Reviews for Auberge de l'Oumède
Review 1:Very expensive food and drinks. Two course meal with cheapest wine came to 200 euros.
Review 2:Great swimming pool with lovely views in peaceful countryside. In easy reach of beaches and villages.
Review 3:No more restaurant facility in the evening
Review 4:fantastic location and very comfortable large rooms with a nice terrace and spectacular views
Review 5:Charming lady owner, very friendly and nice! Home made marmalade for a breakfast was delicious :)
Review 6:The view over vineyards to the ocean was divine and the room well designed. Bed was comfortable and swimming pool fantastic.
Review 7:It would be nice to have some "simple dishes" for dinner as you don't always want to have the extremely high end food when you don't feel like going out for dinner. Even if the menu was excellent.
Review 8:Super location if you prefer a bit of quite time after being in town or on the beach. Felt as if you had your own house as the wonderful pool is only for the guests of three rooms. It really gave us the feeling to be in our "own house".
Review 9:Unreasonably expensive motel with low service: no friendly "welcome" at arrival, waiters giggling behind your back, small private property with way too many "DO NOT DOs" and very little guest appreciation. We didn't feel like welcomed guests there for a split second... 3 largest rooms next to the pool have shared patio area, so it was impossible to sleep wen 7 people where drinking and partying at 3.30am. No one from the "hotel' was available to fix it, or even apologize later. Rooms doors open right to the parking (1m away) so you wake up with every single car coming back average restaurant with ridiculously high prices. Will not come back. There are more other places in the area with way better value, service and location for $$$
Review 10:comfortable room, green area
Review 11:Breakfast - too expensive.
Review 12:Fantastic location - big calm! In the middle of the wine yards, nice pool, amazing view, quality rooms, very friendly staff! We had an amazing time and consider big time coming back next year! Warmly recommended.
Review 13:Upon arrival at the main part of the auberge we found a notice pinned to the door to say that our room in the Bastide was 100m up the road and had a brown door. After a long journey this was not ideal. We would not have been able to access our room in the Bastide anyway as it was behind locked gates! As it turned out 100m was inaccurate. Perhaps 500m. Thank goodness we didn't drag our suitcases up the road in anticipation because just as we were about to do just that the hotelier returned. She was very cheery and ignored my somewhat lukewarm greeting. We were shown to our room, told to leave a note for breakfast requirements and that was it. I asked for breakfast at 9am (the earliest possible time). By 9.20 breakfast had not appeared. It cost 25 Euros per person for croissant, bread and jam with a choice of coffee or tea. Ridiculous! The minibar 500ml wine cost 35Euros. All in all the Auberge is a lovely, but overpriced place without the service one would expect.
Review 14:Lovely room, terrace, own courtyard, views, pool, garden, parking.
Review 15:We didn't like the cost of the breakfast. 25 euros each for a basic continental breakfast, but it was served on our patio which was lovely. There were a couple of infestations of flies, but they were dealt with very quickly.
Review 16:We loved the aspect, the views, the tranquility. The rooms were comfortable and the patio/garden for each room was very agreeable. we loved the private entrance and little enclosed courtyard. The swimming pool was great and the chairs around the pool very comfortable. The attitude of the staff was very good - nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and views from the restaurant beautiful.
