Reviews for Maison d'Hôtes Domaine de la Rhue

Review 1:great location, peace and quiet, the owners were very nice and helpful, very good breakfast with freshly made bread, beautiful walk to Rocamadour (1h)

Review 2:We adored this property & will return. This boutique hotel is run by two women (sisters) who have the talent to provide an unforgettable experience. The continental breakfast is generous & delicious. The furnishing is 'french country' at it's best.

Review 3:Although the place is few km away from the village, the place and view are so amazing that I wouldn't trade it with any other place in the village.

Review 4:Breathtaking views, unique architecture, and friendly, helpful and hospitable hosts. It was such a pleasure to stay there, the breakfast is delicious and their cornouille sirop is to die for!

Review 5:Loose rug on the floor is a hazard. Not a convenient location for dinner options. Shower needs a larger glass door. Garden door needs to remain unlocked when guests are there after check in or give them a key.

Review 6:Beautiful setting and garden. Lovely room with nice furnishings. Generous breakfast served at a reasonable time. Easy to find despite its remote location. Good parking situation. Very good wifi.

Review 7:Even though our room had a very good A/C unit, we had Lots of flies in our room~likely coming in from the main entrance door. The breakfast area (one day) also had a lot of flies.Maybe this problem could be solved by a screen door on the outside doors. A/C isn't really needed other than in the bedrooms.

Review 8:The 2 sisters who run this B&B out in the countryside could not be more accommodating. They have taken a very old building and converted it into a lovely guest house. They also gave us maps and great ideas of where to go in the area for wonderful sightseeing trips.

Review 9:Room was a bit cold.

Review 10:Beautiful countryside location close to Rocamadour. Stables have been restored with charm next to chateau. Very quiet and peaceful.

Review 11:A beautiful location in the country and close to Rocamadour. The accommodation was light and spacious, and our host Janice was delightful. We used it as a base for some great sights and activities, and some outstanding recommended restaurants

Review 12:The location was excellent, character and history of the building was fantastic. We were made really welcome and provided with a list of fascinating and interesting places to visit and local restaurants. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices.

Review 13:Beautifully done inn in stables of the old manor house next door. Large comfortable room with exposed wooden beams. Friendly host, relaxing. In the countryside outside Rocamadour. Good location for visiting area.

Review 14:Sleeping rooms were air conditioned but public areas were not. We had extremely warm weather while we were there.

Review 15:Rooms were excellent. The owners were very accommodating and very nice. The outdoor pool was excellent.

Review 16:A gorgeous property with a lovely family history. Big comfortable rooms. Lovely swimming pool. Extensive breakfast. Very friendly helpful family willing to advise on where to go in the surrounding area

Review 17:**Very** minor compliant, the bed (queen) was 2 doubles pushed together into one bed. So we had a huge crack running down the middle of the bed. For USA-ers this seems a bit strange but I have seen it in Europe many times, so maybe it's just me.

Review 18:Location is great, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Breakfasts were simple but delicious and satisfying. They have a piano! Overall had a great stay!

Review 19:Surrounded by a beautiful farm, the restored horse stables have been renovated with outstanding taste. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts were friendly and helpful in explaining the Rocamadour area.

Review 20:Guests could benefit from a couple of more WiFi hotspots added to the building, so that strong signal coverage is extended to the rooms as well.

Review 21:Everything was perfect!

Review 22:The hospitality was beyond first class, the hosts are the friendliest and warmest people I've ever met on many trips through France. The location is rural and so very peaceful but only a few miles from Rocamadour with lots of walking options nearby. The rooms are large and well equipped, also kept spotlessly clean on a daily basis. The hosts provide a hearty breakfast at your time of choice and help map out the sights to see nearby and further afield. The provided me with daily itineraries and ideas as well as marked maps. I wouldn't bother staying anywhere else when I'm back in this region. La Rhue is the best place to stay.

Review 23:We were forewarned but if you arrive late there is nothing and nowhere to eat! With a warning not to picnic in the room! I would have liked to be able to make tea.

Review 24:An exceptional setting in the converted stable block of the family chateau. Big comfortable rooms. Very helpful advice and directions over breakfast about how to best profit from the sights and what to see.

Review 25:we liked everything about Domaine de la Rhue, we were welcomed by Eric, who was a lovely kind man, who was always happy to chat and give useful information about places in the area to visit, our room was beautiful and all you could hear was the sounds of birds and sheep, such a peaceful place to stay

Review 26:-limited check in time on arrival, if you are late make sure they understand you will be arriving after published hours

Review 27:- petit dejeuner was just the right amount of food to start the day. -love country setting - hotel is still evolving so it allows you to imagine what is to come -lots of good travel hints from Eric

Review 28:This hotel is located a few miles / kilometers from Rocamadour. You must have a car to reach this hotel. What's great is that this place is far from the noise and crowds and general horror of touristy Rocamadour.

Review 29:Our host, Eric, was gracious and kind. The hotel is a remodeled farm house with grand proportions. The rooms are huge, private and very comfortable. The facilities are modern but they have preserved the architectural detail of the old structure in an inventive way. Free WiFi in the sitting rooms and common areas. A fine breakfast, a comfortable bed, and a great shower. Everything was splendid. Highly recommended.

Review 30:Spotlessly clean, extremely well organised, we were a little late in our arrival but they did not mind even though we got there an hour after they closed reception. Truly excellent value and a polite and helpful as could be. They even rang up and excellent arrival on our behalf as we had not eaten for hours. Highly recommended!

Review 31:Very serene!! The couple who own it are wonderfully gracious and accommodating. We hiked to Rocamadour from the Inn, which I strongly recommend doing. It was very rural and scenic. It was truly a great way to see the French countryside.

Review 32:Typically English complaint, really, but would like to have had access to tea and coffee making facilities. Not very near to any shops or restaurants so had to drive and not drink!

Review 33:Very helpful host, Eric, who gave us ideas of what to see in the local area and maps to guide us.

Review 34:Not a lot - would be nice for tea-tray...especially after a long day sight-seeing. Maybe a change of breakfast fruit.

Review 35:The location, Eric & Christine were lovely people. Helpful.

Review 36:A smell of old age, breakfast. Too far from Rocamadour. I would prefer to spend a night in Rocamadour itself.

Review 37:Very beautiful place, very nice building. Perfect nature around.

Review 38:Excellent countryside location, good walking area, beautiful building, graceful and spacious interior, very friendly welcome and service, large and well appointed bedroom with private bathroom, less than 10 mins in the car from Rocamadour.

Review 39:Our hosts were extremely gracious and helpful in letting us call the States to activate our cell phone and to make arrangements to replace a stolen passport. The accommodations were lovely and the breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. I wish we had had more time to relax at this beautiful manor house.

Review 40:Amazing accomodation and farbulous hospitality! Great location to visit Rocamadour and Padirac cave (only 10 minutes to drive).

Review 41:No tea and coffee facility in the room, considering the cost of the accomodation.

Review 42:Lovely setting and very friendly and helpful people. Good breakfast

Review 43:Wifi not available in rooms. Bed a little hard.

Review 44:Wonderful property. Very nicely decorated rooms. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast.

Review 45:Peaceful location for a relaxing break

Review 46:They have been induced into the secrets of English tea

Review 47:No TV in room and no wifi in room had to go to ajoining room

Review 48:Breakfast was one of the best in France

Review 49:The owner was very friendly and very helpful with making dinner reservations for us at a lovely restaurant, where dinner was excellent.

Review 50:For us the location and building was excellent. Eric was a perfect host. Breakfast comprehensive

Review 51:The steps into the swimming pool are extremely slippery and are an accident waiting to happen.

Review 52:Rocamadour - wonderful location.

Review 53:minor, but wifi only avaible in one shared room

Review 54:Friendly, knowledgeable host, with good English, lovely peaceful location, very clean and comfortable

Review 55:could do with 'refreshments' in lounge/reception

Review 56:quiet, peaceful location, good sized rooms, cleanliness, plentiful breakfast,

Review 57:the newly installed air-con was noisy

Review 58:Beautiful location and very friendly attentive hosts.

Review 59:Cant think of anything I didn't like about it. By the way, you MUST have your own transport. The remoteness (a couple of kms from the tarmac road) is part of the appeal.

Review 60:This is a wonderfully converted barn with six en suite bedrooms and a magnificent downstairs for breakfast and just sitting. Good sized pool. Great location for touring the Dordogne and with a one hour walk through the fields and woods to Rocamadour, one of the delightful medieval towns of the Dordogne. Knowledgable and friendly host and hostess.

Review 61:Nothing!

Review 62:Such a stunning building & bedrooms!!! The pool and garden were just gorgeous as well! So peaceful. The owner was really lovely as well!!

Review 63:Nothing to criticise.

Review 64:We found the ambiance very calm and welcoming, and the area was in the country without being remote. The room was very pretty and spacious, nice details. Bathroom was well equipped and separate from the WC, always a good thing! Breakfast was simple but substantial, and beautifully served.

Review 65:This was a wonderful residence with a superb host. The accommodation perfect and relaxing. Great location and excellent value for money. We will come again and recommend highly to others.

Review 66:A bit of a challenge to find, but worth it

Review 67:The hosts, Eric and Christine, both speak fluent English and are most helpful. The building is on the same property as a quite magnificent old chateau - in fact the downstairs dining area is a converted stables. Comfortable rooms and two sitting areas

Review 68:Nothing
