Reviews for Glengarry Guest House

Review 1:Shower was tiny and no decent TV reception in room, bedside unit on one side only. Breakfast staff messed up order and wasn't that difficult to get right.

Review 2:Room was clean/fresh and the bed was comfortable.

Review 3:It was all great!

Review 4:The B&B is well located and easy to find from the main highway. Rooms weren't noisy, though. The room was airy and bright, beds very comfortable, breakfast was very tasty. It is easy to walk from here into town where there are many places to eat. Our delightful host, Archie, recommended Mohr Fish for great fish and chips and he was right. He also gave a good suggestion for a place to eat lunch in Glencoe ( Clachaig Inn- lovely view) and directions to Bracklin Falls- a short hike just outside of town. We would stay again anytime.

Review 5:Bathroom facilities were dated but clean. Plenty of hot water. Can't complain about them, they're similar to what used to be the norm in the UK (cramped space, low shower head)...but the bathroom standard has been raised in similarly priced properties I've visited. That, coupled with a bed that was too short and uncomfortable for my husband, brought the value for money score down just a touch for us.

Review 6:The proprietor, Martin, is an outstanding host on all fronts. He gave us recommendations that really added to our experience of the area and was unfailingly attentive, welcoming & polite. Loved him! Fantastic breakfast as well, lots of choices offered beyond the standard Scottish fry-up. Location is ideal both for walkers and whisky hounds alike and there places in the village within easy walking distance for a meal or a pint. Very much enjoyed our stay at this property.

Review 7:Because we were walking the Rob Roy Way and Glengarry was at the opposite end of the town from the path, we rated the location good rather than excellent. But everything else was superb!

Review 8:Excellent hosts. Great breakfast. Good bed.

Review 9:The owners are friendly and happy to make suggestions for things to do and places to eat locally. Breakfast freshly cooked with a wide choice. Rooms very well appointed.

Review 10:The hostess was very warm and friendly - gave us good recommendations for dinner. The home was very clean and inviting - we loved her flower garden and her personal touches. Would love to go back again!

Review 11:Very friendly welcome, great breakfast, homely room, lots of nice destinations for day- trips nearby, .... We had a fantastic stay and hope to come back on our next tour through Scotland.

Review 12:nothing

Review 13:We loved the family room, beaufifull decoration in cream colors, very comfortable. The breakfast, especialy delicious black pudding, was the best I ever had in Scotland !

Review 15:Superb and totally welcoming. It was our first holiday in the UK and my first time in Scotland and really we couldn't have hoped for better. Just one thing, after breakfast (excellent) we asked a question about where to go and what to see. Immediately, Evelyn came out with a panapoly of maps and just like that took a good took a good 30 minutes explaining the country to us and giving amazing suggestions that weren't in any guide. If you have the time at all, make sure you ask her advice ;) conor and sophie

Review 16:Its not a moan really but just worth mentioning that more tea bags etc. would have been nice. Also lack of a bedside cabinet one side of double bed as it was a walkway to the en suite, but the room was big enough to allow for this!

Review 17:Very friendly and knowledgeable owners and super clean and tidy! Great location for shopping in Callander, toy museum IS absolutely brilliant!

Review 18:Plumbing noises are frequent as ensuite bathrooms are situated in corners of bedrooms. Also we could clearly hear our neighbours talking loudly in the corridor outside our bedroom so the rooms aren't very soundproof.

Review 19:Well located for our overnight stay enroute from Edinburgh. On main road into Callander so close to restaurants. Our well furnished and very clean upstairs double bedroom faced the back garden so was well away from traffic noise.

Review 20:We loved the B and B. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The location was great. Callander is a lovely town and I enjoyed it again as I had been there before. The only problem was that we had to leave after only 3 nights. Would love to go back.

Review 21:Faultless. Nothing to dislike.

Review 22:Absolutely superb place to stay. Great hosts and the place is in really lovely condition, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Try it, you won't be disappointed

Review 26:Light and socket in the bathroom didn't work and we couldn't charge our batteries for camera and phones. It was too late that we noticed the issue and didn't want to wake up the owner.

Review 27:Cozy atmosphere, nice man at the breakfast.

Review 28:The shoser wasok, but a bit small for a person my size.

Review 29:The decoration. Both rooms were very beautiful. The owner, Archie, was extremely nice and helpful. Everything he recommended us was right. And the breakfast was delicious

Review 32:Lovely owners who looked after us well, great large bedroom for the four of us and a beautiful old house. We had a early start so missed the breakfast but was brought a lovely selection the night before so the kids wouldn't go hungry.

Review 33:Nothing!

Review 34:Very nice house, very quiet, very clean and comfortable. The owners are absolutely charming and very helpful. The location is ideal in the town, at walking distance from the centre and from walks in the beautiful woods nearby. Note that baked beans are not systematically added to the breakfast ("not everyone likes them") but will be added on request :-).

Review 47:The television picture in my room fragmented quite a lot which made watching the games highlights challenging.

Review 48:The support for my stay to see the games was excellent. Very friendly owners, very helpful and because I had to leave early each day in order to get to the games venues, a very nice breakfast bag was left for me.
