Reviews for L'Ecurie Du Castellas
Review 1:€7 for a bottle of water!!! Even when we questioned the owner was rude and arrogant about it. This lodging is substandard and expensive. Tiny dark bedroom, 1 star a comodation with an expensive food and drink menu
Review 2:The young boy at reception was very helpful and pleasant
Review 3:No aircon or hairdryer. Shower smaller than tiny. Night Restaurant spoiled with cold blue lights. Owners? were not so kind...
Review 4:Location is stunning. Recommend to book larger room if not alone. Ask for sea/town view. Local market wed/thu. Local restaurants. Very nice continental breakfast but only choice. Very clean. Beautiful restaurant with level terasses with breathtaking view!
Review 5:Although the croissant and baguette for breakfast were delicious, we ate the same thing for 4 days, so a little more variety would've been even better.
Review 6:Nice, comfortable and quaint place, more like bed and breakfast style. Breakfast croissant and baguette were fresh and awesome. The wifi connection was very fast, allowed us to work well from the hotel room.
Review 7:The room had no air con, in summer this is a killer in this humid, hot area. It was warmer in the room than outside. The room was minuscule. The wifi only works in reception.
Review 8:The view from the hotel's terrace.
Review 9:room was very small and very hot with no air con. Breakfast was rubbish for 15 euro per person - orange juice and coffee each. bowl of fruit to share and one small baguette and one croissant between two people.
Review 10:interesting hotel with superb restaurant attached
Review 11:Very expensive basic accommodation. Bottle of water and a coke €12. Owner/manager at reception very unfriendly. Accommodation is very old fashioned. Fan no air-conditioning in 37 degrees
Review 12:View from restaurant with good but very expensive food
Review 13:The host wasn't very friendly. When I asked about gluten free options for breakfast he said nothing available which I was more than happy to provide my own, however I had heard of the 'best restaurant in town' being joined to the hotel, and enquired about this- and he said there would be nothing they could give me!
Review 14:Ramatuelle itself is a gorgeous little town, easy to access Saint-tropez but make sure you look around town too
Review 15:Very Old Style Rooms,ok but not very cheap. The Furniture is definitively too old. The Bathroom is like an Oldtimer in the Museum Style. Need one small renovation.
Review 16:The Breakfast is fantastic and the View of the Balcony too. The Sea View over the Landscape is so beautiful. And the short Way to the Pampellone Beach is nice.
Review 17:Wifi on dodgy sofas outside restaurant only , single beds pushed together to make a double flew apart if you moved , no romance, Not really a hotel
Review 18:Pretty furniture fab views lovely terrace Lots hot water great breakfast
Review 19:The walls of the rooms are like paper, so you hear everything from the adjacent rooms.
Review 20:The silence due to the situation of the hotel, the excellent view.
Review 21:My superior room didn't have a bath which I would have expected but it did have a lovely terrace with amazing view
Review 22:The location is spectacular. Good for getting to different villages + towns. The restaurant has the best food around the area. Dinner is excellent +The breakfast is very special + typical of France It is a charming place to stay so you feel you are experiencing the South of France not a modern hotel which could be anywhere. It is family owned + run so the service is good & very friendly.
Review 23:Make sure you request a room with a view. Staff can be churlish and the rooms are fairly basic but clean.
Review 24:If you want the proximity to St Tropez without the prices or the poseurs, this is the place to come. You are in the heart of Ramatuelle village - have breakfast in the cafe in the morning and take your pick from dining options at night. Very close to beaches too.The in-house restaurant is also very good with a great terrace overlooking the village and route des Plages.
Review 25:Location good, outside dining on terrace with outstanding views, food superb.to walk around the village was magical, also a really good market whilst we were there.
Review 26:Only thing was the price for breakfast, 15 Euro each, made my eybrow rise. But again it was all so pleasant that it didn't bother me for too long.
Review 27:The view from the terrace is amazing, it will take away any of the stress you might have. We had little interaction with the lady and the gentleman and they were polite to us. Cosy little rooms, shame we didn't get one facing the same way of the terrace, but to the parking.
Review 28:Typically faded French hotel in need of a lot of work. Staff/owners very typical of this area, dis-interested, hardly friendly and require a good lecture on what holiday makers in this day and age expect for their money. This hotel is not cheap. Stay elsewhere and visit their restaurant
Review 29:The view and the restaurant which was excellent
Review 30:forgot to close the bedroom shutters during the storm and woke to light flashing from the lighthouse. Internet connection a bit slow initially. Restaurant expensive for a family budget.
Review 31:the magnificent sea view, the room as pretty as the Internet site (provençal boutis and cushions on bed, spotless crisp, white, scented bedlinen), the location just opposite the townhall and the tiny artisan market on the Thursday just a few steps away, the delicious cuisine in the restaurant (local produce, freshly-squeezed apple juice with breakfast, home-made petits-fours served with crème brulée, dainty tartines with caviar d'aubergine, roast lamb cooked to perfection...) pleasant waiter
Review 32:No wifi in the room.
Review 33:The view from the restaurant is beautiful.
Review 34:The view from our balcony was wonderful.
Review 35:I think the hotel is a different place in the high season.
Review 36:Locations and views are beautiful.
Review 37:Smell and lack of cleanliness. Room on the car-park.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:Too many
Review 40:The lady! Very pushing, not guest-friendly at all! The man was more relaxed and helpful. The room was very small and the walls are thin; you could hear the washing machines from downstairs and your neighbour-guests... Poor internet.
Review 41:Location was nice, on the edge of the village, overlooking the sea.
Review 42:This is a Restaurant with rooms not an Hotel. Access iffy, just a dark tiled back staircase to dark landing. Room lacking any amenities and bathroom smaller than the average wardrobe. Impossible to use the toilet and wash basin without the door open. Information given incorrect, with no restaurants available in the town. Overpriced.
Review 43:The area and the views
Review 44:15€ for breakfast was pricey, Bastide de Tourtour was the same but in more luxurious surroundings
Review 45:Location in Ramatuelle was excellent Internet price was great
Review 46:The view was outstanding and the village charming. The restaurant was excellent, but definitely a gourmet experience so very expensive, though worth it.
Review 47:The remainder of the area was over rated and over priced.
Review 48:The village was lovely and the hotel ideal for a visit to the Riviera, away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts.
Review 49:There was quite a bit of early noise coming from the street below as the markets were set up.
Review 50:What a lovely place, we stayed in the deluxe double that had a balcony overlooking the village street. Unlike other reviews, we found that there was no noise from other rooms. They have a wonderful verandah that you can dine on and although not cheap, the food was lovely and the service was great.
Review 51:A/C badly needed for the rooms.. Too hot.
Review 52:Quality of service and kindness of staff menbers. Food is very good !! had dinner there , the restaurant was a pleasure.
Review 53:-Expensive breakfast compared to the hot deal -Not well indicated
Review 54:-Room is in a really good condition value for money -Only few rooms in this hotel, all decorated differently
Review 55:The rooms are fairly basic and quite noisy in the corridors
Review 56:The location above the town is fantastic Food in the restaurant is very good For the view get room 6
Review 57:bathroom was so-so, with **no shower curtain** (!) and very little space for personal toiletry (great) breakfast not served in room (it would have been great to have it on our balcony) no functioning wi-fi
Review 58:the view; the decoration of the room; great breakfast
Review 59:The hotel entrance/hallway is a bit disappointing in comparison to thebeauty of the restaurant
Review 60:I asked to change rooms because the first one I had didnt suit us andthe staff kindly changed us to a more suitable/better room
