Reviews for L'Ecurie Obernai

Review 1:The location is not in the very very center, but considering the size of the village, it takes you max 5 mins to get to the heart. This is a very new and clean hotel. the decoration is lovely. the host is very polite and reactive. I definetly recommend.

Review 2:Would have been nice to have tea/ coffee making facilities

Review 3:Very comfortable and clean. Lovely decor and good quality bedding also the luxury of having 2 bedrooms and a living area. Short walk to town but had free parking so no compromise really

Review 4:no service at all...no breakfast, same towels for 3 days, almost no wifi, had to beg for toilette paper, no soap or shampoo, very difficult acces to your room...37 steps..,bathroom sink and floor impossible to clean.

Review 5:decoration,very,very nice

Review 6:Our bedroom was in the roof space which was very hot when we were there in July.

Review 7:Great pool to relax in and cool off. Although breakfast wasn't served at the property it was only a short walk to a lovely cafe where a very reasonable priced breakfast was served. Friendly staff.

Review 8:We were told we weren't allowed to use the pool on the hottest day of the year. We were also told that we would have to pay for breakfast at the cafe rather than it being included. We had booked the hotel based on previous reviews which included pool use and a breakfast, so we were disappointed. There were also no toiletries provided and no toilet roll. It felt more like renting a room rather than a hotel stay.

Review 9:The rooms were newly decorated and clean. Very comfortable.

Review 10:No wardrobe and no bedside/wall lights for late night reading!

Review 11:This is close to the centre of town but not noisy and is easily accessed. It was very clean and friendly. Tasty french breakfast provided in nearby cafe.

Review 12:Specifically requested 3 beds for 3 adults (friends). They were available - a sofa bed was there but was not made up, no sheets available.

Review 13:location. Pool would be available in summer. Breakfast down the road in owner's cafe. Very nice.

Review 14:There is no chair in the room. The bed is too soft and low to sit comfortably. It's a nuisance to have to walk to the cafe for breakfast.

Review 15:The small standard room is comfortable and clean. It's nicely decorated.

Review 16:Washbasin in the bathroom not sanitary. Breakfast was in a cafe 3-400 m from hotel, ok in good weather but in rain ??

Review 17:Close to old town, restaurants and shops Interesting rooms Good breakfast

Review 18:If there was one fault it was lack of amenities as it is not an hotel

Review 19:Quality of room and decor superb. Liked having breakfast in the a cafe by the market place.

Review 20:none

Review 21:Clean and a good location for the central town. Very friendly.

Review 22:on road, noisy with window open.

Review 23:Close to town, easy to find and park

Review 24:No soap on the bathroom No aircondition/fan

Review 25:Amazing pool You get a lot for your money

Review 27:Dinner in restaurant was very nice.

Review 28:Very friendly guy who runs it. Spotlessly clean. Very well maintained. Excellent value

Review 30:Amazing bathroom, swimming pool, general details of the room well finished

Review 31:The sink and no lift

Review 32:The unit is comfortable the breakfast at the cafe was a nice change and the garden and the pool very nice

Review 33:Great loacation, nice breakfast in town

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:outside seating, garden and pool a bonus at this price + good breakfast included

Review 36:Loo was downstairs

Review 37:Most of it, right place for everything

Review 38:We had a wonderful stay at this lovely place and would definitely return. The owner was very friendly, the room was well decorated, cozy and clean. Parking and WIFI were available.

Review 39:Some minor things like a lampshade which came nearly off the wall or a lightbulb which didn't work. The biggest diadvantage was the size of the bed which should have been at least 151 to 180 cm and was 130 cm.

Review 40:The rooms were clean with nice furniture. The duvet was almost to warm :-)

Review 41:We were a little surprised (although it did not bother us at all) to find that the bed was not made. Perhaps this is normal in a chambre d'hote. This is the only niggle, and a very minor one at that.

Review 42:Our room was spotlessly clean and decent facilities provided. We always like to find a bottle of water in the room, and we were not disappointed here. Although we arrived later than the time the reception closed, a telephone call (as arranged) brought the proprietor immediately. The property is just far enough out of town to be tranquil, but near enough to be useful. The proprietor came to fetch us on the morning we left, and took us to the station in his car. Good breakfast in main area of town; the short walk gave us an appetite!

Review 43:The check-in process was dreadful. We were advised that check-in was at4:30pm and we dutifully turned up, along with another family looking tocheck in. There was nobody on site to check us in and we had to call theowner (luckily my partner speaks French) to get him to come and check usin. We eventually got in to our room just after 5. At check-out, againthere was nobody on site until 10am - we had wanted to check out muchearlier. Breakfast is off site and thankfully we were given a map andinstructions - the other family weren't so lucky and we found themwandering the streets the following morning looking for where to eat!The breakfast itself is just bread and jam with a coffee.

Review 44:The room was beautifully decorated, with a very modern bathroom. It wasimmaculately clean. The rooms are in a perfect location, just outsidethe Obernai town ramparts.

Review 45:No airco available. Soundproof rooms were very important to us travelling with a young baby. However this hotel is NOT soundproofed at all. The floors are squeaking and you can hear everything your neighbors are doing.

Review 46:The design of the room

Review 47:Breakfast could have been more intersting, mainly baguettes with marmelade.

Review 48:Very friendly staff. The Hotel is new and well organized. Rooms are very clean and nice decorated. The pool is also very clean. Overall a very good hotel.

Review 49:We arrived on our Motor-bike the owner was very helpful in finding a secure place for us to park, the room was very nice and clean and comfortable, the pool was really nice, five minutes walk into the lovely town.

Review 50:No air conditioning Not enough hanging space for clothes - hooks behind doors?

Review 51:Swimming pool Very friendly and obliging host! Decor Breakfast Location

Review 52:Very poorly designed as toilet was downstairs but washbasin upstairs; refrigerator was a token refrigerator that did not work; asked for higher pillows but nothing done; hanging space in bedroom was non- existent. The layout needs to be more practical for travellers. Too many decor items and not enough attention to the practical needs of travellers.

Review 53:Location was excellent on key routes into and out of Obernai. Parking was good.

Review 54:I arrived to the hotel at about 18.00 hours which was during the check-in timing (between 17.00 and 20.00 hours as per booking.com) and nobody was there, so I had to phone someone (who didn't speak English) for the check-in procedure. That should not be the case. The hotel has a swimming pool, but we found it closed with the excuse of "it's too cold now" but it was 20 degC in Obernai, so having a swimming pool is kind of cheating during this season. The restaurant for breakfast is located about 4 blocks away from the hotel. Don't recall reading that when I booked it.

Review 55:Nice decor in the rooms. Nice location.

Review 56:The rooms/apartment was very spacious, nicely decorated and allnew. The bathroom has a nice walk-in shower, and there was a lot ofspace everywhere to put your clothes and stuff in. Friendly staff, very flexible.

Review 57:We arrived at 19.30, but everything was closed. We couldn't findanybody for check-in. We were lucky we had a friend with us who couldcall and speak German by phone. And they told us by phone how to findour room. Nobody told us about breakfast. Next morning I met a maid andasked her. In morning they did check out without us. I got a textmessage on my mobile phone. They just left a check with a note at thedoor. About room. The toilet is downstairs and they don't have hotwater there. The bath is upstairs and it doesn't have a door. Thebeds and pillows are not comfortable.

Review 58:The room is big.

Review 59:The bed was horrible and too small for two people. I guess between 120 and 140 cm. But regarding the room space it was accurate. Didn't like that there was no door in the bathroom because we were 3 people.

Review 60:breakfast was good, friendly owner of a nice little cafe.

Review 61:Unfortunately breakfast is at a restaurant in the centre of the town.

Review 62:too warm in bedroom; no chair

Review 63:friendly, easy to find, clean etc
