Reviews for Hôtel Jaures
Review 1:room at the top of a very steep and smelly staircase
Review 2:room itself was basic but clean, nice bathroom, close to railway station got the bus easily and very cheap to the airport
Review 3:Quite old Hotel, rooms need a urgent refreshment and more attention to cleaness.
Review 4:Location
Review 5:L`hotel se trouve pres du centre ville. La chambre est simple mais confortable et propre.
Review 6:Only a bath with a shower head so not easy to have a proper shower.
Review 7:Not in a great area
Review 8:Walking distance to train station. Budget friendly
Review 9:Very close to the railway station
Review 10:No elevator, it's certainly a minus but which didn't make us sad because we were on 3rd floor. Breakfast wasn't the best in southern France, which was ok.
Review 11:Staff all very nice and willing to help. Decorations simple and calm. Bathtub was a nice surprise. For this price, frankly we could have expected something much less in every aspect.
Review 12:The stairs. So many stairs and we were on the top floor. We had two large suitcases with us. Also in our desperate rush to check out, we were waiting at reception for at least five minutes with another girl wanting to check out waiting before us.
Review 13:The cost was decent and the bathroom was the cleanest we had experienced out of the several hostels we stayed at.
Review 14:Bit of a climb to the upper floors for the unfit/infirm. Carpet in our room was like walking on bed of nails.
Review 15:Great value for money. Central location. Friendly, helpful staff. Great coffee from machine.
Review 16:The hotel is in a rather delapidated building and neighborhood. The room is extremely narrow and mightily high, giving a rather unsettling feeling at first. The towels look rather worn and there's no phone nor hair-dryer. The hotel is on the opposite side from Hotel Jaures and is under a different name with no staff. If budget is not your primary concern, you might want to consider another hotel in a better location and better facilities.
Review 17:It's about a 10-minute walk from the rail station. The price is right for the budget-conscious. It is air-conditioned.
Review 18:The 'overlooking courtyard' was a tiny yard out the back with rubbish. There was no a/c and it was really hot! No window in the bathroom and decoration was very rundown. It was located in a street that didn't feel safe.
Review 19:The manager/proprietor was friendly and apologetic because the room had be booked for 2 people when it was only one and therefore I had be charged too much that couldn't be changed.
Review 20:We actually booked this hotel but were taken to another hotel round the corner. Which is not a big deal, but obviously a bit strange. We booked a double room, but were actually given a family room with 3 beds. Bathroom needed some work doing on the plumbing as water came out of sink when water was draining from the shower. They actually had the prices of the room on the back of our room door, and they were actually a whole lot cheaper than we were paying!!
Review 21:Close to the beach, and in the city centre as well.
Review 22:Nothing special all ok
Review 23:Very nice hotel, good and cheap breakfest, big room and bathroom, excellent location (Toulon is very nice and authentic city it has a nice beach with free parking) and excellent and friendly staff. I hope some day will stay there again
Review 24:I wish they had non-smoking rooms. The main downgrade from a perfect 10 was due to the fact that even after days I still smelled the previous occupant's cigarettes. Leaving the window open helped a bit but only so much.
Review 25:The location is great. 5 minutes walk from train station, even closer to centre of town. Nevertheless it was absolutely quiet in my room (facing the courtyard), so I got good sleep. Reception is very helpful with anything including luggage storage.
Review 26:Spacious room with large bathroom, clean with plain but nice furnishings in old townhouse. Luckily I was on one of the lower floors as the building appeared to go up and up!
Review 27:Room was very small - pretty much room for a double bed and that's it! It had a TV but no other "luxuries" like a kettle etc. No lift and many, many stairs to climb if you're staying on the top floors (as I was). Being fit helps! I was offered breakfast but chose to buy stuff at the market instead so no idea how good it was. Compared to UK prices this is not good value for money but that is down to the exchange rate I guess and everywhere else was even more expensive!
Review 28:Although I booked for Jaures I was actually placed in the Hotel Alles just round the corner which was also owned by the same guy. Nice old French building - quite cool. A good view of the harbour/sea. Clean room. Bathroom/shower all worked and was prefectly adequate/clean. Close to the main shops, impressive Saturday market, harbourside restaurants/bars and rugby stadium (which is why was there). I only needed to talk to staff to collect my keys & pay the bill - no issues. In summary I just needed a cheap "crash pad" for a couple of nights and this is basically what it was so no complaints.
Review 29:Too small Not modern
Review 30:Location very good,
Review 31:Very noisy couple in the room next door, poor breakfast

Review 33:Just the best...Smacked in Toulon Center...What's more do you want?
Review 34:Very nice terasse, it was worth climbing the six floors, since there was no elevator.
Review 35:Area wasn't great,just ok.
Review 36:Staff excellent,very helpful.Good value for money.
Review 37:Bathroom arrangements in room.
