Reviews for Best Western Beachcroft Hotel
Review 1:The room wasn't as nicely decorated or as modern as the restaurant or bar but still quite nice. The hotel car park is accessed from a narrow residential road with cars parked along - not ideal. We found the hotel quite hard to find.
Review 2:The staff were very professional and polite. The restaurant and bar area were very nicely decorated and set out (and festively decorated!). Location of hotel by the beach was really nice. There is plenty of parking.
Review 3:Great location with views of sea and waves crashing on the beach, very scenic outlook in a peaceful location. Easy parking, helpful and friendly staff.
Review 4:No being able to get an evening meal, due to it being a themed Christmas dinner event. One Christmas dinner was enough.
Review 5:The position of the hotel was perfect for walking and travelling to places of interest.
Review 6:Shower drain blocked, also sink very slow on releasing water. Did receive prompt attention to get these put right. Had extreme difficulty getting into room using the card method, took around20 attempts to get it to work.
Review 7:Spacious room, comfy large bed. Very warm. Staff pleasant and polite. Food good.
Review 8:We were unable to obtain a snack at lunchtime and the bar wasn't open and didn't open until 6pm but I suppose it was understandable as it was November/December.
Review 9:The food was very good and the rooms were comfortable although bathrooms perhaps could benefit from an update.
Review 10:evening meal curtailed by imposed disco music and imposed raffle members left early as social element was interupted
Review 11:location for a group meal we decided to also stay the night
Review 12:The bedroom could have done with a deep carpet clean and the bathroom was clean but just felt tired. We were disturbed both nights by other guests.
Review 13:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Lovely breakfasts.
Review 14:No lift. Up 3 flights of stairs with baby & dismantled buggy despite booking family room. Needs updating. Old fashioned decor.
Review 15:Friendly staff. Very close to beach. Good breakfast.
Review 16:The decoration is quite dated and the squeaky floorboards philharmonic plumbing was a nuisance.
Review 17:The food in the restaurant was a little expensive but very good and the service was wonderful.
Review 18:Gloomy lighting. Poor display of area information leaflets. Narrow staircases.
Review 19:Evening meals were excellent; staff accommodating and alternatives offered to fit in with dietary requirements. Apologies were prompt and genuine. Lovely hot water in bathroom. Use of pool.
Review 20:The room was a little dingy and throughout the night we were disturbed by creaking upstairs and other rooms' plumbing
Review 21:The location. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful
Review 22:Extremely disappointed to be given a dark, dismal back bedroom which looked onto roof of room next door - especially as we hadn't been a last minute booking and hadn't paid a much reduced rate! After speaking to reception we were given a much more suitable room overlooking the front.
Review 23:Position - near beach and good promenade for walking.
Review 24:Aged room facilities not the best upgraded work seen; viz bedside table lights you need to get OUT of bed to use; mirror on door inside that looks like there was hole in door and someone could peer in; fitted crooked and much more! Like small 5ft bath and shower run off taps! Dangerous stairs leading to Room 45 - too narrow and steep for older people; a better handrail needed; a lift would be a welcome addition! Very flaky wifi in bedroom but told on leaving there was a laptop available to use in reception.
Review 25:Caring and helpful Staff Dining experience
Review 26:Hour wait for a meal in restaurant and then it was great . Breakfast was cold they did take it back but it came back just as cold
Review 27:Staff give great customer service nothing to much
Review 28:On arrival the room we had was over the restaurant and found it smelling of food constantly.. When asking to move we was told we could but would be charged 50% of the room price! Not happy when we have already paid for a room and paid extra for sea view. On reading the brochure it states that most rooms are sea view and we couldn't really see the sea. The room was a little dated and not as seen in the brochure please be aware.
Review 29:Could not fault the staff, welcomed in a very friendly manner and found them to be very helpful.
Review 30:Air freshener or the like used in room overpowering and got in your throat. Bathroom very small and lack of anywhere to place toiletries. No hot water after 8 p.m.
Review 31:Location and excellent restaurant staff.
Review 32:The only downside was the bathrooms. They could do with an upgrade.
Review 33:Overall the stay was excellent. Couldn't get much better on location, food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Bedrooms were clean.
Review 34:Very friendly staff. One of the party was disabled and a space was named and reserved which was a nice touch. Some of the ramps need abit more of a slope but we managed to get around pretty well.
Review 35:Really disliked the Stained towels, and marks on the sheets and shabby decor
Review 36:Loved the location, friendly staff, who couldn't be more helpful. The vegetarian breakfast was excellent too.
Review 37:meal in restaurant was the worst we have ever had. Stairs far too narrow and bathroom not clean in areas which are not easily assessable.
Review 38:close to Goodwood revival
Review 39:The staff were friendly, although all very young and some were quite unprofessional and not as attentive as we would have expected. The hotel itself was nice but we would not recommend eating there, the breakfast was below standard and the evening meal we had in the restaurant was terrible, we sent everything back almost untouched, poor quality food, didn't match the menu description, poorly put together and poorly cooked, the 'continental meat platter' was a few salad leaves and bread sticks, with processed cold meat straight out of a packet, resembling spam! Was such a shame as we'd stayed in Best Western hotels before and had great experiences, we even got married at a Best Western in Bromley and the food and service was fantastic, so we expected similar. But this was just very disappointing. The staff did take the meal off of our bill, rightly so as we'd eaten hardly any of it, but did try to explain away the poor quality of standard of the food. Also, our room was comfy although small, but we were constantly disturbed all night with strange clicking noises and sounds of water pipes gushing through, and also our bathroom was flooded on our last day due to a leak in the kitchen! The staff did try and were friendly, but generally our stay was not the best at all. Certainly not worth £189.00 for 2 nights!
Review 40:The location was great, right on the beach, and the indoor heated pool was lovely.
Review 41:Most things were comfortable and clean - I would just mention that the vacuum cleaner needs to go right round the edges of the carpet next to the wall, and the drape over my bed didn't seem clean - better not to have one, than one which wasn't fresh...
Review 42:The staff took trouble to find me a room which suited me. It had a great view of the sea and I felt the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very well located for what I needed.
Review 43:Staff at reception might be a bit more friendly even when it's busy! Sometimes it feels like you really bother them! Avocado salad ordered for dinner had to be re-done due to avocado piecEs being brownish.. In Room 59 sometimes there a was an annoying noise from the pipes on the bathroom.,
Review 44:Great location at the seaside without a hustle of the resorts; very good breakfast; staff is helpful and accommodating
Review 45:That with booking.com you are unable to enter details of the 2nd guest in the room so I then had a shock of having to pay an extra £21 for the 2nd person - not as reasonably priced as I thought after discovering that!
Review 46:Great for access to the beach and for a quiet stay.
Review 47:Not enough disabled parking spaces and the two that were, were used by cars without disabled cards!!
Review 48:Helpful friendly staff. Comfortable room would have preferred double instead of twin but not a big problem.
Review 49:Despite arriving very late following a wedding, the bar staff were extremely helpful in getting us booked in and up to our room. Although we didn't get to spend long in the hotel, it was clean and comfortable with a good shower. Breakfast was not the biggest of spreads but did us fine, particularly the cooked option which was very tasty. The sea view was worth waking up to, just wish we had been there longer to enjoy it more!
Review 50:VERY expensive for £140 for one night. Quality not to this standard at all (and we go to a LOT of hotels!!) Poor standard of décor and furniture - £50 a night we would expect this poor quality of establishment. WE would DEFINATELY NOT recommend this to ANYONE we know and like.
Review 51:near the sea
Review 52:Had problem with toilet continually flushing water down so cistern was empty when needed. Staff sorted out 3 times in total, hope they have now fixed. Room 5.
Review 53:Friendly staff, breakfast good, and wedding meal fish and chips excellent.
Review 54:Had difficulty in locating Hotel in the first place because the sign on the opposite side of Clyde Road is obliterated by foliage.
Review 55:Friendly staff. Good service and enjoyable meals in restaurant. Good location near to beach.
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:My stay was short all the staff were very frendly and went out of their way to help you. The facilties were good, as was the food and the rooms plus convneient loaction.
Review 58:Noise. There was an outside function on the Saturday evening with loud music. To be fair it finished bang on the stroke of midnight and the guests left very quietly. Unfortunately they took up all the car parking spaces and I had to park half a mile away.
Review 59:Friendly and welcoming. Excellent restaurant
Review 60:Whilst the hotel/room was clean and tidy, it really is in desperate need of re-vamping as it is still somewhere in the 1980's. Shame really as if it was brought up to date, it would be a wonderful place. Get rid of the pebble car park and put some tarmac down!
Review 61:Staff were a pleasure, polite and helpful. Breakfast was good quality but not sure whether it was worth £11.
Review 62:The staff are the stars of this hotel. They are friendly and approachable and go out of their way to assist. Very clean rooms and public areas. The hotel though dated has its own vintage charm. I would hate to see it updated and bland.
Review 63:Climbing 2 sets of narrow stairs with suitcase was difficult. Hotel needs a serious modernisation.
Review 64:Typical old English seaside hotel, relying on the beach location to pull customers in. Reception and bar staff were very good and attentive. Nice 15 minute walk along the beach to get to Bognor.
Review 65:Not really a problem but could not get Wi Fi working.
Review 66:Everything, think it is a great hotel staff are excellent, breakfast great and a very friendly atmosphere.
Review 67:The wifi didn't connect in our room. Wasn't really a problem though, we didn't care, as we had 3G, and it connected everywhere else. We were room 59.
Review 68:The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and attentive, the room was a great size and you can tell it was well maintained. Lovely setting, good car park.
Review 69:nothing.
Review 70:Staff were so friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The room was comfortable and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay just wished we could have stayed a little longer than two nights.
Review 71:Merely a personal preference - I do like a range of different ales in the bar. I do understand that these need a regular turnover which is difficult in a hotel bar. However, the hotel is going to look into it. Can't really ask for much more.
Review 72:All the staff were attentive and engaging. A very friendly attitude was displayed by all the staff we encountered. The quality of food and service was excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable.
Review 73:Only complaint is the bed wasn't overly comfy, not the worst I've slept in but could feel springs on my hips/ribs in certain positions.
Review 74:Loved the pool, nice that a heated pool is heated, the warmest I've been in! Breakfast was lovely, best hotel fry up in a long time. Good selection of everything else too! Staff were only too willing to help.
Review 75:The mattress could have been more comfortable but it was a "spare" bed as it was a third single provided especially, which we appreciate
Review 76:The lightness feel of the hotel and comfortable furniture etc.
Review 77:Noise hard to sleep and up again early in morning
Review 78:Found the hotel very noisey doors banging and noise from other people in rooms. Food very good and service by staff quick and efficient at breakfast room clean and ample for our needs. Over charged on bill which seemed to much trouble for staff on reception to sort out.
Review 79:Couldn't park in hotel car park one night as function on & all spaces taken. Hotel could do with more spaces available
Review 80:Location right by sea front, quiet, Friendly staff & very pleasant breakfast. Seaview room was very pleasant & comfortable
Review 81:Perhaps some signpost in the car park directing to the overflow car park, we arrived late at night and thought there was no parking and parked in a nearby residential area.
Review 82:politeness and friendliness of staff
Review 83:Nice to be able to come out of the hotel and on to the seafront, and nice garden to sit in.Staff at the hotel were excellent all very helpful and breakfast very good lots of choice
Review 84:Lack of evening entertainment. Internet fine when running seemed to be a problem for half our stay. Ideal for short stay.
Review 85:All staff very helpful. Nice pool but fairly basic. Good food selection, nice evening meals.
Review 86:From the temperature, I'd guess that my cooked breakfast stood around for a few minutes before being served.
Review 87:Being able to walk on the promenade almost immediately from the hotel.
Review 88:Don't book here
Review 89:My partner was illness and doctor said it was contagious so didn't want to make anyone else ill in hotel so phone to try and move booking but was refused.
Review 90:The decor of the room is starting to look a little tired and will soon need redecorating.
Review 91:The staff were great and the location is fantastic. We had a room with sea view.
Review 92:Lack of lift and steep stairs although that is because of anno Domini on my part
Review 93:The friendly staff in the restaurant and dining room. The excellent service of " receptionist" - in particular helping on arrival with case, and changing a dud light bulb.
Review 94:Radiator in ensure was on all day and couldn't turn off and as weather was warm this did not need to be on.
Review 95:Nice extra large double bed. Staff friendly and breakfast very good.
Review 96:We had room 42 which was right next to reception and a bit noisy. The hotel is a bit old and tired but it has a odd charm which more than makes up for it.
Review 97:Staff were very nice and attentive, nothing was too much trouble.
Review 98:Although parking places were marked out other guests had parked carelessly - taking up more than 1 place. I spoke to staff member about it but they said nothing could be done. It turned out that some of these people were only using restaurant and didn't stay night any way. Perhaps car park should be reserved for hotel guests.
Review 99:Sea view! Best I've ever had!
Review 100:The WiFi did NOT work in the bedroom and reception was very slow in the dining room.
Review 101:The food was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable. The service at reception was very good.
Review 102:I consider £100 per night for two expensive - It was very noisy and we could hear snoring from the next room, not the relaxing break we were looking forward to. They tried fo find us a nther room but don't have a quiet section, why? We were looking for a place to visit once a month or so, sadly disappointed!
Review 103:location on sea front - excellent and free parking wonderful bed and linens!
Review 104:Sounded like hollow ceiling and walls could hear every footstep in the room above and voices through the walls. Wifi was very poor, unusable, shouldn't advertise it if it's not strong enough for geusts to use.
Review 105:The hotel was very good comfortable and the staff were all good and helpfull.
Review 106:We found nothing to dislike on this visit and look forward to coming back soon.
Review 107:The staff - their professionalism and courtesy far outshone the three star rating. We left impressed by their attention to detail and attentive friendly manner. We hope to return for a 'Spring' break due to this and the perfect location.
Review 108:Not being able to choose where to sit for breakfast. Was shown to a table in middle of restaurant would rather have chosen one at the side for the views and my sons needs. To be fair I did not ask to be moved as did not want to cause any inconvenience.
Review 109:Pool opened early and late.V friendly staff.Lots of waiters and waitresses in the morn.
Review 110:Although could connect Wifi didn't work in room.
Review 111:All staff really friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Room nice and warm and comfortable.
Review 112:A birthday function was occuring during the evening of our stay which meant it was rather noisy in our room above the venue. Found the swimming pool to be rather small.
Review 113:The hotel is a very short walk from the seafront. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff, particularly the restaurant staff, were very friendly and helpful.
Review 114:All the staff were excellent particularly Kerrie on reception and Ben in the bar/restaurant Rooms were large, clean and warm with comfortable beds. Food was good too. Easy, free on site parking very welcome The location was very scenic being almost right on the beach and ideally placed for my appointment the following day Also very well priced - overall first class
Review 115:Didn't like the fact that there was a no cancellation policy. One never knows if they will be ill or have some other problem when booking a hotel. Most hotels do a 48 hour cancellation policy.
Review 116:We liked the location and the hotel in general, we have been before.
Review 117:We tried to get a drink being as a resident at 12 and they wouldn't serve me and the bathroom wwasn't the cleanest other wise the stay was ok
Review 118:The location in Bognor was perfect just beside the sea
Review 119:The changing rooms for the swimming area were more like boxes ...exceedingly small!
Review 120:The staff were very helpful and so polite. They provided us with breakfast to take out when we had to leave early. We will be staying again :)
Review 121:Location was very good. It was a comfortable place to stay, with friendly staff. Food was very good. We used it as a base to visit other places in the area and it was well located for that. Overall, very good.
Review 122:the shower in our room did not work (room 5)the water in bath water was nice and hot but as pensioners would have prefered a shower i:e difficulty getting out of bath
Review 123:not the hotels fault but incessant drilling in the road outside.
Review 124:we liked our room and also the meal in the restaurant where we had invited friends to join us. Also could not fault the breakfast which enhanced the whole experience.
Review 125:Rooms were very hot which gave slightly disturbed sleep.
Review 126:The location, the breakfast, the friendly staff, ground floor access to room (for mum with limited mobility), being very near the sea.
Review 127:Nothing, all good
Review 128:We really had a wonderful stay at the Hotel, the staff were very attentive and great service given by all, we would recommend a stay here, we came back to Jersey totally relaxed
Review 129:To hot even with all windows open in October no temperature controls available to guests. Bathroom sink wouldn't drain and state of bathroom poor as well as room. The decor in room needs updated wanting complete redo.
Review 130:Location and included breakfast
Review 131:too small lounge too narrow stairways faulty door Key Card hard pillows bedroom television size causes - too small sub titles difficult to see.
Review 132:Great communications with staff Friendly Excellent waiters breakfast front garden seatings parking large opening windows
Review 133:No window in bathroom and shower little more than a dribble. Bar prices very high.
Review 134:Room (sea-view, 1st floor) good size. Breakfast and location very good.
Review 135:restaurant food miniscule shower cubicle climbing 2 flights of narrow stairs wasnt told of difficult access hard bed only given an option of eating as soon as we arrived or wouldnt feed us arrival 6.30
Review 136:staff were polite
Review 137:I would have preferred a shower with a proper enclosure rather than oneover the bath, which did look tired and in need of some care andattention. The mixer tap was difficult to arrange, so I either burned orfroze while showering.I found the hotel difficult to find, so some more precise directions might have been useful for those who like me still use proper road maps and not Sat Nav. I ended up finding it by accident after I had been to several other parts of Bognor and beyond. It was a question of " well I'll try this road then "! It made for an interesting journey.
Review 138:The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable indeed. I wasreally able to relax and sleep. The dining room / restaurant was excellent but I think the food could be improved and raised above the level of pub fare. It was hot however and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. In general the staff were excellent. Everyone, from the cleaners to the up front people, was helpful, kind and friendly. I was very glad to have their help as I am using crutches at the moment, but hadn't asked for disabled facilities. Full marks to them for all their hard work.
Review 139:Card keys did'nt work and we had to get replacements twice, also stairs to our room rather steep but there was someone on hand to take our cases up.
Review 140:Closeness to sea and friendly staff, very clean , slightly dated décor but comfortable .
Review 141:Very old tacky rooms with no views difficult to access through winding narrow corridors and stairway. The a la carte dining presented very ordinary food at 5 star prices.
Review 142:Staff were helpful. Internet access was good.
