Reviews for Apple House Guesthouse Heathrow Airport
Review 1:I would never use this guest house again if you can call it a guest house very small room no facilities kept awake all night with door banging opposite and heavy footsteps above us. Not worth the money we paid for it
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:Like everyone. The guy there, although pleasant, speaks very little English. Totally overpriced for fundamentally a room in a domestic house. Very small room if it were for two people. And a very unsuitable 'sexual' picture above the bed. I'm not a prude in the slightest, but it really was inappropriate.
Review 4:Very clean and quiet.
Review 5:It would have been helpful to have the suggestion of taking the shuttle bus to and from the Marriot Hotel, as the taxi fare quoted was ridiculous. It took me 2 hours and a lot of worry to discover how to reach it cheaply. The walk from the bus took about 10 minutes.
Review 6:A convenient one-night stopover for the airport with an early start. Quiet considering so close to the .
Review 7:There was no bottom sheet on the bed and the mattress cover was stained and had hairs on it. When I went to complain there was no one to complain to, there was no staff anywhere.
Review 8:Got woken up with other guests being noisy, moving their bags around at about 2am.
Review 9:Location was fantastic, and it was an easy walk out to the main road where I could catch a free shuttle to Heathrow. The room was ample, with ensuite and wifi. I would stay here again in the future.
Review 10:Person on duty at reception could not understand or speak English very well which created a communication issue. He did not seem to understand what I was asking. so was not very helpful- became very frustrating
Review 11:quiet, peaceful,
Review 12:the guy that met us was friendly enough, but spoke very little english, so it was hard to communicate. the house is not very well signed, though it is just a terrace house on a residential street.
Review 13:The pub down the road is great, though a little expensive.
Review 14:After staying in 2 dreadful hotels in London and Paris of a similar price, it was great to come to a room that was so fresh and newly decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were also very helpful.
Review 15:The quietness became discomforting at a point because it always seemed I was alone in the entire apartment apart from the young man who sits alone in a small room that looked like the reception
Review 16:I liked the cleanliness and serenity of the place.
Review 17:Staff came to the door after 4 knocks and I had to call through the letterbox. Guy very very inadequate command of English. I was furious that he ordered my taxi at 3.45 a.m and not 4.30 as requested.
Review 18:Low price. Good clean modern shared bathroom.
Review 19:We were on a bus and dropped off on the edge of town. Had to walk dragging luggage to find a taxi- arrived at the house and had a young man walk up the stairs to show us the room - no offer to take any luggage with him! Tea area not cleaned up from last guest
Review 20:Room was not clean, dirty underwear under the bed, sink clogged up, leftover toiletries from previous resident. porter could not communicate in english
Review 21:nothing
Review 22:Room not prepared. Took some time to get extra linen and towels. Overall poor service. Room very small. Cost £17 for taxi from LHR - it wasn't that close to LHR.
Review 23:WIFI
Review 24:The young man who grunted at me upon arrival either didn't know much English or just didn't deem talking to me part of his job description. it was impossible to sleep with the other guests talking, moving around. Taking showers at 3am in the communal area next to my room. Creaking floorboards l, flushing toilets. Arriving and leaving. Slamming doors. This went on all night. There is no sound proofing in the walls like hotels and the doors were paper thin so all noise like in a house carried. Will not return.
Review 25:The location was good. The pre arranged parking was available. It was cheap. The room was clean and modern and had everything you need for an overnight stop.
Review 26:Only one small towel provided - would be nice to have a larger bath towel as well Wifi fine for browsing, but I found it unreliable for more demanding tasks Poorly signposted - just the house sign
Review 27:The bed was amazingly comfortable - loved it, better than mine at home! (duvet a little thin, but the room was plenty warm enough, so not an issue) The bathroom was very clean Nice decorative touches
Review 28:Unfortunately the room was no more than 10 x 8. When luggage is involved there was hardly any place to put anything. With two people sharing the room it felt very cramped. The staff member on duty had diffficulty understanding our questions about car parking. There are only two car parking spaces at this establishment and both spots were taken before we arrived. There is limited street parking, it seems.
Review 29:The room and ensuite were spotlessly clean. This tiny guest house, although in a suburban street, was very close to Heathrow Airport which was the purpose of staying here. It was an easy walk to the pub at the end of the street where we got an excellent meal.
Review 30:No tea/coffee making facilities in room as advertised
Review 31:I arrived late, around 9.30pm for an overnight stay. Was showed to my room. Comfortable double bed and free wifi instructions clearly displayed in the room
Review 32:Had to go for a wee walk to the bar at the Marriott to find something to eat, as we were not allowed into the local pub with our 16 year old. Only other option was McDonalds.
Review 33:We stayed for one night in January because we needed to be close to the airport for our 6.30am international flight. The room was basic but clean, with good shower pressure in the little ensuite, good wi fi and good tv reception.
Review 34:We arrived at the estimated time to find no answer when knocking the door. We phoned and phoned and phoned whilst continuing to knock with no answer atall. Standing there in the cpld with luggage and a baby. After 30 minutes someone walked past us and put a key in the door without saying a word to us. I called for his attention and he grunted at me, do you have a reservation. He barely said two words to us when taking us to the room. Handed us the key and walked away. Disgusting attitude. He looked about 16. The guest house is not manned and there is no breakfast service at all. Never will we use this place again
Review 35:The country pub round the corner serving delicious meals
Review 36:Great room with 1 x double and 1 x single bed, neat little bathroom, TV & Wi-Fi were a bonus. Simple basic no frills accommodation & great Pub with excellent big meals only 1 minute walk.
Review 37:Wifi only worked if standing by bed No staff on check out - asked for a cab at 8:15am - no cab, no one there.
Review 38:Bathroom in room Easy to get to from airport
Review 39:Firstly, there is only a very small sign which makes me find the house hardly. Then we booked a family room, the room is very small containing 2 beds. Moreover, the bed pad is super uncomfortable. Very bad experience
Review 40:only the location is closed to heathrow airport
Review 41:Bright lights on hotel frontage outside my room and curtains not blackout quality; only one towel supplied; no bedside lamp (or bedside table). No clothes hanging facilities so I had to drape my travel outfit over the large TV screen.
Review 42:Walking distance from the free local bus (although travellers should be aware that at night this is along poorly lit streets). The room and shower room were clean.
Review 43:Some may be put off by the tiredness of the general area.
Review 44:The accommodation was very clean and shower hot, Short walk to major hotel to catch the bus to the airport.
Review 45:is very difficult to reach by bus, you have to get there by taxi and that´s expensive, the house is not well identified either
Review 46:it was clean and the room is comfortable
Review 47:Advertised distance 1.1 miles from airport was from terminals 1,2 & 3. It is closer to 17 miles from terminals 4 & 5. Should be made clear.
Review 48:tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Review 49:No option for breakfast. No staff on site most of the time and he locks himself in a room and the one that is appears not much more than a kid
Review 50:Facilities we're modern and clean. But you are literally stopping in a house in a residential street. It has no impression of a guest house Pub down the road great.
Review 51:taking heavy bags up stairway
Review 52:Direct phone for taxi cost 10 pound to airport arrived on time
Review 53:Close to Heathrow airport, with free of charge and frequent bus connections.
Review 54:Only negative was that the shower head didn't fit the holder.
Review 55:It was simple, clean and great for access to Heathrow. Taxi to T2 was £10
Review 56:Great for a 1 night stay. Clean, tidy, small but functional
Review 57:Close to the airport, but it is quite a walk to the free bus
Review 58:Comfortable
Review 59:Close to Heathrow Airport.
Review 60:Tv add more channels and WiFi
Review 61:WiFi
Review 62:Small room but not a problem if all you want is a bed for the night.
Review 63:Fantastic value and location
Review 64:clean, peaceful and comfortable. Very good hotel and nice person!
Review 65:The man that checked us in was rude and didn't speak any English!
Review 66:I tuned in the tv so we could watch something!
Review 67:Very quiet as we wanted a good sleep before a busy day ahead.
Review 68:Too expensive for a guest house
Review 69:The area and it was very clean
Review 70:Very clean can not fault and pub just down the road to what more could you want many thanks
Review 71:There are no comments available for this review
Review 72:Close to taking rental car back to Heathrow
Review 73:No commercial facility such as stores or restaurants in the vicinity.
Review 74:OK for an overnight stay for a stop over for a change of an airplane.
Review 75:bit noisy at night
Review 76:clean room and shower
Review 77:Close to good quality pub for meals. Nice quiet area. Wild Parakeets in nearby gardens.
Review 78:Everything
Review 79:Very bad too far away from airport. Very dear
Review 80:Clean
Review 81:A group of young men were squeezed into a single room and I did not sleep at all, all night.
Review 82:It was exactly as described, clean, efficient, good selection of food nearby, really good Indian just up the road.
Review 83:Very friendly, nice and spacious room, perfect for an overnight stay!
Review 84:Nothing bad.
Review 85:The young guy was very helpful.
Review 86:Any of my stay
Review 87:Near a pub that's all
Review 88:Location close to airport. Good free wifi. Clean
Review 89:Shower shared
Review 90:Location Probably this place would be more suitable for business travellers due location
Review 91:Best way to go to there by taxi from bus station
Review 92:Hard bed only one thin pillow ,noise from other guests was a. Bit much !!
Review 93:Proxymity to heathrow , pub just up the road is great
Review 94:No breakfast is a slight demerit but there are several cafes locally
Review 95:Clean simple room that had all the facilities that I require.
Review 96:The bed, no mirror in the room could be more classy, website is a bitmisleading.
Review 97:Bathroom was clean.
Review 98:I waited more than half an hour before the only stuff came back. He said he went to a supermarket and even didn't apology for it!
Review 99:Shared ensuite
Review 100:Location
Review 101:shower did not drain. shabby towels. cramped room. no common space. taxi cost £25; too far from bus stop to walk in the dark.
Review 102:immaculate
Review 103:No staff at the guesthouse to help. Promised a shuttle to airport but didn't have a shuttle service.
Review 104:The room was about 8 X 9. No chair or room for one. Bare bones facility. No sitting room or office. It is a reconfigured house.
Review 105:Staff was nice.
Review 106:Can easily be missed when looking for the place
Review 107:Fantastic accommodation so close to heathrow 2 minute walk to the pub and 5 minute walk too the shops
Review 108:Laminated wooden floors. We were on the second floor so it wasn't really an issue but suspect it would have been noisy for guests in the room below.
Review 109:Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, very convenient to Heathrow Airport.
Review 110:No food available except for candy and soft drinks, close to airport but cab ride was 14£'to get there at night and 20£ to return to terminal 3 in morning. It is a house In suburban area that has small bedrooms with attached bathroom. Rooms very clean and new as of June 14. In my opinion a bit too sketchy for a single woman and without any food or services except decent wi fi, not sure I would go again...but price is low and bed clean. Room hot so open window.
Review 111:Close to airport.
Review 112:very convenient location to heathrow. Very clean room and bath. Friendly staff. The Pheasant Inn is very close by with great selection and good value.
Review 113:Like a rooming house.2 mismatched Towels. No hair dryer, 20 pound taxi ride each way from LHR. In long run , better to stay at hotel at airport. You get what you pay for!
Review 114:Close to pheasant pub.
Review 115:1. Wifi is poor - slow and constantly disconnecting. Maybe it was some temporary problem, but I could not use it normally that evening. 2. Bathroom does not have any hangers for towels and stuff so you have to put your clothes either on the floor or on the toilet cover. 3. Hard to find - no road signs and just a small plate with the hotel name on the front wall that is hard to notice from the street.
Review 116:Nice tiny hotel, converted from an apartment house, located close to Heathrow, but in a quiet place. Clean, friendly and cheap.
Review 117:poor sound insulation - kept awake till after midnight by television in next room and woken again at 6.00 next morning by same noise hard to find no information about onward travel possibilities
Review 118:clean, tidy, reasonably eqipped
Review 119:You wouldn't stay here for any other reason, and being near Heathrow, the area isn't the best. Harder to find than a large signposted hotel.
Review 120:Much cheaper than local hotels. Fine if you just want a bed, ensuite bathroom and a cup of tea or coffee before dropping off a hire car prior to a morning flight. The attendant will hand you a key, show you to your room, the rest is up to you.
Review 121:It makes a change, that once in your room, you are not faced with a measly amount of tea/coffee/milk. Virtually a whole jar of coffee, 20+ tea bags and 20+ milk pots...........nice
Review 122:Except for the pub down the road, it was kind of out of the way.Normally, I would have found that a positive, not a negative, but sinceI was just passing through it was a bit of an inconvenience. Forexample, although I was told by numerous employees at Heathrow thatthere were free buses that would get me to the Apple House fromHeathrow, none of them could tell me how to do it. I did find a way toget back to Heathrow the next morning for free, but the sheer number ofoutbound buses at Heathrow made it near impossible. Ironically, the freebus actually would have gotten me much closer to the Apple House thanthe bus I had to pay for to get there. Note that when I planned thistrip, I just figured I would walk the whole way and not have to worryabout public transportation. Apparently this cannot be done. Heathrow isbasically an island in a city, unless you are willing to walk down themiddle of a >4 lane road (no sidewalk) and potentially get stopped bypolice, you can't get out of the place unless you pay for publictransportation or get lucky enough to find that 1 out of 1000 buses thatwill do it for free. Note that note of this criticism had to do with theApple House itself, just its location.
Review 123:Affordable, local business. Nice staff.
Review 124:The room is tiny but tidy. Its nothing to write home about and I wouldn't stay there for more than a day layover as there is nothing there but a bed a tv and a table. Its really tight in there and what I disliked was that if you happen to leave at night to go to a restaurant then the guesthouse door locks itself behind you and if there is no one around to open the door for you well you're stuck outside. Good luck yelling and crying. Really people its just as basic as it gets and if you have to pay more than 25 pounds for this place you're getting ripped.
Review 125:It was close to the airport and the bed was more comfortable than the Premier Inn Harrow that charged me 25 pounds more per day. But then they were in city center so they can do that.
Review 126:Location - very close to airport but on street parking and some surrounding properties were not to our liking
Review 127:Ensuite and Bedroom were very clean. Nice pub nearby
