 43:This is a resident, thus the room is not cleaned during the stay. There is no soap in the bathroom. Breakfast is very basic. The reception is not open all the day.
Review 44:The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, with shops, restaurants and supermarket nearby. Internet is free. Hairdryers available on request but in limited number. In each room there is a small kitchen. The staff is kind, even if they do not speak English very well.
Review 45:Being on the top floor it was very warm in August. We slept very poorly the first night. The next day we were able to borrow a fan and it made for a much better night's sleep. Also, a roll of paper towels would help immensely!
Review 46:I liked the proximity to a grocery store and restaurants and the ability to prepare a light meal in our room.
Review 47:The service was excellent, very accomodative of our requests, and very effective in execution.
Review 48:The internet access was slow. Breakfast was self service, good choice, copious, but in a small room.
Review 49:The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 50:No free parking for the hotel, but there is a car park close by for 6 euro per night
