Reviews for Hostellerie Berard et Spa
Review 1:May not suit the less physically able, but that is just the nature if this location.
Review 2:Great location in the centre of an historic village. Beautiful views across the country side from the room and restaurants.
Review 3:The service in the michelin restaurant was quite slow and did not match the fantastic food.
Review 4:Loved the charming little rooms with great views. The food was fantastic in both restaurants.
Review 5:- we missed the breakfast deadline on our first day and decided to go buy fruits and croissants in the village. We then asked for cutlery /plates at the front desk and were told by the owner that they would not give it to us even though ordering the hotel's breakfast in the room was totally fine. They seem to consider their clients as cash machines vs being committed to deliver a great experience.
Review 6:- Staff is very attentive and well trained. - the village is nice and has a lot to offer (supermarket, shops, restaurants). - our room had a nice view of the valley and a gigantic bed.
Review 7:We didn't like paying 9€ for a cup of cappuccino at the bar.
Review 8:We loved so much about this hotel: the setting, the comfort of the room and easy access to facilities, the charm and taste throughout the hotel. This is our second time staying here!
Review 9:Our rooms were close to the Spa and received a good dose of the steam, making them uncomfortably hot at times. The restaurant is too expensive for what it is and the staff were overly officious.
Review 10:This hotel is in a beautiful location and has comfortable rooms as well as an excellent Michelin star restaurant.
Review 11:the staff were only quite friendly and not at all helpful when we asked if we could perhaps keep the room for an extra hour on the last day-their manner was off hand and left us thinking we won't come back again (we have been 5 times before and always left wanting more); there was one really helpful younger receptionist who welcomed us on arrival but the others were jaded and unfriendly- disappointing
Review 12:This is our third visit to this excellent hotel. It had two restaurants - a bistrot for informal dining and great food and a superb grand gastronomy restaurant offering some of the best food on the south of France,
Review 13:Very expensive. Typical French breakfasts.
Review 14:Great location in Le Cadiere. Very quirky. Good food. Service good.
Review 15:The setting and view plus lovely staff.
Review 16:Spa cost extra
Review 17:Location and comfort
Review 18:Beautiful location and lovely staff
Review 19:Nothing - we love this place and visit each year.
Review 20:The food, wine and people are wonderful
Review 21:The village is beautiful and the spa is very relaxing. Bandol is just few minutes drive away for hanging on the see front.
Review 22:Nothing particular.
Review 23:Staff, atmosphere and location.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Everything especially the breakfast
Review 26:The price is very high
Review 27:The location
Review 28:Rooms are a bit pricey for a three star hotel.
Review 29:The food is exquisite - and the wine selection is great. Staff are attentative without being intrusive. Great place for a gastronomic weekend.
Review 30:Not a single complaint.
Review 31:We loved everything about this hotel! The location in a charming villagenot too touristy was perfect! We loved the facilities, the dining roomwas superb, the care and understated beauty of the hotel itself wasexcellent. We greatly appreciated the "famille Berard" andhope to visit again.
Review 32:our room was in a dependence over the spa, spa entrance need an additional fee, restaurant quite expensive
Review 33:location downtow, very elegant, spa in the hotel, friendly staff
Review 34:breakfast was too expensive
Review 35:the location was perfect- amazing views. nice swimming pool, room was super comfy and beautiful, restaurants close by, lovely little town. the only hotel with working AC and wifi we stayed in!!
Review 36:Room is small and toilet is a bit weird. No kettle no iron and food is very expensive.
Review 37:It is close in the middle of the village which was convenient for us.
Review 38:There were no tea making facilities in my daughters double room when wearrived. Although the hotel did provide some when we asked. Therestaurant was very expensive.
Review 39:The staff were both friendly and helpful. The village in which the hotelis situated is beautiful with a very 'French' feel. There aremany vineyards to visit in the surrounding area. Absolutely amazingfood. The tasting menu provided one of the best meals we have ever had -although very expensive at 700 euros for 3 people.
Review 40:The hotel is situated on the main street with parking quite a distance away, down a very steep set of steps, so bringing luggage up to the hotel was a real effort, not for the faint hearted. We ordered the gourmet dinner in the main restaurant at 8.30 p.m. And arrived in the bar at 7.20 to enjoy an aperitif and study the menu. We were still waiting for our table at 9.00, had only had our starter by 10.00 and left after our main courses without dessert. The food was absolutely superbe and the waiters were all working extremely hard, but no-one seemed to notice that we hadn't been served... for 370€ (including a glass of wine each, and coffee) it was very disappointing. We have eaten at Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles and had six courses with better service for much less.
Review 41:Situated in a beautiful medieval French village, with absolutely stunning view over the most stunning countryside. The staff offered a warm welcome.
Review 42:We ate in the bistro which was a nice ambiance but the food was'nt up tobest standards. We were disappointed with the steak, my stew had a largepiece of orange peel in it which made it taste bitter and the plate ofcheese was ordinary. The service was good though.
Review 43:Beautiful old hill town. The room and staff were excellent and the hotelis right in the best aprt of town.
Review 44:The Front Staff were a bit abrupt - We arrived at a time when thetelephone was ringing all the time.Otherwise, the restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient
Review 45:The food and wine were outstanding! The Spa was of no interest to us.The rooms were adequate - not exceptional, but good value for moneyjust about.
Review 46:not much had changed
Review 47:A little oasis in a tiny town. The food in the restaurant was beyond this world, a great place to relax and recharge the batteries
Review 48:Nice location in pretty village
Review 49:No free wi-fi
