Reviews for Hôtel Le Glacier
Review 1:Nothing, loved this hotel and Orange.
Review 2:The location was perfect and the staff were very helpful, particulrily Sophie who was able to answer all of questions and provided excellent service. No problems with parking.
Review 3:The bed, personal preference was too soft for our comfort, bathroom was lovely and modern with a glass brick wall, had a light on automatic switch which as soon as you walked into the bathroom went on, with the glass brick wall let too much light into the bathroom woke me and unfortunately interrupted my sleep which spoiled an otherwise fantastic stay, however would not prevent us returning
Review 4:Everything was excellent from start of visit to end, staff friendly and very helpfull, property lovely and clean, would come back if in the area again. Everyone we spoke to outside of the hotel were also very helpfull. Would have like more time here.
Review 5:A gem of a hotel! Perfectly positioned in the town centre. The room - no. 40 - was large, with a four-poster bed, large TV and A/C. An extremely comfortable king-size bed gave us a good night's sleep during our stay. The hotel served food and drink outside with snacks and cakes available. We stayed here as we had tickets for a concert in the Roman amphitheatre and we will be staying here again for the next gig. Fully recommended!
Review 6:Parking is limited
Review 7:The location is excellent, an easy walk to the Roman theatre and most of the other historic sites; the room was big enough and the breakfast buffet was a good value.
Review 8:Room decor very dated and small and nothing like the pictures of rooms used to advertise the hotel on booking.com. I booked for our honeymoon and was a bit disappointed! We did pass nicer rooms than the one we stayed in so they aren't all like ours but it was a bit of a suprise given the modern look of the one they use to advertise the hotel.
Review 9:Good location, very friendly staff, clean rooms.
Review 10:The room, although on the small side, was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. Recently refurbished and clean. Breakfast was great with home made jams and yoghurts served in the very relaxing bar area. Would definitely return.
Review 11:We spent two nights here to break up the journey down to the south coast. The rooms were lovely and although quite small, the decor was very tasteful and the bathrooms modern and clean.
Review 12:Parking facilities left a lot to be desired. We did not have access to our car without contacting the staff to open the garage door. Our car was blocked by other parked cars, fortunately we did not need to move it until we checked out of the hotel but it would have been a problem had we wanted to use it regularly.
Review 13:The location was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 14:Our room was nothing like the pictures online. Seemed like the smallest, oldest room in the building. The air con was hideous - when it was on it was so noisy we couldn't sleep and when we turned it off the room was oppressively warm. There were cobwebs in the shower and on the bedroom ceiling. The room was shabby and not what we expected. We paid more for this terrible room than we did for a room in a beautiful 4* in Lyon the next night. Not value for money at all.
Review 15:The location was good and there was cheap parking on the street outside. The staff were friendly enough and the little bar was nice to sit in.
Review 16:Food for breakfast is self-served from a tiny room off the main dining room. Whilst a tidy solution it led to some confusion amongst guests. Obviously the hotel are aware of issues in this area since they had one of their staff full time assisting diners.
Review 17:Charming receptionists/waitresses. Laura in particular even accompanied me to their secure car park, avoiding the challenges of the Orange one-way traffic system. My room was delightful for a budget hotel.
Review 18:Wifi was really poor. The staff apologised, let me try another room and even offered to let me use the computer in their office, but they explained that there were lots of guests staying and that was maybe why the wifi was slow. There is a wifi slot for each floor, but I couldn't get my phone or my computer to stay connected for long. When it was connected, it was very slow.
Review 19:Lovely location, friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room.
Review 20:A room upgrade was a very nice surprise! Very clean facilities, interesting décor celebrating the region; extremely convenient location with secure, private parking, close to the ancient roman Amphitheatre. Excellent value for the money.
Review 21:Even though this hotel was designated as non-smoking it smelt like smoke in the foyer, 2nd floor corridors (in particular) and in our room. For this reason I wouldn't stay there again.
Review 22:Great location, friendly staff and nice breakfast.
Review 23:Too loud esp. morning with lorries around etc. Capsuled through market
Review 24:Location near old town, all in Walking distance, own Garage and friendly Reception
Review 25:We very much enjoyed our sweetly decorated room, and loved the breakfast in the morning! Don't neglect to taste the homemade jams...they are delightful, and you can buy jars to take home if you wish.
Review 26:Nothing.
Review 27:We liked the location: just around the corner from the amphitheater. The hotel has an outside seating area making it an interesting place to have a drink, while watching the world pass by. Good staff: we watched them help a couple, whose bike had a problem, fix it. They went out of their way to help. Kudos to the staff.
Review 28:Nothing bad to say
Review 29:The location of the hotel is excellent. Having a garage was a real bonus. The room was small but comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of variety. The manager and all the staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 30:We had an excellent room with very swish bathroom. Centrally situated loads of restaurants nearby. Take the tour bus otherwisee you'll miss loads.
Review 31:Internet although decent had to be logged back in regularly which wasfrustrating. Room was a bit dusty with cobwebs. Retrofit bathroom wassmall (very especially the toilet). No face clothes provided. Not surethat the 130 Euro price tag normally attached to the club room would beworth it, but as we paid the standard rate, was good value.
Review 32:Great location, on a really nice main street in Orange, but due toeffective double glazing was quiet. We were upgraded to a"club" room which came with a bigger bed which was nice. Niceside walk cafe for drinks. Good air conditioning. Orange is a very nicetown, very convenient for touring the Cote Du Rhone region. The cityhas some very interesting a Roman buildings and we also dined in nearbyChateauneuf-Du-Pape.
Review 33:We booked secure parking but this meant squeezing into the owners personal garage we were later informed that one can park outside easily in the pay and display bays which could be clearer on booking
Review 34:Very friendly and easily accessible. The room we had was a bit cramped but was still comfortable an clean. We travel with our dog and this was perfect for him
Review 35:The owners & staff were charming & very friendly. Our bedroom was spacious & very tastefully decorated. The breakfast selection was nice & very generous
Review 36:Nothing negative at all.
Review 37:Everything. The staff were great, the room the best we stayed in. The bed was ultra comfortable and the room was spotless. We intend to go back next year. 10 out of 10.
Review 38:There was no wifi anywhere in the hotel, even though it was advertised.
Review 39:The staff was friendly and breakfast was very good.
Review 40:No choice of pillows. Not type of pilliows that are comfortable for me.
Review 41:It was an excellent hotel with well appointed decor

Review 68:Location and bed comfort
Review 69:Everything in walking distance Public parking in front of hotel. Wednesday market in front of hotel.

Review 77:Location
Review 78:Right in the centre of town. Garage for the car.
Review 79:Wifi speed once connected very slow.
Review 80:Room we had faced the street with a small balcony, lots of light and fresh air.
Review 81:Smaller, semi-dated rooms and bathrooms
Review 82:Great location, lots to do within walking distance, parking was easy and staff was great!
Review 83:wi-fi doesn't work and minor damage in bathroom.

Review 87:Very small room
Review 88:automatic bathroom light. It did its own thing. came on during the night
Review 89:very good.helpful staff. clean and comfortable.
Review 90:Nothing
Review 91:A comfortable quality hotel in an excellent location. Lovely breakfast, excellent aircon and wifi, well furnished and comfortable room.
Review 92:Wi-Fi worked fine after our arrival but not the following morning.
Review 93:Arrived late due to train the receptionist welcomed us and was extremely helpful. She spoke good English and prepared a lovely soup as we were too tired for a full meal. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast to try to make our way south due to train strikes.
Review 94:Room was quite dated and cramped. Toilet flush handle behind panel in wall--and you stick your hand in to find lever.
Review 95:Close to Roman ruins. Room in back was quiet. Ample parking for big car.
Review 96:When we arrived on the hotel, we got attended immediately by a very friendly receptionist explaining us everything. The room was small, the decoration is a little bit strange, but very confortable. The hotel is very centric, but totally quiet and the WIFI works pretty good. We would recommend it without any doubt.
Review 97:It was a bit of a trek from the train station and if I'd have known, I would most likely have taken a cab.
Review 98:The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. I also really enjoyed the shower and water pressure. Most of my shower experiences in Europe have been underwhelming but not here. I would stay again in a heart beat.
Review 99:light in bathroom was automatic and did not go off for a long time. room was hot and stuffy wifi did not work in room so had to go downstairs to lobby-even then it was slow non-smoking hotel but cigarette smoke in hallway
Review 100:convenient location. very clean breakfast was adequate very friendly staff
Review 101:Teething issues with the automatic light in the bathroom. Came on a couple of times at night and woke us up.
Review 102:Great modern rooms with big comfortable beds. Monteverdi restaurant recommended by reception was fantastic and they have is free cocktail each because we were staying at the hotel. Staff spoke English and location was very central.
Review 103:WiFi signal weak, didn't work in room and occasionally in reception. Would have liked coffe making facilities in room.
Review 104:Staff pleasant, room clean. Position central.
Review 105:No lift to rooms with balconies. Just one flight, but quite steep. We would have struggled without the help of the the young man at reception. Wifi did not work well.
Review 106:It is obvious the owners of this small family hotel take pride in the accommodation they offer and it shows. We have stayed twice in this hotel and both times had balcony rooms at the front of the hotel. They were very nicely decorated with very comfortable beds. Bathrooms were tiny, but well designed and adequate. Staff were very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 107:No parking, the ceiling was moldy and the AC vent was falling apart.
Review 108:The location was great. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was good. The room was clean overall and the bathroom was roomy, clean and well lit.
Review 109:It was generally scruffy, quite ugly with a bizarre collection of old and tatty decorations. The room, described as superieur, was cheaply furnished, small and dark.
Review 110:The receptionist was helpful and charming.
Review 111:Breakfast cost additional 11 euros, which could have been includedbearing in mind the price we paid for 1 night which was 110 euros.
Review 112:Very nice recently refurbished hotel - spacious room with thoughtthrough interior design.
Review 113:Air-con had not been left on so it was 35 when we arrived in the room. Quickly rectifed. Room overlooked a very busy parking area with cars coming and going all the time. Maybe if there is a refurbished room at the back that would be the one to go for.
Review 114:Newly re-furbished room was quietly elegant but user friendly. I think we had number 56. Little balcony with two chairs and coffee table. Bed and pillows comfortable.
Review 115:We had a great stay at this hotel. Ideally positioned for exploring Orange. Our room was well appointed clean and spacious. The bed was comfy. We found the staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 116:Small bedroom located at the back. Quite noisy during the night.
Review 117:Good location in the city center with parking in front of the hotel. Friendly staff. Good size bathroom.
Review 118:Although well equipped, our double room and en-suite were so small and cramped so that there was barely enough space for us to pass each other.
Review 119:Convenient location not only for the seeing the city but also the Ardeche. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is comfortable albeit decorated in a quirky style which gives it character.
Review 120:Very friendly; very well located - easy access to town centre, sites of interest and motorway. Superior room absolutely excellent and very clean. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Review 121:Room #24 is tiny (we paid for superior plus). Lots of stairs (the lift was not near our room). Strange toilet (opposite side of the room to the bathroom, and no extractor fan).
Review 122:The location is convenient to the city centre, there is meter parking outside (free from 7pm-9am and on Sundays).
Review 123:The reception personnel were very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to the town center's cultural attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The atmosphere of the hotel is quaint.
Review 124:Some rooms seemed slightly better than others, which was a bit awkward when you booked two rooms at the same price.
Review 125:The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful! Rooms were clean and designed in a "cute" way. Perfect place to stay if you want to escape the crowds and overpriced hotels in Avignon to explore the Provence area. Would definitely stay again.
