Reviews for Ashbrook Bangor Boutique Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:The owners and staff were all very friendly, asked about my day out and offered recommendations on where to go and places to eat. The room was comfortable, very clean, nicely decorated, had everything I could possibly need, and the mini bar fridge was a brilliant addition! Breakfast was so well cooked and more than plentiful!

Review 2:Little bit noisy first thing in morning when people going down for breakfast but otherwise can't faukt

Review 3:Great welcome, fantastic breakfast, comfiest bed!

Review 4:A bit of noise carried from other rooms for a while, a little distracting. Bit disappointed that we still had to pay full price for the room, even though it was just 1 adult and 1 child sharing room.

Review 5:The home from home feel, the luxurious room. The welcome given by all staff and information about restaurants in the local area.

Review 6:nothing

Review 7:The room was spotless well thought out with little details that you don't get in other places such as a fridge with fresh milk and bar and snacks available. Owner extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and well cooked.

Review 8:To say it is a boutique. Different types furniture in room, bathroom had everything. But lacked finishing touches to areas,

Review 9:Cosy, modern guest house. Breakfast not bad,

Review 10:We had a standard room and it was a little bit small for two with luggage.

Review 11:Lovely house with attention paid to details. Handy for the Menai bridge. Lovely breakfast.

Review 12:The owner was incredibly helpful. She gave us a map and guidance for places worth visiting on Anglesey also a map and advice for the best places to eat. The accommodation and breakfast were first class.

Review 13:The staff seemed rather hurried, both when we arrived (which was not that late) and at breakfast. It did not make us feel very welcome. Decor is not to our taste, but you can't please everybody. Whole experience was perfectly fine, but nothing special.

Review 14:The room was absolutely spotless, the cleanest room I have ever been in. Good honesty bar with a nice selection. Location near Menai Bridge is wonderful.

Review 15:The owner and other staff were lovely, always willing to help and make the maximum effort. Breakfasts were super with plenty of choice and as much as you wanted. The room was very comfortable, immaculately clean and well equipped. We would definitely re book.

Review 16:Utterly faultless on every single level...be hard to top this in comparison to other similar places...peaceful...immaculate...amazing extras...attention to detail outstanding...beautiful breakfast..welcoming...

Review 17:The Hot tub is great way to unwind, rooms are superb and the full Welsh breakfast outstanding. The owner was so friendly and helpful she recommended a superb local restaurant within walking distance and places to visit. My wife is coeliac and there were lots of gluten free options. We will be back

Review 18:We paid extra for a room with a view - it might have had one before the trees grew up or when they have dropped their leaves .....

Review 19:Very welcoming host, comfortable room, excellent breakfast

Review 20:The internet reception is intermittent in Bangor. Mattress was too soft for my liking, but my partner found it perfect. There was a limited breakfast selection (for the price I would have expected a full continental breakfast).

Review 21:The bedroom and bathroom was exceptionally clean. There was an honesty bar with a variety of snacks and drinks to choose from. The B&B is surrounded by woods, so it was very tranquil atmosphere throughout our stay. Polite staff who have cute little pugs and they just made my day because I was allowed to pet them! :)

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:I would recomend this b&B to anyone looking to stay in the area. It was very clean, friendly & good food. Very close to the Menai bridge.

Review 24:The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. Great extra touches such as the well stocked mini bar, bath robes and fresh milk. Fantastic breakfast. Good location for visiting Anglesey. Short walk to Menai Bridge.

Review 26:I can't criticise anything.

Review 27:Lovely clean and comfortable feel even rolling on to the driveway the place is immaculate! The room is Bright and has everything you may need in the little pantry. The owners were lovely but not intruding. Everything is a short drive away ..

Review 28:Mattress was very soft but obviously that's personal preference and not to reflect badly on the B&B!

Review 29:What a fantastic find! A superbly run B&B with excellent attention to detail. The extra touches in the rooms are a brilliant idea and very well thought out. The rooms themselves are nicely decorated with everything you need to hand and with plenty of space too. Breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here - would definitely return if in the area again!

Review 30:Nothing in particular

Review 31:We were greeted with such warmth that it made all the difference. The rooms, the little touches, the comfort, the place, the breakfast everything was absolutely brilliant. We would without a doubt visit again.

Review 32:The b&b was very clean with a very spacious room. Our room had a walk in wardrobe area with fridge and drinks facilities. Thoughtful extras included a choice of items to buy such as soft drinks, wine, snacks etc. Sewing kit, shoe shine kit , iron and board and a great hairdryer. Books and dvds also available to borrow. One fo best cooked bespoke breakfasts we have had. Will be our first choice for this area again.

Review 34:This B&B is lovely, in a great location. Good service and a wonderful home cooked breakfast. It was quiet and each room has its own charm. I would recommend this B&B to everyone!

Review 35:Everything about this place is top notch. Lovely room. Susan and Mark couldn't be more helpful even buying Gluten Free cereal for me to have at breakfast. Spent the evenings in the hot tub which was lovely to relax in.

Review 36:There wasn't anything not to like

Review 37:Everything was superb clean house and room through out owners were very polite and helpful highly recommend Ashbrook b&b to everyone

Review 38:great comfortable room, very friendly people , good location, value for money . What else would you need for a great experience? Highly recommend it if you are visiting Bangor.

Review 39:The room was really well equipped - everything we needed from tea & coffee (with a good choice of teas and plenty of milk!), hair dryer, nice toiletries. The bed (room 2) was really wide and comfortable.

Review 40:Leaving! :)

Review 41:The owners (Susan and Mark) are just wonderful people, even though I never met them before, they always went the extra bit for me to have as comfortable a stay as possible, not only in Ashbrook, but in Bangor. The house was beautifully decorated, clean, and very well maintained.

Review 42:The bed was too soft for my liking but that's personal preference! It is a little far for walking distance anywhere but taxi was super quick and £5 into Bangor. Probably the worst thing was that you can hear toilets flushing and people coming up the stairs but certainly nothing more than a usual hotel/b&b :-)

Review 43:We arrived after the check in time and was warmly welcomed. The room was a great size, excellent mini bar (at reasonable prices), lots of little touches which made it special. The breakfasts were huge and really nice and served in a lovely breakfast room.

Review 44:Made to feel very welcome by everyone. Extremely clean, quiet, beautiful room and fantastic breakfast. Would recommend to anyone and would certainly stay again when we are next visiting the area. The location was stunning.

Review 45:Ashbrook was so clean and not old. I've never seen a bathroom so clean! The bed was incredibly comfortable and I loved the sheets! It was quiet, close to restaurants, small but you wouldn't know there were others in the building. The breakfast was amazing, really thick bacon, huge breakfast and the couple who own it were absolutely lovely nothing was any trouble. Probably the cleanest most comfortable place I've ever stayed.

Review 46:absolutely nothing!

Review 47:it's as close to feeling like home as we've ever felt while traveling. Rooms r small but very well appointed, extremely clean and well laid out so that we didn't feel cramped staying in the large room with our 20 year old daughter. breaksfast was amazing lovely way to start our day. wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone if you're in the area.

Review 48:The cottage is amazing. The room delightful. The owners kind, friendly and welcoming, always available. Breakfast delicious with many choices. We really recommend it. Thank you Susan!

Review 50:nothing at all!

Review 51:The location, the house; décor, location and spotlessness. Lots of extras in the lovely toiletries, sumptuous towels, tea and coffee facilities, fridge, tissues, professional hairdryer, flat-screen t.v. Really friendly, quiet and an amazing breakfast. Also good value.

Review 52:Attention to detail with all the little things. Great decor, cleanliness and really helpful with sorting our trip out. Cannot recommend enough. Really good for visiting the university.

Review 54:Hosts went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. Recommended a fantastic restaurant for our evening meal. Unbelievable breakfast - vast choice, quick service and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Made to feel genuinely welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Review 55:cramped bathroom, low bed no chair in bedroom 4way extension lead instead of sockets. noisy plumbing from other rooms.

Review 56:Friendly staff, nice breakfast quiet at night.

Review 57:Nothing at all.

Review 58:Very comfortable beds, good size rooms, very clean and up to date décor, and loved the extra touches which made a very relaxing stay. Also very tasty breakfast

Review 59:The owners are very nice and also the B&B itself is very clean. I enjoyed my stay there. And also I would like to express my thanks to the owners.

Review 60:There wasn't anything I didn't like. Highly recommend! :)

Review 61:This B and B exceeded our expectations, and the proprietors were beyond helpful. Since this was the first time we had been to Bangor we found their knowledge and service to be extremely valuable. Everything was perfect! Thank you.

Review 62:We needed to drive to the bars and restaraunts.

Review 63:It was a fantastic room with very extremely comfortable, plus the breakfast was extensive and great quality.

Review 64:Nothing Though my in laws stayed in the std double room which was a little tight on space. The room was still lovely in decor but you might just have to leave big lugguage in the car as a previous review suggested.

Review 65:Everything was just brilliant. Wish we had more than one night here. The owners were lovely and they really delivered on a gourmet breakfast. We stayed in the Superior Double room which is worth the extra cost as it is a lot more space.

Review 66:Friendly host, helpful and informative on local information Huge Welsh Breakfast We had a small double room, decorated in a mordern style, clean and well stocked bathroom and tea tray Bed just a little small for me at 5ft 10in ! Under this you will be fine. We would stay again as long as we had a bigger bed but I'm tall-ish Thx you for having us.

Review 67:Fantastic Welcome, excellent breakfast and plenty of it. Rooms were outstanding with all home comforts, could have quite easily moved in and stayed. Downstairs hair salon and other therapies offered. Excellent location for everything that we wanted to do in north wales. Susan was amazing :)

Review 68:the shower was loose the room was a bit noisy breakfast perhaps too english (no pastries, rolls, cheese or ham ...)

Review 69:hospitality cleanliness and atmosphere comfort

Review 71:what a fantastic Hotel. the rooms were beautifully decorated, there is nothing the owners havent thought off, a well stocked fridge, beer, wine chocolate etc. the breakfast was perfect, great choice, excellent quality and served hot. will definetly be back

Review 72:Nothing, it was perfect.

Review 73:Excellent decoration, very clean, very helpful staff, superb breakfast. Location perfect for trips out and great places to eat.

Review 74:No faults

Review 75:The beautiful room was better than we could have wished for, and the service from the staff was second to none. We enjoyed the added luxury of the hot tub!

Review 76:Nothing.

Review 77:A wonderful B&B in a quiet location. The owners provided everything we needed and were so friendly and helpful. The two attic rooms, with bathroom, were absolutely perfect for our needs as a family with two teenage boys, providing apartment-style accommodation with the benefit of a breakfast prepared at a time to suit us. The fridge/mini bar was excellent: well-stocked and well-priced and everything was spotlessly clean. The boys enjoyed their time in the hot tub, which was willingly offered by the owners. Within walking distance of beautiful Anglesey, over the Menai Bridge, with a good choice of restaurants and an easy driving distance to Llanberis and Mount Snowdon. We would love to return.

Review 78:Nothing it was all excellent

Review 79:Friendly host. Very clean, modern and comfortable accommodation. All our needs were met. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Good location for Anglesey and Snowdonia. We have no hesitation in recommending it to others

Review 80:We liked everything about our stay here. The owners couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was excellent as was breakfast. I would recommend anyone to stay here when in the area.

Review 81:No complaints....

Review 82:The accommodation was wonderfully clean and fresh. The landlady very friendly and a mine of useful -touring hot spot- information. breakfast could not have been more substantial, with cereal, fruit, yogurt as well as a full English on offer. The accommodation was perfectly sited for our touring holiday, surrounded by scenic views. There was ample room in the grounds for our car with trailer as well as our 80 year old classic car.

Review 83:Very comfy and homy place to stay. I went there with my boyfriend. The host Susan is very helpful and thoughtful. She let us leave our luggage bag there before we travelled around. And she helped us check the local bus stop so we would not waste our time walking all the way back to the bus station. Very thoughtful she is. The house is quiet and homy. And our double bedroom is amazing. I feel like staying at my own place. Tea, coffee, biscuits and hair dryer, buds...all provided. Very clean. Not to mention the breakfast, absolutely fantastic. And the B&B is close to Menai bridge, maybe 5 to 10 minutes walk. Breathtaking view from there. Overall, very nice place to stay in Bangor. Highly recommended.

Review 84:Nothing really. I think that the Ashbrook was a good choice given the price, service and facilities.

Review 85:The owners and staff are ideal hosts and the facilities are excellent.

Review 86:Bed a bit soft for me but that was the only fault I could find.

Review 87:Friendly welcoming helpful staff. Rooms were spacious, clean & supplied everything you might need. Mini bar was not over priced in fact as cheap as going to the shop!!

Review 88:There was nothing that I did not like

Review 89:The staff were extremely welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. Many thoughtful extra touches, such as plenty of milk, cotton buds and lovely biscuits, One of the best B and Bs I have stayed in.

Review 90:Absolutely nothing!

Review 91:Lovely house, room and garden. Quiet location but not far from town centre. Very welcoming and obliging owners - gave me a lift back to rail station on day of departure. Huge breakfast!

Review 92:Ashbrook is a little way out of town, but is peaceful and has lovely views over the Menai. The centre of Bangor is within easy walking distance and there are also great bus links into town, so it's not really a problem.

Review 93:I've stayed 3 times at Ashbrook now, as a lone traveller on business. Each time Susan has gone out of her way to make me feel very welcome. The rooms are immaculately clean with excellent facilities and the comfiest beds ever! Breakfast is delicious, very good quality and have great veggie options. Thanks for another lovely stay!

Review 94:Quiet location with lovely views and large garden, but not far from central Bangor. Beautiful house and elegant, spacious, well-equipped room. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful, huge breakfast. Really welcoming, obliging owners.
