Review 1：when we went to bed that night the sheets looked like some else had sleep in them they were crumpled ,long black hair & lots of glitter.the shower had the handle missing so could not use it .no heating .breakfast was in the lounge on a coffee table had to ask for toast & butter it was continentl every where needs a major over hall dirty scuff marks tolet had in ladies was just a end of rail holder carpets very dirty & rumbled

Review 3：Just checked my bank statement and I have been charged twice for the night breakfast was a bit basic and coffee was from a vending machine , not even fresh instant breakfast on sunday morning was 7-9 which is a bit early for most Saturday night parties

Review 9：Basic room. The drawers appeared to be those you would find in an office! My stay was from a Saturday through to Tuesday. I was informed there would be a party on the Saturday night and as my room was facing the events room I heard the music and fireworks late into the night. This I accepted as it was a party. I did not however expect there to be a second night on the Sunday, minus the fireworks but no less noisy. The following day I went for breakfast with 5 minutes to spare . I walked into an empty dining room and was asked by a leaving member of staff if I wanted anything as it was 9.00 am, the cook had gone home and everything had been put away. After a brief discussion about the actual time he said he could get some cheese, yoghurt and bread for me. I refused but he insisted and so I carried a few slices of processed cheese, two boiled eggs to my room. I didn't want the bread!

Review 12：We had an event in their function room so stayed for 1 night. I requested for a room in the new part of the hotel and for all my guests to stay on the same floor which staff did. We were also given a room downstairs to put all our things for our event. Hotel staff were very accommodating. The room is on the small side but was clean and comfortable.

Review 13：The breakfast was very poor. There had been a party the night before: there were tins outside, empty glasses and lots of rubbish which no one had cleared up. I wouldn't stay there again.

Review 15：I had a very Bad experience in this hotel. I went to the washroom, the bath tub drain stopper didn't open, there was a kettle in the room and I opend it, I don't know how long it was cleaned . It was full of dirt inside. I wen to the reception to complain, the receptionist said please wait for 15 mins, I was waiting, a person came, I think heis the Manager. They were just talking something else and didn't bother that I was waiting. after I went to them to talk again , they said its not possible and came to see the room. After lookingthe room the manager said he will arrange a new room and finally got a new room.

Review 19：In a run down neighborhood. Wouldn't feel comfortable walking around there. Reception area didn't smell great. A continental breakfast--nothing cooked for you. Due to location and breakfast, should be less money.

Review 23：We came for romantic weekend and left completely regretting for choosing this place. It's a run down hotel, our room had a very old mattress, bath and sink plug holes were clogged. We were lied to about breakfast as we booked a room with breakfast (as advertised on booking.com) and we were told to come from 7-9am. As we came downstairs the receptionist told us there is no breakfast on Sunday (and there was no one to complain to. We were given an email address to complain,however, nobody ever responded). This resulted in us having to go elsewhere, incurring futher unplanned costs. Internet did not work (able to connect to the wifi but no actual internet connection). There are communal toilets (very smelly ) on the way to the room. Overall total waste of money and time.

Review 24：I didnt like the room... and this is why!!!! The toilet seat had a long hair on it, the hand towel was damp, used bar of soap in the shower, bed had hairs under duvet, one pillow had black mascara on the pillow case, the other pillow had 2 pillows stuffed into the pillow case, the window rattled when windy, TV didn't work properly.

Review 25：The general outside appearance was pleasing to look at but the let down was the cleanliness of the room.

Review 26：They booked us in a room that did not cater for our baby even though we requested a family room with cot. They then changed the room which was fine but then the cot that arrived had no base so the baby was expected to sleep on the bars or they offered me a duvet. (Any one with a baby knows this is way to unsafe ) They then gave someone else the same room as us and the person tried to enter our room in the middle of the night. Then we were locked out our room the next day. Lastly the coffee was awful and the food was dodgy.

Review 29：This hotel has gone massively downhill, it's now filthy, no hot water in the shower . I complained and had no reply from management / I neede to phone up 3times before someone replied to my complaint even then without satisfaction/ never again

Review 30：Cheaters, absolutely. After confirming the booking for a triple family room, when we turned up at night they refused us ANY ROOM, saying they were 'overbooked'. Then after a lot of hassle we were forced to sleep in a 14m square single room instead. I had to sleep on the floor, and they did not even provide any extra mattress, saying all were 'finished' The management and staff is all Pakistani and clearly they put racial discrimination above good business practice. Avoid even if the room is free!!!

Review 31：Nothing to like. The 'free wifi' had a wifi signal alright but no internet connection. Just a hoax. The 'included breakfast' was just plain toast and honey. Not even jam or butter or preserves!!! And when we complained to the manageress, (mehreen) she just said her shift was almost over and she would have nothing to do with it!!!

Review 32：The overall experience was bad. The wifi did not work and staff on duty didn't know how to get it working. The bath was fine if you are a dwarf but not much use otherwise. Breakfast was poor fruit juice, cornflakes - no choice, cheap yoghurt, fruit, cheap bread. It wasn't really a continental breakfast. Receptionist was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this hotel.

Review 33：Bedroom was pleasant and bed very comfortable. Dinner was good although it was a surprise to find the restaurant was an Indian.

Review 34：Only stayed for 2 nights mid week so here goes....payment up front butsuggest you holding back until you see your room as we payed but changedroom 3 times within the 1st hour of being there, smell of old standingwater in rooms and corridor, no remote for tv, dirty ac unit and poorroom cleaning, windows didnt open, wardrobe falling to bits, breakfastwas disgusting and hardly anything to choose from not worth the extracost as 2 cereals to choose from no rolls etc cold meats as such, wellcouple slices of something and couple slice cheese and mouldy fruit andtinned fruit salad and thats what they classed as a continentalbreakfast, lightbulds blown, shower knob broken, no bath plug, noheating what so ever and towel rail not working, dirty carpets and poorevening meal menu.... All in all this place needs a lot of money spenton it and by far better management and maintenance... Caters for Asiancustomers more so ( not a racist slur just the truth ) thank god wedidnt stay for weekend as Asian wedding of over 700 so noise would havebeen issue to.....

Review 36：TV hanging off the wall and wouldn't turn off, bath waste blocked,toilet roll holder pledged on wall fell off when first used. All reported to front desk, promised they would be attended to or I would be moved the following night. Guess what, neither statement was true. Continental breakfast was dire, walked out. Stayed here previously but this will be my last occasion.

Also a very poor breakfast where the waiting staff man handle food, presumably because they have had no training and get paid very little in wages.

Review 42：Breakfast was poor, service also poor in the breakfast room. The breakfast room was dark and a little depressing and also not well cared for, cleaned etc. Staff did not offer tea on arrival, often we had to request the basics for a meal, cutlery, plates/bowls, bread, butter, etc. etc. We get the impression the hotel is being built up/refurbished over time and breakfast spoilt the experience. We did ma`ke the receptionist aware of the issues when we checked out.

Review 43：Good room and shower. Obvious work has been done to upgrade this part of the facility. Rooms were clean and staff on reception were very polite and helpful.

Moved to a new room that looked nice but the mattress was awfuland I question the cleaning. Ordered a salad that confirmed how bad the quality is, did not eat and still charged after complaining

Review 58：We were going to a wedding nearby, so were allocated a room earlier than normal checkin. Reception called a taxi for us.she was very helpful.

Review 59：No plug in the sink or bathtub chewing gum left on the windowsill from previous guests traveller wedding on the Monday resulting in underage drinking and smoke alarm going off at 1am Tuesday. When the maids came the bed was not made, and bins not emptied with the old towels still on the bathroom floor and clean ones with toilet roll left on the bed, will never be booking here again!

Review 61：Disappointed not to stay in the beautiful old property pictured. The annex we were in was ok but decoration was awful. Carpets on stairs old and not stuck down. Paintwork terrible. Laminate flooring poorly finished. In the room thy hadn't bothered to paint behind the wardrobe which had since been moved, valances were dirty, toilet smelled like urine. We looked at another room but it was much the same - the newer rooms in the new bit looked better but were not big enough for our extra bed. The bed was not particularly comfortable, the fridge was unbearably noisy. The furntiture all looked cheap. The second night there was a party with loud music. We were told this would be finished by 11.30. I called at 11.40 and was told it was nearly finished. It wound up at midnight and there was loud talking til 2am. I tried to call reception on several occasions but no-one answered. Breakfast was very basic, no pastries, just toast and cereal with some tinned fruit and cheap yoghurts. Staff were friendly and keen to help but it was very clear that the hotel is an afterthought to their conference business. A real shame.

Review 65：The adminsitration and communications. I communicated my stay and what I needed which included cancelling one night and booking the following week. Somebody left me a very strong message stating literalli i left without paying the additional night and did not coimmunicate with them. This was 100% wrong and I did communicate and negociate my chnage with the lady at the reception at the time.

Review 69：There were broken and missing slats on the bed making it extremely uncomfortable. There was a lot of noise from outside as well as other guests on the laminate floor in the bedrooms. The breakfast was a joke - a dodgy toaster, happy shopper yoghurt and some grey shred dies with warm milk. The room was filthy; I stay in 50+ hotels a year and this was by far the worst. Avoid!!!

Review 74：It was the buffet breakfast (or lack of breakfast to be correct.) We went into the restaurant at 8:30 to find next to nothing left, when I commented on this I was told in broken english thats all there was, see pics. After we asked 3 times and others asked it was replenished but only begrudgingly. Sour pineapple, bread straight from the fridge etc. A couple who were also staying paid extra for a cooked breakfast and sent it back twice. It is my understanding some other guests (cyclists) had filled there bags with food, but this is no excuse for not looking after guests who had paid for bed and breakfast. Very poor service in the extreme.

I also left with a bad back as i was lying on metal springs for 2 nights.

Review 98：I booked a room for me and my two young children when booked I was suppose to have a small bed put in the room but I was told when turned up I will have to upgrade because it wouldn't fit in I was then given the wrong direction s to the room on the way I noticed that there had recently been new lama nite flooring laid but It has been over laid witch gave a nad finish so had the carpet on the stairs that wwhich wasn't fixed down properly aswell as the skirting boards It didn't really bother me at the time. I got in to room witch again on first looks appearance seemed nice but then I noticed a mdf table witch didn't at all fit in with decor the tv remote didn't work in less stood next to tv might be to do with it was room 15 s remote I later found the bedside light had no bulb we then had a look around the ground which I found many areas in bad order mess and bad maintenace I went to the restaurant looked at menu and had nothing for kids and didn't want to eat there twice as I was having breakfast there was a wedding on witch wasn't a problem until at all until the staff where cleaning up and made so much banging at 12 pm aswell as a guest repeatedly beeping his horn the morning came I did hhave a comfortable sleep and was up ready for the day wanted to give the kids a bath and found there was no plug to the bath or sink so picked the the phone up in the room to phone reception to find its not even plugged in and could not locate the sockets so used my mod to phone had no answer so we went down for breakfast and asked reception for a plug while we had breakfast as we were eating the cold breakfast witch wasn't great the manger was greeting guest so I called him over and told him my concerns I was offerd discount on my next stay but would I ???

Review 124：The room I had book was horrible, more than basic and the heater was not working. After several complains and at 4.50 pm I got upgrade to a double room renew. That room was perfect, so I understand that the there are huge differences depending the room you get.

Review 127：Great staff - very helpful. Hotel looks like it's just been refurbished and is very clean and modern in the rooms - lovely on-suite. The hotel maintains the historic charm of the main house in the communal areas which makes a pleasant contrast to the newer bedrooms. Breakfast was very good and included in the price.

Review 129：Staff were crowded in reception, shouting at each other in a foreign language. The room was tiny and extremely outdated, 10years old tv and the room urgently needs a new paint! Their card machine wasn't working so they decided to photocopy my credit card and keep a copy, WITHOUT my consent. I only saw it at check out the next day by the desk and recognised it. No apologies were made for it.

Review 131：Very cold and draughty, suite large but not deluxe and overpriced. Breakfast warm not that great, if you are going for special stay the deluxe suite not going to meet expectations. No TV reception in the room.

Review 132：Grounds and buildings quaint, booked the deluxe suite although big and bathroom nice not deluxe. Good for stop over for functions. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Review 133：A water running noise, that only started at night, Not there in the morning The thermostat indicated the room was at 27'c. Even though it was about 4'c outside. Took a bit to cool the room down

Review 137：On arrival asked if I could order coffee to be told 'no, the bar is shut'. The room was clean but had not been replenished with tea bags or toilet paper! They advertise an award winning Indian restaurant - but it was very mediocre and served on cold plates (I eat Indian food a minimum twice a week). Despite booking breakfast with reception, when I went down at 8.00 am they weren't expecting me and had cleared it all away.

Review 138：WLAN not reliable, several times router to Internet stopped working and also not WLAN access everywhere, especially not in restaurant, this especially where WLAN is required for business.
