Reviews for Buckley Farmhouse
Review 1:The shower was a bit of a squeeze and quite noisy. The sound of other guest's showers woke us up early then next morning. Such a shame as otherwise would have been perfect.
Review 2:Lovely picturesque location. Fantastic house and rooms. Made to feel at home.

Review 4:Lovely old farmhouse in a beautiful and very quiet location, but still convenient for restaurants, coast etc. Sue was a very friendly and helpful host.
Review 5:Welcoming and accommodating owners gave a great first impression. A warm and spacious room with very comfortable king bed, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower was spot on for attention to detail, cleanliness and was nicely appointed. I had read about wifi issues but found none -- I had a strong signal upstairs and down. Lots of choices for an egg-based breakfast. My family had poached, scrambled, and I had a full English. All delicious and presented with pride and a little country flair (a nod to the chef). Choice of fresh fruits, cereal and yoghurt offered plenty of alternatives for the non-egg/meat eaters. A spacious downstairs common area with comfortable armchairs and sofas and an open flame fire completed the welcoming feel. The owner provided glasses, an ice bucket and chilled a bottle of champers I brought along for a champagne toast for my wife's birthday. The perfect hosts and the perfect location for a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway.
Review 6:The room was cold and the central heating went off during the evening and with NO double glazing the room soon lost all its heat. The location was up narrow roads with passing places.
Review 7:The food was good.
Review 8:Our room was spotless, comfortable and spacious with stunning views and generous teamaking facilities including quality biscuits! Breakfast was delicious and Sue, our hostess, was friendly and welcoming. The house has a lovely atmosphere and we felt very 'at home' there. We have already recommended Buckley farmhouse to friends.
Review 9:Nothing really. I suppose if we were being picky the mattress was a bit hard & we woke up with backache
Review 10:Relaxing, Clean, Spacious, Welcoming, friendly, perfect!
Review 11:The comfort and space of the bedroom and bathroom. The crisp, spotless linen. The excellent breakfast with quality ingredients. Tea and coffee facilities in the room The peace and quiet of the location. The friendliness of our hosts and their enchanting puppy.
Review 12:beautiful location just a 2 mile drive from the seafront at Sidmouth. Very clean and cosy accommodation reached by some quaint although narrow country roads. Friendly hosts and an excellent cooked to order breakfast. Stayed for one night and wished it had been longer.
Review 13:Nothing, the experience could not have been better. Found nothing to make our stay anything but perfect.
Review 14:Everything was perfect, from the beautiful setting, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast to the nice china and superb friendly hosts who could not have done more to make our stay as lovely as it was.
Review 15:The heating wasn't adequate, although this didn't matter at the time we went because the weather was OK.
Review 16:Very quiet location off the beaten track; easy to get a good night's sleep.
Review 17:Excellent friendly hosts. Welcoming and helpful. Tranquil location. Spotlessly clean well equipped room with large double power shower Excellent full English breakfast with plentiful tea/coffee and toast. Recommended.
Review 18:Well situated for exploring sights Sue very friendly and helpful Room was spotless, well furnished and large Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space in the room Nice communal lounge leading to a terrace
Review 19:Nothing not to like . Separate private bathroom could be a neative but it is so big and lovely that you forgive that
Review 20:Everything is lovely the views quality of bathroom and bedroom. Breakfast was fabulous the crockery was really nice . Sue has great attention to detail and makes you so welcome I would definitely recommend for a tranquil peaceful rest
Review 21:Nothing
Review 22:the warmth and friendliness of our hosts, the beautiful countryside and views of the evening sky, the country manor feel of the farmhouse, the space for parking, the "full English", the lovely spaniel puppy!
Review 23:That I only had two nights there....would love to have stayed longer.
Review 24:John and Sue are excellent hosts, very welcoming, helpful and gracious. Breakfast was the best I've had during my weeks in England. Their home is immaculate, pleasantly decorated and set in peaceful Devon countryside.
Review 25:Large comfortable bedroom with good facilities and fantastic views. Very helpful, attentive host with an extremely pleasant manner. Everything well presented. High standards of cleanliness throughout.
Review 26:None really albeit the shower could have been more powerful.
Review 27:The location was a bit difficult at first to find but thereafter it was very good to access the areas we wanted to around the coast. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. Really enjoyed our couple of days.
Review 28:Good location, situated high above Sidmouth with lovely views back towards the town and sea. Relaxing location, nice walk down to the local pub. Good base to explore the area. Friendly owners, lovely accommodation and breakfast. Most welcoming.
Review 29:Beautiful farmhouse in enormous gardens with exquisite views. Owners very welcoming. Attention has been paid to every detail to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Review 30:Gorgeous find on the outskirts of Sidmouth. The hosts could not have been more helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. The place sits in stunning grounds with good views. Breakfast was superb. Fresh egg's from on site chickens and fried bread. We'll definitely be back
Review 31:Not applicable
Review 32:The attention to detail was second to none. Everything was spotless in the communal rooms and bedrooms and bathrooms. Garden perfect to sit in and chill out whilst taking the beautiful view in. Breakfast delicious and freshly cooked.
Review 33:We loved the farmhouse and it's views. The owners of the farm were warm and very friendly. However, I had to be careful of the roads leading to the farm as they were a little narrow.
Review 34:Hard to find anything not to like. Maybe sound proofing between rooms could have been better.
Review 35:Liked everything. Would have spent a long time here. In comfort. The welcome was warm and lovely, the rooms were very comfortable, clean and inviting, the food was amazing and the view was great. Perfect.
Review 36:B&B located up a very narrow and winding lane, slightly precarious to navigate! However, well worth it when we arrived at the B&B!
Review 37:Host was very hospitable, and made us feel relaxed. Room and environment extremely quiet with amazing views from downstairs sitting room and porch. Breakfast was great. Host accommodated our bicycles without trouble.
Review 38:Friendly greeting, cleaner than clean, comfortable bed and lovely room. Breakfast was perfect, anything you wanted in abundance and freshly cooked to order.
Review 39:There was nothing to dislike!
Review 40:A lovely warm welcome from Sue the proprietor.. The farmhouse has large beautifully furnished rooms and very comfortable king sized beds. The breakfasts are excellent. We will be back!
Review 41:The warmth and cheerfulness of the owners Sue & John, great breakfasts, spacious rooms, cleanliness, but most of all the idyllic and peaceful location.
Review 42:For the price the bathroom towels could have been bigger I had taken my own bath sheet anyway. I didn't like that you couldn't secure the room from the outside, no lock and only a lightweight hook closure on the inside - I am a single female traveller. I wouldn't have booked had I known as I have electric devices with me.
Review 43:The location on lovely and close to The Donkey Sanctuary where I was visiting however a bit too far to walk to a pub for dinner as it was along a narrow road (you are in the country). Bed was very comfy.
Review 44:It was an absolute pleasure to have stayed there. The room was huge and the landlords were so friendly and welcoming. I have already recommended to my friends and family the room views were excellent and the breakfast was so tasty.
Review 45:Set in beautiful Devon countryside - the property and hosts are outstanding. Thank you so much - we had a very relaxing break. A fantastic breakfast every morning - we enjoyed our break so much that we are planning to return to Buckley farmhouse in the Autumn. Thank you Sue and John.
Review 46:Our room was slightly smaller than expected and a little dark but still very comfortable and adequate for our stay.
Review 47:The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The owners very friendly and welcoming.
Review 48:We didn't realise our ensuite only had a bath with handheld shower attachment. If you prefer a shower cubicle perhaps a good idea to phone farmhouse before booking. I don't think the ensuite facilities were described fully on 'booking.com'.
Review 49:Clean, cosy farmhouse. Friendly hosts. delicious breakfast.
Review 50:Fantastic views, Very welcoming and accommodating Owners Fabulous Breakfast, especially all the gorgeous fruit! Very comfortable bed, very quiet location, super clean, and overall we were impressed. Thank you!
Review 51:The peace and tranquillity of the setting and the excellent breakfasts. The owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The bed was extremely comfortable; we shall return.
Review 52:The only thing was that we did not have a key for our room and could not lock it.....
Review 53:Every thing about .Buckley Farmhouse was awesome, our host were 100%, The view from our extra large room was out of this world and we loved the ducks and chickens walking freely round. Its must be wonderful in the summer.
Review 54:We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess. The room was lovely and very clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend. I shall be returning on my next visit.
Review 55:Sue and John were very welcoming. Our room was clean and very comfortable with a wonderful view of the countryside to the sea. The en-suite shower room/toilet was of a high standard. Excellent breakfasts.
Review 56:Nothing really, would of liked to walk to pub for dinner, but could not do this but only because it was so dark. Will be great in the summer.
Review 57:Lovely building, beautiful bedroom with large bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast to die for.
Review 58:Charming farmhouse in a beautiful location with cosy rooms and lovely hosts. I really recommend this b&b to anyone thinking of a nice little break away!
Review 59:Where the accomodation was beautiful surroundings and very quiet. Lovely hosts and the room we had at the front was excellent and the breakfast was very good. Would definitely return
Review 60:Extremely squeaky (metal framed) bed - this was the one and only thing letting down our visit. The bed squeaked every time one turned over or moved!
Review 61:Breakfast Warm reception Location Warm Cleanliness We would definitely return
Review 62:Nothing everything was perfect.
Review 63:Friendly greeting from our hostest on arrival.excellent room .excellent breakfast.peaceful surrounding and picturesque.
Review 64:At first thought it was a little isolated and too far from Sidmouth. However, having spent a morning in Sidmouth, a great place but parking in the main season would probably be a nightmare. To stay close by is a good idea because if you were staying for a few days you would wish to visit other places. So why be stuck in Sidmouth
Review 65:The kind welcome that we received. The comfortable lounge and the layout of the house. Really good English breakfast. Only now take these on special occasions. Even tried the fried bread. Great !
Review 66:A quiet and peaceful location with lovely countryside views. Yet near to main road for visiting all attractions. Owners very helpful with directions, local information etc.Their hens supplied tasty eggs for breakfast! Nearby Blue Bowl Inn great place for lunch/dinner or just a drink.
Review 67:Quiet location although only a mile from the main road. Lovely breakfast and spacious room. The owners are very friendly. I would fully recommend this B&B.
Review 68:A warm welcome from Sue, immaculate throughout, beautiful setting close to Sidbury and Sidmouth, would highly recommend, lovely rooms and wonderful breakfast
Review 69:Can't think of anything.
Review 70:The welcome greeting, how clean everywhere was, bedroom spotless, nicelarge bathroom. Would have preferred a shower, but I know to ask nexttime for a room with a shower. Breakfast was very nice. Once we got toknow the area, we could appreciate the position of the Farmhouse. Mustthank Sue and John for a most enjoyable stay. Ron Wood
Review 71:My partner and I had to visit the area on business. Finding the B & B was such a treat, we will be back for some leisurely weekends to enjoy walking the coast paths. Thank you Sue and John for your friendly hospitality. Paul and Steph.
Review 72:Just one complaint - we had an iron bedstead with iron springs which were very noisy every time you turned over. Sue and her husband did try to sort it out. Apart from that the bed was very comfortable.
Review 73:Everything was lovely, Countryside, view from our window, landlady, the breakfasts were very well cooked and well presented, in other words perfect. There were 4 baby ducks which had been hatched by a broody hen, and they thought she was their mother and followed her around everywhere.
Review 74:The farmhouse is set in lovely countryside with stunning views and in a peaceful location. The hosts were very friendly and looked after us very well.
Review 75:The peace and quiet for two whole days was what we just needed. The surroundings were beautiful. The beds very comfortable so sleep was assured. The hosts John and Sue could not have done more to make our stay more perfect. Thank you.
Review 76:The host are very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay.. The farmhouse is beautiful and very well kept..our whole stay was very pleasant.. Thank you
Review 77:Nothing, it was excellent.
Review 78:The surroundings were beautiful with breathtaking views. The accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hosts, Susan and John, were really friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were amazing. The chickens, ducklings and rabbits were the icing on the cake!
Review 79:Nothing to dislike but a car is definitely a must, although the local pub is walkable the lane is narrow but has passing places....
Review 80:Buckley farmhouse is a beautiful B & B in a fabulous setting, our hosts couldn't do enough for us from breakfast selection to local knowledge... Our room was perfect with everything you could want provided including hot chocolate which as a non tea/coffee drinker was very welcome... I would certainly visit again
Review 81:Very friendly welcome at this B&B, only stay the one night on way to collect someone from Exmouth and had a relaxing stay. Lovely breakfast good selection of cereal and fruit would had like to stay longer.
Review 82:Nothing really. Room would benefit from a visitors file of local information eg telephone numbers of emergency doctor dentist chemist places of interest recommended restaurants etc
Review 83:Excellent breakfast. Lovely old farmhouse set in two acres of open fields. Very peaceful away from any roads.
Review 84:As an animal lover I was not impressed with with the chicken coop - it was a rather dark room in an old stable without any sunshine. There were some ducklings that were kept in another part of the old stable and there was an lawnmower and a drippy bottle of motor oil in the same room with them.
Review 85:We stayed for three nights and we enjoyed our stay at Buckley Farm very much! Our room was very big and very tasteful. The bed was fantastic and the bathroom was nice. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very good.
Review 86:Largest room is not En-suite but has private bathroom dowm a few stairs - could be tricky at night. No single occupation rate.
Review 87:Location beautiful views Impressive Georgian farmhouse Good breakfast Friendly owners
Review 88:Everything was wonderful we had an amazing time and could'nt have been made more welcome. We will highly recommend Buckley Farmhouse to everyone. Ali and Russ Griffiths
Review 89:Sue & John (the owners) went out of their way to find us an open mechanic garage on a Saturday morning when we had car trouble the day we were due to come home. The house itself was very well maintained and decorated & the room/en suite was fabulous. Lovely views, & Sue & John knew the area and where to recommend, very well.
Review 90:The only negative we can think of is the wi-fi, which was limited in its range, but we came away to relax and get away from it all so not really a problem.
Review 91:Set in the heart of the countryside an excellent place to relax. The bedroom was very spacious with a good sized bathroom, both of which were immaculately clean. Very good breakfast. Friendly hosts who made us both feel welcome. The overall impression of the place was excellent.
Review 92:Private bathroom was not ensuite and at the top of the communal staircase.
Review 93:Friendly, immaculate, lovely big bed and room. Excellent breakfast served on quality china.
Review 94:Sue & John, ensured our stay was comfortable, with an excellent choice of breakfasts served with a smile. The attractive farm house was pleasantly situated with a seaview, and all amenities provided.
Review 95:It was a beautiful house very comfortable and the locality was very peaceful and quiet. Mr. & Mrs. Pratt we very welcoming and the food was excellent.
Review 96:We loved the beautiful, peaceful, rural location, the cleanliness of the en-suite room, the hospitality and the breakfast. We had the best sleep ever and would definitely recommend this place to friends
Review 97:Nothing.
Review 98:Everything was tastefully and thoughtfully done. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection and was lovely. Shame we couldn't have stayed longer!
Review 99:Secluded peaceful location with great views yet easily accessible to Sidmouth and main Honiton-Exeter road. Idyllic character Georgian farmhouse with updated decor, large rooms and contemporary en-suite. Perfect bedding: crisp, clean, fresh, on king-sized double bed. Friendly yet experienced hosts - healthy breakfasts cooked to our requests. Happy to find wifi details provided in room and worked straight-away. Flat-screen freeview TV with radio
Review 100:The bed sagged in the middle so we were rolling into each other! The headboard was loose and moisy - this was fixed immediately on the next morning.
Review 101:Lovely location, very friendly owners, beautiful house.
Review 102:My daughter and son in law said that the large bedroom was beautiful, with stunning views to the front of the property. The service was excellent and everyone was so kind and friendly. They said it was wonderful to spend their wedding night there. They would highly recommend Buckley Farm every time - thank you to all concerned
Review 103:Beautiful location in the countryside to the rear of Sidmouth. Quiet and restful. Hotel owners very welcoming and helpful. Large clean bedroom well equipped. Breakfast excellent and fresh cooked.
Review 104:Absolutely nothing
Review 105:Our stay at this farm house was exceptional. We had very enjoyable breakfasts with a huge amount of choice, an excellent bedroom that was spotless and very comfortable and wonderful hosts who did everything to make our stay a positive experience. The location was superb as it was so quiet but also a short drive to the nearest town. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it to potential guests.
Review 106:Nothing to dislike.
Review 107:Comfortable, clean and spacious bedroom and bathroom. Very good breakfast of fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, etc. and perfect full english, beautifully cooked. Very pleasant and friendly hosts. Lovely farmhouse and gardens.
Review 108:The Farmhouse is located in lovely countryside and yet has easy reach of Sidmouth. In only a short stay for B&B, wildlife including buzzards, deer and rabbits were seen and the firework display in Sidmouth was just visible. The room was large and the bed was at least super-king. The breakfast was English or as required. Very friendly.
Review 109:Buckley Farm exceeded our expectations. Lovely large en suite bathroom; great views over surrounding countryside with sea in distance. Good English breakfast. Sue and John were pleasant and accommodating hosts. Thank you.
Review 110:Only tiny grumble was a very noisy bed - needs oiling or something!
Review 111:Comfortable and welcoming. And a very peaceful location. Lovely gardens and patio.
