Reviews for Hôtel La Plage
Review 1:Too far to walk into St Maxime , hence price of stay . Free parking available on coast road near town approx 1k walk .
Review 2:Location to beach - across the road . Free parking . Value for money . Modern , clean .
Review 3:I'm happy with the hotel and many people stay there just to go to the beach every day. For me if I wanted to stay at a beach hotel i would not want to cross the highway. In order to keep the noise down the patios have a garage door type of thing. It keeps the noise and sun out. It works well but no chance of hearing the ocean. First floor patio can not see the beach. Also this hotel is not in any town so you will need a car or bus to get around. However as a convent clean place it's nice.
Review 4:The hotel is across the street from a beach. They have breakfast in the main hotel, parking on the property and a restaurant across the street. Room was clean, modern, safe, fridge, TV. We only spent one night but the front desk staff were very helpful recommending how to get to saint tropez. We chose to drive to and park in town and ferry to stains tropez. The ferry ride was nice as you can see all the yachts.
Review 5:We went to the beach 2 days and both days the staff did not give us towels. we asked a member of staff and he disappeared and never came back. when we checked out we had been charged both days for the beach.
Review 6:The room was very spacious and clean.
Review 7:Rooms a little small but this is France and that's generally what you get.
Review 8:The private beach only across the road and a public beach no more than 5 minutes walk away. A nice terrace if you have a garden view room
Review 9:1. Immediate access to the beach club across the street from the hotel (rent chairs and enjoy the lunch)! 2. The on site person - "Karhy@ was very nice and extremely helpful!!
Review 10:Very close to a noisey main road but lovely beaches the other side of it !!
Review 11:Smallish modern very up to date Hotel with all the mod cons you wish were available in all hotels, very clean, helpful staff, lovely views and good location.
Review 12:nothing bad in particular, we enjoyed the stay
Review 13:- very nice, polite and helpful reception - if you have a car it is a best place to stay. Place is very good, very clean and quiet with a nice public beach just across the road. After busy day and nightlife in St Maxime or St Tropez nothing is disturbing a good sleep (no loud bars around) and morning is normally very chilling. Lots of good beach clubs around. Just 3 mins to drive to St Maxime harbor and around 15-20 mins to St Tropez. - fast internet - breakfast is just a normal one (eggs, ham, yogurts, pastries, cakes) - very clean rooms and hotel itself - free secure parking on site
Review 14:Quite a small room.We were charged for a parasol on the little beach. Would be nice if that was included for the hotel guests
Review 15:Location, views, good air conditioning, clean and comfortable
Review 16:Thé only weakness of thé hôtel is that thé walls separating rooms are very thin. thus wë can hear thé other clients..
Review 17:The hôtel is well -located, just in front of thé sea. We liked thé modern decoration, thé room is small and simple, still clean and comfortable. Thé bathroom was great!! Thé employées were very nice. Good breakfast too.
Review 18:View from second level amazing and beach access made the stay. Professional staff made us feel welcome. Always a smile and advice even though we did not speak French or attempt. Oh did I mention the rooms, bedding, and towels are top quality.
Review 19:Breakfast a little costly so we ate elsewhere
Review 20:Loved the sea view from our balcony. Spotless room and bathroom. Small but adequate size room. Staff were very welcoming.
Review 21:A pity the beach restaurant was only open at lunchtime. Location a problem without a car. We chose it because of its proximity to where our son lives. We knew it was out of Ste Maxine but didn't anticipate difficulty of getting food in the evening at start of October. Other beach restaurants were open but VERY expensive
Review 22:Very friendly staff, good breakfast, enjoyed the Beach club
Review 23:The room was quite small and the disadvantage to the location is that it is quite noisy. We were there the first week in September and the restaurant was not open during our stay. The beach opposite which was linked to the hotel was small and not very sandy. I was charged for a day that we hadn't had at the beach but was refunded as soon as this was pointed out to the management, they did have a slip from the people at the beach saying we were there which was concerning. The parking lot is small and difficult to manoeuver if you have a large car.
Review 24:It's situation gives it a great view of the sea we saw some wonderful sunrises and it's near to some very romantic restaurants. The staff were very pleasant.
Review 25:Location is great for the beach, but is 45 min walk out of Saint Maxime so you are limited to places to eat and drink. The attached beach bar is very good but very expensive.
Review 26:We had a first floor room which had a great view over the sea...recommend this over the ground floor rooms. Excellent staff who were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice.
Review 27:We went to the hotel beach and we didn't know that a staff has to come and show us the sun beds where we are allowed to sit, so after 3 hours a guy called Adrian just came to us and said that we where not allowed there and he is the only one who decide who's staying or not and where will be seated! I think it's the guest choosing the hotel not the staff choosing his guests!
Review 28:Everything was excellent! If you are going to Saint Maxime, you should choose La Plage hotel.
Review 29:Almost no sea view from ground floor because of bushes. Same room price for 1 or 2 people.
Review 30:The staff could not be more helpful, better than in many 4, 5 star hotels, especially Stephanie and Christiane! They answer all questions with a smile. They helped us with great dinner reservations. The rooms are cleaned daily. Mario Plage is also very good and just a few steps from the hotel.
Review 31:We had no complaints
Review 32:The hotel is just across the road from a very nice beach, the stuff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice sea view from the balcony!
Review 33:The spot light on the television while the TV set is off bothers at night
Review 34:The friendliness of all employees, the location is superb and the beach restaurant is a great place with amazing food
Review 35:The lady at the reception is very helpful. Our room is small but has a very nice seaview. Breakfast is very good value for money. Though the hotel is slightly away from Saint-Maxime, the beach is just across the road, and nearby is the restaurant Le WYC which serve very good food!
Review 36:The hotel is far away from the centre of the Saint Maxim. You have to use bus, cous' walking in the sun for almost an hour was too much for us.
Review 37:The room is very comfortable and clean. The balcony is wonderful and welcome. The crew are very helpful and nice.
Review 38:Maybe we could have enjoyed some larger room but after all we´ve got nothing to complain
Review 39:Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 40:The staff was so helpful and sweet. The location is great and the room very nice! Would love to go back!
Review 41:Service
Review 42:Nowhere to buy a coffee after breakfast
Review 43:The room was excellent with a lovely terrace and a Sea view
Review 44:the proximity to the beach and Ste Maxime town
Review 45:Location and sea view is amazing!
Review 46:Breakfast could stay on a bit longer, it is a small hotel offering only breakfast
Review 47:WiFi was not strong enough for the room
Review 48:Proximity to the beach
Review 49:Poor wifi
Review 50:Location, friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast, newspapers available
Review 51:Very small room with even smaller balcony. Room cleaned very late in the afternoon
Review 52:Nice location by the sea. Friendly receptionists. Good breakfast.
Review 53:Aircon...we had to open the window at night to make the room cooler.
Review 54:nice room with big mirrors, first flow has a nice view of the sea.
Review 55:Very nice hotel on the beach. The staff was very helpful. The room is big and clean.
Review 56:The magnificent view from the balcony, the facilities at the beach across the road.
Review 57:Excellent location. Good to have car parking. Would have liked to try their own restaurant on sea front but too early in the season to be open.
Review 58:Excellent location! Very friendly and helpful personnel.
Review 59:A little remote from shops etc; room wasn't ready when arrived bang-on first opening time.
Review 60:Great location, good room, good value
Review 61:Good WIFI, nice private parking, very beautiful view. Excellent and very helpful stuff.
Review 62:Nothing
Review 63:Service,location and cleanliness
Review 64:Location was quiet and easy to find. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful.
Review 65:A walk to the beach.
Review 66:Clean, comfortable room. Restaurant across from the hotel has very good food.
Review 67:wonderfull place!
Review 68:A bitt off St. Maxime center, about 10 mins driving, a ground floor isn't good to enjoy the ocean view, they have to shorten up the greenish fence
Review 69:Relaxing place for budgeted people, clean and tidy place, great ocean view
Review 70:Nothing. It met all our expectations
Review 71:The location is great about 3 kilometers out of town. Our room was clean and nice with a little balcony and a nice water view. The staff were pleasent and helpful. The breakfast was excellent
Review 72:Clip clopping of heels on ground floor carried...very noisy. Guests returning late and departing early also very noisy. 5a.m.! Noise insulation bad
Review 73:Location with view to sea. Having a balcony.
Review 74:The only negative is the location - 2km from Ste Maxime and with the fairly busy coast road between the hotel and the beach. Having said that, the landscaping etc hide the road both visually and aurally and the view from the rooms is terrific.
Review 75:Friendly, English-speaking staff: comfortable bedroom: well-appointed bathroom with powerful shower: generous and varied breakfast buffet: very high standard of cleanliness. Also, the hotel is linked to L'Hermitage Restaurant in Ste Maxime town which is absolutely superb.
Review 76:Nothing at all.
Review 77:Excellent location with a view of the sea. Wonderfully polite and very helpful staff - and the room was excellent. We went in the off-season (i.e. January) and the low season price was terrific for the standard of hotel. Top marks!
Review 78:Nothing.
Review 79:Dream location with direct view of the see - just across the road is beach. The staff was very friendly and willing to help in any possible way. Breakfast was good and parking is on the site.
Review 80:The hotel has rather thin walls, and you can hear other guests moving around. Earplugs are a must.
Review 81:Staff were really good, were able to get me food upon rate arrival when all local restaurants were closed.
Review 82:The hotel is far a little bit from st maxime about 15 km but if you have a car it will be okay . little bit noisy from the road but closing the window works with this problem
Review 83:Every things in this hotel are wonderful the view , cleanness , breakfast and the hospitality They have a very calm privet beach it coast 10 euro per person
Review 84:Some noice and you were not able to walk to town - difficult and dangerous be-cause og the trafic.
Review 85:The small "garden" in front of our room, fair Parking and only a few minutes to drive to the city. The breakfast was OK to a fair price
Review 86:Michelle is definitely the kindest recepctionist we have ever met. Checkout time is generously at noon (advantage for short stays). We were checking out 20 mins late, it was no issue at all (other hotels may charge an extra), moreover we were offered that we can use the beach towels, shower facilities and the parking lot of the hotel as long as we want to stay on the beach.. The room was modern and clean, with a good view to the sea. Location is also good right next to the beach, St Maxime is a few mins drive.
Review 87:Road noise and limited parking.
Review 88:Very friendly service. High quality room for a motel-style property. Decent breakfast. Good location with access to beachside restaurants. Good value for this area.
Review 89:The hotel was very nice and the people very friendly. There is a car park and a private beach if you want to. It is easy to get a boat and visit Sainte Tropez as well. I absolutely recommend this nice hotel.
Review 90:Breakfast was a little disorganised
Review 91:We loved the location of the hotel so close to the beach and our room being on the first floor had a view over the ocean
Review 92:This was one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed. The staff was so friendly. The rooms were always cleand and a wonderful breakfast is served. Just the opposite side, there is a public and private beach. Both of them were excellent.
Review 93:The room was a bit small. The private beach area associated with the hotel was very small and since we arrived later in the day, all the chairs and umbrellas were already taken so we had to find a different place to go. They don't have enough room for all the guests.
Review 94:Super nice place. The room was spotless and modern, including the bathroom. Very, very nice facility. The 2 desk ladies were very, very nice and friendly and helpful.
Review 95:Out of 7 nights we had 3 very noisy nights, we had to make a complaintas the people in the next room had no respect for other holiday makersand made constant noise throughout the night. This actually spoiled ourholiday to some degree. The hotel staff tried to deal with the situationbut it did not improve, hence I do not think that we will ever go backto this hotel again. Across the road from the hotel is the Mario Plage,I believe that Hotel La Plage have some business agreements with Marioplage. With regards to getting a sun lounger for the day it seemed thatthe plagiste at the Mario plage always gave preference to French peopleover any other foreign persons, we were told daily that all the sunloungers had gone, yet 6 hours later they were all still empty. We letthe lady at the Mario plage know of this as it was so obviously rude andalso unfair, we were willing to pay just like the French tourists, whywould we be told no!!!!....
Review 96:Great location, the hotel was very clean and the staff very polite. Therooms are cleaned daily which was a surprise, the people who clean therooms done a great job which was impressive. At the Mario plage acrossthe road the sun loungers are €18 per day, per person but if you arestaying at the Hotel la plage then they are €10 per day, per person, thought this was very good....also, ask at Hotel la plage reception sthey give you a fresh beach towel each day, this was great.
Review 97:The hotel's location is very convenient if you travel by car (free parking, half an hour and you are among the wineries, the beach is just in front of the hotel, St Tropez is 16 km away). They have a nice private beach (10 EUR\day) and also a free public beach. Good breakfasts (served in the hotel's patio and at the beach restaurant). Good choice of food for the rest of the day and night at the beach restaurant, nice music in the evening
Review 98:Little bit away from main resort but used little green bus to get around for one euro which was very good. Went to hotel restaurant for a snack when we first arrived and the staff didn't understand simple requests. Decided to just have a panini and some fries with a couple of glasses of chilled wine. The snack bar sent us to the restaurant when we said what we wanted and the restaurant quite rightly sent us back to the snack area. They kept saying chicken nuggets with the fries and we kept saying no but guess what? We got chicken nuggets and had to pay for them. One thing I wouldn't pick in the South of France or England is chicken nuggets. After that we used the other restaurants which were very good.
Review 99:Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Room nice and overlooking the sea.
Review 100:First night we had a room near the stairs on the first floor. Small, noisy from traffic, not so good. Second day we could move to the ground floor, which was a lot better in all respects.
Review 101:Good place to stay near the beach. Nice roomon ground floor, with terrace and chairs. Staff friendly, speaks English, helpfull.
Review 102:A little out of town. Restaurant closed due to early spring month.
Review 103:Nice clean, modern renovated rooms with seaview. Bathroom very spacious.Free parking + wifi.
Review 104:The hotel very nice, clean and modern. The view from the room fantastic onto the sea.The room was little, but very clean and pretty. The breakfast plain, but tasty. We enjoy our stay, thank you again!
Review 105:the shower door was broken, an oversight easy for the hotel to miss if on one complained about it. the breakfast was not very varied. but all in all a good place for its price.
Review 106:A good budget hotel. Very close to the beach, but would only stay there if you come with your own car.
Review 107:Perfection.The hotel pool is the Mediteranian. Perfection. The hotel pool is the Mediterranean. Ideally placed round the corner from Ste Maxime and on one of the best beaches. The hotel restaurant on the beach, Mario Plage, is very pleasant and knocks the town eateries off their perch.
Review 108:Having Google-Earthed this hotel, I was pleased to find that the reality was actually better than the images, and info on your web site. A rare thing nowadays. Breakfast a touch expensive for simple fare, but overall, we were delighted with our choice.
Review 109:Far from the centre. High price if you consider to travel in car to downtown. The hotel is lonely but acceptable.
Review 110:Modern hotel, very clean and very well furnished, friendly personal, all rooms are modern, quiet and clean.
Review 111:There on Sunday and most local eating places not open sunday evening until July
Review 112:Very helpful staff. Good location out of St Maxime therefore quieter.
Review 113:Very nice hotel with large and spacious rooms for 3*.
Review 114:bathroom too small

Review 117:A bit noisy at night
Review 118:Next to beach
Review 119:No restaurant in hotel or room service for snack
Review 120:Nice clean room bed very comfortable( firm)
