Reviews for Le Victor Hugo

Review 1:The metro was on the same block and it was an easy 20 minutes to all the sights. The middle-class neighborhood was very safe and well lit with bakeries, cafes and restaurants all around.

Review 2:Staff don"t understand English. Was told room with double bed,but found 2 single beds paired together. All rooms are like that. Double charged, still haven't got my money back. Asked to provide invoice to get money back. Still haven't heard back from Hotel. Very Poor.

Review 3:Location. Close to main railway station.

Review 4:A good choice if French could be spoken.

Review 5:I would highly recommend this hotel, not only for its comfy room, but also for warmly kind host and hostess (maybe the sole spoken French of them would be a problem). Also, the cleaner for the room is very meticulous and each night I came back it gave me a freshly new room. Thanks a lot.

Review 6:They speak only french, and do not understand english. There is no way to have hot or cold drinks in the room, since there are no facilities at all. poor soap and shampoo. no elevator. no one at the reception.

Review 7:Wifi was not great Staff did not speak English

Review 8:Close to Metro Decent sized room for the area Friendly staff Relatively quiet Plenty going on nearby

Review 9:no hair dryer, wifi did not work in the room

Review 10:Very close to metro station, quiet and safe area, comfortable room, good wifi (only in the lobby), pleasant staff

Review 11:WiFi does not exist - it is a myth! Floor has not been dusted for ages. There is a mold on the walls. Stuff does not speak a word of English or any other language. Duvet was not dressed and we had to buy our own bedding or to slip with dirty bed covers! Fire alarm started first night ad midnight and was on for 15 min - very loud - after that an alarm light was lighting on and off simultaneously in the room - I had to remove the light-bulb myself. High price for the breakfast and room in comparison to what they offer.

Review 12:Bathroom is renovated and new. Easy access to the Metro

Review 13:The Hotel is well connected to all the attractions in Paris and located in a good locality. There are many restaurants in the vicinity and some are open till midnight too. The staff are polite.

Review 14:restaurant a bit chilly

Review 15:practical, friendly, with restaurant in house

Review 16:The service from the people....

Review 17:Very nice staff. Although I´m not speaking french.

Review 18:Owners/managers speak only French

Review 19:Very good location, near to the metro station!! Clean, nice and cozy room for a sleep and low price!!

Review 20:All was just O.K.,good neighbourhood, clean room.

Review 21:Close to metro

Review 22:beds could be more modern an more comfortable for your back

Review 23:friendly staff, the hotel is very clean and well cept, good metro to reach any train

Review 24:No English speaking staff

Review 25:Clean and close to metro station

Review 26:no complaints.

Review 27:It was clean, close to transit station and restaurants

Review 28:The terminus station of the Mirie de Montrouge (line 4) is very close, polite staff and clean rooms, shops are very near.

Review 29:A very local ,' untouristic' area, only a few metres from the metro station line 4 which goes through the centre of Paris via Gare Du Nord

Review 30:room is basic for price bathroom smelled a little

Review 31:location, food atmosphere

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Very near to metro station. Breakfast was good and the staff was very welcoming and caring.

Review 34:- no lift - for check in go to the restaurant (same owner I believe) as the hotel door is always closed. When I phoned the number telling that we are at the door for a check in - girl said she doesn't speak Englese, I had to ask people from the street to speak over the phone, - no glasses in the room. When we took two glasses from the bar in the restaurant downstairs, we succeed, but glasses disappeared next day after cleaning, so we had to go down and ask for glasses again - Wifi is weak But overall nice place, near the market and the tube. Would go there again

Review 35:lovely comfortable bed, not far from the tube and the market, wired internet for laptop, daily cleaning, friendly staff

Review 36:- no hairdryer in the room - no kettle; coffee downstairs is 3 euros each - could hear the neighbours flipping pages while reading - fortunately they didn't stay up too late! - keychain is so huge and heavy you won't want it in your pocket - it was too hot to sleep with the windows shut, and too noisy to leave them open (road noise) - no nice cafes around (but a supermarket close enough)

Review 37:- literally a 1 minute walk to the metro - baker's shop (boulangerie) just across the road - mini fridge, TV - plenty of towels - windows block the outside noise very well indeed - shower had excellent water flow and was very clean; better than some 4 star hotels - daily cleaning - one of the receptionists speaks fluent English, although she wasn't there at all times. Even helped us with the food menu. - the staff were very concerned when we reported a problem and did everything they could to sort it out to our satisfaction

Review 38:No one in the hotel staff speak English but you can use google translate as they can read French.

Review 39:The location of the Hotel is very good. The staff is really supportive and quick.

Review 40:My husband got bitten all over by bedbugs (room 15). Hotel staff argued that it couldn't have been bedbugs, must have been a mosquito. Definitely no mosquitoes that night. They did buy us some bite cream, and after some arguing changed our room. 2nd night we had no problem. They also gave us a bottle of wine as we left. However, they never apologised for our terrible nights sleep. Helps if you can speak French when staying here.

Review 41:Location is great, near the train line into central Paris. Quiet area and a lot cheaper than central Paris hotels.

Review 42:Furnishings a bit tired; not cheap for somewhere so far outside the Periph', but okay.

Review 43:Old-school suburban brasserie with rooms; clean, friendly welcome, fast wifi. Montrouge is surprisingly nice. The Line 4 extension makes it handy for central Paris. More character than a chain place. Fine for a stopover.

Review 44:theres no lift, or air conditioning & cant open window for air as facing the main road so gets pretty hot during warm weather. unfortunately only 1 staff speaks english so communicating is challenging if shes not there. hotel is located above bar/ bistro and no proper lobby for info, also not sure how you would check in if arriving late after bar closed?

Review 45:the hotel is located very close to the metro stop, decent room and appeared clean. theres a TV and bathroom is a bit small but average I suppose for price and rating. very basic ....I guess it could be a bit cheaper to be value for money. staff seems friendly but communication can be challenging

Review 46:The only downside and a minor one was the buffet for breakfast. No that much choice.

Review 47:Excellent atmosphere , staff, food and facilities. It is comfy and everything you need is there. It s more like a family run place and it gives all the charms of a quiet environment and helpful staff.

Review 48:1. Our room was on the 3rd floor and Wi-fi signal was very poor. Couldn't use the internet at all. 2. Walls are made of "cupboard". You can hear easily what your neighbours do. 3. The heating system is only in the bedroom, there is no one in the bathroom. I had a shower not only with a soap but with goosebumps too. 4. Staff don't speak English. 5. There wasn't a hair drier in our room and we had to wait 30 minutes before we were supplied.

Review 49:Stones throw away from the metro station. Lot's of stores and bakery near by. Calm and peaceful area.I felt safe as actually in other part of Paris. To sum up, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a long stay, only a night or two.

Review 50:Free parking around hotel is a little problem: be aware and ask the hotel where you can park and where not !! Very important.

Review 51:very frienldy. Coffe in bar is excellent. Breakfast very simple a la francais, but all right for a few days. (or dont take breakfast but just coffee/tea and eat somewhere else... Recommended hotel. I will come back. Thanks!!

Review 52:- Thin walls, a bit noisy- the lightening and decoration could be improved in the room (a bit gloomy) - for hygienical reasons I don't like carpet floor in hotels - the bedspread had some discreet stains on the inside

Review 53:- Next to the new metro station Mairie de Montrouge- supermarket and restaurants around - no complications and efficient check in/out - the bed was comfy - the room was clean - for a Parisian hotel of that category, the room was relatively big and renovated

Review 54:They waited for us late after midnight and gave us free beer.... Owner and staff are extremly friendly, breakfast is good and value for money Metro to downtown is close to hotel, direct line

Review 55:Wifi is sometimes slow, but basically workable.

Review 56:Location is convenient, and the staff is helpful.

Review 57:No lift; no shelter from the rain to the room we were given.

Review 58:Convenience to Metro, Church and Laundromat; safe neighbourhood with many shops.

Review 59:Would be better if they provide hair dryer and kettle.

Review 60:Location is perfect. Staff are nice.

Review 61:WiFi not

Review 62:Personal

Review 63:None of the staff speaks English.

Review 64:Wifi was very very bad

Review 65:Location

Review 66:Very friendly staffs, Very very delicious foods

Review 67:it was october, it wasn't warm inside

Review 68:the staff the cleaness

Review 69:Very kind staff, clean room, close to metro

Review 70:Friendly staff. Convenient to metro. Nice part of town.

Review 71:Nothing.

Review 72:The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is close to the end of Line 4 at Montrouge, where I needed to be.
