Reviews for Three Ways House
Review 1:We weren't inspired by the dinner menu so we ate at the local pub instead.
Review 2:The wonderful location - we went walking to Hidcote Bartrim. The map was supplied by the hotel. Superb breakfast with all local ingredients.
Review 3:Only one negative - When I arrived I had a virtual business meeting (live Webinar). My laptop wouldn't connect to WiFi in room; rapid help from staff but to no avail, so used lounge (which worked well and luckily quiet as few guests at that time.
Review 4:Comfort and facilities in room. Plenty of sockets, good lighting, 2 chairs, writing table, good temperature control and fully opening windows. Toiletries nice quality. Bar good value food. WiFi in room (reasonable) and lounge (excellent). Booster for mobile signal in lounge. On this occasion wonderfully quiet as few tourists. Open fire in lounge. Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 5:Disappointing room. Very small with tiny ensuite with nowhere to hang towels whilst showering. Would have expected a larger room and shower room for price we were charged. However a reduction in price was given when we explained the problem x
Review 6:the coffee
Review 7:food and welcome excellent. great for a business trip but also as an indulgent overnight stay with really good dining.appears to be well frequented by locals of the area and good base for exploring the area
Review 8:Thought standard room at £130 was overpriced compared to similar stays elsewhere. Think at £37 each to enjoy the pudding club after £130 room price plus bar drinks makes it an expensive nights stay.
Review 9:Thought pudding club concept a novel idea. Breakfast lovely. Good location.
Review 10:The warm welcome, the immaculate and comfortable room, the ample and tasty breakfasts, the very good brasserie food and the attractive decor were all very positive features of this lovely hotel.
Review 11:We really enjoyed the location near so many Cotswolds attractions. The puddings were very lovely. So was the other food. We felt pampered every time we ate
Review 12:All our preliminary queries were answered very promptly. Nothing was too much trouble when we were there - the hotel was especially thoughtful in allocating a room suitable for guests with a dog, and the special dog pack was brilliant. Very helpful with local walks and maps. Gave us special table in the bar so we could have our dog with us. The food was very good - lots of local ingredients. The hotel was very busy, but the management dealt effectively with a wide range of clients at the same time.
Review 13:Thin walls wedding going on noisy at midnight from revelers. Bed not big enough should be a king size, and not comfortable.
Review 14:Nice room size, good breakfast.
Review 15:Kippers hadn't been defrosted fully, warm on outside cold on the inside - shouldn't happen
Review 16:Friendly and helpful Staff, Comfortable, Good food (When problem sorted), Good atmosphere
Review 17:We felt that the room was not adequate for two people, the bathroom was small and did not have an extractor fan. There was not enough room to put down bits and pieces
Review 18:Good food, good location excellent service
Review 19:This is a lovely hotel in a location to match. It is very professionally run with a fabulous restaurant (amazing puddings obviously!) and excellent staff. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
Review 20:Light above basin too dim. Bath very small but OK for a small person, or for standing under shower. Noise apparent from other people going to their rooms, but short lived thankfully. Wifi signal got weaker as the evening progressed - maybe due to heavier use? Restaurant menu expensive (set menu ~£32 for 2 courses).
Review 21:Excellent breakfast and good service (often lacking in hotels). Food in bar area good value (day menu deal £15.50 for 2 courses) and freshly prepared, piping hot, and obliging about likes/dislikes. Much of the food is locally sourced. Room well appointed with plenty of sockets, lights, chairs, desk area, aircon, bath robes, double bed with plenty of pillows, hairdryer; with tea/Nespresso machine, water and homemade biscuits. Good towels, nice toiletries, heated towel rail, bath/shower over. Wifi (free) throughout (very unusual in hotels in the area). Booster for main mobile providers advertised in public area, but I didn't find it (again unusual but necessary as no mobile signal in much of the area). Lift to upper floors. Parking in car park and overflow onto road side.
Review 22:Nothing
Review 23:The inn was charming with great food and service. The village of Mickleton is small, a nice break after busy London and Oxford, but had multiple choices for pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend this inn and a visit to Chipping Camden and Hidcote Gardens.
Review 24:Amusing and unique room - only time we' re stayed in a 'Syrup Sponge' themed room! Worth trying the Pudding Club if you'be a hearty appetite.
Review 25:Nothing negative.
Review 26:We had a very nice room which you couldn't fault. Liked the fact that you could order puddings from Pudding Club even though not on an official 'Pudding Club' visit. Everything was excellent.
Review 27:Everything was excellent, our only small complaint was that the breakfast was a little cold, on one morning in particular. It would also be nice to have an option for vegetarians for breakfast such as veggie sausage or bacon. But this didn't hugely affect what was a lovely hotel and relaxing experience.
Review 28:Lovely hotel. Just the right balance of friendliness and feeling respected. Comfortable in both decor and atmosphere. We loved the communal areas, the lounge was especially atmospheric.
Review 29:Dinner was a little pricey for a two course meal although the food was very good.
Review 30:Excellent room (stayed in the Chocolate Suite which was very quirky) and staff very helpful. Food very good.
Review 31:Bed was quite small (husband is tall) Due to the humidity, it was really hot (no air con)
Review 32:Staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful village. Would definitely stay again.
Review 33:My bed was damp and smelled of dog. I later learned dogs stay in that room, we didn't know before. The Owner was rude and in-denial when I told him about the wet, doggy bed.
Review 34:Helpful Reception staff.
Review 35:The restaurant is popular and therefore the limited parking for both the hotel and the dining visitors was a challenge. This was the main reason we went elsewhere to eat - there was nowhere to park until after 8pm on a week night. The common room is stuffy and smells strongly of wood smoke.
Review 36:The room was large, well appointed and the bath was luxurious. There was a small private garden will table and chairs surrounded by lovely plantings. It was quiet even with the windows open. This is a proper hotel with a common room full of sofas and overstuffed chairs, books and board games. Breakfast was delicious. We had to go out of town for an affordable dinner but not far.
Review 37:Just that the bed/pillows were not great for us.
Review 38:The Village location was very nice, it had a very nice garden. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, without exception
Review 39:Lovely setting, with a pleasant garden attached to the bar. Top restaurant (with must-have Pudding Club dessert), and a nice lounge for enjoying a postprandial tipple over a board game. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Room nicely appointed and comfortable. Wonderful, attentive and helpful staff at the front desk and restaurant.
Review 40:Drinks a little expensive as was the food. Only a few options to eat in the village. Traffic a little noises but didn't request quiet room when booked hotel so perhaps my own fault
Review 41:The room was comfortable with bath and shower. Good tea and coffee supply and cleanliness very good
Review 42:Orange juice and coffee at breakfast were of poor quality. Stale smell of the fire in the unventilated lounge was unpleasant
Review 43:Dinner in the brasserie was excellent
Review 44:The skirting board at the bottom of the shower door was dirty and damaged. A small section of the seam of the duvet cover had come apart.
Review 45:Overall the hotel, the food, the wine, the staff and the location were very good, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay and I would be more than happy to visit again in the future.
Review 46:The dining room is quite old fashioned, but then it mainly caters for older customers. They offer breakfast in the room which we thought would be a nice idea, however they don't provide trays or means to eat the food in bed, which was fairly awkward.
Review 47:The staff were generally very friendly and the hotel was pleasant.
Review 48:We got upgraded into a pudding club room on arrival, it was my birthday weekend so it a nice surprise. Room was very clean & comfortable . Breakfast was good & Dinner in the hotel was superb too !
Review 49:a slight hint of the sheets not being crystal white and a small spot possible blood. could do with more shelf space in the bathroom to put bottles etc on
Review 50:the staff were very attentive. The breakfast food was of a very good quality and the bacon was crisp just as I like it. coffee was offered as we sat and spent dishes taken quickly. the room was light as we like it
Review 51:Terrible service at the bistro. Terrible. Food is good, but you have towait. And wait. And wait. Even if you are the only one there...We hadto get up every time we wanted anything -- and wait until thebartender/hostess/waitress deigned to look at us. Older"gentleman" running the breakfast area looks annoyed andpained that you're bothering him. Bed was likely purchased before1970. Lumpy and awful. Our road faced a pretty busy two-lane road. Lotsof road noise & trucks in the early morning. Could not wait tocheck out.
Review 52:Woman who checked us in was lovely. Food in the bistro is good as is thepudding, for which they're famous. But...I Would not stay hereagain. Ever.
Review 53:The double bed was a bit small and our bathroom was compact and bijoux.
Review 54:The food in the bar and at breakfast was very good. It was nice to sit in the garden and have a beer. The rooms are spotless.
Review 55:The room was a little on the small side but not complaining.
Review 56:The hotel staff are unbelievably friendly and more than happy to help! We had abit of a naughty dog (first trip for him) he didn't want to leave our side.. The hotel staff allowed him to sit with us at all meal times and even set up a table outside in the garden for us on a sunny hot day and reserved this for us until we came back from our day of exploring.. Thank you for been so understanding :)
Review 57:We felt that one or two of the younger members of staff in the bar we're a bit terse and would benefit from some customer service training.
Review 58:Dining Room was very good, both food and staff.
Review 59:We had to change rooms in the middle of our second night because of an unexplained, intrusive and relentless noise. The night receptionist was as helpful as he could be, but it made for a very disturbed night.
Review 60:The location was ideal for the purpose of our visit.
Review 61:Nothing!
Review 62:We had an excellent stay. Friendly, efficient staff, clean well maintained rooms, and food to die for. Hope to return in the not-too-distant future.
Review 63:Our room (superior, No 29) we liked the sloping ceilings, cruck beams etc. and the luxury bathroom. The location in a lovely Cotswolds village. The quiet, understated quality feel of the place and its ambience. The food.
Review 64:evening meals a bit overpriced in evening restaurant very noisy with two coachloads of tourists. An uncomfortably droning fan near our room in evening & when we woke up.
Review 65:Friendly service and excellent breakfast
Review 66:did not like the fact dogs where allowed ,sorry not for us could smell 'dogs' down main corridor to bedroom .
Review 67:comfy stay in lovely room comfy bed. new bathroom .. overall cleanliness,Lovely log fires .friendly staff parking on site...lovely breakfasts good choice of fresh fruit ceareals croissants & lovely cooked breakfast .large dining room nicely decorated
Review 68:Poor meal on 1 occasion at Dinner. Way too much pepper in mashed potatoespoilt the overall enjoyment of meal. Our room was directly above theBrasserie which hosted late night revellers until 22 am on 1 nights stayhence disturbed our sleep
Review 69:Cotswold location. Cleanliness + Decor.Most meals.
Review 70:The hotel is very pleasant. Our room was a good size and the decor very good, with a nespresso coffee and Bose sound system. The village itself seems very welcoming and there are a choice of venues to eat at. A great stay.
Review 71:Little more than we would have normally paid but worth every penny as a 'one off'
Review 72:Beautifully decorated room. Extremely comfy bed. Welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast.
Review 73:Dining room was a little too 'bright' and 'formal' for our taste so we decided to go across the road to the Kings Arms pub for dinner. This turned out to be th right decision as we are not big 'pudding' eaters and the pub food was brassarie standard and excellent. Breakfast was served as a buffet...rather expecting the hot food would be cooked to order for this style of hotel.
Review 74:Relaxed atmosphere....very cosy with real log fire in the lounge. Genuine positive atttiude towards pets....Nice touch with a dog 'box' in the room - included a water bowl / blanket / towel and recommended local walk. Would definitly come back here for this reason
Review 75:The bedroom was very small. We had to keep moving furniture to get to the bed. Further facilities for cleaning our muddy boots would have helped.
Review 76:The staff were very warm and friendly. We booked into the Pudding Club for one evening. It was great fun. Location excellent for walking. Very good king size bed. Good breakfast. We had a great time overall.
Review 77:Bathroom small & room had little character but only spend one night at the hotel so not a problem.
Review 78:Fantastic welcome from the owner, he helped us up to the room with our bags. Good evening meal & well above average breakfast. Lovely village. We will book again if we are in the area.
Review 79:Short on parking spaces.
Review 80:Staff, including the owner, were friendly and professional without being a nuisance. The food was as one would expect from this type of establishment.
Review 81:The decor. The room was quirky and very dark and dingy. Not to our taste. We booked a standard room but was 'upgraded' to a pudding club room without consultation. The room is an acquired taste, unfortunately not ours.
Review 82:The bed was comfortable and good shower. The bath robes and Molton Brown toiletries were welcome. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room.
Review 83:PILLOWS NOT ENOUGH OF THE RIGHT KIND!!!! WE CAME DOWN TO JOIN OUR FRIENDS 45TH WED/ANNI,, FOR LUNCH AND ALSO TO EXPERIENCE THE VERY WELL LOVED PUDDING CLUB!! Review 84:A MUCH LOVED WEEKEND, LOVED THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE
Review 85:Had issues with wifi in the room
Review 86:The bed was comfortable. The food excellent and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Facilities were extremely clean and breakfasts were always great
Review 87:Staff could smile a bit more, on the first day asked for a sandwich but was told no service available but checking the bar menu on the last day food could be ordered all day?
Review 88:Room was very nice and location excellent
Review 89:Shower a bit feral.
Review 90:Quiet village walking distance to hidcote gardens and chipping Camden. Food staff and accom all good. Interesting decor in the sticky date room!
Review 91:Unfortunately booked on a weekend when there was a wedding party.
Review 92:Friendly staff. Large, comfortable visitors lounge. Nice room décor. Fantastic food. Lots of interesting places to visit.
Review 93:Unfortunately the cooked breakfast buffet on the first morning had been prepare way in advance and was rather dry.
Review 94:The freshly cooked breakfast, to order, on the second morning was very good.
Review 95:Nothing I can think of
Review 96:The staff were very attentive The food was very good The hotel was very well run - it was a full house ! The hotel is 5 mins from Chipping Campden which was great
Review 97:We went for our ruby wedding anniversary. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. We had an upgraded room everything was good the bed was really comfortable pillows wonderful we overlooked the garden.
Review 98:Location a little remote, nothing at all in Mickleton itself. We ate in the restaurant which was very quiet so not much atmosphere, we had a two course meal and one glass of wine each and the bill was just short of £80! The room was very dark, a pudding room called 'Lord Randalls Bedchamber' with strange painted murals. We are still trying to work out the connection with puddings!!!
Review 99:Overall the staff were very friendly, polite & offered an excellent service. Very clean hotel & well looked after. Good food, plenty of choice on the breakfast buffet
Review 100:The evening meal at £31 each was too expensive in comparison to other places. We also felt the meals could hve been presented. Next time will go to the pub down the road which appeared to be better presented and better value for money
Review 101:Made very welcome. Hotel very clean friendly staff. Rooms well decorated and a large comfortable visitors lounge. A good choice at breakfast
Review 102:Beautiful old hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Enjoyed the Pudding Club and meeting the people who attended. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Would love to go there again.

Review 104:The Three Ways is a welcoming , comfortable, well maintained and managed , with excellent dinners served in an elegant dining room. Our bedroom was comfortable with pleasant views overlooking the garden.
Review 105:Poorly ventilated room. Overpriced food not of top quality. The feeling of being rushed to order in the dining room for dinner because the hotel was 'busy'.
Review 106:The location, the grounds. Lovely being able to sit outside in the sunshine.
Review 107:service in Brasserie not as good as rest of hotel - they were particularly busy on the night we visited. Buffet food at breakfast only average.
Review 108:superb location. Beautiful room and bathroom. Lovely old building. Some excellent staff, particularly on reception. Good facilities overall. Food in Brasserie good.
Review 109:I booked a night as a treat for my mum's 80th birthday. I informed the hotel that this was the context of the stay and the staff were wonderfully attentive. My mother returned, purring at the exceptional treatment.
Review 110:Nothing !!
Review 111:Great location, friendly staff. Lovely surroundings and great for travelling around The Cotswolds. We were lucky enough to go to The Pudding Club too !! What an experience - mustn't be missed !! Also very dog friendly as we travelled with our dog and she was very welcome!
Review 112:Upgraded to one of the pudding rooms. Syrup pudding room, so tastefully decorated around Tate and lyles Syrup.
Review 113:Almost no vegetarian dining options in the evening so we had to eat out both nights.
Review 114:General ambience and location. Kipper at breakfast.
Review 115:very friendly and accommodating staff
