Reviews for The Management Centre

Review 1:The staff are always pleasant and helpful, the food is of a high quality and I would like to highlight the breakfast staff for their cheery welcoming smiles

Review 2:Very minor whinge: bar was not always staffed, so had to call for service.

Review 3:Lovely location, staff, not like a characterless chain hotel. Everything really.

Review 4:I have got many emails from hotel that my card has some problem. I called them and offer the valid card. But I do not think all people could share the information, they still send me the e-mail and say I need to change a new card. Therefore, I need to call them at least three times to explain it to the different people to keep my booking. I do not like to spend my time on explain again and again,.

Review 5:location

Review 6:The bedside liht in my room was not suitable for reading in bed: a bad choice. The coffee shop was never open.

Review 7:Excellent rooms, well equipped. Staff superb, friendly, helpful, tolerant of my attempts at Welsh.

Review 8:We can't think of one negative word to say.

Review 9:The things we liked about our stay was the friendliness of all the staff. The food was excellent and the service was second to none. Our room was very comfortable and we will be recommending this hotel to our friends.

Review 10:Lack of food choice from room service. I arrived late, due to motorway closure, and choice was sandwich or jacket potato, which was dry.

Review 11:Room was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 12:The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The hotel was very clean and the bedroom was very modern. Very good value for money and recommended over the leading hotel chain!

Review 13:Although we managed to get a parking space there wasn't many spaces available and we were not aware of an alternative.

Review 14:Lovely and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was lovely.

Review 15:I love north wales and I find it a great place to come and relax for a long weekend. The management centre is the only place I like to stay, the staff are friendly and the facilities are always clean and well presented. I normally make about 4 trips a year to north wales and in all the years I have stayed at the management centre I have never been disappointed.

Review 16:Location better for people staying or visiting the uni breakfast room not big enough waited for food dishes to be refilled on self service other items cold guest turned away or mad to wait

Review 17:Nice room

Review 18:Breakfast was not great, not enough seating and no bacon left.

Review 19:The best was the location, firstly for access to the university, secondly for the views....

Review 20:Is like a maze, stairs everywhere. Breakfast time is reduced during the week. The Internet connection is somewhat complicated.

Review 21:Super quiet place, the room was nice. the view from the garden.

Review 22:Wi fi not very good & could have done without fire alarm going off in early hours, but at least we know it works !!

Review 23:Very clean and modern facility, excellent staff and restaurant provided excellent food.

Review 24:the fruit teas on the counter at breakfast are two pounds!!! they should be free like the tea and coffee and should be in the rooms as well-they are in premier inns.

Review 25:lovely accomodation-handy for uni. they provided soya milk as i requested-nowhere else ever has!

Review 26:Too many stairs would defiantly not recommend to a disabled person. I had 6 different sets of stairs everything was too spread out reception, restaurant shouldn't be a hike from the bedrooms

Review 27:Beautiful building

Review 28:Loved the location, the building, the breakfast and the staff were excellent. Definately worth paying that little bit extra and go for the best rooms, flinging back the curtains in the morning to see the Menai straits was wonderful.

Review 29:It was difficult to find the venue, but that' just due to road works nearby. They could have emailed about this, but hey... The staff at break fast were obviously bored and didn't care about their jobs. There weren't plates, no bread, when their manager turned up magically all started working.

Review 30:Good location, Bangor Uni grounds are quite nice. Close to the town centre. Clean and cosy little room. Free parking in their own car park (2 mins walk).

Review 31:If you want quick access to the town center this hotel is not the best choice...it is up on a hill....15 minutes away. The place did not have a hotel feel...more like a University residence. I find steps difficult and the place is full of stairs, and sometimes lifts are not available.

Review 32:The staff was welcoming and informative. The facilities were good especially it you are following a course at Bangor University. The breakfast was lovely!

Review 33:Only a minor whinge, bed & pillows were a little too soft for my wife's liking (after a long car journey) but would suit most people.

Review 34:Very friendly & helpful staff - nothing too much trouble. Great location for visiting students, exploring & magnificent views.

Review 35:lots of steps

Review 36:friendly staff, bank of menai straits, relaxed atmosphere, lots of availability of spaces to work, costa open on the Monday, very nice breakfast

Review 37:Selected the Management Centre due to proximity to the University ready for an Open Day. Room clean , hairdryer a useful touch. The breakfast was excellent with a lovely view over the Menai Straits. All staff very pleasant and helpful..

Review 38:College Rd closed on Sunday morning for roadworks - we were effectively trapped for 15 mins after leaving the car park while contractor grudgingly moved plant to let us out. Would have been good to have been warned about closure.

Review 39:Staff very pleasant and helpful. Accommodation good although access was a little convoluted. Really good breakfasts and evening meal in restaurant. Great views too!

Review 40:It is good value bout a little cheaper would always be good

Review 41:We've stayed in the executive suite a few times now, love it, the bed is big and comfy and the shower is great, staff are friendly rooms are very clean and welcoming

Review 42:Poor quality of pillows and mattress, really poor night sleep when used to memory foam

Review 43:The location was well suited for my needs and everyone was professional and polite.

Review 44:Room tempertaure control was poor. Apart from opening the window I could not do anything else to lower the temperature. It was also a bit stuffy.

Review 45:very well located for my training course at the university. Friendly staff.

Review 46:Only issue was the wardrobe was too close to the bed so it didn't open properly - frustrating but wouldn't put me off staying again or recommending!

Review 47:Excellent room, good location, friendly staff and extremely clean!

Review 48:WiFi a bit flakey (they had been experiencing technical problems). Poor TV reception on major channels as in no signal.

Review 49:Spacious room. Comfy bed. Convenient for University. Tasty breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 50:Breakfast was always the same and the dinner menu didnt offer enough variety. There was no concise and with our rooms on the third floor there was no direct lift and we had to carry out luggage for two flights of stairs with no assistance. The wifi login system was annoying because we kept having to enter in credentials every so often.

Review 51:The location and staff

Review 52:Not a lot of value for your money, although saying that it was height of the season.

Review 53:The room had a majestic view over the bay and the grounds were lovely.

Review 54:The only glitch is the wifi, logging on was a pain & every time my phone shut down you have to go through login all over again! Simplicity please.

Review 55:Comfort, cleanliness, friendly & views

Review 56:Nothing

Review 57:Surprising level of comfort/facilities for a 'management centre'. Excellent location for Snowdonia/Anglesey, good restaurant, very quiet, attractive setting.

Review 58:That I only stayed one night!

Review 59:The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities you could wish fir- the best towels I've ever had at a hotel .the food was also excellent

Review 60:The wifi Internet is appalling. Weak signal constantly drops connection and asks you to sign back in every single time. It wouldn't be difficult to set up range extenders all over the hotel to provide seamless connection. We gave up in the end and used the phone's 4G (which didn't work that well either-EE customers take note)!

Review 61:Lovely clean hotel in excellent order. Most staff were friendly and very helpful.

Review 62:Located on top of a hill so walking up to the hotel from the bus stand is difficult. No problem if you have own transport. Continental and cooked British Breakfast is included but its the same menu everyday.

Review 63:Spacious rooms, free wifi, central location close to Bangor Bus Station, friendly staff, nice location. Not overtly pricey for location - almost 100 pounds on Bank holiday weekend. Lunch and Dinner menu was limited (not much vegetarian options) but tasty and presented well.

Review 64:Over priced. Costa Coffee not open on a Bank Holiday! No staff at the bar? Breakfast ran out of decent bread by Bank Holiday Monday!

Review 65:Was a student at Alun 33 yrs ago - good nostalgia trip! Great to see what you had done with the old halls. Great location and views on The Straits. Loved the bed and great linen and towels.

Review 66:We did'nt really dislike anything, although the bed was a little uncomfortable but that could be due to it being different from ours at home

Review 67:We particularly liked the very large fluffy white bath sheets provided in the bath room

Review 68:The TV in the room had very poor reception due to the trees in close proximity.

Review 69:The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and they always have a smile.

Review 70:Room E 305 inaccessible for elderly. Room a little small, otherwise nothing wrong with it other than being too expensive taking into account remote location. Poor food in restaurant for evening meal.

Review 71:The whole atmosphere was very clinical. The bar was very impersonal and when you wanted a drink you had to pick up an internal phone and ring for someone to come and serve you. We were asked to leave the bar early so the security staff could lock up and we were expected to leave instantly. The image on the web site is very deceiving. The layout of the place is like a maze. Wouldn't rush back.

Review 72:There was nothing outstanding.

Review 73:Gave in with trying to access free wi fi. No bar!!!!!!!! Could be improved greatly by having a bar in the lounge in the evening. I was effectively confined to my room.

Review 74:Wish I had spoken to Jan when we booked in sent on a wild goose chase, three times I had to return to reception and ask how to get to room. Had a leak in the bathroom this did not help the situation not a good experience

Review 75:Staff in the restaurant were very pleasant Jan and the blond young lady in reception very helpful

Review 76:Wifi didn't work. Safe didn't work. Could have done with a mini fridge in the room and gym in the centre. Better choice in the restaurant would have been appreciated.

Review 77:Good clean room with most of the amenities. Good breakfast choices. Helpful staff. Within easy access to town but the town itself was deserted!

Review 78:The only downside is that it takes time to find your way around, it's a rabbit warren!

Review 79:Fantastic views. The food served in the restaurant is excellent and real value for money. Great place to stay.

Review 80:Walls not very sound proof, could hear people talking in corridor clearly

Review 81:Very friendly staff, perfect location and helpful recommendations from the staff

Review 82:Noise from upstairs room was loud. Not good sound proofing between the floor. could be very steep for elderly to walk to town due to hills.

Review 83:Cleanliness and comfort of room

Review 84:Only down side was room 9 was under entrance walkway and although it didn't bother me my wife said she was woken during the night with other guests coming in quiet late and early in the morning by staff getting ready for the day etc.

Review 85:Staff were very friendly and accommodating - meals were reasonably priced and well presented

Review 86:Quite hard to find as it's part of banger university

Review 87:Great room very clean and well appointed unusual building great breakfast with very helpful staff

Review 88:The venue is at the top of a steep hill and quite a long walk from the town centre. There's a lot of stairs as it is built on a sloping site (though there are lifts - quite small lifts - also). The venue is not very well sound-proofed, so footsteps on corridors and on stairs can be quite loud in the middle of the night.

Review 89:A bright, clean room and a comfortable bed. Well-stocked breakfast buffet with a range of options.

Review 90:The room was a bit small for all the furniture that was squeezed in. It led to a lot of bumped elbows/knees as you tried to move around. It was quite busy on the first morning and the breakfast staff/process struggled to cope.

Review 91:Very comfortable bed & helpful staff. On the quieter days the breakfast was delicious.

Review 92:Wifi is intermittent. Let your device store the username and password, it speeds up reconnecting.

Review 93:Large, spacious room. Very helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Fantastic location.

Review 94:Access from a room to the restaurant and the reception. Up and down with a few steps.

Review 95:A clean and spacious room. Good breakfast. Nice shower facility.

Review 96:Could have been improved by someone on the bar during the evening rather than having to ring to request someone to attend. But saying that the young man was very quick to arrive, very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for him.

Review 97:We stayed a couple of nights for our son's graduation. Hotel couldn't have been in a better location for us. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The breakfast is highly recommended. The layout of the hotel is very quirky being on different levels causing much amusement when navigating around it. A very enjoyable stay had by all of us.

Review 98:very corporate feel, not homely and quite expensive i thought, breakfast a bit chaotic and not well organized

Review 99:comfort of beds, overall standard of cleanliness, view of menai straits, lovely old buildings.

Review 100:A bit of a long walk from the parking site to the rooms, which might be a problem if you have very heavy lauguage.

Review 101:The bathroom is great, the bed very comfortable. Everything very clean, and well kept. Very friendly staff. Everything was great, I am lactose intolerant and the chef in the hotel restaurant went out of his way to accommodate me.

Review 102:I have nothing negative to say about my stay

Review 103:From the very cheery welcome on checking in,to the whole stay, it was excellent. Everyone was very helpful.

Review 104:Better than many hotels, with excellent standard of housekeeping, furnishing and comfort. Executive room more spacious than most hotels, not at all 'institutional'. Brasserie serves well cooked menu, only problem = maybe too large helpings. Very quiet location, quick access to Anglesey and Snowdonia, in other words hard to beat. Strongly recommend.

Review 105:Room 119 very poor and intermittent WiFi reception .I could sit in a chair facing and close to a wall.I could not sit up on bed with tablet use (no or intermittent WiFi) and go over other documents. Had to keep moving to other section of room.

Review 106:Good situation from scenery overlooking Kenai Location, scenery, politics friendly staff and on site refreshment facilities .

Review 107:Self service breakfast area needed more attention from staff of when foods/ juices run out.

Review 108:Friendly staff ,very clean rooms and comfortable bed.the atmosphere was very peaceful .

Review 109:Although everything about the hotel was great, £78 for a 1 night stay in a single bed from 3pm until 10am is a little pricey.

Review 110:The room was extremely clean and a very good size for a single!

Review 111:Wifi was a bit difficult, kept cutting out in bedroon. Excellent in restaurant. Management centre a little hard to find from train station.

Review 112:Rooms and breakfast were excellent. Staff were brilliant.

Review 113:Distance from car park to room was somewhat of a challenge, as was finding reception (the correct one!) One had to get to find their way around the building somewhat to get familiar with the way to your room. Walking through the restaurant with all your baggage was far from ideal.

Review 114:The room was very spacious, with an excellent bed, showers, and Wi-Fi facilities. There was a choice of two beds; a double sized bed, or a huge king-size one.

Review 115:This is an outstanding accommodation in a beautiful location. The staff are friendly & professional. It is slightly different than your usual hotel in all the best of characteristics

Review 116:Friendly staff, clean, comfortable basic room, a shower that actually worked and showered you rather than the rest of the bathroom!! A Perfect night stay!!

Review 117:It was very warm in the room - the radiators were on (in July??) and it wasn't possible to open a window. There were several light sources (alarm clock and smoke alarm for example) which you couldn't turn off which was a bit annoying at night. Would have liked a bath as well as a shower.

Review 118:Loved the place over all - especially the view over the Menai Straits for breakfast and stunning photographs in the bedrooms and main dining room. Staff very helpful and friendly, both on the phone and in person. All very efficient and relaxed, especially the fact that you could turn up any time 24/7 and there was someone on reception. Free parking too. Would definately go back.

Review 119:£225 for two nights B&B for two people was far too expensive for what is effectively university accommodation with few facilities, some of which are closed at the weekend.

Review 120:Breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 121:The one way system of College Road. The breakfast food could have been hotter

Review 122:The room, very friendly staff. Peace and quiet. View over the Menai Straights

Review 123:My Wi-Fi didn't work- but that could have been my ancient computer's fault.

Review 124:The Management Centre is beautifully situated with a superb view of the Menai Straits, very convenient for the University at Bangor and parking is available on site. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful: I'd certainly stay there again.

Review 125:Poor wi-Fi but we didn't stay in order to spend hours on the Internet. We were in a top floor room (304) so it might be better elsewhere.

Review 126:Clean, comfortable, well appointed room with excellent bed and en suite. Views of Anglesey from bedroom window. Friendly staff. Superb breakfast with lots of tasty choices. Obviously designed as a conference hotel, with rather a maze of corridors but many mainstream hotels could learn a thing or two from the way the Management Centre is run. Would certainly stay here again.

Review 127:Nothing absolutely perfect

Review 128:Being able to change before a wedding at 11.30...pulled out all the stops to get us our room before...thank you so much ..cleanliness of bathrooms spotless!!

Review 129:Weather was quite close when we visited and better room ventilation or an extra window would have helped but I guess if you want older buildings this is not always possible.

Review 130:Nice buildings and atmosphere. Good food and friendly staff.

Review 131:The location wasn't so good nowhere was open locally and the main town was down a very steep hill no good when walking.

Review 132:The hotel was spot on, very clean, staff are lovely and the food was really good.

Review 133:This historic property has been redecorated to a low, institutional standard similar to a hospital waiting room. The results are unfortunate. Staff appear recently trained and chaotic.

Review 134:The room was like university halls. Very basic and certainly not 4*. I was disappointed to have chosen and have paid so much for a stay here.

Review 135:The staff were friendly, particularly in the breakfast room.

Review 136:Bed a little too soft. Too far and on a hill so walking to city was too much for us.

Review 137:Room was good and functional. Shower excellent. Breakfast very good. Menai was good for the evening meal. Views spectacular

Review 138:Wifi struggled to stay connected--no surprise, since the building is listed.

Review 139:Staff were very helpful and supportive. Campus is lovely. Location fabulous for anything Bangor.
