Reviews for Garden Hotel

Review 1:- room was small and had very outdated facilities. - bed was small - headboard was uncomfortable to lean against whilst reading in bed. - internet was appalling

Review 2:it was handy for town centre

Review 3:The 1pm curfew was not clearly stated and in fact we got home at around 12.30pm and had to knock up the person who was supposed to be on until 1pm. There is no need to restrict guests it was worse than being a teenager!!

Review 4:Floors were a little creaky. No lift.

Review 5:Friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The Hotel restaurant was exceptional for Cantonese and Thai food. It is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Large family room, very light and airy.

Review 6:Parking is very limited They have an asian food restaurant at ground floor, so you can smell it from the room Our room was at 3rd floor, no elevator available so I have to carry our luggage w/no help. Very complicated for disable people In summary, it is too expensive for its quality!!!

Review 7:Clean room w/comfortable bed and bathroom

Review 8:Very strong smell of cooking Booked a double room room had two single beds Room we had was very close to Stree very noisy at night Hotel could do with a lift

Review 9:Staff were friendly

Review 10:Breakfast & evening meal in the restaurant, cleanliness of the whole hotel very good, everyone was polite & made you feel welcome, will be going back to stay again.

Review 11:The hotel was close to the station and close enough to the University, where I was attending my son's graduation - I think most of us in the hotel were attending graduation ceremonies. The staff were really lovely, bubbly and welcoming. My room was just right for the short stay. I will definitetly book to stay here again next time I visit my son in Bangor.

Review 12:Only the car park at the back gave a bad first impression not the hotel or restaurant....

Review 13:It was my sons graduation.. Well done him. booked on line with no experience of the area. Really lovely welcome friendly staff.... Our graduation meal on Friday night was truly wonderful.... Nothing too much trouble...

Review 14:proprieters children playing loudly on balcony right outside my room. That is what children do, I know but annoying nevertheless. Relatively high price but breakfast still extra.

Review 15:Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 16:Location means you can hear the trains late into the night and from early in the morning and parking is limited.

Review 17:A bit old fashioned decor-wise, but the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Didn't have dinner, but breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Review 18:No bad experiences at all.

Review 19:Very helpful staff who went out of their way to assist - eg helping fix my camera. Unbelievable family (Owners) who were interested in helping us enjoy our holiday in Bangor. Would stay with them again.

Review 20:Traffic noise, the double glazing wasn't up to it! My motorcycle ear plugs came in handy.

Review 21:Friendly staff, comfortable well equipped room, fantastic food in the attached restaurant. Easy parking and central location.

Review 22:A bit too far from the city center.

Review 23:Location to train station. Very friendly and helpful staff. All comforts provided. Leaving key when going out assured a friendly greeting when you return.

Review 24:Was a little noisy early on in the evening because of the traffic.

Review 26:This family-run Hotel is so friendly - you are made to feel welcome the moment you enter the hotel. Our Room was lovely with very comfortable beds. Furthermore, the food in their Restaurant was amazing.

Review 27:Advertised Free Wi fi was terrible in our room

Review 29:On arriving at the garden hotel I was met with warmth and kindness from all staff members they made me feel so comfortable and at home.it was a brilliant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 30:Sound of an air conditioning unit in the evening. It went off eventually though and then all was quiet.

Review 31:Kind staff, lovely comfy bed and nicely furnished room.

Review 32:The family who run this hotel were polite and very helpful, the room was comfortable, very clean and well-stocked with essentials. Wi-fi connections were reliable. Breakfast was large and tasty. I will definitely stay here again

Review 33:Handing the keys when you popped out was a bit odd but didn't affect the stay.

Review 34:V convenient for the station, super friendly staff and wonderfully clean room.

Review 35:My room was street facing. It was loud. In front of bright streetlights. Blackout curtains would have helped. Floors creaked so I knew when someone was moving overhead.

Review 36:The location (close to the station) was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. Close to the University. Staff very friendly. Did not use restaurant.

Review 37:Not much! The mattress was a little too firm for my liking, but not enough to complain about!

Review 38:The staff were very welcoming, the room very clean - and a good shower! The restaurant below was lovely. Delish food and excellent service. We could not smell any cooking in our room - nor anywhere else in the hotel building. We were in Bangor dropping our daughter off at the university. Perfect location for us, but not what you'd call a 'holiday' destination. Yes, we will stay again - (if they will have us!)

Review 39:No lift, so just imagine carrying heavy suitcases up to higher levels of the hotel. The stairs were very narrow and I managed to bump my head several times in the stairway whilst carrying the suitcases. Not recommended for older people and persons with disability. Not recommended for persons with disability. The beds were not very comfortable. Old type of beds.

Review 50:70's decor though was very clean

Review 51:Friendly staff, convenient location. I arrived by train at 9.45pm and restaurant was still open for a delicious meal

Review 52:Stairs!!!! Too late to install a lift? Pesky shower and lock on door. View. Why "Garden" when there is not a real flower to be seen? A few bamboo plants could go on the outside landing with the washing lines.

Review 53:Size, friendliness, handy location, good restaurant

Review 54:Because of the graduation ceremony, the price is a little bit higher. For one more people they charged us for extra 40 pounds. The staff is not so friendly, she said if we were unhappy, we can go. That's so rude.

Review 55:Good location, 5 minutes walk from the railway station

Review 56:Noise from business at rear of building in the am. Needed to keep my window open as it was very hot weather

Review 57:The staff were great very friendly and helpful and keen to ensure you had everything you needed.
