Reviews for Tudor Lodge Hotel

Review 1:Although decor was a bit tired I thought well worth the price for the nights stay. Thanksyou.

Review 2:Beautiful Period building, quirky Very good breakfast and friendly staff. So good I booked to stay two nights the following week. Comfortable CLEAN bed and had a bath which I prefer.

Review 3:Poor reception, manner and attitude of the female receptionist upon my arrival. Although I had booked a single room for one night using booking.com, the hotel had no records of my booking!!!! The receptionist was unhelpful to begin with as she was 'out of her depth' in my opinion and did not offer an explanation of the error! I was very anxious at this time due to it being late in the evening, a dark and wet evening, and I was feeling tired and hungry after a busy day. A very friendly collection of army service personnel arrived at the hotel minutes after my arrival, and I was very conscious that the receptionist was failing to deal with my booking arrangements and reservation. After around 15 minutes, I kindly asked if a single room was available, and a double room was made available at a higher rate per night. Due to the lateness in the day and a little bit of exhaustion after trying to explain to the receptionist my predicament, I took the room and stayed the night!

Review 4:Centrally located to my professional work.

Review 5:The car park needs a good clean up around the areas of rooms 26-31 as all the mud goes through from the car park onto the carpet in the rooms especially when it rains. Also more door mats needed at the front doors.

Review 6:The staff were all excellent and very helpful with whatever we needed and have a very good team spirit. The breakfast was also very good and we have stayed in this hotel many times and always enjoy it with an excellent location to get to London and for the M4/40. Our stay was 10 nights this time as we visit from Australia.

Review 7:No value for money bitten by bed bugs and room smells wast value for money I feel I should ask for a refund. Staff wasn't pleasant and don't think I would stay there again

Review 8:The location of where it is

Review 9:Front desk not very welcoming girl and big man not keen to welcome you and have conversation first impressions can make or break any business

Review 10:Rooms comfy curtains not clean Good breakfast

Review 11:The bed in the first room we had (in the main building) wasn't comfortable but the staff were pleasant and did move us to a newer room for the second night.

Review 12:I grew up in the area and always admired the look of the Tudor Lodge. The walk to the tube in Eastcote through the shops is quite manageable, it's on the 282 bus route (which is frequent) and has free parking. The full english breakfast buffet was included and the new rooms in the annex are nicely appointed.

Review 13:Inspite of having the window open the room was very hot. The lighting was poor especially in the bathroom. There were many dirty finger marks on bathroom door paintwork.

Review 14:I liked the breakfast. Polite staff. Position of Hotel. It was reasonably quiet.Good hot shower. Good white linen on beds.

Review 15:Bathroom floor full of water, was corrected immediately, chipped woodwork on wardrobes, cooked breakfast cold and when we complained, waiter ran off and hid, wasn't seen again , staff dressed very scruffily and barely understood English . We have stayed many times before, this is the last time

Review 16:A group of us stayed the night for a concert at Wembley, The Tudor Lodge is perfectly placed for the underground and easy access to Wembley, We booked 4 rooms for 7 people and there were no complaints, breakfast was lovely beds were comfy.. It is a very very old building and maybe could do with a lick of paint here or there, but all in all a very pleasant stay.

Review 17:Despite having a restaurant they did not serve evening meals which is not apparent from the advertising. The bed was awful, I may as well removed the mattress and slept on the base for all the support it gave. Also the water system in the hotel sounded like a Boeing 747 coming in to land. This was not only in my room but seemed everytime someone in the hotel used the water system. As such I didn't get much sleep. I found the staff to be surly and the night porter was blunt to the point of rudeness!

Review 18:It happened to be close to where I was working!

Review 19:Bedroom was tired, badly furnished and in need of an upgrade Shower was dirty [ not just grubby]

Review 20:Excellent breakfast Good standard public areas Helpful staff

Review 21:Hotel reception feels a bit Fawlty Towers. Bar area not v welcoming

Review 22:Clean spacious room. Very quiet. Lovely Romanian young man very courteous at breakfast, which was excellent

Review 23:Given that this was an upgrade on the original room we were disappointed. The room was tired (hole in duvet cover, cobwebs hanging in every corner, TV did not work properly) and the bathroom was smelly and dank.

Review 24:Good breakfast and comfy bed.

Review 25:The mattress was in poor condition when I sat on the edge to get into bed I nearly fell off as the mattress had no spring left to it so fell flat. The lever for the plug on the sink was broken also.

Review 26:The location is great for what we needed

Review 27:The room had ripped curtains and a shower that only produced scolding hot water, we had to use the suite downstairs that was empty but were not offered a room change.

Review 28:Location was good for what we wanted

Review 29:the room was very tiny, even for a solo booking the toilet was very noisy and smelt, which came into the room continious banging noise all night which kept me awake

Review 30:The location was close to the tube station. Good breakfast

Review 31:The family room was dirty, dated, the kitchen under stocked and totally over priced.

Review 32:The reception staff were helpful and the breakfast was good with a lot if choice.

Review 33:I booked a single room and was given one for the handicapped. No bed side lights (although a lamp was supplied on request). The bathroom had a small shower for the handicapped, in which there was no space whatsoever, and very small, low basin which was really too small to use.

Review 34:1.Breakfast. 2.Comfortable bed.

Review 35:Rooms are badly in need of redecoration and a good clean. Grouting around shower mouldy and shower mat filthy. Looks like it has never been cleaned. The first room we were allocated was tiny with a filthy, torn net curtain on the window, We were changed to another room which was a lot bigger but was still not clean and dirty bathroom.

Review 36:Breakfast was excellent.

Review 37:No mobile reception in room Expensive wi fi for rooms Therefore not so covenient for business work.

Review 38:Room (double delux) a good size and clean Good breakfast Polite staff

Review 39:The breakfast could do with an uplift! The cooked breakfast was almost inedible!

Review 40:I wasn't happy with my room as it involved awkward stairs which being disabled I would have found difficult. My room was changed immediately. Overall the staff were friendly and efficient.

Review 41:Breakfast was cold on our first day But lovely the second day . Our room was very small And the shower had lots of mould in it

Review 42:The staff are very nice and friendly

Review 43:The bathroom was dirty, towels had stains and there were hairs all in the shower. Bed was rock hard due to thin mattress. Breakfast in the morning was mostly very good but the sausages were rock hard an inedible.

Review 44:Good location for my needs

Review 45:We were not informed in advance that evening meals would not be available due to a function being held in the restaurant area. As we are disabled this incurred a taxi ride to find a restarant.

Review 46:Cleanliness & helpful staff

Review 47:Not informed of booked function which denied access for food etc. Rooms was very average. Seems to be looking for money rather than satisfying guests. Everything from a phone call to internet costs more.

Review 48:The bed was comfortable and breakfast enjoyable.

Review 49:Windows and nets in room were dirty making the room darker than need be and the shower was a bit rubbish.

Review 50:Friendly staff, good breakfast, relaxed atmosphere

Review 51:Room was looking rather dated and needed a bit of tlc. The bed was beginning to show signs of age. The hotel information booklet was out of date. There is no restaurant and where were the lovely grounds? The kitchen could have been better equipped with toaster and a few more knives and forks.

Review 52:Room was spacious with sofa and two chairs, desk, wifi , tv etc . Also had kitchen facilities , which given there was no restaurant could have been useful. Plenty of tea and coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Superb breakfast, good quality, well cooked and lots of variety. Staff were very efficient.

Review 53:Room was little more than a bed sit. Tv would decide to switch off after 2-3 mins repeatedly. Very little natural light no catering in the evening - it advertises as a hotel not as a bed and breakfast which would be closer to the mark. And the piece de resistance - lying down on a bed with the waft of an "unclean" carpet assailing my nostrils.

Review 54:To be brutally honest, checking out (even with a financial penalty).

Review 55:Very helpful, friendly and polite staff - absolutely fantastic! Very close to the tube station for accessing central London. Free parking on site. Breakfast was help yourself and was great - couldn't have asked for anything better. The staff went out of their way to help us during our visit and nothing was too much trouble. Location is great in terms of the pubs / shops nearby and road links. Room as clean and well looked after. Great price for what you get.

Review 56:The hotel is mainly staffed by Eastern Europeans and South East Asians, the latter were extremely helpful no so the former and quite surly

Review 57:The staff on arrival were pleasant, and helpful

Review 58:Looking at the rooms on line you may be in for shock when you see your room, we were ! Modern - no, large - no, smart - no, comfy - average. No bath. Shower a but grubby but powerful. Decoration very poor and run down, fittings in the room - poor, all a bit shabby, corridors and flooring very worn and in desperate need of replacing. If you get a good deal on the price then it's ok for a night and a good breakfast,it 's on a busy road and no double glazing in our room. Do not be under any illusion its not the Ritz !!

Review 59:Location, price paid and breakfast.

Review 60:we stayed in room 5 which was small but comfortable however as it was above bar/breakfast you could hear every noise voices and breakfast set up would stay again but not in this room

Review 61:friendly staff nice and clean

Review 62:Single room was very small and the was little pricy. I could have got better size room at the price I was charged without breakfast. The fan extractor in the bathroom did not work. Very disappointed!

Review 63:Mainly the rules on not being able to cancel the room when it was not required for the second of two nights. The equipment - ie hair drier was dangerous it got very hot and started to smoke, as if it was going to set alight. The shower head was falling apart from the lead and didn;t stay put in the holder.

Review 64:Breakfast was good

Review 65:breakfast doesn't start until 07.00- would prefer option of 06.30 to allow travelling for work and avoid local traffic buildup accessing A40

Review 66:Free parking. Comfortable environment. Friendly staff.

Review 67:Have to be free wifi

Review 68:I like about service everything but the wifi should be free coz every hotel have free wifi Another thing the mobile no have device there at all

Review 69:Finding a hair in my 'clean' bed. U bend inside toilet was black, toilet seat did not fit properly. Curtains filthy dirty and net curtain actually split the whole length and grey in colour with dirt. Lots of dust. Noise in middle of night which woke me. Not much customer service.

Review 70:The breakfast

Review 71:Breakfast not good sour milk was served & although it was replaced no body replaced the cutlery & we had to take fresh from another table

Review 72:Rooms good & clean Room entry system good

Review 73:Had the Tudor suite, curtains have to stay closed because car park is directly outside and no voiles at windows. Room was cold on arrival. Lights flickered, lamp didn't work. Very expensive for service and standard of facility.

Review 74:Was put in room 16 or 17 upstairs. More like staff accommodation- old, dreary and cramped!was originally given room 1, but it was still left dirty from day before with no clean sheets!

Review 75:Location Breakfast room

Review 76:Room was very small and cramped, The shower and the toilet was dirty. The towel rail was missing. The light over the sink didn't work. We had to ask for more coat hangers-only 3 supplied.

Review 77:The location. The breakfast was good.

Review 78:The bathroom door stuck and had to be closed with a bang, and the bathroom rail was broken. The member of staff I spoke to on Reception was not very proactive in giving out information as to where I could go to eat. To be told "The High Street" is not at all helpful when you do not know the area, or even in which direction the High Street was.

Review 79:The bed was comfortable.

Review 80:The heating system is fairly primitive and wasn't working properly when we arrived. I had to get rid of a big(gish) spider on the ceiling that was freaking out my girlfriend and the sound insulation from the room above is non existent. Where therefore had our sleep disrupted from about 5:30am when the guest above got up and started moving around etc. Also, the large bed was just two single beds pushed together. Staying in the room as a couple, this is something I really object to as it makes the middle of the bed too uncomfortable. Double rooms should have double beds, full stop.

Review 81:The Executive Double is spacious and equipped also with a kitchen area, although we didn't make use of this. The room is set back from the road so quite quiet, but still conveniently located for getting around. Breakfast was good.

Review 82:Didn't like the size of the single beds. Should be a bigger 'single'. Walkway to annex should be covered in some way, exposed to the elements.

Review 83:Helpful staff. Quiet hotel. Decent breakfast.

Review 84:Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast was fantastic. This was our 3rd or 4th time back to this hotel and every time we've stayed it's been great.

Review 85:When we arrived some Asian men were brick laying a wall. The area was very messy and they had a radio blaring out Bhangra music. It was very off putting and they had trailing cables. Also the bathroom in room 40 had an unpleasant smell as though someone had smoked in there.

Review 86:The staff were lovely. The room was quite nice with comfy bed.

Review 87:There was no protective mattresses on bed and no pillow protectors

Review 88:The hotel had a lot of atmosphere. Lovely old beams etc. Required some tender loving care. Could be amazing!

Review 89:The furnishings and decor were quite drab and outdated. There was no plug for the bath and no towel rail. There was plenty of food available at the breakfast buffet but it wasn't hot.

Review 90:The location was ideal for my trip to Pinner.

Review 91:The room was quite run down for a deluxe with very poor ventilation, light and no working bedside lights. The outside space was untidy.

Review 92:The breakfasts provided where excellent and staff helpful and friendly. The conservatory area for eating was light and airy.

Review 93:Location was great and nothing toco plain about with the hotel. Room was clean and well equipped. Near to tube. Breakfast was good but maybe a bit slow.

Review 94:one couple needed to change rooms as shower broken then bed in new room not very comfortable

Review 95:friendly and helpful staff nice garden and delicious breakfast

Review 96:location to ruislip crematorium. sad reason for visit on this occassion.very suprised at standard of comfort as i am 75 years old and stayed at many hotels. very well organized. very supriised on enquiring that it was english manager. well done. it appeared on the single night stay that the hotel wasw making the best of what was availiable to be done.

Review 97:Room, very poor. Dusty, Window curtain very dirty (Black with grime). On-suite, Shower tap broken, shower head attachment broken, Extractor fan didn't work. Bed, mattress was very uncomfortable.

Review 98:Restaurant wasn't functioning, and that was one of the reasons for choosing this particular hotel. Net curtains needed washing, and some holes in the bed linen. £7.95 for the Internet connection for just one day.

Review 99:The overall aspect in the bedroom was one of cleanliness despite what I have said on the negative side. Kettle etc + biscuits in the bedroom.

Review 100:Staff were not particularly welcoming on arrival and we felt it was a bit of a cheek to have to pay an additional £10 on top of the room fees for a travel cot per night.

Review 101:Great breakfast. Clean and reasonably acceptable room well stocked with hair dryer and iron.

Review 102:Could not have a bath because there was not any plug and there was no bedside light

Review 103:The hotel was central for our needs and the breakfast were very pleasant

Review 104:OUR ROOM WHICH,AS WELL AS COMFORTABLE BEDS AND VERY DECENT BATHROOM ,PROVIDED US WITH A FRIDGE A SINK AND LOTS OF LOVELY TEAS,COFFEES,HOT CHOCOLATE AND BISCUITS.BREAKFAST WAS LOVELY AND THE STAFF KIND,CONSIDERATE AND HELPFUL..A LOVELY HOTEL IN A LOVELY LOCATION.

Review 105:The hotel was described as being 'tastefully renovated' - I would describe it as tacky, not suitable for a 500 year old historic building. Looks cheap and nasty

Review 106:Friendly staff and comfortable bed, thank you

Review 107:Very run down with builders debris everywhere. Room very outdated with a tiny smelly bathroom. Lots of noise from the busy road outside.

Review 108:Breakfast was good.

Review 109:WiFi was poor, had to go to rear of dining room / bar. Tis day and age it is unacceptable to not have free WiFi available in all rooms. Breakfast service should maybe start earlier, we had to leave before service :-)

Review 110:Location is perfect for attending events in London. There are also good facilities close by for food and drink.

Review 111:Due to my long day i didn't complain. I just wanted to sleep. My room was small, unclean and drab. The shower was so uninviting that I didn't use it. Thinking about it more I think I was staying in a cupboard.

Review 112:The break and the staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful.

Review 113:The en suite shower cubicle was dirty! Crusted dirt in corners of tray where door is. Floor of tray dirty. Tiles look tired. Room fityings-I.e. Case support, lights etc. Needed dusting. No de caffeinated tea in room or restaurant, so had to supply my own. Grades of other read available, so why not de caff? Staff indifferent on reception-no smiles, no greeting when coming down in the morning-bland. Check out person was chatty and more pleasant.

Review 114:Offered porterage of my baggage to my room. Waitress at breakfast cheerful And accommodating. Working alone so quite an achievement for her. Very helpful indeed to everyone. Bed very comfortable-had a good nights sleep. Plenty of milk pots and lively big mugs for drinks in the bedroom. Breakfast inclusive of the price-very unusual and a welcome change.

Review 115:I booked a Double Deluxe room on Booking.com where I must say the reviews were good. I got there around 2:20 PM and was given room number 40. I got to the room and found that the room was not ready and the cleaning lady was still working. I waited about 10 minutes. Then I was shocked when I entered the room. It was a room for the disabled with the bathroom fitted for a disabled person with railings, toilet without a back, ramp into the shower, sweat (stained), sink the height of my knee and small. The room itself had a bad smell of urine coming from the carpets. I immediately went to reception where there sat Ms Ilona Miranda who said to me clearly that if I am not happy I can leave the hotel without having to pay. I asked her if there was another room that was vacant and the answer was: "we are fully booked". This may have been the case but at 3pm I am pretty sure that not all had checked in. I asked her if the manager was available and here answer was that there was nobody on site and if I want to communicate with the manager I can send her an email or wait for the morning which is what I tried to do. Later that evening I wanted to take a shower and when going into the bathroom felt a sudden stab in my foot and what I found is that there were carpet nails sticking out of the carpet (see picture). The next morning at breakfast I asked to speak to the manager and the same lovely receptionist said that the manager was in the kitchen and will be available only at 10 am. Besides all the above, this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and does not even have a/c in the rooms. I highly recommend that you do not pick this hotel as they do not understand what their business is all about.

Review 116:Nothing

Review 117:Not really a bad experience, but I do like rooms to be clean - everywhere. Our bed was pushed up against a window, and I happened to look in at the window, and there was dust and dirt everywhere, on the windowsill. The hotel is having alterations, and there is a lot of dust and debris everywhere outside, but for such an excellent room, I would have liked this to have been cleaned

Review 118:I was travelling with my 15 year old daughter to see an Ed Sheeran concert at Wembley, so we were lucky to get our room, as the area was very booked up. We could only get the Honeymoon Suite, which we thought was very funny! but the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom huge!!

Review 119:Staff not very clued up, either on reception, dining room or bar. Customer service not switched on at all. Hotel generally needs to put more effort in but it has the feel of a place wanting to step up.

Review 120:Close to Eastcote, where we wanted to be. Lots of work taking place so obviously improvements to the property are underway. Breakfast was the best aspect, trying hard to offer a good variety of food. Lovely fresh fruit salad.

Review 121:When we got there I had to stop a fight between a group of workers and some one of the street as he went to hit the man with a spad not nice

Review 122:Going to Wembley

Review 123:Rooms need a bit of upkeep, something spilled down the wall under the desk which hadn't been cleaned up, broken rail in the bathroom, very old fashioned 80's light in the main room, cheap looking furniture spoiled a room with loads of potential

Review 124:Traditional beams in the rooms (we had number 4) were lovely, location was great

Review 125:When we arrived there was building work going on however this did not affect out stay too much. Rooms are in need of air conditioning as they get very hot and beds are very uncomfortable. The room we were given must have been situated next to a generator as it was constantly noisy throughout the night. Breakfast a little too early for my liking espevially for a weekend despite being advertised at a different time. Wifi only available in reception not in the rooms.

Review 126:Fantastic location, very convenient to travel to other parts of London. Rooms were well kept. Attractive hotel with nice eating and bar area, very clean overall.

Review 127:Cobwebs. The exterior is being done up. The interior needs an overhaul. At the very least the net curtains need a wash.

Review 128:Convenient for my requirements.

Review 129:Everything was to a very good standard so there's nothing I can say that I disliked.

Review 130:Rooms and Breakfast were excellent and they allowed me to keep my car at the hotel whilst I travelled into London for the day. Reception Staff were very pleasant - would highly recommend!

Review 131:Everything!!! I asked for a hotel close to Watford it was a £60 round trip to get there and back. When I arrived the hotel was covered in scaffolding, filthy, poor staff (had to 'look' for ice at the bar), no restaurant despite a menu in room - I had to order a takeaway! , no curtain up at bathroom window which led into working builders- I had to put a towel up!!!

Review 132:Nothing!!!

Review 133:There is no air-con, it was a hot weekend, we bought a fan from the local shop!

Review 134:Excellent location for Wembley stadium. Not far from Eascote picadilly line, 7 minute walk. Friendly staff, lovely building, room was basic, very clean, tea, coffee, tv, free wi-fi. all you need for a weekend away. Breakfast is buffet style, very good choice. Excellent value for money..

Review 135:No bad experience, the room had a dead spider in the corner of the room but maybe this was just missed by the cleaners.

Review 136:The staff were friendly and the bed was huge and really comfy.

Review 137:Parking was a bit tight.

Review 138:The location was great, easy to commute to centre of London with good access to shops. Hotel room was a good size, it was clean and the beds were comfy.

Review 139:Too warm in the rooms at night. The use of a fan would have been great, although the weather was extremely hot.

Review 140:Great access to the tube, friendly staff. Clean rooms. Plenty of local shops.

The Fine Print
