Review 15:very friendly, very accommodating thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the folk week
Review 16:Nothing.
Review 17:Made to feel like 'part of the family'. Collected/chose our eggs for breakfast from the family's chickens. Nothing was too much trouble, and excellent advice from Dan about fabulous places to eat and drink in the town.
Review 18:We would have preferred it if the shower had been a little higher.
Review 19:This was a lovely, quirky, listed building with a pleasant atmosphere. Our room had a balcony overlooking the garden. The on site parking was very useful.
Review 20:light on landing was too sensitive to movement came on when turning in bed!!! Dan promised to look into it.h Was a little too quiet in evenings when we stayed.
Review 21:Very friendly family and staff couldn't do enough for you. Decor was really lovely .and very clean
Review 22:The outside of the hotel looks rather quirky but inside it is quite different.Work was being done on the roof so there was some noise, but the manager was keen to make sure we were not too disturbed by it. Wi Fi did not work in the bedroom.
Review 23:The location was good being close to the town and beach. The manager was friendly and helpful. The room clean and spacious.
Review 24:Nothing!
Review 25:The room was comfortable and perfect for us and our 4 month old son. The added bonus of the honesty bar is great plus the owners were fantastic and went above and beyond for us, looking after out son whilst we enjoyed the delicious breakfast! We will definitely go back.
Review 26:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 27:Our room was lovely, spacious and light. The owners really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast awesome if you like a full english!!!
Review 28:Room a little cramped but had option to upgrade for relatively small extra cost. Initially seemed a bit pricey but really quite good value given that it is mid summer in a seaside resort.
Review 29:Friendly & informal staff attitude. Lovely breakfast. Nice garden.
Review 30:As A regular in hotels often for a one night stay, this hotel is above what I consider as 2 star. The service and lounge area with relaxing garden enhanced my stay. If you want a few days away in Sidmouth do not ignore this hotel in your search. I shall be back
Review 31:room of poor quality and no wifi. Overpriced for standard of room. Although there were some larger, higher standard rooms within the hotel.
Review 32:very clean, very friendly, nice breakfast. Good location.
Review 33:The evening meals offered were not to my taste but having said that ,I prefer to eat out and explore the area, anyway.
Review 34:A family run business, VERY relaxed and everyone made you feel very welcome. Beautiful ,old building, with lots of history, very clean. My dog Dudley was made to feel one of the family. Ideal location as near to the town but not right on the sea front.
Review 35:Nice hotel run by friendly folks. Close to Sidmouth and the Seafront. The room was comfortable, and well furnished. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, the meals were wonderful! We will definitely stay again!
Review 36:Hotel is perfectly situated for a short stroll to the promenade for my 84 year old mum. Downstairs room with doors opening onto the patio area. Very friendly feel about the place.
Review 37:The location was very good, within easy walking distance to sea front and town. The food was excellent as was the hospitality - nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend!
Review 38:Very welcoming on arrival we were offered another room if we did'nt like the one we were taken to. Interior very nice comfortable and homely, breakfast was varied and well cooked would definately stay again.
Review 39:Booked on a whim at random, 2 adults & a solid tall 15 year old in 2 rooms. very laid back feeling, but every thing was very organised.liked the call to see if we'd like a four poster bed.excellent presentation, value & location. ticked all our boxes, will return.
Review 40:When I booked I hadn't realised that it was dog friendly as my husband is allergic to them. However due to the cleanliness and segregation of dogs to certain downstairs rooms it didn't present any problems. This would not put me off staying there again I would just have to make sure I had an upstairs room.
Review 41:Very friendly hosts and staff. Spacious and spotless bedroom and bathroom. Extremely comfortable bed. Delightful breakfast.
Review 42:Welcoming. Upgrade to double room, Focused on our needs. Comfortable rooms, interesting building with sitting and conservatory area and good breakfasts.
Review 43:Nothing to dislike - everything 'spot on'.l
Review 44:We enjoyed everything during our stay at Woodlands Hotel. A very pleasant surprise! Rooms, decor, gardens - all excellent!
Review 45:A hotel where one can relax. The (standard) room we had was clean, fresh and comfortable. The manager and staff friendly and courteous. If we were to be in the area again we would hesitate in choosing the Woodlands Hotel.
Review 46:It was relaxing, the food and everything were excellent. The manager and his wife were attentive and friendly and were constantly checking if we had everything we needed. Great Stay.
Review 47:I enjoyed it all - nothing to dislike
Review 48:The linen / towels - good quality Very friendly The reception area is very tastefully decorated and love the tartan carpet.
Review 49:No grab rails or handholds on or over bath, which would have been helpful for getting in or out of bath. No emergency call facility in bathroom. Bathroom door difficult to latch properly, owner assured us this would be seen to.
Review 50:Good comfortable large warm double room with good hanging space. Freshly decorated. Comfy bed. Quiet location, and easy short walk to town centre. Well placed for road routes out of Sidmouth if exploring other areas. Excellent breakfasts with prompt service. Owners always helpful at reception. Parking space fine.
Review 51:On the first night the room was a bit too cold, but it was soon sorted (central heating timing issue). The shower (unit) was renewed on 2nd day (reported defective by the maid, not us), but the shower rail was broken & the curtain was totally inadequate. Overpriced for it's location as superior room priced same as sea-view rooms in other seafront hotels.
Review 52:The staff, their friendliness. A real home from home. Comfort of the bed, excellent - good night's sleep. Size of room very generous proportions. WiFi available, Off road parking, Pet friendly, all plus points. Excellent evening meal reasonably priced.

Review 55:Nothing
Review 56:The breakfast was first class and could not have been better. The room was good and well cleaned although we mentioned that a wet-room would be helpful for the elderly visitors. Megan and Dan were extremely helpful at all times and worked hard to make all visitors comfortable.
Review 57:A room facing the garden would have been better for sleep than our room facing the road. So next time I will book direct with the hotel to discuss room availability.
Review 58:The owner helped with parking and provided water and sponge so I could remove gull droppings. Our bathroom had a real bath. Great when you have been walking the coastal path.
Review 59:Nothing significantly wrong. Little restricted re menu but understandable in hotel of this size. Difficult parking but this cannot be avoided. Owner makes sure space for clients.

Review 64:The Woodlands is a quirky property ( in a nice way) run with style by Megan, Dan and family. Service was efficient and the food was good in the dining room. When a tyre blew out on our car, Dan helped us to get it repaired on a Saturday morning - many thanks. Congrats on completing your first year at the hotel!
Review 65:I had a single room which whilst being very clean and having it's own shower en suite was just a little bit small.
Review 66:The owners, Dan and Megan, were excellent hosts and did their best to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Review 67:Nothing comes to mind that could be described as being what we didn't like.
Review 68:The friendliness of all connected to the hotel. The food was excellent and offered in sensible portions. we find that most restaurants give such large portions that it puts one off the meal.
Review 69:Lovely family run hotel, very welcoming and friendly. We loved the building with its narrow staircases and galleried hallway. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable and the food excellent. The public rooms were nicely furnished and although we didn't use the garden it looked inviting. Will definitely return, possibly with the rest of the family.
