Reviews for Baytree Lodge

Review 1:I got heavily overcharged for booking on here.

Review 2:The landlady was so welcoming and accommodating, nothing was too much for her or too big an ask. The beds are genuinely among the most comfortable I have slept on.

Review 3:The women who run the Baytree are wonderful! They are friendly and helpful and always made time to listen to our kids describe their adventures in Wales. Breakfasts were always delicious (eggs, toast, bacon, tea and coffee for the adults and eggs, Nutella, toast, and fruit for the kids). We highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Bangor!

Review 4:very friendly staff welcoming us when we first walked through the door, lovely place to stay with great location. Great breakfast. Would definately stay again if I'm in Bangor

Review 5:Terrible bathroom.

Review 6:The staff was wonderful! They are the best asset of the hotel. The room was cramped and old. The bathroom did not even have hangers for towels. The hotel closed at 9pm and we couldn't even sit in the patio. Location was good. Near the pier and Aldi supermarket and restaurants.

Review 7:This place is old , smelly and run down . It's a BB not a hotel . No check in after 7pm . Stale smells and old 70's decor . It's a dump !

Review 8:Leaving

Review 9:The parking was full on arrival after a day trip. This did not stop several guests from double parking, but I do not think this is appropriate behaviour. Luckily there turned out to be a large free parking close by: behind the swimming pool, at 200 meters from the B&B.

Review 10:Too much furniture in the room leaving very little space. The car park incline wasnt 'bike friendly'

Review 11:The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was one of the best i've had at a B+B. The view was great too.

Review 12:Limited choices for breakfast

Review 13:Pretty location, only a couple of mins walk to the lovely Lemon Tree Restaurant, and nice glass conservatory for breakfast.

Review 14:I didn't have any dislikes.

Review 15:The owner was fantastic she could not do enough for us, she even let us use her fridge to put our beer in. There is ample parking, and a couple of good reasturants within 3 mins of the hotel.

Review 16:Coffee at breakfast not up to the same standard as the food Reception area a little stark and unwelcoming

Review 17:Great welcome from the owner upon arrival Cooked breakfast really good Well maintained older property Free wifi

Review 18:Old fashioned decor, room smelt like old people's home, breakfast (sausages in particular) wasn't great.

Review 19:The landlord was extremely friendly and very approachable. We received a very warm welcome. Parking facilities were great.

Review 20:staff at this hotel were very helpful and very kind, excellent location for beautiful Bangor pier, town and university, also only 11 miles away from snowdonia range we will definitely be visiting again.

Review 21:It was a lovely stay in Bangor, the owners were lovely and helpful, Was worth the money and the breakfast was good too. the location was close to both town and the pier and just a short walk from the train station. Overall we would definitely recommend it.

Review 22:Not a dislike just a suggestion - hot chocolate would be nice as an option instead of tea and coffee.

Review 23:Location is close to train station and town centre. Friendly owner, always happy to help, when we got soaked and needed to change after checking out before going home! comfortable warm room slept really well.

Review 24:The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The full English breakfast was much more than I expected. It is a real close walk to the Menai pier and downtown Bangor high street.

Review 25:The staff were lovely. Peggy met us on arrival and was very friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was very nice. The decor/furniture was not very modern, but our room was a good size, comfy bed and it was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend this friendly and well located b&b.

Review 26:There wasn't anything not to like for an overnight ear in Bangor.

Review 27:The helpfulness of staff. Gave guidance to evening food and was accommodating over breakfast in morning. Was helpful about town and university.

Review 28:Not applicable

Review 29:Warm welcome, nothing was too much, relaxing atmosphere. We were visiting our son who attends Bangor uni and were asked if he would like to join us for breakfast at no extra cost-we really appreciated this offer and so did he! Value for money with generosity and a smile -we will definitely be visiting again.

Review 30:Most friendly and helpful B & B owner I've ever met. It was our first visit to Bangor as we we're attending an open day at the University and the owner told us where everything was, which was very helpful when we first arrived. Brilliant family room for older children, two double beds and a single. Breakfast was lovely too, will definitely stay there again.

Review 31:High ceilings in this Victorian/Edwardian villa hotel meant that single domestic radiators were not man enough for the job; rooms rarely more than tepid (mid Feb). Basically clean hotel, but tired, tatty décor in places - really needs a warmer facelift. Cooked breakfast was fine, but avoid eggs other than fried; scrambled really rubbery.

Review 32:Our welcome was one of the warmest I've encountered anywhere and finding the hotel, parking in its forecourt (right outside the main entrance) and arrival were all convenience itself. Location perfect for our needs and the bed was comfortable.

Review 33:Short notice booking but we found the staff extremely accommodating and happy to fit in with our arrangements. Good location and decent facilities, very good value.

Review 34:Would have preferred a shower as being older we struggle to get in and out of the bath.

Review 35:We thought breakfast finishing at 9am was a little to early other places we've stayed it finished at 10-am but the owner was very kind and served us breakfast at 9-30am thought she was very pleasant and breakfast was lovely.

Review 36:Decor a little dated but it really didn't make any difference.

Review 37:We had a warm welcome, the beds were very comfortable, wifi worked well and everything was clean. Other guests were quiet, breakfast was very nice too.

Review 38:Fantastic location. Just 15 mins ish walk into town. Friendly welcome. nice room. We were at the front of the Hotel with nice views over the hills. No noise issues at all. Clean towels both days and nice toiletries in the bathroom. Loved the breakfast. Nice to have marmalade in a preserve jar rather than silly little single portions. If ever in Bangor again will definitely check availability.

Review 39:the check in was early, which we missed, but they accomodated us

Review 40:very close to the Uni and the owner let us leave our car there for the day whilst we visited the Unis open day

Review 41:We were arriving late evening and reception closes at 7pm. The bedroom was very small. The B&B is placed on a main road so if you have a room at the front there is some traffic noise.

Review 42:Short walk from the beautiful Bangor pier. Nice breakfast. Staff were generally friendly and accommodating.

Review 43:We were instantly greeted by a friendly face, upgraded to a spacious and clean room and had a lovely stay. You can ask for whatever you want for breakfast and the hotel is quiet. If you want to stay somewhere with a friendly, personal touch - Baytree Lodge is the place.

Review 44:Decore is a bit dated but all clean. Students noisy passing late at night but staff can't help that.

Review 45:Really friendly staff made you feel very welcome Very comfy bed Great room temp

Review 46:Stephanie was very friendly, very bubbly person. The breakfast facilities were very good indeed, you could have anything you wanted really Stephanie was very accomodating with your request, the cooked breakfast was lovely, the choice of cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurts. The bed was the comfiest one I have slept in for quite a while. Very clean and tidy, well maintained, stones throw away from pier. The town was a bit of a let down for me, blinking road works everywhere. Overall great thanks Stephanie

Review 47:I forgot my cameras when I left the hotel. The value of the cameras is about $8000 USD. When I came back to the hotel, the cameras are kept in a storage room. The host lady return them to me. I really appreciate it.

Review 48:Traditional B&B and made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, 5 min from the pier which is stunning and some nice little walks around the area.

Review 49:Couldn't fault the way the lodge is run. If we were to be really picky, the parking outside can be tricky as the lodge is used by a lot of people working in the area and so there are lots of cars and vans.

Review 50:On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and approachable member of staff who made sure we had everything we needed and that we were catered for. She had ensured that everything we had asked for in the request section of the booking form was done. The vegetarian breakfast was great.

Review 51:Room was overcrowded with furniture, making it difficult to move around. For what you got this place was overpriced. Breakfast was average at best.

Review 52:Friendly greeting when we arrived and at breakfast.

Review 53:Beds to soft, not enough pillows, cobwebs hanging from ceiling, not enough shelves in bathroom, and shaving light not working. Sorry!

Review 55:Staff were absolutely lovely and helpful. Very comfortable bed and clean room.

Review 56:A very friendly, clean guest house with a super landlady and exceptional breakfast. Will be staying again soon.

Review 57:At night, heater was stopped. For dinner, wife of B&B said there are many restaurant in the high street, but there was almost nothing..
