Reviews for Harmondsworth Hall Guest House
Review 1:My first room didn't have great facilities and was not in the main house. This annex is not very clean, and the bathroom and kitchen facilities are poor. On request however I was moved to the main house and loved the rest of my stay!
Review 2:Extremely responsive staff, both friendly and accommodating when I had issues.
Review 3:The only thing that was not perfect was that the room was directly below the stairs so there was a bit of noise.
Review 4:I found the staff very helpful, friendly and well-intentioned. I just had a night of lay-over in London and the hotel is very close to the airport (I paid 14 pounds for the taxi one way, on the way back with the taxi they organized for me I paid even less and had an extremely nice driver), the room I slept in was clean, the bed was comfy and big, and the taxi arrived on time, even early. The breakfast was also very good and big.
Review 5:Direction to the guest house was not clear, we hired a car just to go to the guesthouse from the airport. Staff was not helpful, perhaps it was due to our late arrival on the New Year eve (about 7pm) when our targeted arrival time from Paris was 4pm. Breakfast was average. Wifi is not available in the room.
Review 6:Location is close to Heathrow airport for an overnight stay for an early flight the next morning.
Review 7:The food was great but the experience was slightly let down by the rather curt friendliness of breakfast staff. Maybe she was having a bad day.
Review 8:This was an excellent alternative to an anonymous airport hotel. Close to Heathrow but in an old village the best feature was the character of the house. The owners we helpful and friendly and the local pub was very welcoming.
Review 9:The bathroom needed a bit of an inservice to use effectively. The place isn't as modern as it appears in the photos but it's original charm is even better.
Review 10:A quaint and convenient location. Residential charms. Easy to or from Heathrow. And in spite of the location close to a huge international airport, it remarkably quiet and peaceful at night. The floors squeaked and there are a lot of rooms but we were never aware of anyone but us in the entire house except at breakfast which was wonderful.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:What a charming place to stay! All the rooms that we saw were beautiful. Breakfast was good in the morning. The staff were very accommodating, as we were traveling with our two month old they showed us a variety of rooms and let us choose and they also kept the heating on all night so she wouldn't be cold.
Review 13:Didn't have breakfast before I left as my flight was too early & I don't enjoy a full English breakfast too early!
Review 14:Loved room 8. Location in a village & near two local pubs.
Review 15:Just alittle thing...it would be helpful to have a notice in the room about times of breakfast.
Review 16:the peace and quiet.the homeliness and friendly service.the good choice of breakfast.
Review 17:No bad experience
Review 18:A comfortable and friendly environment, as opposed to the boring large chain hotels at the airport. Nevertheless, the Hall is only a 10 minute cab ride to Heathrow.
Review 19:NA
Review 20:The staff were very friendly and helpful giving me directions to an address I needed to visit The rooms were although slightly tired were more than adequate The value and locatation so close to Heathrow was great The parking facilities were excellent
Review 21:Lovely characteristic building, warm and friendly staff. Very welcoming & excellent, secure parking facility's. Close to Heathrow. Pubs and convenient store on doorstep.
Review 22:Adorable owners, constantly going above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The place has a nice cozy energy and sleep was so relaxing there. Extremely impressed with breakfast which included vegetarian and gluten free alternatives. THANK YOU! ?
Review 23:Can't name a single thing. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Review 24:Amazing property filled with character, charm, and history. Great little historic community nestled right next to Heathrow, not to mention amazing hospitality of the staff...so, so accomdating. Coffee in the room. Fast WiFi. Free parking. Very clean, and warm. Nice English breakfast. Good pubs nearby. Excellent price for the offerings...
Review 25:Easy to reach by public transport from the airport terminal. Gorgeous period house full of character. Proprietress welcoming and helpful. Room very cosy. Lovely big breakfast.
Review 26:Close to Heathrow Airport - but in a small quiet village. The U3 bus stop to and from the airport is a short walk. Friendly village pub around the corner. I was able to sit in the lounge until early afternoon as my flight did not leave until the evening. Interesting house with an interesting history. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Review 27:The bathroom hadn,t been cleaned. Toothpaste & hair in the sink Bin full of last guests rubbish Cobwebs all over & filthy under the bed , overall tired& unkept ( don't stay in room 8 )
Review 28:Only because I'm from North Yorkshire, and spend a lot of my life outside I found the heating and very warm quilt a bit too much, but it hasn't put me off staying again.
Review 29:Extremely helpful and patient owner whom I contacted countless times due to taking the wrong turn in the dark with no satnav. I found my way due to her directions. The breakfast was extremely good, location quiet and peaceful , within walking distance of Heathrow Thistle conference centre.
Review 30:Excellent stay, great room, magnificent breakfast. Mrs Eileen not only gave transportation tips, she called two taxi companies to get me a fair deal to Heathrow. Make sure you call her in advance about how to get there - she is just amazing.
Review 31:Nothing - would stay here again any time there is a need for an overnight stop at Heathrow.
Review 32:What a treat - a marvellous Georgian house with generously welcoming and comfortable rooms and great breakfast only 10 minutes from Heathrow but worlds away in an English village.
Review 33:No lift for the upper bedrooms but was assisted with my luggage.
Review 34:Comfy older residence set up for lodging in a village near LHR. Good full English breakfast and friendly hosts. Large front room area for reading or sitting. Very clean and tidy WC. Comfy bed. Access from LHR via U3 bus (need to buy Oyster Card) to Hammersmith Lane stop (12 minutes or so) then short walk into village to property address.
Review 35:A little hard to find, but worth it once there. A very friendly pub around the corner for evening meal (The Crown)
Review 36:A much more interesting place to stay than the chain hotels - much quieter and a splendid building.
Review 37:The accommodation was well used. Needs a refurb, especially the en-suite.
Review 38:Brilliant large room to accommodate 5 people. The landlady was superb. Children made to feel very welcome to include giving my granddaughter a 5th bday card with a £5 note in on her bday. Amazing generosity from a stranger.
Review 39:Beautiful old house that is now at risk of becoming no more due to Heathrow's expansion plan. This would be an absolute shame as this B&B is steeped in history. The host is exceptional and we would definitely visit again.
Review 40:Mustiness, only one side table in bedroom, dining room has large shared tables, had to ask for butter and other things which had run out the previous day
Review 41:Convenience to Heathrow and access to underground to London
Review 42:There was a wasps next out side the bedroom window so couldn't open it,
Review 43:Close to Heathrow Airport but in a lovely village. The house was beautiful, fantastic bathroom and excellent choice for breakfast. I would definately stay again.
Review 44:The cab to the hotel cost over 30 pounds from the airport, as I took one outside the entrance (not knowing any difference). The hotel had sent an email (a few hours prior to my arrival, which I didn't get in time as I was on a plane) with a number to call for a cab company (not that I could have called anyhow not having a UK sim card) that would have been a little cheaper. To return the next morning, they said the bus which is within easy walking distance, was free, which it wasn't, (and you need the right change, which I didn't have) so what I thought was a reasonable overnight stay, turned out very expensive.
Review 45:The room, while being rather small, had a lovely comfortable bed and coffee making facilities (which was a Godsend after being on a long flight and arriving near midnight). Wifi worked well. Breakfast had a good selection including yoghurt, cereal and fruit along with a 'full' cooked English breakfast if desired.
Review 46:Great location a few miles from airport but in a quiet little neighborhood. Request one of their rooms with sofa. Eat at pub around corner called Five Bells. Local and fun and friendly!
Review 47:Excellent B&B close to (but not noisy) Heathrow. Very friendly, family run guest house. Fabulous English breakfast. Wish we had found it years ago.
Review 48:there are various quirks of an old house such as creaky floorboards etc, but that adds to the charm. One area to be looked at is a thorough cleaning underneath the wardrobes!
Review 49:While the house is a few minutes from Heathrow (it took me 7 minutes to get to the perimeter road to drop off my hire car) it felt very remote from such a built up area - and a very relaxing environment before the rush of the airport. The house is full of history - there are nearby pubs - a play-park for children is 3 minutes walk down the road and there are interesting walks nearby. If Heathrow gets its third runway the whole village pretty much (including this house) will be demolished.
Review 50:A beautiful house and contents combined with a comfortable bed and very good breakfast made for an ideal stopover after a long flight. Much nicer than any of the impersonal chain hotels that swarm around the airports. Helpful recommendations from the owner on where to get an evening meal.
Review 51:Nothing!
Review 52:Very close to Heathrow and in a nice village. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. I had a very early flight in the morning, so I did not sample the breakfast. The tea tray in the room was a good way to end a long day and at least have a cup of tea before heading out the next morning.
Review 53:Great location close to Heathrow airport. Room was very spacious, comfortable bed and nicely furnished in keeping with the style of the house. Enjoyed the cooked full English breakfast.
Review 54:The only thing l could pick fault with whicha seem petty. The toilet when filling was extremely loud through the night. The shower could have had a little bit more pressure behind the water flow.
Review 55:Very friendly and helpful owners. Made to feel very welcome in the family room. Breakfast was fantastic and filled us up ready for our busy day ahead
Review 56:Lovely place to stay for a Heathrow stopover. Just one stop past the free bus zone for the U3 from Heathrow Central or the 350 from Heathrow T5 (a choice to pay or get off a stop early; no big deal). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff were all very friendly. The two pubs in the village were OK. The wifi worked fine. Highly recommended.
Review 57:Being fleeced by the taxi from Heathrow T4! If you are staying here get the free transport to T123 and taxi to/from there if its late/early. Or if you have the time call and ask for directions via the path cut through and use the free transport all the way through. (We'd travelled for over 24hrs so didn't have the brain power left).
Review 58:Quiet and comfortable, huge room, excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Easy access to free zone Heathrow transport.
Review 59:There was nothing not to like (other than the lack of time spent in a charming village).
Review 60:Close to LHR. No, whatsoever, noise from planes. And, most importantly, comfortable. Great breakfast.
Review 61:Stayed in a bit gloomy house across the street; not recommended for people allergic to mold or dogs. I arrived late at Heathrow T5, the taxi around £25.
Review 62:Good breakfast and cosy athmosphere in the main building.
Review 63:need to clean up better, small spider web in the toilet. too strong scents of air freshener?
Review 64:location is very quiet, yet close to the bus stop to the LHR.
Review 65:Small car park.
Review 66:The olde-worlde feel of the building and village location near lots of lovely country park walks. Also very, very close to Heathrow Terminal 5 long stay car park which is why we booked.
Review 67:Lovely old inn conveniently located in a quiet oasis next to Heathrow. Rooms 6 and 8 are large and lovely. Breakfast was great. Eat at 5 Bells Pub around the corner, very limited menu at Crown Pub. Perfect layover spot for Heathrow.
Review 68:The staff were very friendly. The hotel was fantastic. The room was very clean. The cooked breakfast was amazing and overall I would definitely recommend this hotel!!! Very good price too.
Review 69:Quiet and individual for an airport stopover, even the chance of a walk in a nature reserve before a long distance flight. Good breakfast and efficient arrangement of local taxi service. Big room, perhaps not as smart as a modern hotel but full of character and all that was required for a good nights sleep.
Review 70:Check out time is noon which is appreciated when catching a late flight. Owners are very helpful and accommodating, breakfast is great. Comfortable beds.
Review 71:Lovely quiet location. Friendly staff and very helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Easy access to Heathrow by bus. Lovely village, pub and locals.
Review 72:Had some difficulty taking the bus from Heathrow as the bus stop was not clear. Please note that you can take the U3 bus from Terminals 2/3 or the 350 bus from Terminal 5...then get off at the Harmondsworth Lane bus stop and walk about three blocks to Inn.
Review 73:Charming historic building in small village located about 10 minutes from Heathrow by bus. Extremely good value for money. Everything was of a high quality: beds, linens, bathroom/shower, breakfast. Friendly service. Just perfect for my needs.
Review 74:Was 10 mins from the airport room was clean and the pub round the corner, as recommended by the owner, was excellent. They arranged for an early morning taxi with fixed price of a tenner to take me to the airport the following morning. Would recommend for an airport stay
Review 75:This is a stately old home that's been converted to a B&B, and it has plenty of charm. Our room (room 11) could use some paint and a little freshening - carpet was worn - but these are not major complaints.
Review 76:Excellent location, near bus line which can take you to train station at Heathrow for access to London. About 15-20 minutes from airport by taxi. Relatively quiet depending on direction planes are using for take-off. Very good breakfasts included.
Review 77:Just a heads up… It's not super convenient to the airport unless you don't mind catching a bus.
Review 78:Great staff who are friendly and super helpful. The hotel is historic, beautiful and quaint.
Review 79:I wanted a little piece of England to complete my 4 weeks holiday and this was the perfect place! So close to Heathrow (took 10 minutes to get there ) but it was like being in a country village. Lovely walks and history in the village with the 2 pubs church village store and village green. Wonderful!
Review 80:it was very hard to find the guest house at night in the dark. The basic room was indeed very basic and very cold. The grimy shared bathroom was not a pleasant experience. Our stay did not meet our expectation based on photos of the outside of the guesthouse.
Review 81:The main house where we had breakfast was very nice, as was the breakfast.
Review 82:The bed was a bit hard.
Review 83:A warm welcome with tea and biscuits, friendly hosts. Atmosphere of a house with history. Great hot English breakfast. Easy reach from the airport. A charging adaptor :)
Review 84:The guesthouses location is perfect close to the airport, I arrived fairly late & the welcome I received was wonderful from the staff, & I would return to stay again, & I would definitely recommend it to other people.
Review 85:I had room on ground floor and was woken early morning by other guests arriving/leaving
Review 86:Nice, warm old building. Friendly helpful staff. Large choice on breakfast buffet. Local pubs just round the corner.
Review 87:The very friendly welcome when we arrived. The convenience of being close to Heathrow airport and having eateries close by and a lovely walking area around the lake. The quietness of the hotel considering the closeness to the airport.
Review 88:The old part of the house was in poor state could not shut room door very easy vermin traps in the hallways holes in walls it go's on. Main part of house maybe Ok but the part we stayed in was not.
Review 89:Excellent location and accommodation for a business traveller. Lovely old period property, good secure car parking across the road, excellent nights sleep and everything you could wish for in a lovely comfy room. I travel a lot with business and I will certainly be returning here again
Review 90:Very close to airport in quiet and quaint village, very convenient as a stop-over for Heathrow. Huge homestyle breakfast, so needed to take advantage of a walk around the heath, with lovely country path along a pond
Review 91:Whilst the bedroom was very comfortable, it smelt of damp which was a shame.
Review 92:I stayed in the garden room which was separate from the main house and gave me additional privacy. The owners were very welcoming and the location ideal for catching an early morning flight from Heathrow.
Review 93:Very tired & run down property. Not nearly as nice as it looks or sounds in the advert. Cost £26 for taxi from Terminal 4.
Review 94:Comfortable bed with clean crisp sheets. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 95:Not clean, underlined, not welcoming, felt like I was invading the owners space. not too sure they should be involved in hospitality at any level.
Review 96:Close enough to the airport (Heathrow), village setting with little shops and a couple of decent I won't rip you off pubs, which we enjoyed immensely.
Review 97:Bathroom not as clean as we would have liked but wasnt a major issue, our biggest issue was at breakfast we had to wait as there was only 3 tables again not a major issue however as we were left as the only people eating their dogs were let our to join us! I found this really quite disgusting in a place reserved for paying guests!
Review 98:The staff were friendly, the room was nice and big. The breakfast was lovely. Close to Legoland which is what we were staying for
Review 99:A beautiful little village just a 10 minute taxi ride from Heathrow airport. Lovely old house, beautifully presented. Great breakfast and lovely host. The Five Bells pub a minutes walk away for a decent pub meal. Highly recommend Harmondsworth Hall!!
Review 100:No DVD player in room which was disappointing for the children, but was told it was temporary as has been sent away to be fixed. Shower pressure was disappointing, and beds a bit creaky.
Review 101:Excellent breakfast and friendly service. Helpful and informative staff.
Review 102:totally overpriced, shared bathroom with someone who is not the cleanliness person, bathroom very basic and not very appealing overall, I was accommodated in a "overflow" house, which is not part of the original - apparently very nice - hotel; breakfast too late for someone who has to go to the airport early (7AM) - breakfast from 6:30AM would be nice! I would rather pay less than paying for a breakfast I cannot have because I have to leave to the airport in time!!
Review 103:Close to Heathrow, staff very nice, very good breakfast 0 if you have time!!
Review 104:About an hours tube ride from central London, but easy to access.
Review 105:GREAT full English breakfast. Very handy to local transport. Old world feel and very comfortable.
Review 106:The only negative was the comfort of the beds and the warmth of the room.
Review 107:The location was excellent and the room was large and airy for 5 of us.it was value for money with the room and excellent breakfast.
Review 108:Rang the hotel telling them I was having a problem getting over from France they were very helpful with checking in time very friendly with the children
Review 109:It's inevitable that, so close to the airport, people have to come and go at unsociable hours.
Review 110:Being in a village so close to the airport. Guest house had great character and was good value. Hostess was organised and helpful, and sorted out a taxi to the airport.
Review 111:Great property in a really quiet place just 5-6 min from T5. The pub next-door is really cheap and serves great food. Bed is really comfortable. Great value!!!
Review 112:Nothing, absolutely no complaints.
Review 113:Wecoming, very helpful, Owner went out of her way to assist in my mini crisis, very informative about local services and booked us a taxi as soon as we enquired about availability.
Review 114:Beautiful guesthouse, comfortable, fabulous breakfast and very accommodating - Thank you. Would use again and great alternative for staying near Heathrow Airport.
Review 115:That it will be destroyed and erased by the new runway development.
Review 116:Everything, it was perfect and really beautiful 18th Century building. Superb value.
Review 117:The beds were soft so that I felt hurt on my back, and the water pressure of shower was too poor. The staff of this house was not friendly very much.
Review 118:I felt as if I was invited to an English friend's house when we arrived at the guest house. My family and I were satisfied with the cozy room and the view through the window. I liked eating a full English breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Unfortunately, the bacon was too salty for us. :(
Review 119:Bathroom and shower somewhat dated. Wifi almost non-existent in bedroom but OK in other parts of house.
Review 120:Lovely old house, somewhat dated but quaint. Lovely full English breakfast included in very reasonable price. Very helpful and accommodating staff. The taxi they provided to take us back to the airport was only £8 compared to £15 charged by black cab.
Review 121:There was someone singing all morning in the garden outside my window at 8 in the morning and non of the staff did anything about it. Also the bathroom was very small
Review 122:location was very good and the fact that there was parking
The Fine Print
