Reviews for Asia Plaza Hotel

Review 1:I wish they had single sheets on the bed, but instead they have thick comforters, so you need to turn the AC on if you want to sleep under the covers. One room had a strange smell to it, but otherwise was pleasant.

Review 2:Great location towards the north end of town, so you can easily walk to the train station, the tourist shopping market for last minute gifts, and to the center of town.

Review 3:Need to provide enough breakfast for guest.

Review 4:Good location, easy to catch a bus and taxi. Close to Ruby shopping mall that you can find cheap goods and food court is on the top level

Review 5:rooms were a bit dilapidated.

Review 6:Asia Plaza had all of the necessary elements without the frills: a decent bed, air con that worked, a reasonable sized room, and a downtown location

Review 7:Breakfast was horrible -- cockroaches and dirt on the floor of the breakfast room, ants crawling around the buffet tables, mold on the bread, and the tablecloths weren't changed for days so there was no choice but to eat on top of old coffee spills, jam, crumbs, etc. The rooms in the renovated tower were very nice but extremely loud because of the street sounds; the room in the unrenovated tower was less comfortable (mattress harder, lighting more harsh, bathroom fixtures broken, no safety box), but at least was nice and quiet.

Review 8:Rooms were large; staff was mostly very friendly. Ten minute walk to train and market.

Review 9:Breakfast was so-so (I had much better in other places) and the restaurant interior is unattractive. But do step outside onto the roof for the views. The room I had first, in the older part of building, showed clear signs of wear and tear.

Review 10:The location is the key selling point for this hotel, particularly if you want to take any train journeys as it is right across the road from the rail booking office and the train station is a 5-minute walk. Also great for walking around the Downtown area and looking down on the city from the top floor where the restaurant is. Rooms in the new section are a clear cut above those in the older (front) of the building. The staff were also helpful.

Review 11:Breakfast catered for both Chinese/Asian and western tastes , but they took along time to replenish the eggs and fruit.

Review 12:Spacious room with seats at window. Clean.

Review 13:I would prefer make your own tea and instant coffee for breakfast rather than stewed pots of tea and coffee. Even better would be coffee pods.

Review 14:All staff were friendly and helpful

Review 15:Looks like old hotel and damp smell all over the hotel as well as smell inside room. However sad part is breakfast choices are very very limited. Big TV but hardly any known channel available. Other channels signal is poor so you cannot watch anything on TV.

Review 16:Hotel location is very good. Also view from 14th floor restaurant is excellent. All over Yangon is visible. Wifi connectivity is excellent, very fast.

Review 17:Air con broken in room. Hotel ran out of food during holidays and restaurant staff were unhelpful. Cockroaches in the bedroom. Room in old bit was ok.

Review 18:The door staff and receptionist were fantastic. I stayed at the hotel at the beginning of my trip, the middle of the trip and at the end. They remembered me each time.

Review 19:Took three goes to get a room that didn't have dirty walls and sticky / worn out carpet. The public areas are in a poor state and the breakfast room was so dirty we never tried the breakfast. For $85US THIS WAS POOR VALUE! NOTE: the room photos on the website are not what you get and may not be of this hotel......

Review 20:Nothing, it wax so bad that We wanted to change hotels but they wouldn't honour the cancellation terms specified in the booking,

Review 21:Something needs to be done about the rats that come out at night on the rooftop terrace where breakfast is served.

Review 22:The hotel is conveniently located in the downtown area. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Review 23:Breakfast was poor for western travellers and there was no aircon working in 14th floor restaurant. We had to insist on a change of bedding as the sheets were not clean.

Review 24:Reasonable location and nice building and rooms. Staff were generally helpful

Review 25:When booking 1st night accommodation I requested a room in the new part of the hotel, but was put on the 13th floor of the old part. I would have stayed longer at the hotel on my return to Yangon if I had known how much nicer the new part was. Instead I booked my last 3 nights in yangon at another hotel, because of my experience in the old part.

Review 26:The new part of the hotel. The view from the roof. Door staff very welcoming, desk staff not as welcoming.

Review 27:Don't stay here if you are hoping for a late check out, any more than an hour and you are charged for a full nights stay

Review 28:Good location.

Review 29:Old dirty bad policies

Review 30:Wifi so slow and disconected

Review 31:The hotel gives the impression of being quite old with not too much maintenance

Review 32:Location is quite good, walking distance from attractions

Review 33:noise from outside

Review 34:the views

Review 35:No hot water in my room.

Review 36:Staffs are very kind.

Review 37:Good location to see Yangon. Breakfast had a good variety.

Review 38:Breakfast is not very good

Review 39:The Hotel readily accepted the reservation made through booking.com.Very courteous staff.

Review 40:no breakfast

Review 41:wifi fast

Review 42:Close to city and shops

Review 43:Poor service Slow internet Limited choices of food

Review 44:Central location Online booking was cheaper by $25 a day

Review 45:Rooms were grubby; breakfast is truly awful - the worst in three weeks of travelling around Myanmar; everything is run down.

Review 46:Location

Review 47:- Local 3 stars standard - Simple breakfast menu - Limited TV channel

Review 48:- Nice city top-viewing area - Quieter location - Friendly staffs

Review 49:Breakfast was poor, served cold, coffee and tea very strong.

Review 50:The staff were most helpful and friendly

Review 51:Located at the central of town

Review 52:Poor breakfast.

Review 53:Good structure but only the new part of the hotel.

Review 54:No spa n breakfast is not so good.also no night club.

Review 55:Rate n location

Review 56:The bathroom was not that clean but the hotel is getting renovate step by step. Wifi is very slow..... but it is everywhere in Myanmar though!

Review 57:Staff at the reception is very helpful. The room are spacious and the location is very central. Easy to get a taxi from the hotel

Review 58:On the Booking.com website, it was mentioned that the hotel does not accept visa and accept local currency only. However, as we check in, they told us they accept US$, Master or Visa cards. Since we changed some money at the airport (1:960), we want to pay by the local currency; however, the exchange rate they gave us was about 10% worse (1:1050) than the airport. So, I advise to double check with the hotel about payment method. If you want to visit places in the city via taxi, do not ask hotel people to get one for you. Their price is 1-2000 more expensive. Or you can ask the hotel just to get some understanding of how the price will be, then go get a taxi on the road and negotiate with the driver. Do not expect too much about the free breakfast.

Review 59:Location of the hotel was good, with hot water, wifi and air-conditioner. Some staff were warm.

Review 60:Quality of rooms was poor, it took them 4 tries to find me a clean room. Carpets were dirty, old and threadbare. My room had water dripping from the AC and unsealed windows. TV, cable rarely worked. Breakfast was poor. The property was worn and in desperate need of renovation. Its was barely 3 star.

Review 61:Manager acknowledged my dissatisfaction with the quality of my room and eventually upgraded me to a suite with a large fruit basket.

Review 62:Food no good,

Review 63:very slow net work, lights went out many times, scary in a lift

Review 64:staff respond, attention details
