Reviews for Mas de la douceur

Review 1:This address is not registered in some car navigation system. So it was tough to reach to the hotel. Maybe any guidance would be helpful for potential visitors.

Review 2:All. Especially kind and excellent hospitality by owner.

Review 3:A small warm farm house with a few rooms only. Location was great as a base to explore surrounding villages and sites. Dinner can be booked if you prefer not to drive after drinking.

Review 4:Jean Patrick and his wife, Florence, were very hospitable and cooked us some wonderful meals in the evenings. The room was spacious and very well maintained. The property is well situated for a visit to the beautiful Luberon region

Review 13:Not one thing

Review 14:To start, I have to say Florence and Jean Patrick are two of the nicest people in the world and this makes the Mas the la Douceur one of the greatest places in Provence. What did we like? The fact that they were flexible on the arrival time (we got there at midnight), the cleanliness and tastefulness of the rooms, the delicious breakfasts and dinner that Florence & JP prepared for us, the pets they have around the house, the pool…everything.

Review 15:This place is wonderful. Idyllic is what comes to mind, actually. Out of the four places I stayed in France, it was by far the best. By far. There is a plane (sycamore) tree right outside a window. Because it's in a rural area, there is no light pollution, so you can see a lot of stars when you come at night, so very peaceful. It's a converted French farm with a location that makes for a great base for Provence exploration. It reminded me of a country bed-and-breakfast in USA, a place where you can go for a weekend to get away from it all. Relaxing and romantic. My room was spacious, tasteful, and very clean. The heat worked great because it had a new digital temperature unit in the room so you could adjust the temperature (a big plus in the fall!). It looks like the place has been very recently renovated. The practical details were taken care of, such as presence of a full-sized hair dryer, and local Provence hand soup was a nice finishing touch. I wish we had the dinner on the first day of my stay instead of the last! It was one of the best meals I had in France, and the company was a real pleasure. There is a great old fireplace in the dining room, and I still remember the sound of chestnuts crackling in it. My friends and I had a wonderful time talking to the owners. The couple who owns the place are local, and they know where to find the true bouillabaisse in Marseille and what clothes stores have better prices (I liked Zara). It was awesome to get their opinion on what local sites are really worth seeing and the ones that can be skipped, and to see what they thought of our the travel guide we used to plan our trip. To sum it up, it's a fantastic place to stay. I can't recommend it highly enough!

It was easy to visit all the important villages in Provence from this base and the owners gave some extra tips to our journey which was very useful. So I absolutely recommend this place for anybody.
