Reviews for Lindal
Review 1:Slight smell of damp, but was okay as I left the window open. Staff did not give information upon arrival and had to keep coming back to ask, for example breakfast time (missed it first morning as was not told it's finished so early when I arrived the previous night) and wifi password and so on. Also no help getting the luggage up stairs to the room. Bathroom had no door.
Review 2:Bed and pillows were comfortable. I had a window in my room and spacious wardrobe. Location was good. Price was good.
Review 3:tv in a place where one could not sit (bed or chair) to watch it. Obviously not been decorated for at least 20 years. Needed to ring doorbell to get in on each return.
Review 4:Near my work venue
Review 5:Bit dated, wifi password not offered, front door had smashed glass, car park had no lighting.
Review 6:Nice breakfast / free parking / decent tv in room
Review 7:The hotel is over priced for what it's condition is staff were rude and the hotel itself is dirty. How the council is allowing this hotel to operate in such a dirty state
Review 8:I did not like the hotel or the staff there
Review 9:None
Review 10:Cheap and cheerful for a short stay. Harrow on the Hill station gets you to and from central London quick. Tip: Change at Finchley Road. I am a returning customer.
Review 11:The 2 younger lads who refused to order us a taxi telling us a load of lies as to where the taxi will drop us off. And when we returned to the hotel the 2girls I was wiv walked into the bar 1st and asked if they were serving to which they replied yes but then when they saw they were with 2 blokes they were qiuck to change their mind. And friend had an electric shock unplugging the heater
Review 12:The friendly man when we 1st got there who offered everything he could. Unfortunately he wasn't still there when we came back down from our rooms
Review 13:It was not clean. Bedding and towels were clean but the room and bathroom were in huge need of a good clean. I daren't take my socks off to walk on the carpet.
Review 14:I liked the price best
Review 15:Single room was fit for purpose but no more. No light switch accessible from the bed.
Review 16:Suitable location near to Harrow on the Hill. Value for money compared to what you could pay in this area. Accommodation included breakfast. Got a single room.
Review 17:everything, from, the very bad damp odour throughout the whole hotel, the disgusting room that we stayed in, too scared to even have a shower, the grey not white net curtains with paint on them, the broken chair....
Review 18:Leaving as quickly as possible in the morning
Review 19:Had to take the mattress off the bed to sleep as beds were unsafe to sleep on and the whole place smelt awful should not be on booking.com would t let my dog sleep there disgusting
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:it smelled bad quite bad like chip fat which kept me awake, also the décor of the room wasn't great and didn't even attempt to us the shower
Review 22:the location is brilliant and the size of the room
Review 23:Dirty damp smelling room no heating window didn't shut right no bar as stated in ad went into bar it was in darkness with a member of staff sat at side of a fan heater asked if bar was open was told no
Review 24:Old looking facilities, cleanliness very poor, except the room, where it was acceptable. Door locks working very bad, no sound insulation of the windows and doors as well. Wifi working only in the ground floor. Overall comfort and quality compared with other European standards for the same money is very disappointing.
Review 25:Good location, 10 minutes walking distance from tube station, friendly staff.
Review 26:Old and not nice at all. Looks like was never renovated since it was built. Not lift, no facilities, lots of doors and steps that you have to drag your suitcase through... There is only English breakfast available. Everything seems to be the cheapest from the market. Only bedsheets and towels seemed to be clean.
Review 27:The staff was nice and helpful. Located near bus stop and close to two tube stations in Harrow. Big Tesco nearby.
Review 28:Outside was unclean and building sad and messy. Needs a revamp but rooms were pretty good, good place just to sleep.
Review 29:Location to train to wembley stadium was easy, good pubs up the road. Free parking, staff was friendly so was good value for money, full large breakfast included.
Review 30:Hotel is cheap and cheerful it is what is is needs a full update it's very tired but as a base for London it's great you pay for what you get
Review 31:Decent location 10 mins from the tube great for Wembley nice staff
Review 32:Lack of secure doors and windows
Review 33:Not very secure and had to get a room change due to none of the windows being able to close and didn't feel like our property would be safe inside.
Review 34:It was an absolute dump.door lock broke had to be hammered open and had to sleep with no lock on door dirty and very old and not cared for hotel.
Review 35:Nothing.
Review 36:Stinks! Filthy! No sign of Maintenance! Couldn't even bring ourselves to accept the breakfast we'd paid for!
Review 37:Nothing! This place stinks! it's disgusting!
Review 38:Hotel was falling to pieces and badly decorated, only 1 staff member who barley spoke english she was the receptionist barmaid cleaner and cook. 1 guest was invited to sleep on the floor because they over booked, there were no staff available at any point and the breakfast was undercooked bacon with an overcooked egg swimming in fat.
Review 39:Location
Review 40:Maintenance issues which need attention and squeaky beds.
Review 41:Good price with cooked breakfast included. Free wifi. Helpful staff. Good value for the money. If you pay a budget price you cannot expect 4*
Review 42:I had room 8, a small box room, squeaky single bed, tatty ensuite box room with filthy shower and toilet. The box bedroom laminate flooring was so poor there was 2 inch gaps between boards. The tv remote was a tiny universal with only option of volume, channel and off/on. The tv itself was tiny and broken! The wardrobe had no door on it. The desk chair was so wonky I refused to sit on it! The bed squeaked at EVERY movement. The fire alarm went off at 9am for 4 minutes, no apology or explanation given.
Review 43:The 1 girl on duty had little English but was working very hard all the time. The full English breakfast was good.
Review 44:The shower was either freezing or scalding. I did report the problem. Decor is dreary and in serious need of attention. In my own situation location and breakfast make up for other areas which need attention but then you get what you pay for.
Review 45:The breakfast was very good. Location is excellent as it is a very short distance to the centre of Harrow and only a ten minute walk from my family. Bed was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful.
Review 46:2nd time staying here and both arent good, left me with a sheet that had a stain on it and didnt change my bedding at all, got a non smokin room when i asked for smoking, didnt give you much information tbh, the door didnt lock and didnt find out until we asked them, to me it wasnt worth paying 325 for 8 nights and that is expensive tbh the price should be lowered and they should fix things, also asked for id and scanned it without asking. It was okay but not sure if a would stay again
Review 47:They give you breakfast, and the room wasnt too small this time.
Review 48:Flea infested - can't stop scratching. Went to bed fully clothed as the place was so disgusting. Glad it was only for one night and never again.
Review 49:Room was falling apart, looked like a shower curtain being used as a window curtain, no mirror in the room, the cupboards were falling apart, Very noisey due to being close to road, shower needed a clean, bed very noisey, The car park to the rear had a dumped and car and looked like it had been used for fly tipping.
Review 50:Bed clean
Review 51:Dirty, messy, dangerous. Cupboard door not attached and fell on friend when opening it. Beds falling apart.
Review 52:Good location and price for gig at Wembley. Staff.
Review 53:The bathroom was tired , but for an overnighter it did the job. Missed continental breakfast because it was quite early 7.30am-8.30am and breakfast time not displayed on leaflet in room.
Review 54:Location and parking.
Review 55:nothing to complain about
Review 56:very friendly staff...beds were clean and comfy...stayed only for one night for AC/DC concert...but would have no problem staying here again...you get what you pay for and this was cheap...so we got no complaints...it done us for the night...
Review 57:we had a slanting, ceiling which meant you could easily bump your head when getting out of bed, it was the same in the shower room when using the sink basin, the shower was so small if you dropped something you needed to open doors , but not easily, to pick up item, we got blocked in car park which was horrendous as my partner needed to be at his course on time and then when arriving back in evening there was nowhere to park and no where on any local street to park even if you could have paid it would have been useful.
Review 58:the staff were nice and friendly
Review 59:Toilet bowl stained around the water line but that was the only thing. Everything else was fine.
Review 60:It was close to Harrow on the hill tube station so very convenient. Seemed fine to me.
Review 61:My room was facing the street which was noisier than I thought it would be. Wasn't too bad though.
Review 62:Helpful staff. Located near my meetings. Good place to crash for one night.
Review 63:Poor wifi.
Review 64:I enjoyed Meeting very friendly staff. The manager even offered me a bigger room although I'd booked a single. I stayed in what I'd booked and appreciated his offer.
Review 65:Dead fly in bathroom, filthy windows, smelly carpet, paint splattered on bathroom door, holes in the wall, one working electrical socket, wardrobe door wouldn't close properly, one dirty cup,no lock on door!!!
Review 66:The only good thing was the man who greeted us on arrival,so civil,so nice.
Review 67:Housekeeping discriminate. The bed however was uncomfortable because of the dirty sheets that housekeeping take from other rooms they cleaned and put on your bed. The sheets felt horrid and grimes as the dirt crumbs would poke and make you feel uncomfortable. Housekeeping are the problem they hate their job. The lady that cleaned my room the first day opened my door with key. I said I was changing and came back and knocked a bit after. All she did when I arrived back later was put a stained duvet on top and left the dirty ones underneath.
Review 68:The owner was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and the television was excellent.
Review 69:all areas of the hotel we saw were in need of complet redecoration a pile of plaster board stacked in the dinning hall , broken furniture in the car park as well as building materials and an abandoned BMW with flat tires coverd on mould
Review 70:bed and bedding comfy sheets looked new
Review 71:The staff were unprofessional and did not seem competent in running a hotel. Eg the TV was on the blink for 4-5 days. They said it would be fixed but it never was. The hotel was very unclean even though the cleaning lady came in each day. Eg shower was stained and the toilet only worked occasionally.
Review 72:Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful.
Review 73:The experience at Lindal was horrible and I will not be returning ever. I had a two night stay at the hotel and because it was a last minute booking I had to change rooms for the second night. The first night I was in a double room. The building and hotel is very old and the decor is basic to say the least. I don't mind a hotel being old. I do mind it being dirty. The place was filthy. Stains everywhere in the bathroom, pubic hair on the toilet seat, no hot water, urine on the floor. It was disgusting, I had just returned from Fiji where I was staying in hostels most of the time that were a better standard than this place. The second room was worse - no door on the bathroom (this was a single room) and it absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. Again it was also filthy. Breakfast was a total joke and I was served uncooked porridge oats with cold milk. (There is a bed in the dining room too?!) Overall, the stay was horrible. I was only there because I was visiting my daughter on my way back from Heathrow airport to home. I wasn't going to bother complaining but she (who had paid for one of the rooms) insisted because it was so gross. So she explained all the problems to the man on the reception desk who, after having to ask him directly for a refund, said 'Well I can give you a discount of £9 (from a total of £120) or you can find somewhere else to stay and if you find somewhere else I will give you back your money. By this time it was 8pm in the evening and there was no chance of finding somewhere else. The next morning after a terrible interrupted sleep where I felt choked by the cigarette smell all night, I was asked how my stay was - so I reiterated that the state of the rooms is unacceptable. The man (who I think was the manager) started arguing with me and saying all sorts of anything that made no sense whatsover.
Review 74:The only person worth mentioning as being a hard worker and friendly was the girl who worked on the breakfast shift.
Review 75:I don't really see what people are moaning at yes there a few things wrong with the carpet and that but it's not anything that is going to affect Your stay, it was a clean bed, and as I was travelling up to Wembley I thought this was a cheap hotel and when I read the reviews I was very put off and didn't want to come, but when I got there I didn't really see what people was moaning about, your not going to expect everything to be perfect when you are paying cheap prices!! This is somewhere I would recommend if you was coming up to watch football or going to a concert, i wouldn't recommend it if you are going to stay long term!
Review 76:The bathroom was absolute did not work and the drain the water out of the shower I was very disappointed with the service then mattress was with soft and the next day, my back hurts… do not know what to say
Review 77:Like Fawlty towers, tele didn't work right,no plug for bathroom sink, holes all overroom room smelled, door to room had been kicked in numerous times
Review 78:WiFi was good
Review 79:No mirror in room had to ask for one., No Kettle in room had to ask for one. Not enough power points could either watch tv or plug fire in to keep warm en suite bathroom tiny. Shower only luke warm. One uncomfortable plastic chair in room Property in need of serious refurbishment
Review 80:Bed was comfortable, Breakfast was good
Review 81:The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Beds were clean and comfortable, location relatively near to train station, supermarket, shopping and restaurants nearby. 15-20 min to the city by train. Have absolutely no complaints, after all, came there to sleep not to spend time. Reasonable if you compare prices elsewhere.
Review 82:The bed had bed bugs and my leg was all bitten in the morning and a huge rash... The to would not pick up service... I didn't know about free wifi or breakfast in the morning as I wasn't told about these
Review 83:I loved the fact the rooms had ensuite... The bed was comfortableish... Warm and clean!
Review 84:The room was dirty, the door lock did not lock so i could not lock door, window did not shut, freezing cold, no central heating, rusty heater in room (too scared to ues it) bed was uncomfortable and cover inadequate. Require money back for this awful place.
Review 85:Breakfast was ok.
Review 86:Wifi didn't work, bathroom was mouldy, sockets hanging off the walls; the place is generally falling to pieces. To top it off though, I returned to my room to find 3 staff in there pissing about with the TV. I hadn't asked them to look at it, and certainly wouldn't have chosen to leave them alone in my room with all my belongings. Never staying at the Lindal again!
Review 87:Best thing about staying here is trying to guess what will break / go wrong / upset you next!
Review 88:Unsafe heating system Plaster falling from roof over bed No lock on bedroom door- had to leave case propped against door all night Breakfast was disorganised and poor
Review 89:Staff tried to help
Review 90:The carpet was filthy, plug socket was hanging off the wall by the window, no room service for the 5 days we were there. Shower had no hot water so when we went to tell the manager, he simply suggested we ask someone in another room to use their shower and he said he would move us rooms. That never happened. Damp on the walls and ceiling. Bad TV signal which wasn't a major problem but can be easily fixed. Wasn't informed of any safety procedures upon entering and was told nothing about breakfast which we were told was included in the price. We actually had a carrier bag over our smoke alarm in the room, so not sure what the reason for that was. Rarely would we see any members of staff around the hotel or bar area, so a question of security would enter my mind.
Review 91:The bed was comfortable enough, and we had a kettle and was supplied with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We ordered food to be delivered to the hotel which wasnt a problem with the staff members.
Review 92:Lounge was ok but no real beer Car park full of builders rubbish The whole place had a feeling of being run down ,with dirty stain marks in lots of places
Review 93:Breakfast reasonable although not much
Review 94:Mold in the bathroom, shower head leak in all directions. No shower gel. Fire alarm detector wrapped in plastic bag. Only one hanger for 3 persons.
Review 95:Good location
Review 96:roof leaking many places , peeling wallpaper , damp patches and mould on ceiling and walls. bathroom lights and fan didn't work presumably due to roof leak above light fitting. Breakfast too greasy to eat. mattress worn out springs sticking through. Never again.
Review 97:good central location with parking
Review 98:If I'd have arrived with my partner I'd not have booked in. The hotel was very very tired, holes in ceiling and generally tatty, The breakfast wasn't worth eating. Surprised that Booking.com feature this place as it reflects badly on them.
Review 99:The bed clothes were clean and crisp
Review 100:bed was unbelievably uncomfortable.. could hear what was going on in neighbouring rooms and outside noise even thought we where at the back of the hotel was loud
Review 101:locations was ok only a few minutes from the station
Review 102:It was filthy, you could not have a key to the front door. The door onthe room would not open. The so-called bathroom was disgusting, it wasfilthy, mouldy and smelly. Do not stay here if you value your health
Review 103:Opposite a supermarket where I could buy bleach
Review 104:There was nothing I liked about the place. Leaking toilet and shower. No carpets on the floor. Looked like water been running under laminate flooring for a long time judging by the state of the flooring. Bathroom and shower filthy.
Review 105:Stone cold shower, bar of soap, wall paper hanging of walls. Needs a makeover.
Review 106:Comfy bed and fairly clean. Were going to Wembley so fantastic location for that. Staff were all very pleasant.
Review 107:Dirty floors broken beds dirty bathrooms , mouldy walls fousty smell everywhere, live wires hanging from ceiling, and as for the continental breakfast, cereal a few croissants and a few slices of cheese is bit the best way to start your day! Will never return EVER!
Review 108:........
Review 109:Damp & mould on windows, cieling & walls in bedroom & shower room, carpet threadbare...give bedroom 1 out of 10.
Review 110:Bar was cheap Landlord was knowledgeable & pleasant.
Review 111:Just about everything else. The rooms are tired and patched together with bits of wood and glue. The parking at the back is too difficult to get to as the drive is too narrow. The drains are leaking raw sewage onto the main road at the front of the hotel suggesting that the main sewer is blocked.
Review 112:The evening staff was friendly and helpful
Review 113:We stayed for one night in the 3-bed room at the back and to be honest were appalled. It was dirty, there was an unpleasant smell and wires hanging from sockets and connection points. The toilet leaked - hopefully from the cistern, not outgoing - there was a pool of water on the floor. Fittings and brackets were hanging off and the plug holes were black. There is no maintenance taking place as walls were bare plaster and not painted and no carpet in areas. The tea and coffee facilities were very unhygienic, the kettle was extremely dirty as were the cups. The breakfast was really ropey too, bottom of the range food. It wasn't cheap as it was Harrow but defo not good value or to be recommended. Was like some sort of slum-hostel!!
Review 114:The TV was a flat screen!
Review 115:Would like to have seen the room first, before the 'welcome' of having to pay!! Needs a lot of attention: mouldy shower curtain & lots of mildew present - didn't feel comfortable to use the shower. Paper hanging off the ceiling/wall in places & leak in the hallway. Very disappointed with the lack of breakfast; nothing cooked at the weekend & little variety.
Review 116:Bed was comfortable enough.
Review 117:All was good I have no complaints and neither did my friend.
Review 118:Me and a friend were going to Wembley to watch eminem and didn't want to pay inflated prices so when the lindal showed up I booked it straight away,22.50 each for the night is such a bargain!Turned out to be a mint hotel, very attentive staff and cold cheap beer even bowls of cereal and cups of tea in the morning. If you want a bed for the night and aren't a travel lodge standard fool(it's not the dorchester is it)then I recommend the lindal.
Review 119:Bathroom was mouldy on tiles and in the shower
Review 120:I was worried about staying here because of bad reviews but it was fine. Its a cheap hotel close to wembley stadium and a fraction of the price of other hotels yes it wasn't very clean in the bathroom but the beds were spotless and comfy and staff were friendly. Cheap drinks in the bar. What more do u want for how cheap it is? We stayed here when we went to see eminem at wembley stadium it's very close and taxi cost £8. If u just want somewhere comfy to sleep at a very cheap price then this hotel is for you.
Review 121:Bit shabby and unable to have breakfast at 7 am
Review 122:Suited my needs close to underground station. Staff helpful. Allowed to use parking day after until return from londo7n centre
Review 123:showerhead dirty with mould tiles also mouldy evidence of damp in ceilings in room and landing room too small for double bed stained carpet window frame dirty
Review 124:could get a pint atbar nextdoor right across road from tescos clean bedlinen and towels
Review 125:Very basic rooms. Cold bathroom
Review 126:Breakfast
Review 127:No sound proofing. Couldn't sleep. Cheap furnishings and badly done. Looks clean but feels dirty.
Review 128:Reminiscent of fawlty towers, run down and in need of some TLC, bathroom was unclean shower head was mouldy
Review 129:Great location free parking free wifi
Review 130:Far far too cold, no heating
Review 131:Location! Right near tubes and decent shopps! Lovely bed
Review 132:Enjoyed staying at lindal, staff always on hand & flexible when it came to my stay Would stay again
