Reviews for Plas Tirion B&B

Review 1:The only small glitch was the size of the bathroom which meant doing a pirouette around the door, dislodging the holder which was already hanging off.

Review 2:The manager gave me travel information by text which proved to be very useful. She was very welcoming and couldn't do enough. She was great! The bed was better than mine at home and that's the first time I've ever been able to say that! Breakfast was very good, with local jams to boot.

Review 3:The drain in the shower was partially blocked. Wifi connection was non existent in the bedroom.

Review 4:The room was very spacious and cosy.(superior twin/double) Loved the tea selection in the room.

Review 5:Spotless, comfortable and very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely book again when I travel to this stunning area.

Review 6:Brilliantly positioned for snowdonia and Bangor. Friendly and efficient staff Flexible to suit our needs Lovely big rooms Hop, skip and a fart from an excellent pub!

Review 7:Nothing to report

Review 8:Quiet rural location, convenient for many places of interest. Very friendly greeting from staff and beautifully clean with good quality fittings and furniture. Will book again !!

Review 9:Location was a bit out of the way of anything. No shop in walking distance and a pub over the road is the only close place to eat.

Review 10:Nice clean and cosy room. Breakfast was really good and the staff really friendly and helpful.

Review 11:Certainly not worth £70 for a single room B&B. Not as described, i.e. luxurious. Drab decor. Our bedroom was small. Our breakfasts were all tepid. Poor mobile signal. Car park was away from the property. Door bell not working. Shower fitting head secured with an elastic band! Bedroom door handle hanging off. etc etc......

Review 12:Location was quiet. Comfortable bed.

Review 13:Tiny bathroom No change of towels Bins not emptied No spare loo roll Room described as "de-luxe double with mountain view" but it wasn't "de-luxe" and there was no view of the mountains.

Review 14:Friendly owner and staff Comfy bed Recently renovated and redecorated Good breakfast

Review 15:At the higher end of the price bracket I would be happy paying for a B&B, catch on sash window broken, cobwebs in chandelier, nothing that would put me off staying there again! Being picky though :-)

Review 16:Friendly staff, very comfortable bed, clean & tidy premises, thoughtful décor, decent breakfast, good signal on Wi-Fi, quiet area at night, good location to decent pub, within a few steps.

Review 17:Sorry to say but a big no no is stained sheets. The breakfast was belowaverage as the dresser had nothing on it. A really small amount of freshfruit, 1 strawberry! The cooked breakfast was really poor quality.Really sorry looking eggs and a miserable sausage. Not great. Would helpif the owners were a presence. The young lady who greeted us was reallynice but no host. And our booking had not been given to the pub. I knowwe should have bought our complaints up as they occurred but as theowner was nowhere to be seen what would we have achieved.

Review 18:The bathroom needs urgent repair, the fittings were all a bit loose and the loo seat was very unstable. We stayed in room one, a twin, which was otherwise very pleasant.

Review 19:The pub over the road served great food and was very helpful when we arrived late by mistake. Young lady running the place also very helpful and nice.

Review 20:Everything was clean, except for the floor. They clearly forgot to vacuum. The room was on the small side.

Review 21:Friendly reception, breakfast was good. Nice countryside view from room.

Review 22:Plas Tirion is well signed with roadside boards directing you into the village and has a pub literally across the road which does good food with big servings. The pub dining room is nicely decorated but if you just go for a drink expect sticky worn seating in the bar. This B&B is very conveniently situated for Llanberis and is just off the A5/A55.However it is run by a non-resident landlady who relies on 2 young girls to run it for her and the bottom line is profit not your convenience or comfort. We never saw the landlady in our 2 nights there. It is easy to find but not easy to get in. Every room is let thus you need to phone to get let in. However there is no mobile signal and the public phone box round the corner doesn't work. Eventually the next door neighbour let me use his phone to contact one of the young girls who does the work and said it happens all the time. When we got in the room it was obvious it hadn't been swept as there were bits all over the carpet. The room was airy and light but the window looked over a pile of rubbish in the garden, discarded boxes etc.The bathroom was tiny and you virtually had to sit on the toilet to close the door and get to the sink/shower. Also the toilet didn't flush properly and the seat wouldn't rest against the cistern without falling down. The place is easy to find but is just 50 yards off a commuter route even though it looks isolated on a map so there is considerable traffic noise from quite early in the morning. We left towels in the shower tray to be replaced as they had blood on them after I had a nose bleed . Were they replaced as would be expected virtually any other establishment. No. They were simply folded whilst still wet and put back on the towel shelf. There was no spare toilet roll. My wife used the phone by the front door to contact the owner. The sign by the phone says contact me if you have any problems in very helpful language. Was she helpful? No.

Review 23:That the owner wasn't living there. Which could have been . We asked her to book a table at the pub across the road but when we arrived it had not been booked.

Review 24:The hotel was clean

Review 25:Wifi non-existent upstairs. Waited ages for breakfast. Nobody onsite overnight. Tablecloth dirty. Tables not cleared at breakfast. Shouldn't be 4star. Overpriced

Review 26:Lovely room, lovely bed. Nice bathroom and shower. Pub across road serves food.

Review 27:Smelly bed linen and smelly towels we dont think the linen had been changed on our arrival. Two days on we eventually asked them to change the linen and the problem went away. Service was terrible with very young inexperienced and unqualified staff waiting on. This made for a frustrating time at breakfast for what was either cool and undercooked food being served to us. We very nearly left early to look for somewhere else to stay based on the staff.

Review 28:Lovely room

Review 29:Did not have room chosen. Specified husband had difficulty walking and found they had a downstairs room! Never met owners, Young girls did food etc. Paid bill in ironing room which was a mess. not inspiring. Our room was very small and difficult in bathroom

Review 30:cleanliness of room and dining area

Review 31:The only thing I would change about the Hotel would be the breakfast a little Small Very nice but Small but that said enjoyed it all the same .

Review 32:We loved the accommodation very Clean though our Bed was Very comfortable, location was great for us a short drive to climb Snowdon, and also the pub over the Road was lovely food and Staff very friendly and helpful, would recommend to anyone Thank you for a great two night Stay Phil & Tracey

Review 33:Breakfast which was rather light (vs price of room) and quite long to obtain. We were even told one day that there was no egg left because Sophie was out!

Review 34:Location in the middle of the countryside even close to Bangor Well decorated house ans very clean

Review 35:You can,t run a B&b with a group of young sters with no experience . Breakfast was a disaster and embarrassing this was not a cheap overnight stay. Owner needs to sort it out .

Review 36:Nice room

Review 37:Service and breakfast not good. Not many options. Waited so long to have our breakfast. Seems that inexperienced staff serving breakfast.

Review 38:Location was really good. Nice and spacious room

Review 39:Breakfast was badly arranged bij the young girls. There is no-one present in the house during the day (and night) only when guests arrive or leave.

Review 40:Nice comfortable room, good bed. Quiet location and good pub in the area.

Review 41:Unwelcoming staff who seemed very disinterested. Breakfast was unpleasant - worse than little chef! This place needs a fundamental rework. The absence of a caring owner really shows.

Review 42:The room's presentation was very nice and clean.

Review 43:Very accommodating staff, we were looked after before we even arrived. Excellent location as we were taking part in the Zip line which was 10 minutes drive away. We travelled with a baby and room 1 was huge. Travel cot provided by the hotel was perfect

Review 44:Room not serviced (apart from making the bed) for duration of our stay.Ensuite in our room was unbelievably small. No staff onsite except at breakfast time and when they are expecting people to arrive.

Review 45:Good location for seeing the sights of Snowdonia and northern Wales.Breakfast OK and fresh fruit was good - but would be nice to have serving spoons for the fruit.

Review 46:Breakfast made and served by two pleasant very young girls sadly lacked any finesse. Advertised as affordable luxury however breakfast and service let it down. Taken into a very scruffy untidy room to pay our bill not at all professional.

Review 47:Presentation / cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms

Review 48:No staff on site, this must be a health and safety problem. Waiting for staff to arrive to cook breakfast which was barely edible. To expensive for s delapidsted tired property.how ever did it get a 4* rating this should be checked.

Review 49:Location

Review 50:First impression - messy unkempt garden, no one there for check in. The neighbor had to call. The room was very large, but no place to put anything. No suitcase stand, desk, etc. Just an old fashioned dressing-table. Toilet seat broken and faucet wiggly. Cookies were not homemade - store bought. I was there two nights. Waste basket in bathroom not cleaned out the next morning and I had the feeling the bed had not been made properly - the sheets more or less thrown over. Last impression - when I asked to pay in Pounds rather than my currency I was told that it was too complicated for the book-keeping.

Review 51:The convenience of the pub across the street. I feel sorry for the young and nice lass trying her best to run this place, but she is way over her head.

Review 52:a miscommunication between booking.com and the B and B owner meant that we were not effectively booked in for the night and had to complain just to actually get into our room. although it eventually worked out for us under worse circumstances we could have been stranded a long way from home with nowhere to stay!

Review 53:The bedroom was clean and spacious. Nice little touch with homemade cookies and fresh milk. Comfy bed and powerful shower. Excellent service and lovely breakfast.

Review 54:Not really a dislike as breakfast was very tasty but took ages to arrive as there was a big group of 6 ahead of us.

Review 55:Beds really comfortable and room very clean. Welcome staff very friendly. Pub across road good for dinner.

Review 56:A few things in bathroom need a fix ie loose tap in sink!

Review 57:Very accomodating to our needs we had to leave before breakfast was served so they made sure we had some available to us.

Review 58:Breakfast organisation was poor, perhaps only just getting routine settled. No one about on coming down, like the Marie Celestte but it was all far too slow happening. Had to go off one day without as weather was forecast to close in in the afternoon. Over an hour from sitting down, food was lovely, but toast very hard and tasteless. Staff lovely though, perhaps practise will make perfect.

Review 59:Tranquil location lovely room and wonderful nights sleeps on a lovely bed

Review 60:The bathroom could have been a little bigger, was a little crammed, but nothing to major, and looked lovely.

Review 61:Greeted by such a lovely man, was a great way to start the stay, booked us in for a meal across the road, the bed was extremely comfy, the breakfast was delicious. All round great stay.

Review 62:Sophie and team were happy to go out of their way to accommodate us (late arrival due to bank holiday traffic and use of showers after a cycle post check out). The room was clean and perfect for our stay, the bed was so comfortable! Great location in Snowdon, only ten minutes from ZipWorld Velocity.

Review 63:Bathroom was a bit tight

Review 64:Outstanding bed, just melted into it and slept very very well. The manager was the best. She arranged an evening meal spot for us.

Review 65:No phone reception and wifi didn't work.

Review 66:location....with pub right across the road serving good food we arrived late, could settle in and then nip across the road for a bite to eat.

Review 67:Bathroom rather small and cramped. Next to a fast road; other drivers angry Bedroom too warm overnight

Review 68:Good location. Nice views. Near to snacks or meals

Review 69:Very comfortable double room with ensuite. Whole building appears to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. Lovely choice at breakfast time. Quiet location. Must recommend the pup across the road for the quality of their food. Lovely time in Wales.

Review 70:Sophie was wonderful and we had everything we needed for a perfect stay.
