Reviews for L'herbier d'Orange
Review 1:Breakfast unimaginative and no decaf coffee Hard to find hotel in labyrinth of town centre one way system
Review 2:Central location Friendly and helpful staff Lovely room
Review 3:If visiting with a car, be prepared for some inconvenience, due to the one-way system and the secure public car parking is 5 minutes walk away.
Review 4:Great location in terms of proximity to Tourist Office, restaurants and the Roman theatre. The breakfast room is also very pleasant, bright and well organised.
Review 5:The location is fantastic. Within a block of the theatre. Lots of good restaurants near. Reception was very helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
Review 6:Getting to the hotel can be a bit difficult on the narrow streets, that sometimes are closed to cars. Suggest parking in nearby lot (a couple of blocks) and walking. Stairs could be an issue for some guests. No elevators.
Review 7:Comfortable and in the heart of town near everything. Great value for the price, especially for families.
Review 8:We had only booked for 2 nights .... very convenient location so would stay longer another time
Review 9:Our host, Natalie, was very welcoming and friendly. The location was excellent, though tricky to find the first time. Great to have the public car park close by so that we didn't have to negotiate the narrow streets. The room was spacious for the three of us and we had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast in the little square outside was a real treat.
Review 10:The night we stayed there, there was a outdoor concert in the square. The staff warned us and provided earplugs. (the band suck, by the way) It was unseasonably hot while we were there, so the comfort of airconditioning was missed - especially since this meant we needed to leave the window open for fresh air (and that the band sucked). One couple in our party had a room that looked straight at a brick wall, and our bathroom had only partition walls that did not go to the ceiling. Awkward.
Review 11:This hotel was smack in the middle of where you want to be. Great place to find restaurants, or wander around sightseeing. Old structures - Arc de Triumphe, Roman Theatre - are minutes away by foot. We did not move the car once during our stay, but it also was a couple of blocks away in a city car parking lot.
Review 12:Fantastic location in the centre of the old city, extremely friendly owners, helpful and smart, bautiful room, comfortable, breakfast in the private garden
Review 13:Terrible restroom!!! you will find roach! I do not know how the hotel reception can keep arguing and refusing to admit this! please do not forget to take a photo for debating when you find roach or others. it is a nightmare!
Review 14:manca un posto dedicato allo scarico delle valigie dall'auto
Review 15:la posizione centrale dell'albergo, l'arredo della camera era piacevole in tono con la Provenza
Review 16:No bad experience, however, the bathroom in room 12 was a little cramped.
Review 17:Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located with access to secure public parking, located 3 mins walk away. Premises are spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are excellent value for money, compared to the norm, and the owners put their own personal touch with hot crepes.
Review 18:The room felt a little bit run down and could do with a small renovation / upgrade to meet current standards.
Review 19:Very friendly reception, location right in the heart of the old town and spacious room.
Review 20:Shower is quite small. Would be nice bonus to have a coffee station or fridge facility to keep at least cold water.
Review 21:Pleasant smell, modern colours, cleanliness, effective air-condition to cool down in hot weather and friendly staff. Style full serving of breakfast. Excellent location.
Review 22:Loading and unloading luggage is a challenge if you are use to more pavement and wider streets, otherwise locals understand and patiently wait. Bathroom was a little tight for two people.
Review 23:A stone throw from the Roman ruins, museum, good restaurants and fun tourist shops. The owner is energetic, extremely helpful and offered a delicious breakfast with crepes. We got the last room which was quiet and comfortable.
Review 24:Standard double room was a little basic with cold tile floor which could have been a little warmer with carpeting or rugs. Otherwise all very convenient and comfortable.
Review 25:Helpful manager who took the time to sought out car rental problem.
Review 26:The rooms, while nice, do not correspond exactly to those pictured.
Review 27:Staff was really nice, breakfast was great, great service, nice quiet rooms. Decent bathroom.
Review 28:Lack of privacy in small en-suite shower room.
Review 29:Location, friendliness, parking arrangements, excellent breakfast with freshly made crêpes. View of square from room 10.
Review 30:nothing!
Review 31:We only stayed one night, but it would be a wonderful place to stay for several nights. We enjoyed a lovely late afternoon, relaxing and sipping wine by the pool amid the pretty rounds. Guest have access to their own kitchen/stove refrigerator (great for chilling wine and storing goodies). Breakfasts were excellent and ample. Our Bedroom and bathrooms were very large and overlooking the picturesque countryside (highly recommended) and the hosts were exceptionally nice, helpful and accommodating.
Review 32:Orange town fair but a bit scruffy
Review 33:Hotel location Staff great Had free tickets to Theatre show (Amazing bonus) after visiting theatre bar across road, thanks very much.

Review 43:Lovely hotel in a great location and super friendly owners who made us feel at home.
Review 44:Simply fantastic.
Review 45:large room and large bathroom centrally located
Review 46:WiFi was no good Bathroom was not so comfortable
Review 47:Friendly staff
Review 48:We enjoyed everything. This was a return visit to Orange after 34 years, we still love it. Thank you
Review 49:Be prepared that the bathroom is not isolated enough from the room - the walls of the bathroom do not reach the ceiling
Review 50:The hostess and the location
Review 51:La situation et l'accueil
Review 52:staff were very helpful and willing
Review 53:Parking a little distance away. Small shower.
Review 54:Good town for using as a base for other towns.people friendly.
Review 55:The room was clean but simple
Review 56:Friendster staff, location great an breakfast good.
Review 57:In the centre of the old town, in the old "noble " building, room with chimney and moulded decorations on the ceiling!
Review 58:It's getting a bit run down in the furnishings
Review 59:Interesting building in heart of Orange
Review 60:hard to find and to get with the car
Review 61:close to everything
Review 62:some rooms have no AC
Review 63:clean and nice hotel situated on lovely little square right behind Roman monument.
Review 64:Little tricky to find and access via car but well worth it!
Review 65:The location, the breakfast and the staff
Review 66:The staff are very kind, the room is very comfortable. It is a good choice if you select this hotel.
Review 67:shower door had a very small opening in our room
Review 68:great location, lovely staff, clean basic accommodation
Review 69:Nothing.
Review 70:The reception was warm, friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay here again. The location was excellent, just around the corner from the Roman Theatre.
Review 71:I really recommend this place. Natalie was a brilliant host and very helpful, allowing us to leave our bicycles safely in the locked garden. Excellent location and very friendly hosts. Thanks again Natalie.
Review 72:Difficult to locate the hotel.Parking impossible. One has to quickly unload luggage and be away.
Review 73:Friendly owners. Located close to the Theatre Antique.
Review 74:The not-so family-friendly French law that requires for small kids (no matter what age!) - even if they share their parents' double beds - to book extra beds or rooms. This privileges solo or DINK travellers and punishes families.
Review 75:great central location close to all sites & restaurants
Review 76:We couldn't have asked for a better location in Orange. Right in the middle of Old Town and very close to Roman Theater and other ancient landmarks. The owners, Natalie and Jean-Luke, are absolutely wonderful people. They work so hard to keep their hotel clean and welcoming for their guests. They serve a delicious breakfast and are very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, shops, etc. The hotel is a straight and moderate walk to the train station. I highly recommend the L'Herbier d'Orange!
Review 77:The room and bathroom, both very worn out. L'Herbier d'Orange doesn't have an elevator. It was no problem for us but it can be if you have any mobility issue.
Review 78:L'Herbier d'Orange has a perfect location in the city centre. It is located on a beautiful small square, one minute away from the Roman Theater. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a triple room, poorly decorated and very worn out, especially the bathroom. The window faced a wall at the backyard. Very disappointing, given the "Provence Style" outside appearance. The breakfast was simple but good: orange juice, tea, croissant and baguette. We stayed in Easter, so we even had chocolate Easter eggs! The breakfast room is pleasant and nicely decorated. Parking is few blocks away, free on Sundays and Holidays. L'Herbier d'Orange doesn't have an elevator. It was no problem for us but it can be if you have any mobility issue.
Review 79:Car parking was a small problem but it is an historic city with small streets so probably to be expected.
Review 80:Central location, clean functional rooms and reasonably priced breakfast.
Review 81:Getting the wifi plug to work.
Review 82:We loved our double room overlooking the flower bedecked square. We didn't mind the pleasant sounds of people dining late in the courtyard of the restaurant next door. Can't beat the price or the location.
Review 83:Bars closed too early, 10.30pm most nights.
Review 84:Helpfulness of the staff. Allowed to sit in back garden with own food and drink. Even offered cutlery, plates and glasses. Hotel situated right in the middle of all the restaurants and bars.
Review 85:This is a delightful small hotel. The rooms have been redecorated and are in excellent condition. The owner is very friendly and helpful, she speaks good English and is always happy to chat with guests. The breakfast has a good variety of choices and includes pancakes. The hotel is very well situated beside a small square and places of historical interest. We would happily stay here again.
Review 86:Nothing!
Review 87:The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was very good. The location was good. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely go there again and recommend this hotel to friends.
Review 88:Nothing. A very pleasant stay and would like to return
Review 89:Very friendly reception. Freshly decorated and attractive room. Very good location in a quiet square in the centre of Orange. Nice breakfast room with good breakfast.
Review 90:The location is excellent, right in the city centre. The staff is very nice and friendly - we felt immediately like home. The breakfast is really excellent, especially the freshly prepared crepes. Everything was just... excellent!
Review 91:Hotel very hard to reach in the middle of the old town (difficult tofind, difficult to drive into the small roads); hotel parking far awayand no good description. We did not get anything close to our wishes,E.G. room facing to the little square.
Review 92:Situated in the middle of the old town
Review 93:I liked the friendly and accommodating reception, and the well-thought-out design -- everything had a purpose, but was of a good design; small spaces, but all needs accounted for, and everything worked. It was clean and bright, and just what I wanted for an over-night stay. I would stay there again if I was going to be in the area.
Review 94:The breakfast was pricey for cold food (no eggs or cooked meat), and the Internet didn't work from the room (worked great from the breakfast area though).
Review 95:Fantastic location and beautiful town square where we had breakfast each morning at the L'Herbier outdoor tables. Owner/staff was very nice. The room was comfortable and we loved the stone walls and view into the courtyard.
Review 96:Our ensuite bathroom had walls that didn't reach ceiling -this meant bathroom was really an enclosure in corner of room. Lacked privacy when sharing a room with freinds!
Review 97:Excellent location - friendly staff - simple and clean rooms -great for short stay
Review 98:The bed in the double room is not a regular double, it´s a 1,5 bed where sleeping for 2 is not comfortable at all.
Review 99:Nice room, very good location. If you park your car in the streets around the hotel (we parked less than 100 meters away from the hotel), it's cheaper than the garage and you pay until 19:00 and after 9:00 in the morning.
Review 100:Superficially welcoming, this hotel is fairly inflexible and one pays for the reputation of the region and town without getting good value. It has somewhat odd decor inside rooms with the bathroom walls not rising to the ceiling, less than ideal hygiene.
Review 101:Good location.
Review 102:Room No 14 has window coming out at closed backyard and it smells. Nolift but three levels to climb. Room No 10 (if remember correctly hasbathroom directly on the entrance to the room. Coffee cost 2.50 Euro.
Review 103:Fantastic location. Clean. Great owners - English speaking. Goodatmosphere. Nice pictures on the walls.
Review 104:The booking.com rooms have either no windows or windows looking atoposite wall. Hotel was empty when we arrived and we got rather averageroom. Generally room was ok but I would expect something more thenstudent dormitory style for such price.
Review 105:Location.
Review 106:Good and friendly staff, nice environment and a perfect position for avisit to the city. The hotel is situated in the historical center, soyou have to leave the car in some public parking areas in the streetsaround. Not a problem, anyway.
Review 107:Location and lovely staff.
Review 108:The staff were wonderful and ever so helpful. We had a lovely stay right in the centre of Orange, a beautiful town.
Review 109:parking was too far away, combined with their effective late check-in time forced us to pick luggage separately
Review 110:location
Review 111:Very clean comfortable, great location, great value for money. Exceeded my expectations. Lovely little square right behind Roman monument.
Review 112:The town of Orange was a bit disappointing; rather run down and not a lot to do.
Review 113:Very friendly staff at reception. Right in the town centre.
Review 114:Parking a problem too far from hotel.
Review 115:Welcoming owners very helpful . Clean comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
Review 116:Our room faced the stree and was noisy and light. Bring ear plugs and a face mask.
Review 117:Great location to see the city and good value for our money
Review 118:bitten by bed bug difficult doorway into room
Review 119:very friendly staff and excellent location.
Review 120:poor value for money , max grade should be 5 not 8.5
Review 121:The location of the Hotel within the town of Orange.
