Reviews for Atlantic Hotel Rennes Centre Gare
Review 1:Unfriendly "boss". I requested a quiet room. I had a room on road side which was really bad as the traffic was constant through the night.
Review 2:Friendly. Night + week end receptionist.
Review 3:Tea/coffee making would be nice. Room a little small. Arm chair would be nice.
Review 4:Location very good. Next to station. Very helpful staff. Laundry 5 minutes away.
Review 5:I wanted a nice simple, cheapish, hotel close to the railway station and that's exactly what I got. Located about 100 metres from the station's nord station exit, to the left, the gable end signage was immediately visible. Reception was friendly and check-in swift. Room was basic, but immaculately clean and the WiFi worked perfectly. Breakfast was equally simple but more than adequate with croissants, pastries, breads and toasts along with the little packets of spreads and preserves. Good coffee machine from which you could top up as often as you like and the little smoking patio a definite plus for me. All-in-all, excellent value for money and good location not only for the station but for the city centre too.
Review 6:Minor really, poor lighting in bathroom for makeup. Just a sheet was required at night so the doona was a nuisance but no alternative.
Review 7:Location near the station, very helpful staff (even let me use the hotel computer!!) and cheerfully loaned me an electric jug to make coffee. The lift worked, something that did not happen in a much fancier hotel in Montpellier.
Review 8:We got a not very good looking room, however other rooms are really good looking. Neighbours easily heard in the corridor, only one croissant per person for a breakfast which is not included in the price. Reception not available 24/7. Everything however is justified by the affordable price of the room.
Review 9:Low price, basic amenities and tools available, location next to the station and city centre, nice simple breakfast.
Review 10:Very near the train and bus station, and a walking distance to the city centre. The staff was very friendly! Although she could not speak English, we still manage to communicate.
Review 11:I was travelling by car and upon my arrival there was no personnel at reception to give me directions where to park. In booking.com it was stated that reception should work during week days from 7:00 till 22:00. Breakfast costs EUR8 during week days. It doesnt offer any meat (ham or salami). Better alternatives can be found around. Despite booking.com's statement that hotel will not block any deposit, my credit card was pre-authorised 3 days in advance. After payment at reception, lady promised to un-block deposit but it didnt happen. I have to wait 30 days in order credit card deposit to be released automatically by credit card operator. These details are quite boring.
Review 12:One of hotel's advantages is lacation. It is close to Train station and to central part of the city. I received personal e-mail with some practicalities before my travel. I would say it is ballanced price-service-quality at least for France. I paid EUR98 for two nights without breakfast. For example, for this price in Germany one will receive more.
Review 13:Nothing
Review 14:So close to rail, restaurants and the wonderful city. Room was small but adequate. Price was good. Recomend, although it looks tired outside, inside was good
Review 15:The room was small. The bathroom cramped and the shower stall small.
Review 16:The price-value is excellent. The staff pleasant and polite. The proximity of the hotel for my activities (opera, movies) excellent.
Review 17:Very convenient for railway station, though a good 12 minutes walk to city proper. Helpful staff. Much better than it appeared to be from the outside. Nice breakfast. Good wi fi. Comfortable room.
Review 18:Location very scary, rooms smelled like smoke, noisy room, couldn't open window to scared and also to smelly from Asian restaurant kitchens!! I saw 2 drug deals and a prostitute transaction!!
Review 19:The breakfast was rather expensive (8 euros each/day), so we had breakfast at the station (E4, 60!). The bed was, for my taste, a bit hard.
Review 20:The Atlantic is very well positioned for the railway station and the bus station, both of which we used, to go to St Malo and Fougères. Both were well worth visiting, but especially Fougères, which is a delightful town with a lovely jardin public. The Rennais are very pleasant people indeed, very warm and chatty, ie quite different from the Parisians!
Review 21:Staff has no sufficient information about the sights nearby (or just language barriers..)
Review 22:Next to station, still silent, short walk to city center
Review 23:Fixed shower head.
Review 24:BBC World on TV and good breakfast
Review 25:Proximity to SNCF
Review 26:Not soundproof at all
Review 27:Very close to the train station
Review 28:my room cannot connect to the wifi
Review 29:staff is really nice, giving us much information location is great, really close to the train station
Review 30:The room was very basic and relatively expensive.
Review 31:The hotel is located just next to the train station and in walking distance to the city center.
Review 32:The room is too small.
Review 33:The location is very convenient.
Review 34:A little bit struggle with Wi-Fi connection.
Review 35:Good location and nice stuff.
Review 36:Good Location
Review 37:They disconnect the wifi on the morning I was supposed to check out. And I need to type my wifi password everytime I need to use internet.
Review 38:The location was perfect.
Review 39:Extremely handy for the railway station. Which was why I booked it. Checked in just after 14:00 without *any problems. Staff were good. 80 euros for 2 nights I suppose is par for the course.
Review 40:Bathroom was very small: the front of the toilet was very close to the wall and that space was occupied by a large commercial toilet paper dispenser. It was acceptable for me, but for a larger person, it could be a deal breaker.
Review 41:Excellent location for travelling because it is near the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived on an early train and were able to leave our bags while we took to bus to Mont St. Michel and back. The twin room we had was very good fit for my sister and I. Breakfast was mostly bread products (decent selection) and cereals with orange juice and coffee.
Review 42:The rooms are very small.
Review 43:The staff was very kind. Very good situation in the center of the town. Good breakfast and especial weekend discounts. Wifi works very well.
Review 44:nothing.
Review 45:The hotel was located straight in front of the train station and metro as well as very close to the main shopping centre Les Colombiers. Also free Wifi.
Review 46:Asked for a quiet room and got one on the main floor by the road which seemed to be the loudest.
Review 47:Really close to train station. Friendly greeting. Chain and table in room.
Review 48:the hotel reception is closed between midday and five (tricky if that's when you want to book in).Parking is some distance away.
Review 49:Staff very helpful and excellent value for money.
Review 50:The room was so small that I had difficulty to open the lugagge. I've never stayed in a room like that before. You hear the other guests walking in the room above and the bed was unconfortable too. The staff was kind but only some people speak english.
Review 51:The location near the train station, city center and supermarkets.
Review 52:There was a bit of noise from the streets, but nothing that wouldcompromise my stay.
Review 53:The employees were very friendly and attentive. The room was very small, but that was according to the site. It was very clean and tidy.
Review 54:I did not like the fact that there was a very small window, almost no light came in. Also, after checking out we could only leave our luggage at the front desk until 8 pm although our train didn't leave for another hour - I didn't understand why since the reception was open until 10 pm.
Review 55:The room and the bathroom were very clean, staff was ok. The breakfast was a buffet, quite varied and very satisfactory. Loved the large cup of coffee.
Review 56:The bed takes up most of the floor space, making easy access for bothpeople difficult.
Review 57:The room was very small, but exceptionally clean. Only French tvchannels. Good breakfast for €7.50 in a very clean, spacious sun roomexceptionally attentive staff. Great location close totrain/bus/metro/rental cars.
Review 58:It is small. The double bed takes up nearly all the room. No access to tea / coffee.
Review 59:We liked the position right near the train and bus station. Close enough to the tourist sites to walk. Value for money. Breakfast good.
Review 60:On the day of my arrival the office was close and I had to wait 4 hours to check into my room. I arrived at the hotel at 1pm sunday.
Review 61:Very friendly stafff.
Review 62:Maybe some room on the street with high traffic could bother light sleepers (but I am an heavy sleeper so I don't know).
Review 63:Good location for business travelers: up to 100 meters from the train, up to 200 meters from the suburb bus station. Very friendly reception. Keep your suitcase all day before your leaving in the evening. Very clean.
Review 64:The hotel is a little bit further away from the center, but if youwant to be close to the station its perfect. The triple room which wegot was a bit tight, but for the price and the free breakfast I wouldnot complain.
Review 65:Great value. The inclusive breakfast was a nice addition to the alreadycheap booking. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We missedour train and needed the internet to work things out and the staff wasvery pleasant and allowed us to use our computer in the breakfast roomeven though we had checked out. That was very kind. The hotel is reallyclose to the train/bus stations, which was just what we wanted (it canactually be seen from the exit of the station).
Review 66:We arrived on a Sunday only to discover that the hotel didn't open until 5 o'clock-- and it was around 2. So we had to wander around the city for a couple of hours with all of our luggage.
Review 67:The man working at the front desk was very friendly and helpful- when he didn't have the tea my friend wanted, he gave her the hot water for free! The room was actually well set up for three people, which is usually not the case.
Review 68:The room was small, 2 beds are put in there so there were no more space! The receptionist told me that there are no personel after 23h which isreally strange! The Breakfast is poor.
Review 69:Location ; it is 5 min away from the railway station, wifi is good, andthe room was clean. Good for one night stay.
Review 70:Wi-fi doesn't really cover the room. The senior staff didn't let us eatin the room on the main floor and said "too many people", though therewas no one other than, my wife, me & him. That's very disappointing.
Review 71:The room was clean enough, but a little bit small. There is a heater.
Review 72:Right across from the train station, and an easy walk to centretown.
Review 73:Bed was a bit old and soft! Very small room
Review 74:Location was great, rooms were clean
Review 75:/due to late train and early departure I did not get to see much of Rennes, but have heard others rave about it. Next trip.
Review 76:Dated but did the job!
Review 77:Located right next to rail station
Review 78:It is a kind of doya in japan, much worse that of youth hostel.
Review 79:Near the staion
Review 80:Clean, silent rooms. Pleasant staff.
Review 81:Mt. St Michel was not as good
Review 82:Lift Friendly staff Location
Review 83:Good location, on the railway station and 10 minutes from city centre. Wery good for budget travellers.
