Reviews for Hôtel Restaurant du Château

Review 1:Stairway and landing not lit and was quite dark. The walk back to the restaurant is not lit and on unmade road. I was with my 76yr old mum so these points were based around that.

Review 2:The hotel is situated from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, but still convenient. The restaurant is a short walk from the hotel, excellent food but we had a very long wait before we were given wine and even longer before the food arrived.

Review 3:Not being able to check in until 3 and being told in an unfriendly tone Wifi not always working Not being able to get a cup of coffee to sit in the lovely courtyard area. Didn't have breakfast here because we had to sit inside when this lovely area was available.

Review 4:Quiet Pool great Nice restaurant close by Easy access to Rocamador

Review 5:The staff are a bit standoffish and could be more helpful. Wifi worked in the reception area but not in the room. The air-conditioning was a bit noisy and not completely effective when the weather's hot. However, none of that would stop us thinking about booking this hotel in the future - the hotel itself and the room we had at the rear are both superbly located.

Review 6:The location. As its name suggests, the hotel is situated very close to the chateau above Rocamadour, one of my favourite places in France. Our room had a small terrace at ground floor level that gave directly onto a lawn and a large swimming pool that was very accessible and welcome given the hot weather during our stay. Very peaceful stay, pretty good value for money.

Review 7:Excellent location, nice authentic building with large rooms, own green territory with a pool opened till late so you can swim after a long drive, good restaurant with nice atmosphere and food. Rocamadour castle in 5 min walk, sanctuary one floor down by elevator or by feet

Review 8:We liked everything about this hotel. It was well situated, minutes from the traditional descent down into the medieval town of Rocamadour. The place was attractive, clean, quiet and 200+ feet off the main road, giving it a sense of seclusion. The staff was very helful. Parking and WIFI were free, as was use of the attractive swimming pool. The 10€ breakfast provided an excellent assortment of morning victuals. As an added bonus the hotel had an excellent restaurant located three minutes from the main hotel. My wife and I enjoyed one of the best meals we had in our two month tour of south-central France at the hotel restaurant. There is nothing about this place we did not like. It was a great value. I would highly recommend it to other travelers.

Review 9:I asked about gluten free food and did not even get an acknowledgement. It is not exactly quite as it is at the back of a car park. The air con rattled and the shower did not have a curtain. The breakfast was limited.

Review 10:Clean, comfortable bed. Staff were helpful.Lots of car parking space.

Review 11:Think sadly the rooms need a bit of updating, no coffee or tea making options seems a bit sad but aware this is the case

Review 12:Always like to stay here, lovely location easy parking and access to lifts Rocamadour main town- restaurant always first class and a real treat when we visit here

Review 13:Good location and loved the pool.

Review 14:Rooms a bit cramped and needs upgrading.

Review 15:Staff were wonderful and very helpful, even though they did not English.

Review 18:Incredible Location with swimming pool

Review 19:Fairly basic accommodation

Review 23:Wifi was bad. No fridge in the room

Review 24:No tea making facilities in the room

Review 25:location was good, parking good, detached restaurant & site very good, but costly.

Review 26:wifi didnt work

Review 27:nice swimming pool good restaurant great place

Review 28:Swimming Pool not open on first day of stay (despite the weather being very hot!)

Review 29:Quiet location

Review 30:Beds were very hard and thin. WiFi could only be used at the front desk

Review 31:Location was very good.

Review 32:No complaints at all.

Review 33:Very close to the breathtaking views of the old town. Hotel is surrounded by green park and has a really relaxing atmosphere, and a swimming pool. Rocamadour is really stunning to visit.

Review 34:I thought the breakfast was over-priced. There was no fresh fruit and the machine cooking the boiled eggs did not work efficiently because the water level was low. I did not enjoy eating my breakfast with flies and dogs. There were flies hovering over the croissants and bread. - no covers for these!

Review 35:The staff was very helpful.

Review 36:Very helpful organising us to have a room with French window out on to rear land to enable my disabled husband to access parked car easily. Also easy access to breakfast room. Very delightful place to be.

Review 37:Décor a little dated, but suited us for a night's stay en route to the south coast.

Review 38:Situated at the top of Rocamadour with a five minute walk to the lift or path down into the village. On site parking was a bonus. There was a swimming pool which we didn't have time to use, but would be a bonus if you were staying more than one night as the weather was hot!

Review 39:Hotel a bit tired air con not working

Review 40:The staff The restaurant top class food

Review 41:Just as described above Rocamadour and great value.

Review 42:Comfortable room, excellent dinner.

Review 43:the restaurant and food were excellent
