Reviews for Le Terminus des Pèlerins

Review 1:Because our room overlooked the street, even though the town was very quiet in the evening, any sounds from the street (such as a car engine starting) were very audible from the room especially since we had the window open because it was warm.

Review 2:We stayed here as a stopover on a cycling trip. In the evening, after the restaurant had closed, we were able to store our bikes in the restaurant area overnight. We had a large room overlooking the old street. The room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was also a good size.

Review 3:Parking could be tricky, although we had no problem finding spots near to the hotel.

Review 4:Fantastic location. Friendly staff Great view from room Good restaurant

Review 5:It is difficult to criticise this hotel Although not really a negative. Meal portions were enormous and a little overwhelming.

Review 6:The charm, service and location of this hotel is definitely not recognised in its 2* rating. A fabulous hotel with accommodating staff and hearty meals is definitely worth a visit and is highly recommended

Review 7:It's right in the centre of the main street in the village. The owner spoke English and was very helpful. She organised a taxi to take us back to the train station as unlike most other travellers to Rocamadour we trained in which is a 4 kilometre walk away. Overall a very pleasant experience which we'd highly recommend to anyone travelling to Rocamadour.

Review 8:Can be a little noisy overnight as the various services do their jobs (window open - no aircon).

Review 9:Excellent location - right at the foot of the pilgrims' staircase. You can view the castle from the landing skylight window. Once the daytrippers have gone home around 6pm then you have a much more pleasant experience of the town. If you arrive shortly after 5pm then there should be parking space directly opposite the hotel entrance - be prepared for the looks of the tourists as you drive (carefully) through the main pedestrian precinct (you are allowed to!).

Review 10:The Bed we slept in was very hard and we could feel the springs. We both woke with sore backs. I think it is time for a new mattress. But everything else was great. Thanks

Review 11:the location and view were beautiful

Review 12:Only jam (from her garden I must add) croissants & bagette at breakfast. Nothing in area but I knew that so was prepared with wine etc. This is not negative as loved it for our overnight stay.

Review 13:Lady is so friendly. Even waved us off the next day. I packed a picnic to use in the outside kitchen. I lot candles etc. Kids loved it. Pool very clean. Rooms cluttered in a cosy way. Good wifi.

Review 14:Our room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast and the restaurant was excellent. Parking opposite the hotel from 18.00 but free day parking available just catch the mini train back to the Main Street. The lady that runs this hotel is fantastic very helpful as is all the staff. A very good choice for Rocomador .

Review 15:Everything - cannot fault this place. The location is spectacular and right in the heart of Rocamadour. Would return here in a heart beat. The rooms are pleasant, would recommend room on the street view side. We arrived to music being played below our window - just perfect. Great affordable restaurant as well. Loved it!

Review 16:One of our girls got bitten by fleas in Room 7. The owner was very concerned when we reported it and I'm sure it will be resolved.

Review 17:Excellent position in ancient town. Parking available in front of hotel. Lovely terrase and beutiful valley views from the room.

Review 18:Our room had a private terrace. It was absolutely magical sitting there in the evening with a glass of rose wine, watching the sun go down. Restaurant was great, with varied choice of food. Décor beautiful.

Review 19:The hotel was lovely, the location on Google maps definitely not! It showed the hotel as being at the very top of the gorge when it was only half way. Not fun when you've just cycled/pushed up the side if a mountain in hot sun!

Review 20:Great location in the Main Street, great for shopping and generally exploring the town

Review 21:The layout of the room. The tiny, yes tiny, toilet cubicle was in one corner of the bedroom and the shower and washbasin were in the lobby. Therefore you had to go through 3 doors to wash your hands after using the toilet.

Review 22:The balcony and helpfulness of staff especially with the parking which is very limited.

Review 23:The location was excellent. Very knowledgeable owner, who was born on this site, spoke extremely good English, and was most accommodating. Seemed like she did it all! The hotel food was very good. Well situated for viewing the cliff-side city, which had been on our list to see for several years.

Review 24:No facility for making a hot drink for ourselves. Tiny toilet and bathroom.

Review 25:Wonderful view across the valley from our room and from the restaurant balcony. At night no competing lights and a superb skyscape. Quiet, comfortable room and bed . We were 3 older couples travelling in 2 cars and the very helpful proprietor came outside to direct us to the hotel's parking spaces. Hotel restaurant served a good breakfast and dinner.

Review 26:It is so nice to stay in a family run hotel where the caring attitude of the owners set the tone of welcoming attentiveness. I greatly appreciated that my advance request for gluten free bread had been taken into account, I ate dinner here one evening and it was excellent. The room was small but with a comfortable bed and a beautiful view of the valley, there were fresh towels every day. Just beside the "Grand Escalier", the location could not have been better.

Review 27:Many restaurants in Rocamadour offered very similar menus and if one is vegetarian or just generally accustomed to eat lots of vegetables, it can be a bit difficult or boring to find reasonably priced and interesting entrees. This is not a failing of this hotel or restaurant but something held in common with all the restaurants we visited.

Review 28:The owner of this hotel is remarkable. She is present and ready to be of help first thing in the morning and also late at night. She is both pleasant and efficient and has engaged an excellent cadre of waiters and hotel staff. The building is older and very well maintained. Our room was small, clean and serviceable. The hotel runs a restaurant. We ate breakfast and dinner out on the flower-rimmed terrace. The view of the valley is stunning. The service is attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good with ample quantities of everything. Dinners were more mixed...the salads and soups were very good but the main courses were more ordinary....good but not memorable. All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel. Its location at the base of the cliff on Rocamadour's single street made it very handy to everything. Just note, if arriving and departing by train that the station is a fair distance from town. You need a cell phone to call a taxi from the station and taxis are exceedingly few. Arrange your departure taxi immediately upon arrival.

Review 29:Nothing really this was our second visit and we would stay again if we were in the area.

Review 30:We had stayed here last year for an overnight stop and returned for a longer look round. The location is stunning our room had a view over the valley and you are right in the centre of the village. The hotel restaurant has a terrace again with views of the valley. We feel this hotel offers excellent value.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Given the age of the building, every effort had been made to ensure it was comfortable. It is is a brilliant location inside the old city and parking was easy and close. The staff were lovely. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was fantastic as we tried the regional speciality duck. The two waiters were excellent and very friendly.

Review 33:Nothing of real issue.

Review 34:The location in the middle of the village. Close parking if you get a place in front of the hotel(few places). dining area with excellent viewing. Food was good.

Review 35:Parking was tricky. Especially when you don't realize that you have to squeeze through the Mideivel gates. But loads of fun and adventure!

Review 36:The location was right in the village of Rocamadour. Fantastic spot.

Review 37:These are comments not dislikes, no lift difficult for disabled, room 10 very cramped but great views, generally tired accommodation, but look past that for the benefits

Review 38:Location, when we needed anything nothing was to much trouble

Review 39:Right in the heart of Rocamadour, the location for this hotel is absolutely stunning. Staff were very helpful and the our room was lovely. Really enjoyed our stay.

Review 40:the view overlooking the narrow valley from the room's window... serene , perched but so close to nature, Reminded me of Jaisalmar - though so different in colour. Rocamadour is stunning from the moment its revealed while approaching it along the winding road, especially at dusk ..

Review 41:The drive through the tiny Racamadour street to reach the hotel. Nothing had prepared me for the finger pointing and 'mouthed comments' - even though we weren't breaking any rules!

Review 42:We had a room with balcony overlooking the valley. Remarkable - a woke up to a hot air balloon floating by! Fraught drive to the hotel (just after 17.30) along very narrow street and many disgruntled tourists. Great welcome and attention. Traditional French breakfast - more than adequate.

Review 43:Simple, unfussy rooms but clean and perfectly adequate for a good night's sleep.

Review 44:Helpful friendly service. Good food, excellent restaurant service. Outstanding location and views (but as with any place to stay near the middle of Rocamadour with many pedestrians and narrow medieval streets, don't expect easy car access right to the hotel door). Rocamadour is quiet at night allowing for a good night's sleep.

Review 45:We chose not to stay for breakfast as 2 people in our party can'teat bread and they only offer a standard continental breakfast, butthere is very little else open in the village, so we ended up goinghungry until things started opening up after 10am.

Review 46:The whole experience was very convenient for us, we arrived around 7pmand parked right outside the hotel which we could leave there until 12pmthe next day.

Review 47:Rocamadour is a very small and idyllic location. If you are going to base yourself here to see the local attractions (Grottes, Goufres, Food etc) then Le Terminus is great. Quiet, peaceful and a great restaurant as well

Review 48:On our way to Carcassone we had the misfortune of being involved in an accident which left us very shaken. Joel was kindness itself and made us feel very at home. We especially enjoyed the breakfast taken in the old fashioned greenhouse.

Review 49:Very friendly and helpful staff. Location as central as possible, right across steps leading up to higher levels of city. Restaurant located in the hotel with good food and view of the valley. Parking is an issue anywhere in Rocamadour, most likely need to park down in the valley and walk up. Would absolutely stay again.

Review 50:We missed cheese and cold cuts for breakfast.

Review 51:The staff was really welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room was quite small as you can expect to be in an old building but the balcony gave extra room and value. The location was good, being in the middle of the main street restaurants and shops.

Review 52:A lot of people for a small town, but I can see why.

Review 53:Breathtaking location and views. It is an historical gem.

Review 108:great breakfast. great staff.

Review 109:Nothing, however narrow staircase and no lift which might be a problem for some people

Review 110:The location was great ,in the centre of Rocamadour. We had a room with terrace which had fantastic views over the valley.

Review 111:NOTHING

Review 112:View was magnificent. Hotel was spotless and charming. Staff was attentive, professional,, and friendly. Dinner on the terrace was delicious and provided a truly magnificent view.

Review 113:Rooms (and especially bathrooms are quite small), but worth it for the location and views. In the dining room there were a lot (a lot) of flies. We chose not to eat dinner there as it was somewhat off-putting. Other reviewers have commented on the flies in Rocamadour, but we didn't have the problem at the other two restaurants we chose to dine in.

Review 114:The location of the hotel in the old part of the city is amazing. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the valley and the hotel happily delivers your breakfast to your room (no charge) to enjoy sitting on the terrace for breakfast. On a clear sunny morning, this was amazing. Helpfulness of Genevieve in ensuring we always had convenient parking for our car (right at door of hotel) was greatly appreciated.

Review 115:The rooms are a little small and steep stairs. Though it is only a small concern

Review 116:The hotel is very well located the staff are very friendly and the Hotel is very clean the restaurant food was great.
