Reviews for The Country Park Inn and Lodge

Review 1:The fact that there wasn't anything on for new years eve unless we paid another £28.50 each for the party. Which I thought was horrendous as every other time we have stayed at an hotel for new years eve there has been entertainment included - so we had to pay for the room but didn't stay there, we came home

Review 2:The staff were fine, the food not too bad

Review 3:Pleasant staff, comfy warm room and being in the Lodge it was nice and quiet. Meal in the restaurant was very good and the ambience was nice. In the summer the location would be quite stunning.

Review 4:Nothing- except some might be bothered that there's no food/Restaurant inside the accommodation as it's a 45 sec walk away.

Review 5:The location is lovely, directly under the Hessel side of the Humber bridge, hidden away perfect for a walk or a cycle right next to the country park. The Restaurant is Beautiful and the food was very good.

Review 6:No wifi although we were warned of this and mobile data signal good.

Review 7:Location fabulous by the river and Humber Bridge.Good walks by river and in Country Park.Accomodation clean and comfortable. No breakfast with accommodation but pub offered good if limited breakfast menu from 9.30am.

Review 8:No Wifi, No Heating, Toilet door did not close, lack of towels, drag strip for motorbikes and cars outside the window, Fireworks being let off outside the window, No Telephone in room to call reception. No Staff when checking in/Out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Review 9:Opposite the humber bridge, really nice view.

Review 10:Staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived to find our room was double booked but it was sorted out within 5 minutes and another hotel round the corner booked for us.

Review 11:Breakfast not served until 9.30 Room not in the hotel but in neighbouring building 100m from hotel I ordered a drink at the bar and was told the bar closed soon (10.25pm) Was initially not told where my room was. Reception closed upon arrival

Review 12:Good view of Humber Bridge

Review 13:the shower from upstairs leaked into ours, I think through the light fitting, so didn't have a shower in the morning as I didn't want to turn on the light!

Review 14:The location as it was private

Review 15:There appears to be a problem with boy racers on the access road every night. This can be annoying if you are a light sleeper like me. There were quite a few flies in the restaurant which wasn't very pleasant while you are tucking into a lovely mixed grill.

Review 16:Great location right next to the river and below the Humber Bridge. The Country Park Inn serves good food and the staff are very pleasant. There is free WiFi in the restaurant but not in the Lodge.

Review 17:Staff didn't acknowledge my presence. Mould around shower tray in bathroom. Breakfast - poor choice, not available until 09:30.

Review 18:Generally clean and tidy.

Review 19:Noise from being next to entrance. The room smelt. Couldn't open a window as on ground floor next to entrance and even I could have climbed through it.

Review 20:Clean Bed comfortable Pretty surroundings

Review 21:Requested a fan but staff were unable to locate one for us, it was very hot in the room , even with the windows open.

Review 22:Liked the location right on the River Humber.

Review 23:I was in room 1, which was fine. However, during my stay, there was a big gap along the seal of the lower half of the door, which if not remedied would cause a major draft once the whether gets colder. At this time of year, it is not a problem, but it needs attention.

Review 24:Although breakfast was not included, it was not a problem. The menu at the Inn had a good variety of vegetarian meals. The 5 bean chili was excellent. The location is excellent, and I was able to enjoy the path along the Humber before sunset.

Review 25:1) Slightly dated decor but not a major issue for a one night stay. 2) Unpleasant odour at times, but possibly from the river so not a lot could be done about that.

Review 26:1) Friendly, flexible staff. 2) Easy to find. 3) Good location. 4) Very good value for money.

Review 27:Breakfast not served in the restaurant. No refrigerator in rooms.

Review 28:We liked the price. Not a great location if you don't have a vehicle as there is no where close by for breakfast.

Review 29:Strong damp musty smell in bedroom. Cold room, not able to adjust the heat. Room looked dated.

Review 30:Coffee making facilities, friendly staff. Food in restaurant was good with plenty of choice and reasonably priced.

Review 31:Very strong smell of damp and drains. Invaded by ants when I attemped to open the Windows to get rid of the stench. The window sill wood was rotten. I was in room 4. what must foreign visitors think ??

Review 32:Views Bar and meal

Review 33:The mattress on my bed wasn't very comfortable. The second bed was fine for my daughter.

Review 34:The convenience of the Lodge and Restaurant to the Humber Bridge 24hr race.

Review 35:Damp smelly room and waking up at 5.00 in the morning to find Niagra falls in the bathroom and my bedroom floor wringing wet ! I

Review 36:Leaving this damp water logged festering dump ..

Review 37:The building and room were a little tired. Bathroom in need of upgrading and a good clean.

Review 38:It was brilliantly placed and had great outlook. Staff friendly and food OK.

Review 39:No breakfast available until after 9am. Youths on motorbikes racing up and down the access road until well after midnight spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay. No Wifi (Business trip)

Review 40:Great location on the waterside with fantastic views of the bridge. Room was good size and clean.

Review 41:I stayed in Room 3. Overall the room looked clean so no issue with that but there was a horrible smell when I walked into the room. It smelt like sewage, not sure if there was a problem in the bathroom but it wasn't pleasant. I did report it to staff who said they would look into it.

Review 42:It's a good location by the river. The Humber Bridge is more or less over the top of the building but I was surprised how little traffic noise there was. Staff were nice and friendly.

Review 43:The double glazed windows in my room were 'shot' and hence lots of moisture inside the glass. Not nice as well as ruining what was probably a lovely view! Room slightly dated and would have preferred NOT to have had a shower curtain. Also I would have liked the option of a breakfast.

Review 44:Location on the foreshore. Price

Review 45:Was awoken at 4.30 am by neighbouring resident putting tv on and moving about their room. I am not a light sleeper. The noise was due to very thin walls. If your sleep is disturbed it is not value for money.

Review 46:The location is lovely. Having a bar on site that serves food is very handy.

Review 47:No breakfast facilities. A little tired in places. E.g Peeling paintwork outside.

Review 48:Clean comfortable. Good tea and coffee facilities. Powerful shower. Peaceful.

Review 49:Breakfast not available on site. Bike store, as advertised, was available but due to a wedding would of had to have been vacated before 9.00am the following morning.

Review 50:Location and price were perfect, staff very helpful.

Review 51:The bed was very uncomfortable and the door to room no 1 would not shut properly. Windows need replacing as they were rotten and would not open and shut very easily.

Review 52:Friendly staff and good location.

Review 53:Dated, worn and seen better days. Mattress was abysmal, springs had gone and had to ask to move room. The room also had an awful damp smell which made the stay unpleasant. Also very noisy with the A63 running virtually overhead. Windows old and covered on condensation

Review 54:Nice location, next to some great walks in the woods and next to the river. Pleasant terrace overlooking the river which is a sun hotspot.

Review 55:The only negative is they don't do breakfast but we found a Toby carvery nearby.

Review 56:We paid about £39 for a double room and it was such a bargain! The location is fabulous, right on a "beach" under the humber bridge (but quiet). Fabulous bar/restaurant on site and you can sit outside on the waters edge. Room was far better than I could have imagined, clean and light and airy. Super location if you want a stop off and have to pass over Humber bridge.

Review 57:Me and my partner throughly enjoyed our stay amazing views of the number bridge pub was nice food was excellent what more could you ask very happy had loverly time

Review 58:We looked at menu online before our visit and we had decided what we were going to eat. However when we saw menu it wasn't the same one so neither the starter or main course was available. However what we did have was nice.

Review 59:Friendly staff, lovely location at side of the Humber estuary.

Review 60:Location under the Humber Bridge & adjascent to the Country Park lends itself to some lovely walks. The Inn serves adequate food, and with outside seating having lovely views of the bridge, makes for a pleasant stay.

Review 61:traffic noise directly under Humber Bridge, thin walls, tiny bathroom. No breakfast possible.

Review 62:clean comfy bedding, nice views of Humber and Hessle foreshore. Tatty shower but powerful and plenty of hot water

Review 63:In my opinion, there's nothing to complain about here. Excellent value for money.

Review 64:Stayed here several times. Homely, comfortable, great location. Good food in the bar, friendly staff.

Review 65:Small annexe for accommodation next to the pub which was very popular for meals. Good for local walks. Surprisingly good bedroom with small shower. No Breakfast is supplied in pub. Check in was efficient and friendly. No noise at night as car park is locked.

Review 66:One member of reception staff not very helpful on checking in No shower in room, only bath and water running very slow, took 20 mins to fill bath Noise outside - cars/motor bikes screaching up and down the road in front of hotel and on land at the side of hotel up to around 10 30. Hotel member of staff should have contacted the police as this was dangerous to public and very noisy. I

Review 67:Comfortable spacious room Tea/coffee & biscuits Comfortable bar/restaurant

Review 68:First room door would not lock, moved to another room. Then moved back. Finally moved to a third room which had ants and woodlice in it. Cleaner sprayed and ants diminished. Single room very Spartan.

Review 69:The staff at the Inn were very good, polite and helpful, a credit to the company.

Review 70:Only down side was noise from traffic on bridge and A63 behind lodge - (much reduced with windows closed, but might be problem in summer if you wanted them open at night)

Review 71:Friendly staff, spotless room/towels &sheets, comfortable enough bed, good location very close to center and main routes out of Hull. situated in country park, nice for running/walking

Review 72:Slightly dated but forgivable given the price. Windows were covered with nets which was a shame because the view out the window was brilliant!

Review 73:Cheap rate which was great, convenient location and easy route into the city

Review 74:No breakfast was a pain as we had to bring our own and camp out in the room to eat it. Toilet had a bad drain smell. Double glazed windows need replacing and there was no TV controller

Review 75:Fabulous location near the Humber Bridge which I discovered is longer and higher than the Golden Gate. Dinner was great and cheap sitting in the lovely bar area looking at the bridge. It was cheap cheap cheap.

Review 76:The room had recently being painted and the fumes was very strong when me and my partner stayed I had a very bad headache after awhile and there was ants in the room aswel which I wasn't impressed with at all I WONT BE STAYING THERE AGAIN

Review 77:no wardrobe or chest of drawers in one of the rooms noisy guests road noise no heat in one of the bathrooms

Review 78:the better room friendly receptionist good tea and coffee making facility good food in bar

Review 79:If hadn't had my partner with me I couldn't have gone to get food, leaving the baby alone.

Review 80:Clean and simple, very warm and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Cot bed available too

Review 81:First class stay great walks along the river easy access to the park and ride .Pub very modern great views of the river from it. We will be back for certain thanks .

Review 82:After 13 hours at work I go in the bathroom to get a shower and the shower is full of towels, the bins are full and the bathroom wasn't clean at all. Immediately requested a refund a had to located other accommodation.

Review 83:Have stayed several times. On one visit staff gave out information regarding our car.. Someone rang requesting to know if it was in car park and receptionist told them it was. . Gross invasion of privacy.

Review 84:Helpful staff and flexibility with regard to checking in times

Review 85:The lodge is a little old and dated 80's, if your a light sleeper this would not be the ideal place to stay, you can hear all-sorts of noises plumbing, foot steps etc at night. No Wi-Fi in the lodge you need to go to the restaurant for a signal

Review 86:Great value for money and location right next to the Humber and almost under the bridge, 15 Mins from Hull. The Restaurant attached sereved good food day and night.

Review 87:There was some traffic noise as it is literally right under the Humber Bridge and close to the M62. However it wasn't enough to put me off staying again. I arrived in the dark and didn't find it easily. There is a sign which tells you it's 500 yards ahead but then next to the rescue station there are signs saying no entry etc so it was a bit confusing. In the daylight however that may not be an issue. There was no shower in my room. Just a bath. It did have a shower head attachment on the tap which I used as a makeshift shower and it actually wasn't too bad as it was quite powerful. Again, not bad enough to put me off staying again. The bed wasn't the most comfortable one I've slept in. Quite soft and creaky springs. This is maybe a matter of personal taste though.

Review 88:This hotel is ideally placed for working in Hull. The meal in the restaurant was really lovely. The price was excellent value for money. Sounds like a silly little thing but there was an electrical socket next to the bed which was ideal for phone charging overnight and using laptop. Hardly any hotels have this!

Review 89:This hotel could be so much more. A bit of investment in the bathrooms - better heating better shower - or extend the accommodation block to allow bigger rooms and open up for breakfast and they could easily double the room tarrif. They'd increase the target market also, i think.

Review 90:Cheap, great views and good evening meal.

Review 91:The rooms were very dated, not very clean The deco was old and tatty, wallpaper not stuck down, carpet was old dirty and thread bare, The bathroom was grotty, the extractor fan never worked, the grouting in floor tiles was grubby and grotty, the shower tray filled up as u was showering, the toilet made was awful to flush and very noisey. The front main door didnt lock, we reported this few times but still never got repaired, i emailed with out complaints on day one but im still awaiting a reply!! We felt like we was in a hostel not a hotel, awful place! nevet again!

Review 92:the food in pub was very nice, staff were friendy and view was lovely

Review 93:The noise at night from a very busy road to the rear of the hotel was quite loud and kept me awake through the night. Guests who needed to go outside for a cigerette congregated outside my bedroom window which also kept me awake.

Review 94:The location was great, we were in the area for a family funeral and the service with regad to the wake was very good.

Review 95:The only criticism would be the restaurant could be made more country pub like , but bland

Review 96:The water sounds from the Humber , the comfy bed, lovely en suite

Review 97:The accommodation is in a separate building across the car park (motel style). It is a bit tired looking. Not a 'hotel' experience, but ok if just need a bed for the night.

Review 98:Warm and comfortable room. Very pleasant staff. Busy restaurant. Very cheap rate, and ideal if you just need a clean comfy bed in the area for a night or two.

Review 99:would like a brakfast opption instead of travelling out of hotel to cafe. Impending price increases

Review 100:friendly staff. clean rooms basic but adequate

Review 101:The shower ran out of hot water on the first morning of our stay. The mattress on one of the twin beds was lumpy and uncomfortable. The sound of other residents walking around above us (we were on the ground floor) and the sound of water usage (toilets, showers etc).

Review 102:Spectacular views of the Humber. Very low cost - the cheapest available at the time of booking.

Review 103:MANAGER NOT INTERESTED IN COMPLAINT Left after only one night Manager gave me cash refund Screws through top of bedside table holding it together Broken toilet roll holder Shower broken - unable to use Tiles need grouting/rusty bathroom fitment

Review 104:Small room, beds have springs which are a little uncomfortable, no breakfast on site so used the local supermarket cafe

Review 105:Location is good. The bar and restaurant are great, parking is great. Good price.

Review 106:Awful uncomfy bed, with springs poking through. Damp room, fire alarm goes off if you shower. Small rooms, smelt musty. Badly in need of refurbishment. Would not return, even for the cheap price. Broken beer bottles outside entrance - says it all really.

Review 107:Easy accessible and convenient location. Good tea/coffee making facilities

Review 108:No hot water problem with boiler but did not detract from stay

Review 109:Food was fantastic really enjoyed stay. Would have liked breakfast but nonetheless had a great stay.

Review 110:Tiny bathroom, functional but very little room, had to leave bathroom to get dry after shower.

Review 111:Great location, staff very helpful & polite, room spotless & cleaner came in every day with clean towels, restocked tea, coffee & biscuits. On site restaurant & pub good & not expensive. Had a great weekend.

Review 112:Car park in front of the annex could probably be a bit better lit at night. The river being so brown and dirty - why is that so?? - not good for fishing, which is why we stayed at this hotel. That detracts from all the positive factors in the other half of my review.

Review 113:Accommodation separate from the main building, easy to come and go as you please. Lovely clean room, quiet, therefore easy to get to sleep. Plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits in room. Excellent, atmospheric location, right on the Hessle Foreshore a stone's throw from the Humber Bridge. Well located for main roads into Hull and other destinations.

Review 114:Further from Hull than you might think; no wifi (except in the separate pub building); breakfast not available.

Review 115:Stunning and unusual location right by the Humber, great view of the bridge. Cosy room at a great price.

Review 116:We liked location, the food, the pleasant, helpful staff, especially the lady who contacted me by phone and ensured I had enough accommodation for my extended family.

Review 117:Nothing.

Review 118:On the first night my sleep was disturbed by some noisy pipes. The hotel gave me a full refund for that night and apologised and by the next night it was fixed. Lovely staff, great customer service.

Review 119:The room was clean and beds comfy but the carpet and fittings were a little tired

Review 120:The location was good the view was great the food was and service in the bar was good

Review 121:This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I stayed in the lodge the door to my room was the door to outside which was fine apart from the fact it didn't lock!!!! At midnight there were cars with loud exhausts , hornes honked and lots of male shouting which left me feeling very at risk with no lock on the door. The room was dirty and in the corners were spiders with nests and webs. The window frames were so rotten when I opened the window the wood fell.

Review 122:The bed was comfortable.

Review 123:Nothink in perticular.

Review 124:I've stayed here twice and was the best value for money I've ever spent on a hotel.I have to recommend there fish friday amazing and potions are unberliverble.and is so cheap.and the locationn is great.right on the beach.going back next month.

Review 125:My only fault wasn't enought milk sugar and coffee in the rooms

Review 126:I liked the fact we were quickly seen to and asked if any more requirements needed, shown promptly to were we were staying without been pestered quality clean rooms all round fantastic

Review 127:no breakfast but this we knew on booking & provided our own

Review 128:location overlooking river close to Humber bridge. Good food in main building. staff very helpful. quiet spot would go again

Review 129:bar didn't sell carling

Review 130:value for money clean accommodation friendly staff restaurant and bar within the grounds directly under the humber bridge idyllic setting just lovely.

Review 131:The room smelled musty and wasn't very clean. There were spiders in the bathroom and dusty webs. Very poor bathroom facilities.

Review 132:The pub and restaurant were very good. Staff (Michelle especially) were excellent. The beds were comfy.

Review 133:Booked one night and then a second. When we turned up they had us in room 3 and then wanted us to check out by 11am and come back after 3pm to book into room 5 the following day. I explained we werent happy to do that and common sense finally prevailed.

Review 134:Location

Review 135:Only a minor but Noise from the road adjacent, I do not think it would be to costly to upgrade windows to rectify this otherwise top place

Review 136:Loved the location Comfy Room Facilities for a brew Comfortable bed nice shower good value for money will come back here when i come back to Hull Staff very friendly and a credit to the hotel

Review 137:Nothing

Review 138:The food served in the restaurant was excellent and great value for money. The accomodation was basic but comfortable and clean. Already booking a return trip.

Review 139:Service was not great we had to even ask how to get to the rooms after being given the key. The room need some TLC they are clean but need decorating and our bathroom door didn't shut properl

Review 140:Great location beautiful surroundings. Nice pub for lunch and dinner
