Reviews for Hotel-Restaurant Le Victoria

Review 1:The price of the breakfast was a bit expensive at 9.50€, especially if you only want coffee and a croissant. It was only afterwards we saw that you can have an express breakfast cheaper, but weren't given the option when booking. Still wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel

Review 2:Friendly staff, nice restaurant and very convenient for train station and theatres. We managed to reserve parking for 7€ which was a welcome bonus. Also liked the extendable, magnifying, shaving mirror in the bathroom, useful for make up as well. Will definitely go there again next time we're in Rennes.

Review 3:Not the fault of the hotel, but the tree lined street is infested with starlings - do not leave a car under them. Parking to the rear of the hotel - at a cost - still gets splattered!

Review 4:Located within walking distance of Rennes centre & Rennes railway station.

Review 5:Only minutes away from the railway station, the shops and the metro or only half hour walk across town to the Cathedral and wonderful Saturday marché des Lices. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 6:My room was is basic. No watercooker, no airconditioning. Not suitable for light sleepers a quite a lot of street noise from traffic and nearby café's can be heard inside the room. The street alongside of which the hotel is located is a busy one. The wifi did not work while I was there.

Review 7:The hotel is located at walking dictance from The railway station, bus and metro. Room was clean and the staff was friendly. Staff did not speak english.

Review 8:Unfortunately the wifi wasn't working the day we were there.

Review 9:The reserved private parking was perfect. The room and breakfast were good - no complaints. Rennes itself was a very delightful surprise with superb architecture and restaurants.

Review 10:I was a bit surprised to be charged separately for an early morning cup of tea with my cigarette when I had booked breakfast. But maybe that's normal, I don't travel much.

Review 11:chatting with the manager in the bar

Review 12:The parking. OK though, because Gerrard moved the car for me. There is a narrow passage leading through to a courtyard with room for three cars....just.

Review 13:The staff. The ambience. The unstuffiness of the place

Review 14:We were traveling in two 40 year old cars and needed to be able to park them off the street, Le Victoria provided this, and it is close to the centre of town.

Review 15:I asked to book parking for the two nights I was staying at the hotel. When I got there I was told it was fully booked and we had to park in a multistory car park which cost us 30 Euros.

Review 16:The WiFi was a bit flaky with fluctuating signal strength. Also, as a Brit, the facility to make a cuppa in the morning would have been welcome.

Review 17:Convenient for sightseeing in the city and ideal for the concert venue. I would say the room was basic but that was all that we needed.

Review 18:The water coming from the shower was not enough, which is very inconvenient for taking a shower.

Review 19:Clean and quiet. Very well-furnished. Staff are nice but busy with the restaurant.(sometimes a bit hard to reach them)

Review 20:Our bathroom door wouldn't close and when we told this at the front desk they advised us to use a chair to close the door. I know that price is not high for the room but I expected smth better. Besides the wall with the window had a mould on it. it is very impersonal.

Review 21:Close to train station (5min) and old town (15min).

Review 22:I spent two nights in a room on the street side. All of Saturday night there were loud drunks out on the avenue Janvier, couples yelling at each other, people hitting each other and kicking garbage cans, etc. Where were the police? Sunday night was much, much calmer, and I made up for lost sleep.

Review 23:Location near the train station and near the middle of town. Room was comfortable. Excellent, friendly staff. Good breakfast.

Review 24:The bed mattress was too hard which made it difficult to sleep

Review 25:The rooms were clean, shower was good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was good to have parking

Review 26:The hotel is modern and sleek, but the shower in one of our rooms had dark/stained grout which put me off a little bit. The showers are also bath tubs which was okay for my brother and myself, but I was worried that the high step-down would be difficult for my parents when exiting the shower. Breakfast was good but did not have much variety.

Review 27:We only stayed one night and were not able to explore the surroundings but there were a number of restaurants, cafes, and a great boulangerie just down the road. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, smooth stay.

Review 28:Promes parking and they have 3 spa es for The all hotel. A Loteria Of Street noice du ring The night

Review 29:It is very well located

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Great location, close to the train station and the metro, but not noisy. Also comfortable and clean.

Review 32:Clean and quiet

Review 33:Room was quiet lean and plenty of room

Review 34:Location

Review 35:Good location for both the town centre and the airport, friendly staff, excellent value

Review 36:Friendly staff

Review 37:Room small but we'll decorated. no air con and hot.

Review 38:Bath in the room You could make the room dark using blinds

Review 39:Hotel was close to restaurants and the station

Review 40:Quiet rooms and comfy bed.

Review 41:Size of room. After breakfast and parking added the price was very disappointing.

Review 42:Second morning better breakfast, service more accommodating.

Review 43:really friendly staff and very clean.

Review 44:Bathroom door wouldn't close. There should be more pillows in the room.

Review 45:Staff were very helpful. Very short walk from the train station.

Review 46:Reception staffed all evening. Friendly staff. Comfortable and central. Did not take breakfast. Would happily stay there again.

Review 47:Staff should be more kind with not-french customers.

Review 48:Nothing.

Review 49:Excellent location. Friendly staffs. They have a restaurant next to it.

Review 50:Extremely nice staff, good restaurant, stay-at-home atmosphere. Any time I am in Rennes, I stay in this hotel.

Review 51:A little expensive in busy times.

Review 52:Efficient, friendly service. Good-sized rooms, and nice restaurant.

Review 53:Broken shower fitting.

Review 54:Good central location close to railway station. Space for cycle parking. Comfortable room.

Review 55:A very nice, small hotel, very well located for the historic parts of Rennes and restaurants.

Review 56:No kettle Fairly basic

Review 57:Clean functional near station nice dining area

Review 58:Dark corridors No hairdryer

Review 59:Very good value Minimalist design Helpful staff Breakfast

Review 60:Location close to city center

Review 61:Easy to find and close to the centre of Rennes. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quite modern - good bed and shower too. We ate in the bar downstairs and the food was good and reasonably priced. The receptionist even translated a few words on the menu which we couldn't understand thru Google for us - her English was only a bit better than our French but, as with most French people, a smile and an attempt at their language goes a long way.

Review 62:Lack of hair dryer and large towels!

Review 63:I liked the staff and bar but I think a hair dryer should be available and towels were small. But minor problems it's a nice central place to stay!

Review 64:Receptionist was very very rude. No parking was available. The room was plain and boring. We opened the wardrobe to find somebody's clothes hanging in there. We told the receptionist and she started shouting at the chambermaid in front of us. We felt uneasy about staying and asked for a refund which we was refused. But we left anyway. We will be asking booking.com for refund

Review 65:Location ok

Review 66:The bathroom could have been a little better, but it was clean and nothing damaged. Given the price it was OK.

Review 67:No carpet on the floor, which is a good thing as they tend to be unsanitary.

Review 68:Bathroom was dated, bath taps and wall tiles were hanging off the wall.

Review 69:Easy parking, friendly staff, re-decorated/updated rooms. Good central location.

Review 70:Considering the price, breakfast could be better

Review 71:The hotel is closed to the city center; it was possible to park on site; the bedroom was small but comfortable

Review 72:No luggage storage room. Staff were extremely rude. If you're visiting Rennes, pay the extra money and stay at the Novotel across the street. Even though we weren't guests at the Novotel, they stored our luggage for free!!! Le Victoria had just a small space under a bench for luggage in the front lobby with zero security. Wi-fi password is annoyingly long and not strong in your room. The bathtub had hair in it before we even used it YUCK!!!! Lots of street noise and no AC in the rooms.

Review 73:The street was a little bit noisy at night, with the window open

Review 74:A modern bathroom with shower over bath Floorboards Comfortable bed Easy access to main train and bus station

Review 75:The receptionist was very unpleasant when checking in with a"couldn't be bothered" attitude. We requested car parkingand we were told that there was none available only to discover laterthat spaces were free. The room was extremely basic and on a very noisymain road. Breakfast was poor with old croissants - a first for us inFrance. Overall we would not recommend this hotel even to budgettravellers.

Review 76:The place was easilty located and near to railway station within walking distance. Restaurants were nearby. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great value for money.

Review 77:Good location. Hotel has recent had a facelift. Close to the station and good restaurants nearby. Serves the purpose of a night on the way to somewhere. Parking available.

Review 78:1/Location - it is only a few steps from the railway station and afew minutes from the city center.Nevertheless it is quiet. 2/Cleanness and the good relation value/price. 3/ The kindness andhelpfulness of the staff - their active approach to solving ourunexpected problems was extraordinaire.

Review 79:A. small fridge and tea making facilities would be an added advantage

Review 80:Location was ideal for train travellers. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was immaculately clean.

Review 81:There is noise transference from other rooms. Its not a big deal butgood to be aware of.

Review 82:Great location and warm welcome. Very clean. Having (paid for) on siteparking was great - remember to pre-book it though.

Review 83:We were looking for a small hotel while visiting our daughter who lives in central Rennes. We were pleasantly suprised. The location is excellent. Parking is available but for a small fee. The parking is very small though so it's best to book beforehand. The hotel is very clean, tastefully decorated and friendly. The restaurant is very good value for money and although the menu is limited it was excellent. We would not hesitate to come back and fully recommend this place. We really enjoyed our stay.

Review 84:Tired bathroom, difficult to regulate water temperature, poor quality and freshness of towels. Very poor wi fi signal in bedroom. Volume set on TV far too low, no English TV channels. Very small lift.

Review 85:Off street parking, location, contempary feel of bar and Restuarant. Lots of electric sockets in bedroom.

Review 86:The toilet in the room was a bit broken..it moved..not firm on theground. Mixed up that we were only booking for 1 person, so onlyoffer 1 towel..

Review 87:Nice location with worthwhile price.Close to train station. Nicestaffs, one of them though couldn't speak good English but really kindto us. Nice and warm room, and comfortable bed and pillows. Goodquality of wifi!

Review 88:Price. Clean sheets were left on the floor in the corridor outside the rooms while they were being changed. Worn out towels. Very slow internet connection.

Review 89:Very, very small rooms. Car parking is for 2 cars, but they squeeze in3, so maneuvering is challenging. Only one staff member spoke English,so if he wasnnt there you had no chance of being understood. Pillowswere terrible, flat as a crepe - and no additional ones available. Wewere charged for breakfast we didn't have. So beware when asked if youwant breakfast, you'll be charged even if you dont have it.

Review 90:The family room was two interconnecting rooms, we had them make up twosingles in one of the rooms for the children. You could leave doors opento both rooms, but close the hallway door for privacy.

Review 91:It was located near the train station in Rennes, but still in a nice area. The noise level from outside was low. The morning's breakfast was generous and tasty.

Review 92:Room was very small but adequate, there were tiles missing in the shower- a detail that should have been fixed.

Review 93:Position close to station was convenient for us. The dining area/ barwas comfortable. Safe storage for our bikes. Modern & stylish.

Review 94:A very pleasant stay. Staff very friendly, very near to train station.Booking easy and payment made at the end without any problems.Satisfactory overall.

Review 95:A French hotel which runs out of croissants an hour before the end of breakfast? Quelle domage!

Review 96:Pleasant staff greeted us and we were made to feel welcome. Nice bar and restaurant. Very handy for visiting the centre of Rennes with its many attractions. Private parking was satisfactory.

Review 97:I was staying in one of the rooms in the annex part at the back of thehotel. These rooms are not so comfortable - quite small and only have asky-light window. But the biggest problem was that the internet accessdid not reach to the room (it was fine in the main part of the hotel). This was very inconvenient for me, as it is one of the most importantthings that I need in a hotel.

Review 98:It is very convenient and the staff were friendly and helpful. Alsothe breakfast was nice - fresh squeezed orange juice, good coffee, fresh rolls.

Review 99:While the room had a slick interior, there had been a lack in attention to detail - the bathroom mirror was unusually low, the bed spread was old and worn, there were some missing skirting boards, the window lock was almost falling off etc. I also didn't think breakfast was value for money, there are some amazing bakeries in the area to find something eat instead.

Review 100:The room was recently renovated with a slick interior design. The free wifi was accessible in my room and not too slow. There was a lift, though it was incredibly small. The bed was comfortable. The shower work perfectly. The room was warm. It is also just 5 minutes walk from the train station or a couple minutes more to Republique. To sum up my experience at Le Victoria, I would say that it meet my expectations but did not exceed them. I would also stay there again but I would first look at other options in the same area.

Review 101:They are still remodeling some floors and it was a bit noisy. The heating was dripping during the night and it was possible to hear when other guests close their room's doors in the middle of the night.

Review 102:Not much to eat for breakfast. Very limited selection and on secondmorning there were no croissants! Not worth the 8 euros charged. Notenough hanging space in the room for clothes.

Review 103:Staff were really nice

Review 104:shower taps where not well fitted they where nearly hanging off the wall.

Review 105:nice rooms and clean, just what you need for a weekend away.

Review 106:Very stylish room, with nice looking furniture. The view and the breakfast were also great.

Review 107:Not far from the city center. One of the few hotels in Rennes with private parking. Friendly staff.

Review 108:Parking was very tight, there are only 3 spaces! Expensive, but at least it was secure.

Review 109:Location was superb, and provided a comfortable stay.

Review 110:Very good front desk staff, close to the railway station, quite and cosy, late check-out for free.

Review 111:Small twin room with very small beds. Nothing to lock bicycles to in the garage area.

Review 112:Good location, friendly staff, clean, with garage parking.

Review 113:Breakfast selection could be a bit more extensive

Review 114:Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and bed comfortable.

Review 115:The adjoining rooms to accommodate 4 people. Hotel was close to the train station.

Review 116:The bed is way too soft

Review 117:The location was great and ideal for getting into the centre of the city quickly.
