Reviews for Garden Hotel

Review 1:The hotel is not big but beautiful and warm.I like the decoration in green colour and each room has the name such as "tulipe" "l'amour en cage"etc.the location is also good, just the opposite side of emile zola high school.I can walk direct from the train station and walk direct to the centre-ville.moreover,the breakfast is sooo delicious. I like le gateau breton.the receptionist is also kind.

Review 2:Can't think of anything I didn't like.

Review 3:Nice staff, convenient location halfway between the train station and the pedestrian / shopping areas of the old city, and lovely, clean and comfortable rooms personalised with flower names.

Review 4:Good location, it's in a quiet neighborhood. Very easy to find, the staff is very nice and friendly. He also printed the information for us and helped us with our trip arrangement. Deserve a stay here

Review 5:The Guy in reception :( Grumpy ! The free wifi would not work and he would not give out code of the other one . The heating would have been no harm in the evening.

Review 6:Lady in reception

Review 7:The shower in room 107 is old and rather dirty. It badly needs a renovation.

Review 8:Due to the works for a new metroline and station 50 m from the hotel, it is awfully noisy. However the isolation in the room is perfect, you don't hear a thing.

Review 9:It is important to organise parking although parking in the nearby streets is possible it requires topping up during the day.

Review 10:This is a fantastic friendly, cheap hotel.

Review 11:One member of staff was rude to me over a door being kept open. Although the Hotel was clean and tidy it was quite basic...may have been choice of room. I wish I paid more and got different room.

Review 12:The room was clean,modern.

Review 13:Comfortable beds but a bit too small (length).

Review 14:10 minutes on foot from the station and the historical centre. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly staff (and available 24h/24).

Review 15:We noticed some beard hair in the sink. Some dust around. There's a lift but you are obliged to climb some steps as well.

Review 16:Kind staff, excellent position within walking distance of the historic center, very good breakfast!

Review 17:No real issues to mention for the price but in time some of the finishes and fittings could do with renewing.

Review 18:The staff were friendly and made a for a particularly convivial breakfast. The rooms were clean.

Review 19:Easy to arrive to the hotel from the station, really closed to the center (5 minuts walk), the room was cleaned and the staff very kind. WiFi, flat TV, hair dryer (in a drawer) and tea in my room. The little garden with tables just outside the room was great. Don't expect a 5*, but is really good solution to visit the city.

Review 20:We had a very and smell in our bathroom. We told staff about it and was good at.

Review 21:Good easy check in. Very special staff great help. Nothing was a problem helped us very well

Review 22:Not a bad experience but one night was noisy-bar a few doors away seemed to be busy till early am.

Review 23:Personal,friendly service;delicious breakfast with local/home-made bread and madame's jams; lovely patio though weather not quite warm enough for us to use;

Review 24:Nothing really-All very good

Review 25:The location of the hotel was great. The family room was in fact 2 interconnecting rooms - bathrooms were brand new. The garden was lovely for late at night and for breakfast. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Incredible value!

Review 26:Shower not very good.

Review 27:Staff is really nice and friendly; Room is big and clean; the hotel is close to the train station, that is very convenience for trip; the breakfast is great, you can try make Crêpe by yourself that interesting.

Review 28:Poor ventilation,Noisy neighbours,Permanently flashing lights throughout the night in building opposite.Car parking insecure

Review 29:Attitude of Yaan in reception.Location .

Review 30:When I arrived late i was given a twin room instead of the double I had reserved, and because the single beds were very small, it was quite uncomfortable for my tall body the first night. I was given a double room from the second night. The first room I stayed in wasn't super clean (dust, crumbs, hairs were left behind), the second one was a lot better.

Review 31:Staff was very accommodating and welcoming. They let me use the wifi on the terrace for a few hours after checking out. The rooms were fairly small but are comfortable enough to stay for several days.

Review 32:Everything.

Review 33:Nothing. They tried to rectify a situation that was a mess anyway. No regard for a family with small children. I had to re commend a reasonable solution and even that was a desperate measure. They offered free breakfast that looked rubbish anyway for nine euro ahead. I got free parking out of them and a small room with four of us crammed into it and no discount. Miserable people. All about the money.

Review 34:no bad experience, but the space around the toilet is tiny, and there are steps between getting out the lift and the room which might be not as practical for carrying heavy suitcase. Also, certain time of the week has absence of staff and the hotel door is locked unless you have the access code to get in.

Review 35:right between the train station and the old town, conveniently located for both. very warm, friendly staff. charming outside terrasse.

Review 36:1. The location is great, ~10 minutes walk from the "Gare de Rennes", easy to find. 2. The staffs were very nice and helpful. 3. We left our luggage with them after checked out, continued our visit around the city and picked up before we headed back to the train station.

Review 37:I liked everything about this cute hotel. From the helpful and easy-going staff to the freshly refurbished bathroom and comfy bedroom. For a 2 star, it is very good value for money. Location is safe, quiet and at a short walking distance from everything. The balcony was a nice +. Enjoy a cuppa in the garden with a ray of sunshine and you won't want to leave that place.

Review 38:Very warm welcom at the reception. Stayed in two connected rooms. Bathroom facilities recently renovated. Rooms very clean with comfortable beds. Very tasty breakfast with local products like crepes. Excellent wifi connection.

Review 39:Staying in duplex family room on ground floor and basement is not good. Noise all night long from room next door - very disturbing. Wouldn't stay again because of this.

Review 40:Good location; helpful staff.

Review 41:The bathroom could be cleaner.

Review 42:It was within walking distance (with suitcase) of the train station, and was close to some really nice shops and restaurants. The sheets were clean and the staff were very friendly and upbeat.

Review 43:The bed was rather small. The room was clean, but could use some freshen up.

Review 44:Very friendly and helpful reception. Centrally situated. Nice garden (unfortunatly it was raining) and good breakfast.

Review 45:Our room door would not lock and we were told that it didn't matterbecause it was not crowded. No window...just a transom over the doorthat did not work. Room filthy...ran my hand on the furniture (whatlittle there was) and the dust was about 1 month old. Bathroombad....drains on sink and bowl did not work. The breakfast was ok andthe morning boy was nice. Also we got there at 3 pm and no one was thereuntil 6 pm???

Review 46:The area was good. Breakfast was included.

Review 47:Good location near or in centre ville. Friendly and helpful staff, who most of them speak english. Possible to get drinks and food. Nice little outside space/area with tables.

Review 48:Hand held shower in Bath which can be awkward ....breakfast is basic and overpriced but you're very close to loads of cafes etc ...only small things ...definitely worth a visit .

Review 49:Small and intimate with loads of french charm ...3 mins walk from the main area of rennes with some lovely very reasonable restaurants ..This is our 2 nd year returning to the garden hotel and we adore it ....ask for a garden room with the cutest patio outside your door ...so reasonably priced.staff are lovely too

Review 57:Lovely courtyard garden which was almost part of the room. Great breakfast. Easy to use parking

Review 58:The receptionist lady was very friendly. Room was clean and nice, there was a small selection of tea in the kitchenette.

Review 59:It was convenience for living and travel in Rennes and for the price, the hotel was such a good choice.

Review 60:It was a friendly, relaxing environment and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was conveniently situated to see the town centre.

Review 61:Clean, room and bathroom sizes are fine, near train station and down town.

Review 62:No WiFi.

Review 63:Fine location and comfortable at a good price.

Review 64:Bike friendly. Comfortably inner city French hotel. Welcoming staff.

Review 65:Polite staff, cute garden

Review 66:Couldn't access WiFi. Soft bed. Hotel closed on arrival (5pm). Not easy to find as street is intersected with another road.

Review 67:Quite central.

Review 68:staff for reception

Review 69:Old bathroom, thin walls, so we could hear the neighbours from upstairs who were stomping at 4 a.m.

Review 70:The court yard, breakfast, location

Review 71:I couldnt get wifi on phone however this could be to do with my phone!

Review 72:Location, staff; ease of access/booking

Review 73:The outside garden and the very friendly staff. The room was small but had everything we needed.

Review 74:A fan would be nice as it was hot.

Review 75:parking for motorcycle in garage

Review 76:Location:easy to find, closed to both station and high light spots. Staff:friendly and kind Room:very clean 、wi-fi,TV,pot

Review 77:It was fine - no problems Extra for parking

Review 78:Location

Review 79:A small, private hotel with comfortable rooms. We arrived late from a long train ride, and checked in with no problems. Breakfast was very good.

Review 80:neat and compact hotel. Modernised yet has the historic feeling.

Review 81:Ground floor room opening onto courtyard, quiet despite central position. Helpful staff suggested where to go for Sunday evening meal.

Review 82:Overall good

Review 83:Clean and good location

Review 84:Small breakfast for the money

Review 85:Great location Lovely courtyard Comfortable room and facilities

Review 86:Nothing at all

Review 87:Close location to city centre 24 hour access English speaking Beautiful garden/patio Really helpful staff

Review 88:Friendly staff, clean room, flexibility to store our bikes.

Review 89:Clean & comfortable "connected" rooms with friends next door & the staff was helpful & patient to attend our enquiries.

Review 90:No window in bedroom. Room cramped. No fixing for shower head. Tap on washbasin loose. Walk out of bedroom straight into people having breakfast. Dining room very cramped. Had to ask for jam, milk, spoons etc. Decor in bedroom very shabby.

Review 91:The TV was not good enough, too small, poor quality, poor reception, no international news channels and no film channels or cable channels.

Review 92:The welcome. The calm. The bedding.

Review 93:The soundproofing is not great. We heard all the street noise during the night (our room was on the street side).

Review 94:Good prices and near the city center.

Review 95:The room had a smoky smell to it and the bed and pillows very soft, may be fine for some.

Review 96:Location was good. Car parking available at a cost. OK for an overnight stay.

Review 97:The location was perfect for us right in the centre of the city with parking near by. It reminded us of the small hotels we had experienced in Paris over the years - always welcoming and comfortable even though rooms are small.

Review 98:Noise,not from inside hotel but outside. Incessant traffic noise from nearby main road throughout day and great deal of night. I would stay again if assured of a room at rear of hotel away from thoroughfare.

Review 99:Staff very helpful and friendly.Very pleasantly presented, always a smile and no problems with language.

Review 100:Location not very nice. Baby travel cot provided was very stained. Nocoffee or tea making facilities. Room very hot, although bed was clean &comfortable. No secure parking within east distance, but street outsidewas available. Quite expensive compared to other hotels of same starrate we stayed in !!

Review 101:We picked the Hotel to stay in on our way back home after visiting LesMachines de L'ille in Nantes & thought it would be a good budget onenight stayer. The girl on reception was very helpful, when our travelcot (pre-ordered) was not in the room !!

Review 102:Breakfast not good quality, bread not fresh (horrors, in France?) andexpensive. Just a little tatty - towels, for instance, were worn, couldn't shut window mechanism above door onto balcony.

Review 103:Very helpful friendly staff. Excellent location for both exploring theold quarter and getting to the bus terminus. Pleasant, quietsurroundings.

Review 104:There is not a fixed shower in the bathroom, but a hand held spray to use to shower whilst standing in the bathtub. Furniture and decor a little dated, but for the money paid I didn't expect anything luxurious.

Review 105:The Garden Hotel is in an ideal location about six minutes walk from the main railway station and only three to four minutes to the centre of the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful,. There was quite a pleasant outlook from the room. The bed was comfortable and there was a small desk in the room.

Review 106:It was overpriced in my opinion; for the same cost we could have stayedat a chain hotel and had a comfortable bed, a nicer room and breakfastincluded. As it was, we paid 70 euros for room only, the room itself wasunpleasant, the bed was uncomfortable, it was cold, and I would not staythere again.

Review 107:The location was ok.

Review 108:Spent the first night in a freezing room badly needing modernisation(overlooking central courtyard). Asked to relocate to room in main housethe next morning which was comfortable and fine.

Review 109:Friendly staff, great location.

Review 110:This was the second time we stayed here this year. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great.

Review 111:There is a faint smell of cigarettes.

Review 112:Friendly and quiet with quiet patio/garden, while still in city centre.

Review 113:Staff and location. Very friendly, and the room was clean. I had an interior room, and it was very quiet. I would stay there again.

Review 114:Centrally located, clean and value for money

Review 115:Staff was incredibly helpful and very knowledgable
