Reviews for The Malvern
Review 1:The size & quality of room poor. Misrepresentation of location & views from hotel . We concerns with reception , was promised a manager would speak to us , never did !!!
Review 2:Not a lot
Review 3:Check out member was extremely rude, unhelpful, duplicated items and got irate when asked to explain the bill. Didn't care or explain other questions asked. Breakfast was very poor. Eggs overcooked, bean juice crispy where it had been left so long, bacon green tinged.
Review 4:As a return guest I knew what to expect. Comfortable rooms and most staff polite and helpful
Review 5:Hotel a bit on the outskirts and in a business Park and a bit of a struggle at time finding a parking place.
Review 6:Good comfortable room, good access to spa facilities, good quality food in restaurant. Outside pool in spa particularly good.
Review 7:None.
Review 8:The staff were extremely helpful. The pool was hot and the whole ambience was calming and restful. We left refreshed and recharged. Whilst it is based on an business park/ shopping area it is only a short drive to the Malvern hills. We are in the restaurant and found the food very good. There was a large xmas party going on but luckily we had finished as they sat down to eat. Had a good nights sleep.
Review 9:Slightly out of the town but hotel itself amazing 9-10 minute drive from the centre of malvern town
Review 10:Staff super friendly and helpful Pool amazing Relaxed feel throughout the hotel Great breakfast
Review 11:We stayed overnight and thought the rooms were quite basic and very plain, need a little atmosphere. Carpets in the room and Hallway were stained and some fittings to the room shabby and needed adjusting. We ate in the Restaurant twice, think quality of the food needs looking at, as both times food was dry and re-heated. We would definately return to the Malvern but only to use the Spa.
Review 12:Spa was just amazing, a little piece of Heaven. Will definately return to use the Spa. Everything you need to relax and more!!
Review 13:Double bed was a standard 4'6" which is unusual for a hotel. Hotel is situated in an industrial park and right next to a retail park. Had a problem with the safe which was not rectified despite reporting it straight away.
Review 14:Rooms were a good size and the bed was comfortable. Staff were pleasant and spa facilities were very good.
Review 15:The first mornings breakfast was all together poor. Hard poached eggs, under cooked bacon and just not very good at all. Soft furnishings and some furniture in our room was looking worn and in need of replacement.
Review 16:Loved the spa pool after a long days work!
Review 17:Spa hotels in middle of industrial estate, does not enhance the experience. No early/late checkin/checkout without paying extra to use spa facility Car parking limited due to amount of day visitors to spa. Too many people with glass containers around pool, not really safe
Review 18:Wasn't expecting the hotel to be on an industrial/office estate! On the other hand, it was close to the showground, which suited us.
Review 19:We liked everything about this spa. And it is a spa, not just an ordinary hotel. Everything revolves around the spa facilities. Guests wander about the building in their hotel wrap and slippers which are waiting for you in your room. You are requested to wear a gown in the restaurant- We did think about going down to dinner in our onesies, but having tasted the fabulous food, were glad we dressed up! Staff can't do enough for you, all with a smile.
Review 20:We knew the hotel was a spa , but the spa totally dominated the rest of the facility. Even to the extent that people ate in the restaurant in bath robes with towels around their heads!
Review 21:The staff were very friendly, the room clean and comfortable, the restaurant and menu were excellent.
Review 22:This is a 2* hotel masquerading as a 4*. It is a Spa hotel with standard hotel facilities as an afterthought. The hotel is confused over what it is; Spa or hotel.
Review 23:Compact hotel with all rooms close to the centre and facilities. Car parking is close to the reception and adequate space.
Review 24:The breakfast is a bit of a let down. There is a choice of what I think is continental (very minimal and expensive) and English breakfast (very expensive). Not worth it. This is mainly a spa but the smoothies sold are not fresh. Maybe using fresh ingredients may be more appealing and cheaper to produce!
Review 25:The gym and spa facilities are really good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable.
Review 26:Thought from the website it was located in nice setting however not the case on an industrial estate not a holiday location.
Review 27:Hotel was nice from inside.
Review 28:Date of birth, creating password, email address - all needed to getWiFi. Cell phone almost non-operational due to structure of building.Key, swipe card, needed to get around. Door does not lock unless you usethe key when you leave. Must get wet before you know what temp theshower will be!!!
Review 29:Almost nothing. Located in an industrial park.
Review 30:location was terrible...on a business park breakfast was poor ...worse than poor no atmosphere in restaurant food was trying to be haute cuisine...but was not
Review 31:pool
Review 32:Having stayed several times in recent years we noticed that the hotel is becoming a little untidy and in need of extra maintenance and deep clean.
Review 33:Hydrotherapy pool etc. was excellent. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.
Review 34:Location .. Basically a box on an industrial estate so lacks any soul or character. Did not like all the enemies and other product adverts all around the relaxing spa area it spoilt the feel of a relaxing lounge area。..the adverts should be limited maybe too lobby area or in room info or leaflets only so not displayed .
Review 35:Rooms comfortable , aircons and blackout curtains nice
Review 36:Breakfast options nothing special and not topped up very promptly, would go room only next time, cafe nero, premier inn and m+s food all close by.
Review 37:Excellent spa facilities, lovely pool, very warm with powerful jets!
Review 38:On the Monday breakfast could have been better. No plates or glasses were available.
Review 39:Spa facilities Room was very comfortable Friendly and helpful staff
Review 40:Catering staff were over run.No bartender available to serve drinks. Long wait at bar, long wait for service at breakfast and evening meal. Some equipment in spa pool not working, The hotel should have waiters available for a drinks service in the spa And pool area. Instead you have to wander thru the hotel to get a drink. The shower valve in our room would only dispense luke warm water.
Review 41:The few catering staff that were working tried there best to make up for the lack of staff.
Review 42:Not a lot of choice in the restaurant menu.
Review 43:Fantastic pool, so lovely and warm! Spa treatments a dream, staff very helpful and friendly, rooms very comfortable and clean.
Review 44:Bar area is a wasted opportunity. No one ever seems to go there. In no way inviting. Changed wifi, asks too many questions before allowing you Internet Access. Breakfast is probably better that I appreciate, usually have porridge.
Review 45:Good hotel in general.
Review 46:Shower in room could not change temperature,we didn't inform hotel until departure so staff could not be blamed for this. As I am sure they would have looked into the issue
Review 47:Breakfast is excellent, pool is great
Review 48:Little or no lounge area for hotel guests only. Having to sit for a drink either on the two bar stools or outside in the car park with little screening. People wondering around in the restaurant and outside in their white dressing gowns and slippers. Executive double bedroom very basic
Review 49:Staff very friendly and a good breakfast
Review 50:One of the steam rooms was broken and this was disappointing . The restaurant has no atmosphere and needs a bar area were you can sit with a drink and have a chat .
Review 51:From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed . Our treatments were the best we have had anywhere . The spa area was well thought out and the pool area was lovely .
Review 52:you couldn't just access WiFi, needed passwords ect. Bed was for a 10 yr old. Tea and coffee... No sweetener, poor ration of uht milk!
Review 53:Had a really relaxed feel to the place x the pool was amazing x the outdoor area was amazing too.
Review 54:The location is on the edge of an industrial estate.
Review 55:The spa is lovely and a properly made poached egg for breakfast is impressive. Also a freshly made individual cup of coffee is great. Also loved Great Malvern.
Review 56:Apart from day 1, breakfast choice was inaccurate/delayed by 25 minutes/ or choices were unavailable.
Review 57:Staff in reception and spa were helpful and accommodating.
Review 58:Nothing bad at all.
Review 59:Loved the spa! We asked for a high up quiet room and that is exactly what we got. Staff in all areas were EXCEPTIONAL - so helpful and friendly.
Review 60:Alcohol in pool area, resulting in people hogging the water jets, using it for social instead of remedial. Decided to use pool early morning and avoid it later on
Review 61:The Staff are very kind and friendly. Nice new touches in the room with delicious biscuits and a coffee filter. Everything very clean and tidy
Review 62:Characterless, somewhat antiseptic place. Staff were professional but lacked warmth. No internet connection . Bizarre shower arrangement which lead us to flooding the bathroom.
Review 63:Plenty of parking. Room & food were ok.
Review 64:booking in not allowd untill 3.30pn so no youse of the facillities on day of arrival booked out by 11.ooam so no real use of facillities poor. No handles in the bath /shower were told after the avent you have to ask for them ?
Review 65:Warm welcome , 5 star staff, fabulous Spa facilities , really great menu ( and Waitress + chef arranged a special dinner request , really outstanding meal, especially for vegetarians like us)
Review 66:The beds were to small for this day and age most places we stay have king size beds also the air conditioning was very poor the room was so hot kept waking up would think about staying here again it's a shame because lovely spa
Review 67:Spa very good
Review 68:Hotel in slightly odd location - out of town near on a business park..Couple of miles into Malvern. That said, when inside this of no relevance. View out of room window was of car park and warehouse!
Review 69:Hotel was modern, clean with great gym and spa facilities. Dinner was really good in the restaurant.
Review 70:Sauna weren't working in the morning which was disappointing; service was patchy at breakfast; bathroom didn't feel like it had a thorough cleaning
Review 71:Comfortable modern room; Liked outdoor spa area; Good range of saunas; Breakfast was good.
Review 72:Food not brilliant although the chips are excellent, not good breakfast, waitress staff friendly but not efficient, there did not appear to be any management around.
Review 73:Wonderful pool and facilities, very friendly staff. Room comfortable and clean
Review 74:Handle fell off bedroom door, had to call reception to let us out, still wasn't fixed 3 hours later. shortness of staff on duty, English breakfast was below average,
Review 75:Lovely spa facilities, pools were fantastic,
Review 76:Hydro pool was very busy with regular gym & spa members. Some people treat the spa as a bar and carry full glasses of alcohol through the pool.
Review 77:The staff is extremely polite, professional and acomodating. The food in the braserrie is superb and the spa treatments are well worth it!
Review 78:Ice maker in steam / sauna area no longer working. Heated towel rails in rooms disconnected so difficult to dry / air sportswear after use. Limited menu. Breakfast buffet items not quickly replenished - needed to ask, even for basics like orange juice.
Review 79:Spa facilities and friendly staff. Easy to find and good location.
Review 80:Some staff training needed in the dining room; charging costs to room number system prone to errors; bills could be clearer - some unexplained charges. Hotel miles from Malvern!
Review 81:cheerful staff, space in the rooms.
Review 82:Bar should be completely separate from dining area. Having a drink at the bar did not seem like a good option. It would be useful to have a holding bar in the shower which felt a bit unsafe especially for older people like us
Review 83:We spent four excellent nights in the hotel. The executive room was large and the bed very comfortable. Some drawers would have been expected but this is only a small niggle. The receptionists were some of the nicest we have ever encounted and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was enjoyable and the service excellent. Will certainly return, perticularly as there was more to see in the area than we had time for.
Review 84:The bistro is no informal alternative dining to the restaurant, we couldnt even get afternoon tea there, just a drink and a very average pastry. The shower from the room above ours leaked through the ceiling so you would have showered in the dirty water from the room above. We booked for three nights but needless to say we left after one.
Review 85:The staff were very helpful and friendly
Review 86:The first night I found our room somewhat noisy but slept soundly subsequently.
Review 87:The spa facilities were excellent and the staff friendly. The gym was good too. There was plenty of parking and the location made it good from a transport point of view. Malvern water really is amazing!
Review 88:A lot of drunk people on the Sunday afternoon using the pool and saunas...not very wise of them and not very attractive advert for the Hotel
Review 89:Morning pool sessions before everyone gets up!
Review 90:Service at breakfast, quality of the breakfast - didn't even go down on the 2nd morning, went to Morrisons instead. Pool area needs a little TLC. Black hairs found in bed, on robe and several on bathroom floor! - I am blonde so not me!
Review 91:Treatments, evening meal, attendant brining drinks to the pool area - she never stopped! Changing rooms nice.
Review 92:All was great apart from the drap looking stained carpets outside the rooms. And the fact that they took a 50£ deposit upon booking in and then charging the full amount when upon leaving. If I hadn't of checked the bank two days after I wouldn't of nown. As there was no notes in the invoice to say deposit hd been taken.
Review 93:Really hot pool. Great service.
Review 94:Great hotel, staff were amazing, rang reception from the room twice and they sorted our problems within 5 minutes, food in the restaurant was class, definitely return
Review 95:Although the food was excellent more variety for those with different dietary requirements would have made an excellent weekend even more perfect.
Review 96:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were an example to all. The spa pool is not to be missed.
Review 97:We went for a calm break after a stressful few months and the pool and grand salon were littered with dirty cups, glasses and towels. Apparently the spa attendant was sick. From 4-8 the area was horrid. Spoilt our break. I was offered a free pass when we left to come back another day but this wasn't really the point.
Review 98:Staff at check in Pool Steam room Bath
Review 99:Only problem, disabled parking. All spaces bar one taken by cars without blue badge. Informed staff but cars not moved.
Review 100:All the staff very friendly and helpful. Could not fault them.
Review 101:Poor drinks service at the start of the Friday eve meal. Had to wait 25 mins for drink to arrive. No 1 rule - drinks first then meal. Outside appearance of building - rather drab and boring.
Review 102:The massage session and the facilities. Healthy menu choices.
Review 103:The only downside would have to be that when entering the pool there were no free beds. There were people on 1/3 of the beds and the other 2/3 had towels placed on them which was quite annoying!
Review 104:My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay here! The spa facilities are fantastic, including the outdoor pool!
Review 105:Our towel rack in our room didn't work, our extractor fan didn't work, and a plug socket didn't work in our room.
Review 106:The pool and steam room area was fab didn't want to leave!
Review 107:The pool area is looking worn, tiles are falling away, it looked dirty. The pool which is supposed to be warm was quite cold and this stopped us from using the outdoor pool. We heard other guests complain about this also. The staff at the hotel are a mix of excellent and terrible. The service within the brasserie was very poor especially at breakfast. Long waits to be served and the continental option was limited. The staff didnt seem to know what they were doing.
Review 108:The spa is the main reason you would visit this hotel. The facilities are still good and its a great place to visit if you want to relax. The rooms are nice and comfortable,
Review 109:Polite friendly staff that went the extra mile. Superb quality hotel. Great facilities. Made the girlfriends weekend extra special. Highly recommend this place
Review 110:Location not so good but the spa more than makes up for it inside
Review 111:The spa facilities and the lovely relaxing warm pool The staff - so friendly and helpful Lovely comfy bed - had a really lovely sleep clean and comfy room Oasis of tranquility once inside
Review 112:The comfort of the beds The lack of choice of vegetarian options available.
Review 113:The indoor/outdoor pool The Food quality The treatments available and priced well
Review 114:The towel rail did not work so called reception, they said there was a technical problem that affected all rooms,i asked to speak to the manager,he came to my room and fitted a fuse in the switch, there was not one in there and probably this is the same for all rooms.Light bulbs blown in room, safe in an unsatisfactory position and very difficult on your knees trying to set it in the gloom.Kettle was dirty so they changed it but had to ask,
Review 115:Spa
Review 116:the noise of the extractor fan in the bathroom which ran most of time we where in the room, even after telling staff after the first night.
Review 117:comfort of bed . good location
Review 118:Location - I know the Malvern has been built there to be near the bore hole, but it's in a retail park with a lot of warehouse construction going on!!!
Review 119:Swimming at night outside in a wonderfully warm hydrotherapy pool - magical!
Review 120:No nice bar no table cloths all the seats were wet when we sat down . Tables in bistro sticky . Carpets marks on them in the room and in the landing . Tap fell of and water dint go away in the sink .
Review 121:Food bed
Review 122:Steam room wasn't working for 2 out of the 3 days due to a 'deep clean'. No sign of any work being done, bad timing for a Friday and Saturday.
Review 123:As ever the staff were friendly and helpful. Room comfortable, clean and quiet. Good food. Spa divine. The outside pool area is particularly wonderful. Maybe a mural could be painted on the outside pool walls...?
Review 124:Located in a business park, and not the prettiest building...glad theinside was so much better! The menu only changes every six weeks, so ifyou are there for a few days, you may run out of choices, and be lookingto eat out at one of the good local pubs.
Review 125:The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious andclean. We could get lost in the huge and comfy bed. The food in therestaurant was well cooked and presented, well worth the aa rosette, andagain, the team were super! Nicely located for exploring the area.
Review 126:The room was located over a generator of some sort that was constant throughout the night, as an ex serviceman currently receiving treatment for PTSD I can honestly say the noise was like a form of torture.
Review 127:The gym and spa facilities are very good. The young lady on the reception when we arrived was excellent, friendly and most helpful.
Review 128:"Elephants" in the room above! but hardly the hotels fault.
Review 129:Staff are always nice and very obliging, spa facilities are first class particularly the Saunas, tea tray is very welcoming, and Malvern Water a nice touch. Close to shopping and a lovely pub, the Swan is nearby and has brilliant food.
Review 130:We visited for a wedding so didn't use the spa at all on the Saturday, yet we we're told we couldn't use the spa from 11 on Sunday! We questioned this saying that we'd paid for at least some spa use but the member of staff snapped at us and wasn't budging. The spa was empty and was very stressful for a spa!
Review 131:(See below comment) luckily I approached one of the younger members of the team and questioned this who was happy to offer a 12 noon checkout instead of 11, offering an extra hour. Very helpful. But staff we're inconsistent. Good breakfast too.
Review 132:The wifi strength is poor, but hey, this place is about health and relaxation so put your phone down and float on the bubbles in the malvern spring water filled outdoor heated hydrotherapy pool
Review 133:The relaxation is beyond bliss
Review 134:Bar area and restaurant were very limited in space and seating area.Sound proofing between the floors would eliminate the noise from the people on the above floor, very noisy when people walking around.
Review 135:The facilities at the hotel were very good, the spa and the gym were excellent. Rooms were clean and tidy but the furniture where the fridge use to be needs to be updated, big holes left in the wardrobe and fittings.
Review 136:The location of the hotel is certainly not very picturesque. Being very conscious of health issues, I was not happy to be sleeping and in a therapy pool so close to a high voltage power line. We were disappointed in the value for money of the dinner in the restaurant.
Review 137:The accommodation, pool, saunas, therapies, etc. etc. were marvellous. Malvern offers super opportunities for lovely walks nearby. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Review 138:The room interior didn't seem to reflect the up-market spa facilities. The shower was dirty, the duvet had marks on it as did the matress protecter. Other than that a brilliant place to relax and chill out and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and being spoilt!
Review 139:Fantastic treatments in the spa, great spa facilities, restaraunt was brilliant food great and cleanliness in the restaraunt very good.
Review 140:asked for fresh milk as advertised and did not receive it. were ignored in the brasserie for long time as staff preferred serving SPA guests with drinks. No complimentary bread roll as advertised. Royalty card was not offered automatically when checked in and out.
Review 141:SPA treatments, food, room, the additional bottled water in the room.
Review 142:The spa area is tired and a need to request some of the hydrotherapy stations to be activated was irritating. The corridor on the first floor smelt unpleasant and some of the basic amenities had been forgotten. Elemis products used in the spa, but some really inferior brand of products placed in the room .
Review 143:Brasserie staff extremely helpful and friendly. Novelty of different hydro experiences was enjoyed too!
Review 144:Just about everything. it is not a hotel. It is a gym cum spa with smelly worn out facilities pool overcrowded and tiny. Spa treatments need to be booked well in advance. Very disappointing.
Review 145:Staff friendliness and welcome
