Reviews for Old Etonian Hotel

Review 1:No heating or breakfast, and a very poor room, we were freezing and despite asking many times for this to be addressed it wasn't. As it was New Year's Eve we were informed on arrival there would be no breakfast and presented with a plate with two croissants and some baby bell, and were asked to pay upfront as no one would be about the next day. having heard good things about the resteraunt we were looking forward to a cooked breakfast on New Year's Day. The room was dated, noisy, cold and far from spotless.

Review 2:Lovely room, lovely view over the rooftops, great location. The staff were very pleasant and helpful (and I loved the KitKat with the tea and coffee tray).

Review 3:The picture on your website was not the Old Etonian Hotel!!!!Misrepresentation on your behalf. We did not have dedicated parking asour request and your acceptance, in fact the Hotel has no parking atall!!!!!! We will not use Booking .com again as we don't likebeing cheated!!

Review 4:Very friendly Staff and a nice well appointed room in the centre of h onthe h as we expected

Review 5:We stayed in room 8 and it was very warm, we were unable to turn down the heat but this was a small negative.

Review 6:Lovely clean and comfortable room, we arrived late in the evening and the staff were very accommodating

Review 7:More character restaurant with rooms than hotel, fab location, great staff, excellent food. Continental breakfast (with good variety) included in the price. Found this as most hotels in London were booked for the Rugby world cup, surprising how quick it was to get into central London. Will use it again out of choice rather than last chance saloon!

Review 8:Room was a bit disappointment: not very clean, too much odour on shampoos etc.,

Review 9:Excellent coffee, good atmosphere, nicely situated: historical surroundings, nice restaurant, friendly staff, great view

Review 10:Clean and comfortable room. Small shower-room but fine for a one-night stay. Friendly staff. Good location - I was at a function just a short walk away.

Review 11:If there was one thing it would be the size of the telly in the room

Review 12:Excellent welcome as soon as we got there, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast had a very Good selection

Review 13:We only stayed one night!

Review 14:The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was very clean. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. We have already booked our next stay!

Review 15:The picture you have advertising The Old Etonian Hotel is wrong. We spent ages looking for the Hotel in the picture to find out this was not the hotel. This was very misleading and very disappointing compared to the actual Hotel. I would strongly advise booking.com to change the photo to use the correct one for this Hotel. Parking was difficult and the rooms were very small and very basic facilities.

Review 16:It was located in a nice area and a bonus having an Italian restuarant next to it.

Review 17:Difficult to locate the picture on the website is not the building to look for, it looks nothing like this! Parking is very limited, not necessarily that close to the Hotel/Restaurant! May need to advise ethnic minority visitors that there is one nearby particular cafe they may encounter difficulty in gaining entry.

Review 18:Nice views around the area.

Review 19:The noise from the traffic was a problem but there is nothing can be done about that but the noise from the restaurant below until 2:30am was unacceptable with hotel guests above.

Review 20:The location was lovely - an oasis of peaceful charm so close to the city. Wonderful architecture, and a small town feel. The rooms were delightful; clean, comfortable and well appointed. Thoughtful finishing touches were provided too - a variety of snacks and drinks, plus lots of quirky additions, like the old rocking horse in our room. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we were impressed by the cost.

Review 21:That key code on the door at night. You cannot see the numbers as the street is so dim. Had to try over and over again. A very poor system.

Review 22:Overall good standards

Review 23:Despite being assured twice that the heating would be on overnight, it was not. Hotel staff only around when the restaurant is open. Breakfast looks good but items used over multiple days so not fresh.

Review 24:Safe area, good price and probably one of the better b&bs in the area.

Review 25:There is no parking, but you can walk from tube or train. No problem

Review 26:I stay here quite often at the moment and I like it very much. Staff are quiet but friendly. I also like the restaurant. It is walking distance to the hospital and the college.

Review 27:The atmosphere was homely and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and cosy and the breakfasts delicious. The restaurant meal was excellent and very good value for money. On the whole the hotel is an excellent situation, close enough to access the city but far enough away to leave it behind!

Review 28:Double glazing is old so bit noisy at night, easily remedied by earplugs

Review 29:Very friendly and kind, nothing's too much trouble. French restaurant amazing food well worth a try!! Clean and good selection of stuff in room. Excellent value for money for the location, price and what's on offer!

Review 30:Unlike on previous stays we were in a new wing in a minute bedroom on the second floor with quite precarious staircase leading to it. We will certainly visit again but rather not have this room!

Review 31:Friendliness of staff Fantastic food both in restaurant and bistro

Review 32:We were in a room in another building, which was really lovely, more like staying in a nice guest room than a hotel. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helped us with our special requests.

Review 33:Attention to detail needed on old fashioned windows with dead moths and flies in. Television so small had to move the unit to the end of the bed to watch it. Very small cold room on arrival with no heating on And Barely Any Room To Move Around In unless sitting on the bed

Review 34:Great selection of complimentary drinks and snacks in room. Very quiet location

Review 35:Requested twin beds, got a double. We were moved to another room but it was too cold so ended up in original room. Breakfast was obviously recycled from the last few days. Would not recommend this B&B. Not sure how this is rated an 8. So disappointed with Booking.com.

Review 36:Wi-fi was ok. We were able to keep our luggage there after checkout.

Review 37:We loved the location of the hotel and found the surrounding area delightful and extremely interesting too The staff were very helpful and friendly and very welcoming. We will most definately be staying in The Old Etonian again when visiting family in Harrow.Jennifer & Dave Liverpool.

Review 38:Cleaning staff very noisy when outside our room. Also lots of loud music from the restaurant mid afternoon.

Review 39:Restaurant staff were accomadating for our timings

Review 40:thin walls meant that I could hear the person snoring in the adjacent room. The wind was strong that night and the windows rattle on the landing.

Review 41:The location and the restaurant downstairs were excellent. I really enjoyed the picturesque location and the food was really well prepared.

Review 42:Hot water in the shower wasn't working but to be fair we didn't inform anyone. Had we told staff this could have been resolved

Review 43:Loved the staff and the customer service provided. Rooms were beautiful

Review 44:The walls were so thin I could hear the conversation next door plus the annoying snoring all night! It was like the person was in MY room :(. Bathroom was very small. The room needed refurbishment.

Review 45:Position of the hotel was good.

Review 46:Nothing really, check in a little difficult in with the diners and the waiters but it did not detract.

Review 47:Room and little extra comforts provided foc Location breakfast

Review 48:An enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a lovely area. The hotel was clean and tidy and had everything I needed. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. I would definitely stay again

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Location is great for hospitals and colleges. The restaurant is good and has a wide choice on the dinner menu. The breakfast is buffet, but with better selection than most.

Review 51:A bit pricey for what it is but I guess compared to other places is relatively good value. No double glazing though and it is located on a busy road so make sure you bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

Review 52:Friendly staff. Rooms were clean and adequate if all you are looking for is somewhere to sleep. Breakfast had enough variety.

Review 53:Roadside room was a little noisy due to passing traffic Some window fittings needed attention.

Review 54:Pleasant immediately helpful staff . Good continental breakfast and locally recommended restaurant. Excellent location .

Review 55:Not being able to smoke

Review 56:Decent location. Nice little hotel with decent facilities and a lovely view from the top of the hill. Comfy bed too. Staff we're friendly. I'd happily visit again.

Review 57:Nothing really. It's a good 3* B&B.

Review 58:Close - indeed amid - Harrow School. Excellent if you are visiting this establishment. On top of the Hill, so good views of NW Middlesex out to Northwood/Pinner, and west to Oxfordshire. Good restaurant under the B&B.

Review 59:There were problems with the wifi due to the storm, but the staff were very apologetic and kept us posted on repairs.

Review 60:We received a warm welcome and the staff were very accommodating. The breakfast was an awesome spread that really set us up for the day. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Harrow-on-the-Hill is a very pretty location.

Review 61:The room was not very clean, with dirty curtains and marks on the wall.It was also quite noisy with traffic all night.

Review 62:The hotel is in a peaceful part of London, like a village.and not too far from Harrow-On -The-Hill tube station.

Review 63:We had to telephone to gain entry into the hotel and was shown down a narrow staircase to our basement room which smelt very damp. It backed straight onto the street so was rather noisy. The shower screen had no seal so floor got soaked, we felt a bit closed in with no opening window and lots of condensation (probably the reasons why there was a damp smell)

Review 64:Location in centre of Harrow on the Hill was ideal for us visiting. The choices at breakfast were excellent. Comfortable beds. Our room was clean and nicely decorated.

Review 65:we liked everything so are unable to fill this box out.

Review 66:Room 12 at the top of the hotel was lovely. All the facilities that we needed. Staff were lovely. The room was clean and so comfortable. The choice at breakfast was extensive. We really enjoyed out stay and wished we had booked longer. It was perfect for the 2 of us.

Review 67:There is no parking adjacent. It is on the high street so some may find it noisy. I did not mind.

Review 68:The location is superb for the School and Northwick Park Hospital. All walking distance. There is a good local Fullers pub on the next road and plenty of choice for eating. The hotel has a very pleasant restaurant with lovely views.

Review 69:Nothing it was a lot better than I expected for the money.

Review 70:Room very clean, modern and tidy same with restaurant and bar. Staff were very friendly and is about 10-15 minute walk down to the town centre and train station. It's set in a very nice area too would most certainly recommend and great value for money.

Review 71:-

Review 72:Good comfortable rooms with nice view. Friendly staff, good wifi, good breakfast. Free street parking outside. 5 minutes walk to the underground, 30 minutes to central London. Good value for money compared to many rundown central London hotels.

Review 73:every thing was fine, but parking could be a bit of a problem finding a space on the nearby streets

Review 74:good sized room a bit quirky but ideal for 1 night or a couple of nights Restaurant downstairs was excellent eat in the Italian but the French one next door looked good as well Continental breakfast included and a good selection

Review 75:I can t think if anything I did nt like only wish we d used this hotel before!

Review 76:The location great for london tube 5 mins away and only 30 mins into centre no hassle. Lovely place easy to find from yorkshire, comfortable rooms lovely clean excellent breakfast, late check out brilliant! Really helpful staff we booked again for august! Would recommend to anyone wanting to commute into London but not be in the centre of everything nice to escape after a busy sightseeing day,

Review 77:Used to live close to 'hotel' eating many evenings at restaurant. Room spacious with lovely views to the west and very well appointed. Room however could do with some redecoration.

Review 78:- I thought I had booked a 3 * hotel as stated but in fact it is an ordinary B & B. - The reception is a table in the restaurant that was closed when I arrived. Another customer was waiting and we had to wait 20 minutes. - Not easy to find because the street names are not always mentioned. If luggage, better take the bus at Harrow station (228 & H17) because there are 15 minutes walk uphill. - Uncomfortable bed spring that shakes at the passage of certain vehicles. - Daylight in the room from 5am because store incomplete. - Sudden awakening at 9:20 am by the maid who wanted to make the room - Breakfast only until 9am on weekdays. -Wi-fi very slow

Review 79:Transport and shops 15 minutes walk away. Neighborhood and everything about food: the basket of drinks and biscuits in the room, breakfast and the restaurant menu.

Review 80:Excellent complimentary drinks/snacks selection in room. Continental breakfast choice was fantastic. Lovely big bed in a lovely big room.

Review 81:very kind hotel with the spanish stuff. breakfast was great, the room was clean. recommend for all.
