Reviews for Callander Hostel
Review 1:This was the most beautiful, comfortable and welcoming hostel I've ever stayed in! Definitely a luxury hostel and the staff gave great advice on places to visit. Good location in Callander - everything you need is within walking distance and you can explore the park by car easily.
Review 2:The hostel is very close to the center of the village, the bus station and supermarkets. It is in a very old and beautiful building. It’s rather quiet at night, but gets a bit noisy in the morning because of cars driving along the road. Every thing looks recent and it’s clean, including rooms and the kitchen. There is a nice garden at the back, don’t forget to go there if it’s sunny. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. It’s been a pleasure to meet Christian at the reception desk !
Review 3:The carpet in the bedroom was wet because of a plumbing issue. The mirror was small and for some unknown reason hidden behind pretend doors.
Review 4:The view from the garden was stunning. The facilities and room were fine.
Review 5:There was no breakfast included but we where lucky that there wheredoing a charity breakfast for £6.00 per person which we took advantageand well worth the money thoroughly enjoyed it also a raffle which wewon two prizes brilliant would defiantly recommend to friends..
Review 6:Double room lovley and comfortable very clean and spacious..staff wherepolite and very helpful would stay again if in the area..well doneeveryone and the younger staff too they were lovely...
Review 7:Log burner in communual area not functioning. Would have added to atmosphere.
Review 8:Comfy beds, ensuite rooms, great communual area and kitchen. 5mins walk into town. Beautiful old building. Happy and fun staff. Private car park. Great views from garden at rear.
Review 9:In a 3 night stay the coffee/tea and milk was not replenished in the room. Only Saturday was the room cleaned, it was left untouched Sunday.
Review 10:The price was good value at £20 each per night for a twin room. The place was generally clean and tidy.
Review 11:was not given a towel (may be for rent), no lounge zone - only a space belonging to a cafe
Review 12:individual charges and also usb charges for every bed, convinient kitchen wifi is avaliable everywhere, big car park with childs entertainments
Review 13:The breakfast was very poor. The staff did not appear to know what to do. Scrambled eggs had separated and were served on a cold plate. We had to make our own toast but there was no butter. The hostel is a community project aimed at employing local people which is admirable, but it needs to make its mind up whether it is a hostel, cafe or youth club. Currently this is detracting from its great potential.
Review 14:This is advertised as a hostel but the bedroom and bathroom was excellent, clean, comfortable and fresh and much better than you would expect at a hostel. We were told that they had only been open for accommodation for 2 weeks. The staff were friendly.
Review 15:Nothing!
Review 16:Enjoyed our first stay at a hostel - all staff helpful and friendly - knowledgeable about the area.

Review 22:The bed was excellent, friendly helpful staff
Review 23:Banging fire door but already in discussion direct about rectifying closure speed.
Review 24:Very clean and large room. Nearby some good pubs. (eg Waverley)
Review 25:Large clean room, great bed
Review 26:Kitchen hadn't been finished yet. And some curtains are needed in the bathroom to obscure view from road. Some power points/lights on beds not working yet.
Review 27:The hostel had recently been refitted when I stayed. (I think I was the first person to use the shower!). Was all very clean and new. Electronic door opener is flash.
