Reviews for Lou Cigaloun

Review 1:All fine

Review 2:Owner, who was generally on Reception, was very helpful with information about restaurants, and welcoming when we arrived and were wondering where the car-park was.

Review 3:perfect location where is convenient to access everywhere by foot in old town. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staffs were very friendly and helpful.

Review 4:We lived in the room No. 5, which is very close to the main street and very very noisy, so that sleeping was almost impossible. If you are luckier and get a room with the window to the courtyard, it is probably good choice. AC was above the bed, so when it was on, the cold air flew directly to the heads of the sleepers.

Review 5:friendly owner, nice breakfast

Review 6:There wasn't anything I didn't like except there being no lift in terms of getting the luggage upstairs, but we found our luggage in our room, transported while we waited for our room to be ready, so I don't have the right to complain about that.

Review 7:The location is very central, perfect for tourism - on the edge of the pedestrian zone yet still accessible by car or taxi. The staff are remarkably helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. I truly appreciated all the extra efforts they put into the perfection of our stay.

Review 8:Room price as advertised on the door was under 70 euro. By booking through an agency I paid 102!

Review 9:Good location in centre of town, 15 minute walk to train, 5 to the Roman Theatre and decent restaurants.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:The owner is a very friendly and helpfull lady who helped us parking our car in the secured parking place of the hotel. She knows everything about Orange and specially the fine restaurants. Our BIG compliments for her!!

Review 12:Room "ok." Took shower at 10 pm and only got lukewarm water. Morning shower had hot water. Arm on armchair lifted off when I stood up, needed gluing.

Review 13:Tough to get to hotel because of the narrow one-way streets, but hotel has up trailblazers around main road. Upon our arrival, Stéphane was very welcoming and helpful, with good English. Parking in the courtyard well worth the 10 Euros. Easy walk to both the Arch and Arena, and Centre Ville restaurants and shops. Good breakfast (extra charge). I liked that staff had a comment sheet in room, which I filled out and left. Overall, good value and fine for one night we stayed.

Review 14:Welcoming, nice, helpful staff Charming little hotel; nice, personalised decoration; a cozy place, full of books. An excellent breakfast. Good and easy-to-set-up WiFi, available from the room. Three minutes walking from the Roman theatre and a host of great restaurants. They even sell discount-priced tickets for the antique theatre. Next to a calm street.

Review 15:Perfect location in the centre of town with secure parking. Hotel is obviously well looked after, with great attention to detail. Decor is modern and fresh, even though you are in a very old building. They obviously work hard at keeping things in good order.

Review 16:Mosquitoes seem to be endemic and there are no window screens, to our chagrin.

Review 17:The host was incredible, including carrying our luggage upstairs and backing our car out of the small courtyard for us. The location is perfect. The place is very authentic, including soft French music in the breakfast room and a local baked bread pudding. The bathroom was especially clean.

Review 18:No negative aspects. Everything was perfect.

Review 19:The friendliness of the two owners, Emmanuelle & Stephane. They were always more than willing to help & extremely efficient. The hotel was ideally situated for visiting Orange & the breakfasts were very good (especially the homemade cakes & fresh croissants).

Review 20:It is a bit old, no elevator

Review 21:Friendly reception and english speaking!!, in the center of a nice village walking distance, parking, quiet, good matras, cosy place

Review 22:Paying 10 euros a day for parking at the hotel.

Review 23:The hotel is located in the center of Orange and close to all of theRoman ruins. Good breakfast andthe bed comfortable. Unfortunately we hada room facing the street and it was very noisy resulting in two nightsof poor sleep.

Review 24:Large rooms. Air conditioning English TV small gardens for our use. Eclectic decorations owner spoke very good English Capaccino for breakfast Easy location to walk to sights Parking available

Review 25:The owners are a lovely couple who made every effort to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The triple room we booked was spacious and quite charming.

Review 26:Street was a bit noisy, but closed windows and A/C were fine. Inner facing window might have been quieter.

Review 27:Proprietress was very welcoming and super helpful. Made to feel at home at favourite aunts. Location superb for sights and exploring this small centre. Nicely updated, lovely inner garden. Great breakfast - superb pudding!

Review 28:Off street and quiet but in a central location. Very personal characterful non-corporate atmosphere. Genuinely welcoming and helpful english speaking staff. Good price.

Review 29:Delightful people. Quiet street. Simple but very nice and in the center of the town. You can walk to the Roman Arc of Triumph, to the Roman Theater, to a bunch of restaurants within 2 blocks. They have a locked park if you reserve the spot in advance.

Review 30:No real complaints.

Review 31:Nice staff members, very helpful, room was typically small (European standards), but comfortable and clean. Great location for walking about all part of the city.

Review 32:We stayed one night on our way down to the Cote d'Azure. Loved the central location and the on-site parking was very handy. Staff very friendly and helpful and there's a nice relaxed atmosphere. The 2 joined rooms, a double and a twin were ideal for us with the 2 kids and we all got a good nights sleep, aided by the A/C in each room. It's a little on the pricey side but we felt worth it for the convienience and ambience.

Review 33:Facilities are a little shabby, and they have a peg board where they want you to leave your room keys when you are out that is usually unmonitored and thus anyone could get into your room if they wanted to.

Review 34:Good location. Water pressure in the shower was fantastic.

Review 35:Warm, welcoming staff. Nice family room with separate bed room for kids. Newly done bathroom. Private parking easily accessible (with some help of the manager...). Hotel in the city's old center, restaurants, shops and major attractions within walking distance.

Review 36:"Standard" parking slot not easily accessible, parking in a garage possible upon request (if available).

Review 37:Superb receptionist, very friendly and helpful. Hotel easy to find. http://magnumopus.manifo.com

Review 38:None.

Review 39:Outstanding at virtually all aspects a traveler would look for from a three-star hotel - location, sanitation, sleep quality, and hospitality. The host was cheerful, courteous, honest, efficient, fluent in English, and most of all, proactive. Our room was not only lovely but clean, quiet, and intimate.

Review 40:In a very central part of the old town with simple access to the Theatre Antique and restaurants. The hotel owner personally greeted and assisted particularly with options for eating.

Review 41:Would be wonderful if one could have a drink in the hotel!

Review 52:Fantastic location in a lovely city. The manager was great and spoke to us in perfect English when my French started to struggle.

Review 53:Parking was a 10 minute walk away, and a problem when leaving with luggage. Not at all convenient. Wifi signal was very weak

Review 54:Old building with small rooms.

Review 55:Right in centre of Orange. Close to motorway.

Review 56:Walk to parking

Review 58:A bit cheeky being charged 10 Euros per night for parking in the hotel grounds

Review 70:Breakfast could be more variety

Review 71:Centrally located Parking, though small, but owner can help parking Very friendly owner

Review 72:Slightly over my budget

Review 73:Comfortable room. Nice bathroom. Wifi was very good. a/c worked well after a little help from the staff. Central in town with less than 15 minute walk to the train station. Friendly staff

Review 74:Cannot comment on the restaurant; we did not have the breakfast.

Review 75:Helpful owner (Emanuelle) - pleasant & polite. Central location. Accommodation - double bedroom area plus twin bedroom area plus a shared shower room. Not luxurious but clean and adequate. Parking facility.

Review 76:Nothing!

Review 77:We really love everything about this hotel, the service, the food (we always eat in the restaurant) the breakfast is so good, the evening meal is a real pleasure, and the ambience is impeccable. We only sadly stay overnight (as this is one of two overnight stops), so we usually arrive about 19:00 - good to have a secure car park, we have our evening meal, a good nights sleep and breakfast then we continue on our drive between Zurich and Marbella. We do this at least 6 times a year and would not consider staying anywhere else to break our journey.

Review 78:Great location right in the historic center. Very helpful front desk staff always available to help with recommendations on restaurants and things to do.

Review 79:Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Parking at hotel handy and helpful. Hotel in the heart of Orange is very close to principal tourist attractions and lots of restaurants. Can walk everywhere from this location.

Review 80:Private parking - although much appreciated - was difficult to get in and out of but the owner did help.

Review 81:The warm welcome. The location in the old town close to the Amphitheatre and restaurants/shops but quiet. Very good bathroom, well-equipped and clean.

Review 82:Shower cabin was the smallest I ever have used, but not a big harm for 1 person/1 night. More nasty, guests in room under mine were extremely noisy and heavily smoking. Hard to sleep and smoke came through window into the room. Not the fault of owner, but I suggest smoking should be prohibited completely.

Review 83:Very friendly and helpful owner, small but nice room (was really okay for a single traveller). Very centrally located in the historic Center. Basically quiet in the night (outside). Very good WIFI. Value for money. Would come again.

Review 84:The bed could have been a bit more comfortable but all the positives more than made up for it.

Review 85:The owner was very friendly and helpful. In December the hotel was very clean, warm, cozy, relaxing. It made a great base for exploring Orange, sights in the area and the country side. WIFI worked well. We like the place and would go back.

Review 86:No complaints.

Review 87:This is a very comfortable, quiet, well equipped nice place to stay. The room and bathroom are of good quality (although rather small) and the breakfast is very good. Useful being able to park on site with the security of a locked car park. All in all, good value for money. We travel frequently between Zurich and Marbella and have stayed here twice so far. For us it is ideal so we have already booked to stay again. There is no restaurant on site, but plenty of choice within only a few minutes walk. Strongly recommended.

Review 88:The parking entrance is a bit narrow with the big car but was managed very well by the lovely lady.

Review 89:Lovely hotel renovated 2 years ago. Perfect combination between modern bathrooms and provence style bedrooms and breakfast room. Great breakfast and central location. Wonderful host! Thanks for a great stay!

Review 90:- Great value for money: we got two bedrooms for ~EUR100, which is really impressive. - Nice Provence-style design - Good equipment (TVs in each bedroom, aircon etc) - Generous breakfast with ham, cheese, muesli etc. - VERY friendly staff - Secure parking inside - Very central, but quiet location

Review 91:This is an exceptional find! Very good value for a quiet nights sleep, clean and all you need in the room (we had a small room and bathroom) but although small it is very well appointed. The breakfast is wonderful - not to be missed! Friendly and helpful reception, having enjoyed the breakfast it is a pity they do not have a restaurant, but there are plenty of places to eat within less than five minutes walk. I strongly recommend this place (we drive frequently between Marbella in Spain and Zurich) so for us it is a very good overnight stay.

Review 92:Very firendly and helpful owners. Location was excellent with an added bonus of off street private parking. Very good value for money. Would certainly recommend this to any traveller.

Review 93:The room was very spacious. Large double bed and an extra bed (which we did not use). Large modern bathroom. The owner was very helpful in recommending restaurants (Les Amis was excellent!) and giving directions to the free parking area less than a 5-minute walk away. Restaurants and the Amphitheatre were also a few minutes away by foot.

Review 94:Everything! We were welcomed by the hotel owner who recommended local resaurants, and tourist sight. The hotel has recently been renovated and is done to a very high standard. We alos choose to have breakfast which was tasty

Review 95:Everything was just perfect! The room was cosy, decorated with style and equipped with everything one might need. The location of the hotel is brillant, right in the centre of town, yet in a quiet side lane. The reception was very friendly and we got excellent recommendation for restaurants nearby. The breakfast was perfect, too, a rich selection taking into account different European tastes (cookies and cake for the Italians, Käse und Wurst for the Germans, French croissants for everyone). Breakfast could even be taken in a lovely yard. All in all we were superhappy with our choice and can recommend this hotel unrestrictedly.

Review 96:Nothing.

Review 97:Suite with two separate rooms, one for mum & dad and another with two separate beds for our teenage children, all at an acceptable price. Parking good, Breakfast good, character comfortable and typically french.

Review 98:No negatives, whatsoever.

Review 99:One of the owners, Emanulle, is charming and helpful and speaks great English. The hotel is perfectly situated and lovely with a quaint little courtyard. The perfect place to have breakfast, especially with Emanulle's homemade apricot jam with real vanilla.

Review 100:Hotel was very close to the city center. Man at reception was very friendly, spoke great English and provided recommendations for dining. Nice hotel with air conditioning and reasonably priced. We didn't eat there but they do offer breakfast.

Review 101:Hard to find, but a great location in the center of Orange, even a few parking spots! Breakfast outside in a beautiful "secret" garden.

Review 102:Perhaps a little expensive compared with similar hotels we stayed in elsewhere - though its location may account for this.

Review 103:Excellent location a few mins from the Roman theatre - very good breakfast and private parking was a good advantage. Very friendly and helpful owners who speak perfect english.

Review 104:Noise of the a/c of the neighbouring rooms all night long.

Review 105:The owner of the hotel is at the reception. He is very helpful andprovides all kind of indications and recommendation which areextremely helpful.

Review 106:Small room and small bed. Overpriced compared with other hotels in France.

Review 107:Helpful receptionist. Well signposted.

Review 108:the locatioin fo this little place is just perfect-could not be more central. People are extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 109:staff were excellent and terrific location

Review 110:Just an overnight stop but enough restaurants nearby.

Review 111:No lift

Review 112:Friendly staff with lots of information and suggestions. Central location. Clean, warm rooms. Parking. Good wifi.

Review 113:Great in the center of town, parking, very clean rooms and extremely service oriented staff
