Reviews for The Pinewood Hotel
Review 1:It was freezing! The heating wasn't adequate and it was an overhead unit with a really noisy fan so I had to choose between sleep and warmth.
Review 2:The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel was quiet.
Review 3:executive rooms really arent executive no bathrobes available due to a wedding facilities reduced no fore warning given of this staff arguing with customers at reception
Review 4:pulled the shower curtain across and the curtain pole fell down, i fixed it myself, the shower water went from hot to freezing with no in between, the toaster in restaurant wasn't working right, also could hear the boiler alnight long.
Review 5:the towels were clean the bedding was clean
Review 6:I had a wheelchair wet room which was very wet, would have preferred a bathroom with a shower screen or curtain. I didn't ask but didn't get informed it was a wheelchair friendly room.
Review 7:Big flatscreen tv was very welcome. Very well soundproofed rooms. Christmas party celebrations did not prevent a good nights sleep.
Review 8:The waste paper basket in the room had not been emptied before my arrival.
Review 9:The hotel was very convenient for my meeting the next day in Slough. It is a quiet location near Langley Park.
Review 10:The Hotel staff at every level were excellent. I would particularly highlight the service provided by the Chef on duty who went out of his way to ensure we had a great meal even out of normal Restaurant hours
Review 11:Unfortunately the noise of the dual carriageway road was awful. Even though the rooms are double glazed the constant lorries, loud cars and humdrum of vehicles gave two very sleepless nights. Very disappointed.
Review 12:The staff were "First Class" and very helpful. Fast service, friendly and better than a number of hotels in the trendy district around Oxford Street, London. Well done.
Review 13:The event was for a James Bond related party, so the location on the edge of Black Park is ideal. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room and facilities were great so wonderful overall.
Review 14:Staff on the desk during the day were unresponsive to me focusing on their own work on the computers not on the client. Problems with the toilet. Carpet stained. Breakfast limited.
Review 15:Location, parking, size of the room.
Review 16:Great location, close to M40/M25 and Denham Railway station, to get in and out of Wembley for big matches with no fuss - saved 1 hour + each way. Rooms comfortable, very friendly and helpful restaurant staff.
Review 17:Menu lacking in healthy options Toilet bowl rocked Room 19 noisy because of main road Shower did not run at constant heat run very hot then cold. This was dangerous. No wifi connection in room what so ever after stating there was free wifi in rooms
Review 18:Location to pinewood studios
Review 19:Water was dangerously hot - the small bottle of bubble bath dropped into the bath literally blistered .
Review 20:Excellent location with plentiful and safe parking. Spacious room with plenty of storage and good cleanliness throughout. Spacious and well maintained grounds. Unusual and interesting décor throughout. Breakfast was of a high standard and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Review 21:Shower in the family room works off mixer taps very difficult to get the temperature right jumped from hot to cold and the shower curtain should be replaced. Kids comment - X-box needs updating not all controllers worked and need new games!
Review 22:Really polite and happy staff, all of them. The food was great. We were able to have the x-box for the room ....kids happy! Room was a great size for us as a family. Great location as we had legoland booked on the saturday.
Review 23:nothing to complain about, as this is run of the mill hotel, but the staff make it so much more.
Review 24:The staff were very friendly and did all they could to help.
Review 25:Wifi signal not brilliant in our particular room (25) - erratic connection. Pillows - although we found the two spares, not enough 'lift' for support - need a good pair on bed.
Review 26:Lovely setting with great eating area. Food great.
Review 27:Receptionist on check out wasn't overly cheerful. More interested in flirting with the American guest he was allowing to use the hotel computer
Review 28:Room was spacious, modern and clean
Review 29:The shower was very poor - very little control between scalding hot and freezing cold. One of the worst showers that I have encountered. The health club (off site) needed a detailed questionnaire before you could visit - I decided it was too intrusive and didn't bother
Review 30:The room was comfortable and reasonably quiet. The food and service in the restaurant was very good
Review 31:We had some problem with the wifi - not sure if it was our old ipad or the hotels signal. We could gear a humming noise coming from outside our windows and while I slept through it did keep my husband awake
Review 32:Lovely location, we were upgraded to an executive room free of charge and it was comfortable and roomy. We had the 2 for £12 evening meal offer and we both enjoyed the freshly cooked food. The staff were very polite and professional and made us feel welcome.
Review 33:First room had air conditioning unit hanging off the wall and the safe was broken. Lots of congestion on patio due to wedding party. Lots of smoking and bad language
Review 34:Staff were great
Review 35:Very noisy air conditioning units in both rooms and kitchen extractorleft on just outside window. Hard mattress
Review 36:Food amazing and really nice service. Staff immediately moved us to adifferent room when complained about the noise and bed and we actuallyended up upgraded.
Review 37:The hotel needs updating in all areas. I paid £99 for the night and have experienced better hotels for this price. Really disappointed. Would I consider this hotel again No
Review 38:The staff on the front desk were very helpful.
Review 39:The restaurant served excellent food and there is a good outside space to run the children around including a few outdoor games. Breakfast was both delicious and filling with a good choice of food available.
Review 40:Free wifi is hosted via an insecure host page through Facebook so I wouldn't use it to do anything secure.
Review 41:Really pleasant hotel, friendly staff, great food.
Review 42:Couldn't fault a single thing, the staff were wonderful friendly and very accommodating. They made our little family very welcome and would not hesitate to return! Breakfast was excellent as was the fayre on offer for dining. The garden and supersized games were a most welcome addition for the children and us adults alike. The quirky decor gave a boutique feel and the little details made it feel special without being pretentious. Excellent all round
Review 43:room smelt a bit foisty but l think was the air conditioning as room was spotless and clean. so fell may have been something in the air conditioning vent .
Review 44:beautiful hotel . great grounds and garden . excellent value for money . also was my young sons birthday which l put in a mail and we all got a sup rise as they brought candles and sang for him took him by surprise so thank you for this
Review 45:The location was beautiful with a huge garden with giant Jenna, chess board and football playing area that the kids loved. The staff were warm and friendly and the it was great value.
Review 46:Was disappointed had asked for the quiet room which was on the selection at the time of booking. We we're located far end if a corridor clearly next to main road. Went to have a shower the water would either be boiling hot or cold no I between. The dressing gown that was left smelt if aftershave and had clearly not been washed. At breakfast be warned ask for about if coffee if you like more than one. We we're given a cup of coffee and had to ask for more as no one checks again after to see if you are ok.
Review 47:Hotel looked nice and staff we're friendly. Good car parking, gardens nice, front desk staff we're welcoming on arrival. Rooms standard not clean see below. Kids beds soft and fluffy . Overall ok hotel
Review 48:family room, children sofa bed is a leather sofa and not comfortable, bed sheet kept slipping off which disturbed our sleep. Also by main roa a bit noisy
Review 49:Good location to visit legoland. Hotel grounds are nice, breakfast was nice
Review 50:The waitor who doubled up as a barman stunk of bo and we had breakfast at 8 and the bacon wasn't nice and beans warm. Was better last time I stayed
Review 51:The gardens are lovely and the room comfortable.
Review 52:Our first room smelt very strong of cigarette smoke but they very quickly found us another room next door. Put up beds for the children which was ok for our two very young children but I wouldn't put a child over 8 on them as mattresses very thin. The duvets on all beds were winter ones far too thick for the summer we ended up taking the duvets out of the covers and just sleeping with the covers on top of us.
Review 53:Good location as not too far from legoland which was our main purpose for our stay. Breakfast was ok they had a nice selection to choose from.
Review 54:Not aware that all the rooms dont have lift access, this was a problem for my partner who is disabled. However this did not spoil our stay which was very enjoyable
Review 55:Excellent staff, nice clean comfortable room, good breakfast, very pleasant surroundings
Review 56:Air conditioning broken in first room on ground floor. Moved to first floor. Not as many telly channels as first room. No lift facilities for our disabled child. No free wifi access in our room.
Review 57:Lovely breakfast. Nice gardens for children to play in. Friendly, helpful staff. My son left his wallet in the room and it was returned to us via post.
Review 58:We booked a family room expecting two single beds or pull out and a bed for the adults. However one of the kids beds was a plastic upholstered corner chair with foot rest covered in a sheet which slipped every time he moved. Hence mum gave up get spot in bed and slept on the floor!
Review 59:Lovely big gardens to wander around and breakfast was varied and plentiful! Great location for Legoland.
Review 60:Dirty bathroom, frankly embarrassing camp bed (in a purportedly 4 star hotel) for child, noisy but ineffective air con, generally tired looking rooms with dangerous (loose faceplate) electric fittings.
Review 61:Leaving.
Review 62:Our room was really dark because not all the lights worked. Our shower was also obviously broken. Definitely not worth £115 per night. Absolutely not 4star which it claims to be
Review 63:The air con worked.
Review 64:There was no wifi in the room, a cable was given upon request but the socket was hanging out of he wall and only worked for about 2 hours, then didn't work again all weekend.
Review 65:Dinner in the evening was really lovely, the chef cooked amazing tuna steak just as requested and the waiters couldn't have been more attentive! Breakfast was lovely and lots of variety!
Review 66:Family room was too small so had to remove one of the 2 kids beds so we have room to move around. The plumbing was a bit of a nightmare as I had to push so hard to flush the toilet, the kids couldn't manage it! The TV had only 5 or 6 channels and nothing could be done about it!!!
Review 67:Large garden for kids to run about. Reserved area. Generally nice feeling being around here...
Review 68:Beware of car park security try and get close to hotel. Staff actually told me they have problems with car security. Room & bathroom lacked cleanliness. Uncomfortable bed. Asked for extra pillows only had 2 extremely flat - was told hotel full no pillows available but they would try and find so wait.... waited nothing. wedding venue so expect noise from disco Expensive for a single room
Review 69:Location suited my needs
Review 70:Shower was a little temperamental. The children had to have baths, which isn't a problem, but the hot/scalding hot/Luke warm fluctuation wasn't to their taste!
Review 71:Staff friendly, room comfortable, breakfast lovely. Gardens were very nice and the children played happily.
Review 72:We stayed at Pinewood hotel after a very busy and tiring day at legolanden-route to Dorset and would definitely recommend.Although the route in is not too scenic, once you're inside it's lovely accommodation set in beautiful sprawling gardens which the children could explore freely. It has a fantastic restaurant with good wines and it was just what we needed - very comfortable and accommodating. The young Asian gentleman in the bistro couldn't do enough for us during dinner and even bought warm milk to our room. 5* service with a smile.
Review 73:Great hotel, the staff where really helpful and polite. I stayed with a two year old and a seven year old and they enjoyed their stay here they loved the massive garden area where they where free to run about. The rooms where beautiful perfect for a family very clean throughout and with a big TV. Great food
Review 74:First room I was given was tiny and felt as if I was in in the attic down a labrynth of corridors and Fire doors- as soon as I asked to move this was done very courteously and with no argument
Review 75:Second room lovely and spacious even with an iron and board
Review 76:Didn't realise it was so far out of Slough we were out a fortune in taxi's and we regret not staying in Windsor which seemed more family friendly. It felt like we were the only family there never seen anyone else we were here in June nothing to keep kids entertained.so we stayed out all day and came back to sleep ... Not worth the money at all ... So disappointed rooms grubby and grounds are very much run down def needs a lick of paint and some maintenance .
Review 77:Food was lovely friendly staff and kids loved breakfast too..
Review 78:Very poor shower, you are either burned or are frozen. Bed experience was uncomfortable and the TV was poor, WIFI hit and miss, plus badly light rooms.
Review 79:Toilet broke in night and flushed all night, night porter tried his best but couldn't fix it. On check out they didn't seem bothered and I paid for the privilege of a sleepless night!!!!
Review 80:Lovely garden to sit in
Review 81:I booked a double room and was given a twin, after complaining we were moved to an executive suite which had no AC but took it as didn't want to move to far from my group. Shower was very hard to control - either (dangerously) scalding or freezing cold. At breakfast they only offered powdered eggs, I then asked the chef if I could have a fried egg and he said NO buffet only!!! My tea cup was dirty, the milk jug had what appeared to be coffee stains and the table wobbled so much it spilt my coffee. The waiter who only topped up my coffee if I could find him suggested I plead with the chef to fry me an egg which despite being in my favour I didn't fancy begging for a fried egg!!
Review 82:The grounds were nice and my bed was comfortable.
Review 83:Executive suite we moved my disabled mother to because she required a walk in shower was right by the front door so she suffered with constant interuptions by people coming and going at all hours.
Review 84:Location was perfect for our attendance at a nearby wedding. Breakfast and dinner were above average for hotel food and the prices were reasonable.
Review 85:The hotel was a little tired and smelt damp in my room, I also was invaded with creepie crawlies in my case when I got home there were about five silverfish and some other things with horns crawling out oof it.
Review 86:Friendly staff
Review 87:Grounds were large but nondescript
Review 88:Staff very helpful, good meals. Hotel situated in the middle of nowhere but ok for us. 10 mins drive to Eton and then a very pleasant walk over the bridge to Windsor.
Review 89:I stayed there one week prior and paid ten pounds more for the same room. The booking.com room was bottom of the barrel, unfortunately- no cable, hot/cold water on and off- bed wasn't adjustable and a view of the street. The housekeepers knocked on my door at 930, even tho check out is 11am. The slamming of the other room doors was so loud by housekeeping, it woke me up every time.
Review 90:Staff very accommodating. Two children's beds were of good size. In a good size family room. Room quiet despite being located close to a road. Lovely grounds for children to run in and still be seen while parents have a drink.
Review 91:Room was very dark even with all lighting on TV didn't work No prices in mini-bar and random selection of items Too many exotic teas and include normal English breakfast tea
Review 92:Comfortable bed WI-FI with no need for password but reverted back to 3G as so slow Breakfast
Review 93:Staff in the restaurant were unhelpful and a bit rude. I asked to sit outside as It was a beautiful sunny morning and he said yes take your cutlery and go. Had to keep asking for a refill of coffee and breakfast buffet cleared away well before time just because I was the only one there. It have been nice to be asked. Just slap dash service that can easily be improved.
Review 94:Location was great for what I needed
Review 95:Shower was very hard to control - either (dangerously) scalding or freezing cold.
Review 96:Great welcome, very nice restauran (had dinner in the hotel)t, nice terrace, room was fine, although a little dated, great breakfast. Price was also good.
Review 97:Room 21, bed dipped in middle, awful view from window of plumbing/pipes and air vents. Needs tidying up outside, kerb appeal lets it down. Looks like an abandoned car in car park,
Review 98:Everything was good, room size, facilities etc.
Review 99:We like to sleep with window open and air con off. Unfortunately when we opened the window we found that the air con system for the whole building was on the roof outside our window and humming loudly all night. Not Good! We had a much nicer room last time we stayed.
Review 100:The breakfasts are excellent.i
Review 101:It would appear we had been put in the wheelchair access room as the toilet/shower room had no shower screen and everything got soaked when you had a shower. The water did not run away and stayed in pools on the floor. Also, the tiles were very grubby and needed the mould cleaned off.
Review 102:Staff were very nice and the breakfast was good.
Review 103:The room was small but adequate for our one night stay. Struggled to get the shower at a comfortable temperature, it was either too hot or too cold.
Review 104:Very close to pinewood studios and lovely relaxing atmosphere. Had dinner in the brasserie, staff were very good and attentive wanting to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The food was lovely, both dinner and breakfast the next morning.
Review 105:Friendly, helpful staff Good food from an interesting menu, something for everyone. Not over priced. Room comfortable and well apointed. Large south facing grounds - plenty of shaded seating.
Review 106:Being constantly referred to as "My Love" by one of the staff; he called the blokes "Sir."
Review 107:Dinner was excellent. Outside seating area was lovely.
Review 108:The children's meals are a bit over priced - 9.50 for an adult pizza, 7.50 for the kids pizza which was half an adults!! (no drink or ice cream included).
Review 109:This was a one night stop-over and was more than acceptable. The food in the evening and at breakfast was good quality. The staff were all efficient and friendly. Lovely safe garden area to sit and have a drink on a summers night while our daughter 'explored' with her new friend.
Review 110:Room was lovely & clean & comfortable but did become quite hot during the night, had to open the window, which was then quite noisy as we were on s main road side of building.
Review 111:Food was excellent. Lovely to sit out in garden outside restaurant having a drink whilst out 5 yr old daughter played with the other children.
Review 112:Bad idea to hold prom with very loud music there when you have guests who want a relaxing evening and are trying to prepare for a heavy working day. I will not choose this hotel again for a business trip because of this.
Review 113:Staff were friendly
Review 114:Thin pillows has to use all. Room 16 was next to external ac units quite noisy, shower kept changing temperature. Hot water okay on bath taps but not in shower head.
Review 115:Breakfast, location.
Review 116:Wi Fi only worked intermittently Shower took ages to warm up (but was lovely once it had) Could hear guests staying in room above very clearly
Review 117:Great food - especially the dark chocolate fudge slice with clotted cream and toffee sauce (Amazing!) Friendly staff Perfect location for visiting Pinewood Studios and cheaper than nearby Holiday Inn in Slough
Review 118:No WiFi for mobile phone in room only in public areas. Needs to improved or you will lose business. People expect to be able to pick up wifi everywhere.
Review 119:Fact that the glazing totally shut out the sound of the road. Pleasant helpful staff.
Review 120:The air conditioning in my room was blowing hot air which led to a disturbed nights sleep. When I shared this with receptionat checkout I felt no empathy whatsoever. The staff member gave me a blank look.
Review 121:Lovely modern building, good standard of decor throughout. Comfortable room.
Review 122:Being a family of four we were looking forward to staying in an air conditioned room - unfortunately the air con in our room had broken! Therefore we all endured a very hot and sweaty night and didn't sleep very well. This left us disappointed as up until that point the hotel and staff were very pleasant.
Review 123:The breakfast was the best part of our stay.
Review 124:We asked for a quiet room which you stipulate on your web site. We stayed in room 12( executive room!) which was extremely noisy! The sofa in the corner was extremely dangerous - stubbing toes each time you walked around the bed! Lighting very poor. The light on the "dressing table" did not work.
Review 125:Very friendly staff, excellent food. We were not sure that the man on reception was joking or not when he asked for £10, then £5 for a duplicate key. In the end he gave us one for free!
Review 126:Useless TV in room. Channel listings didnt match up and the reception desk was not able to put it right.
Review 127:Pretty setting, lovely breakfast options, friendly and above average in terms of accommodation
Review 128:I was unable to pull the blind down on the bathroom window so that was a bit awkward when having a shower, as the window was opposite. Although the glass is frosted, I still felt quite vulnerable and not obscured completely from view!
Review 129:Great location - perfect for London & Pinewood Studios. Efficient check-in, clean and comfortable room, great buffet breakfast,
Review 130:Lots of things broken in the room. The bathroom blind was broken and the shower screen wasn't fittied on the side of the bath properly so water leaked all over the floor. The plug in the basin didn't fit properly so water didn't stay in the sink. The bin wasn't emptied in the bedroom. Tv reception wasn't great and no channel 4 reception. Bed was hard! Receptionist offered me a cheaper stay next time but won't be staying there again!
Review 131:A good choice for the breakfast of hot and cold food.
Review 132:Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable (standard double). Our meal in the brasserie was of high quality and breakfast was really good. We will definitely be looking to stay again
Review 133:Nothing.
Review 134:This is a perfect hotel for using as a base for Legoland with kids. Very child friendly and the staff were great from reception through to kitchen. Highly recommended.
Review 135:If there had been a lounge or sitting area outside the restaurant/bar it would have increased the fellowship for our group.
Review 136:Comfortable rooms, good parking and helpful, pleasant staff. Hotel menu for both breakfast and evening meals was good and food well cooked.
The Fine Print
