Reviews for Hotel Mexico

Review 1:all perfect - ideal Hotel from value for money and quality of service perspective. Special thanks for the quality of Wifi - best during our trip to Spain.

Review 2:Air condition was not working. I was told it was not the pick of the season and it is turned off, even though outside was about 30 degrees Celsius.

Review 3:View on the river was great.

Review 4:Guest WiFi drops out from time to time but Internet speed is good once connected.

Review 5:My return stay in Hotel Mexico was even better then my first visit a year ago. The adjacent high speed train station (Urzáiz) is now fully open and just a few minutes walk to trains that reach Santiago in under an hour. Staff are polite and helpful, and the breakfast offers a good choice. Value for money remains excellent; this will be my first choice of Hotel should I need to stay in Vigo again.

Review 6:the AC was faulty, and the room instead of being warm was freezen. It was not good because it was cold outisde and we were expecting to have a warm room which didn't happen... appart from this point, all good!!

Review 7:When someone knock at the next door, I always thought it was our room. It would be better if the hotel could improve the soundproof.

Review 8:Very close to the train station. The room that has the sea view is really nice but ours is just ok. The beds are wide and really comfortable.

Review 9:Room was realy small, view was awful: on the inner cloister and big air-vent stack. Also it was a strange and upleasant smell from the bathroom. Wifi connection was weak.

Review 10:Main competitive advantage of that hotel was its price. Good location. Extremely close to railway station Vigo Urzaiz (but be careful, most of trains arrives on other station: Vigo Guixar). Several coffees nearby. 15 miutes to walk to the city center.

Review 11:Nothing to complain about.

Review 12:The girls at the reception are very friendly and helpful. Patricia helped us by booking Cies Islas tour from Baiana when all tours from Vigo were booked. Good suggestions for restaurants.

Review 13:The outside noise level from the hall, other rooms and even a little from the outside. They should have used better doors that were more soundproof. Also, the garage is quite tight and the spaces are small, so if full, then it is a bit of a challenge.

Review 14:The staff were very friendly and accommodating! They gave very good recommendations for places to see and eat. Breakfast was quite good. It was close enough to the center of Vigo to be able to walk, but at the same time easy to get to by car. The room was quite big, newly renovated and the beds were good.

Review 15:The location is opposite to the railway station. we can see it at the station, but we need to go a big round because no direct road to it.

Review 16:Good staff. There is something wrong of the electricity source in the room which we first live in and the staff quickly change the room for us.

Review 17:Shower has curtain and with tiled shower tray with ledge (be careful not to bang toe off it) - water all over the place afterwards. Had to request shampoo at reception. Wifi is extremely slow. Breakfast is poor however it did only cost €6.

Review 18:Location reasonably close to centre with a lot of 1 way streets in the area.

Review 19:After choosing the Mexico because of its proximity to the central station, we discovered all trains were diverting to Vigo Guixar due to renovation works. This wasn't a problem however, as the other station was only 20 minutes walk away, and the bus stop is also close by.

Review 20:All the hotel staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful, especially Diana on the reception desk, who cheerfully resolved a mistake on the invoice. Breakfast buffet was of a high standard, the accommodation and food was really good value. Our twin room on 2nd floor had everything we needed fridge, aircon etc and it all worked. I felt very welcome here, and would be very happy to stay again.

Review 21:The only thing we did not like was the fact that there was no 24 hours open bar or restaurant in the hotel. But everything else was really nice. The room was incredible, the view too. Clean, bright and quiet. We are happy we staid at hotel mexico in vigo.

Review 22:I should have been more cautious when we were asked to pay before seeing the rooms. We had booked economy single rooms but they were below an acceptable standard and very small. I requested non-smoking rooms but mine reeked of smoke. The shower was tiny with nowhere to put my toiletries. The rooms looked into a bleak void at the back of the hotel.

Review 23:The staff were pleasant. The garage was convenient.

Review 24:Telephone wasn't working, cleaning was poor, has water on the aisle coming from the roof and the window view is terrible. We will never come back to this hotel.

Review 25:Beds are confortable

Review 26:Booking.com says the room is near to the station....it is not,the station is under expansion so it is misleading & confusing.:( as a temporary station is being used and it affected our budget as we needed to use taxis often.

Review 27:BIG,comfortable room with lovely views over the sea & harbour,Helpful staff.

Review 28:Hotel was booked as it states it's 0.3km from the train station. This is NOT the case. Over 1 mile up hill.

Review 29:The hotel was good value for money. Friendly, helpful staff. Didn't not eat in hotel so cannot make any comment.

Review 30:nice room with great view over the city

Review 31:Air conditioned not working. Room too hot.

Review 32:The room in overall. The breakfast was reasonable.

Review 33:Bed very hard!! Aching back next day.

Review 34:Location and parking

Review 35:Rooms were very clean Staff were very friendly

Review 36:The hotel had a restaurant and a bar.

Review 37:A bit far from the beach.

Review 38:Big spacious room with view. Refrigerator, comfy beds, close to transportation and shopping district.

Review 39:Safe parking, nice Hotel, helpful stuff, good breakfast

Review 40:nope

Review 41:Location is good. Price is perfect. Big room, decent toilet.

Review 42:Very friendly staff, not far from train station and shops, rooms are very big and clean

Review 43:The price is high for the Hotel.

Review 44:The location and the staff were good.

Review 45:Directions were from the old station which is just opposite. New temporary station is at least 20 min walk uphill!

Review 46:Hotel was excellent all round.

Review 47:Bar closed very early.

Review 48:Very comfortable stay, good mattress and pillows. Fabulous views. Location and parking good. Very quiet at night.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Good view from room 10 minute walk to city centre Good sized room

Review 51:Room without a view :(

Review 52:Nice staff, great location, the city is easily the nicest one in the Atlantic Europe.

Review 53:We have nothing to point out.

Review 54:We liked the service and the view was gorgeous. It is well located around 15 mins walking to the city center.

Review 55:There was no internet in the room, only at reception.

Review 56:The place was really nice, clean and it has all you need in 3* hotel. Great place as a start for walking to mail shopping street and old part of Vigo.

Review 57:I thought the room was clean, but i thought the carpet was very dirty and that not very higenic when you have kid

Review 58:I thought the hotel was very friendly.food was good. The hotel was in a very good location and i think i would come here again

Review 59:Nothing really!

Review 60:Efficient and friendly hotel. Clean and well equipped for price. Convenient for walking to the shopping area and old town of Vigo and the harbour area

Review 61:The lifts were very slow, the air conditioner was not very powerful, on the Booking page it said that the parking is 9 euros, but it was actually 10 euros. The entrance and public spaces are very nice, but the rooms could be modernized a bit.

Review 62:The breakfast buffet was good

Review 63:The wifi is a trash. They say the rooms have wifi but they lie. I askedabout this service and anybody could answer me. In fact, I payed toreceive this service and I didn't receive. Many people with the sametrouble. It's a shame.

Review 64:It's a good hotel.Very good place. Good room and a fantastic view ofVigo's ria. Was my fourth time in this hotel.

Review 65:It was clean and on the same level as a British Holiday Inn Hotel, without the bedroom tea making facilities. I would not hessitate to recomment or use this hotel again for an overnight stay.

Review 66:The light and airy reception with beautiful views over the harbour

Review 67:The train station is being rebuilt at the moment, which means 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel.

Review 68:Everything was good!

Review 69:Bad room

Review 70:Location
